Its so funny, i got my first smocked dress fabric today and wasn't quite pleased with the tube top, and basically was trying to figure out this EXACT series of add ons!! You rock! The freehand sleeves are so cool! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for sharing. I am about to attempt this for my five year old granddaughter. Wish me luck! Update: I did make it with cute strawberry face fabric and she likes it! Thanks again for the tutorial!
Wow! Instant dress! And it cracks me up that you did a lot of the designing in the air! You hardly even used a table! I think adding that lower tier gave it a better shape.
It would be different for everyone. I suggest measuring a shirt you own and going from there. Or a similar style dress or top that has a sleeve and use that pattern piece
It looks lovely and seems easy enough to make.
Thank you!! It is super easy to make! 💛

So glad it was helpful!! The tube top look isn’t for me either so it definitely needed the upgrade 😅

Thank you! Yea it was fun to just do the designing on my own body. And I agree the tier helped
You're amazing! It's beautiful 😍
Thank you so much!!
Wow...!!! ...creative....👍👍👍
Thanks so much! 💛
Very cute! I know my next project!
YAY! It is such a good one too! Enjoy!
Awesome. Can you please give measurement of cloth you used for the sleeves.

Thank You so much for this video!
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 💛
Did the fabric come like that shired, or did you do the shirring?
I believe so, Joann's also sells already shired fabric
The fabric came shired! Joann stores have a whole collection of smocked fabric to choose from!
If we don’t have a serger could we use a standard sewing machine and pink the seams?
Yes you definitely can! I just like to use a serger to finish off those raw edges
How many yards of fabric did you use over all?
I used about 2 yards of fabric for this project!
If you were to make this for someone else and only had their measurements, do you think this fabric would work?
Yes definitely!
how long did it take you to make?
I think a couple hours but that was only because the sleeves needed hemming and I was trying to figure out the right size! It’s such a quick project
I like the way you cleaned up all those gathers with the serger. However, I priced your machine.. it's about $400!
It helps a to! I love having a serger and totally find it worth the price!
Omg. That’s cheap. They can be many times more exspensive. I do believe second hand ones though are a good buy
