I was the one who made the Charlotta sword. Thanks again for the interview! It was awesome seeing all the other controllers while walking through the exhibition hall!
That's awesome! So glad you found the vid! It was nice talking with you about your project and I thought it was a very inspiring build!
that was a crazy looking sticks. bro was ready to fight both in-game and real life.
Tournament hack if you have to sit side by side you get the spot you want every time.
my favorite part of fighting games is how passionate people are about their controllers
So true! Definitely the coolest controllers out of the various gaming genres.
Same, I love the variety and creativity people have with their controllers. Unless stock art/buttons are used, no two controllers are the same and I love it.
Yoooo! It was awesome to meet ya' and show off the Juryo. Not gonna lie, that Charlotta sword is hard to beat.. homie couldn't go anywhere in the venue with that stick without being stopped lmao.
Nice to meet you as well, dude! Great Juryo!
“The Mistake” lol
Gotta love that FGC humor. Thanks for watching!
You were very pleasant to speak with. I'm the one with the year of the tiger fight stick.
Right on! Super glad you found the vid! Thanks again for the candid interview about your stick!
This was my first time at EVO and it was so cool seeing all the unique builds! I stood in line next to a guy with a BBHood themed picnic basket stick! Love your videos!
I missed that BBHood picnic basket stick but it sounds fantastic, lol. Thanks for watching!
If I may ask, what made you decide this would be your first EVO? I'm just curious.
@@jessepeterson6694 I've been wanting to go for years, but this year I finally got a job that would let me afford it!
Good stuff. Charlotta's sword is my favorite of the bunch. Mistake was a close second.
Yeah, you could tell he put a lot of time and energy into it!
I was waiting for the drop, but nah, NiceGuy4Jesus was super wholesome 😂
Also, The Mistake is a GREAT name lol
Yeah, that dude has some wholesome energy! Most people I met/talked with were super nice and kind over the weekend though. Everyone just jazzed to be among like-minded people who enjoy fighting games.
That tiny hitbox the second guy showed is superb. I'm not into leverless controllers but a compact and functional build is always a plus.
Yeah, I have a video on the SGF Faust and the art printed directly on top is pretty novel. Something else interesting about those controllers is that a user can plug in foot pedals to use for additional functions (so you can literally stomp out a drive impact or whatever). Thanks for watching, dude!
The haute g16 is pretty good too
yeah the bridget is great, i got one recently and its been a perfect size for me lately.
@@Solid-Matrix I have the s16, I think it might be better having tried my friends g16. I like the buttons more I think that’s the main thing.
The Arcade stick rabbit-hole is something I never thought existed but am glad it does
I find it really makes a difference in the fun factor of playing fighting games (your mileage may vary, but for me, personally, anyway)! Lots of really cool mods and tweaks you can do to your device to make it all your own. Great fun. Thank you for watching and weighing in with a comment!
Little sad my custom Akuma stick and I didn't come across you but killer video my dude! EVO 2024 was absolutely amazing!
Dang. Next time, dude. (I'm sure I missed several cool ones; there were so many people, there was no chance I would interact with all) But yeah! Hopefully see you there in the future! Thanks for watching!
I made a leverless out of a Dewalt drill case. Everyone said i was crazy! 😅
Crazy for not thinking of it sooner...
Drill cases are so good for DIY sticks. You can get a good one for about $20 and it'll last you longer than most professional stuff.
Gotta agree that Charlotta is very nice! I'm excited for Versusia coming to GBVSR. Hush bro your videos never stop surprising me!
Always appreciate your support! Thanks for watching and glad you're hyped for Versusia!
I have a deep appreciation for the Fighting Game Community (FGC); it's an incredible space filled with passionate people.
Very true! Thank you for watching!
@@HushMySweet1 went to EVO back in 2018, It’s an amazing event. Thanks for highlighting all the great fight sticks.
I have one of the 10 year of the tiger sticks as well. My wife and I bought it for my daughter who was born in 2022, and since I was born in 1986 we are both Tigers in the Chinese Zodiac. Once she is old enough to play games it will be her stick hopefully for forever.
That's a great story and I hope your daughter loves it!
Aw man I missed some of these and I've been really looking out for cool stick builds! We should have a gathering place next EVO to show off!
That could be cool! The only issue I ran into was that a lot of these players weren't interviews I had scheduled over the r/fightsticks discord. The majority were just when I saw them walking around the venue or playing casuals. So, even if there was an established gathering place/time, who's to say that people would see and abide by it. Just gotta keep an eye out for wild sticks, I guess. Thanks for watching, Dave!
Using a Beatmania IIDX panel on a fightstick is nutty lmao
Everything about that was pretty nutty, lol. Thanks for watching, dude!
I would be so distracted by "The Mistake", what a glorious contraption
Both that and the sword, I could see being pretty distracting as the player 2 sitting down for sets, lol. Thanks for watching!
I love the little Night in the woods fight stick! someone has good taste in Indie games!
I've heard good things, and that one is on my backlog of ones to at least check out, but I seem to have such few extra moments for more gaming these days that I might just have to take your word for it. Thanks for watching!
6:20 These are slick. Gotta check out ASI.
Yeah, their booth looked pretty busy at the event too! They have a new leverless and it looked like they sold out fairly quickly. Thanks for stopping by, dude!
They are very creative with their custom art work. Great job to you all👍
Definitely some wild aesthetics! Thank you for the support, Colin! I appreciate it!
Love looking at these dude's sticks. Especially the large ones.
😂🙃
Also the Bearwitt leverless is so clean. I hope to commission him someday.
Nice controllers!! and some crazy too
Yeah, lots of the standard stuff throughout the event, but it was definitely cool to try and spot the crazier ones to feature here. Thanks for watching, dude!
Such a cool video!! love it, thanks for making it. these are so cool to see
Hey, thanks for the nice comment! Making this vid was the easy part when you compare it to the time some of these people put into the sticks, so it's cool I can help share their creations with others. It's definitely a jolt of inspiration (for me anyway). Thank you for watching, dude!
@@HushMySweet1 definitely some inspiration for me too! Going to see how creative I can get when making my partner a better stick and these were some neat ideas!
Looks-wise I really liked Mix Master Mitch's ASI VM6R. Looks super clean and high quality. As a leverless user, Chives's Eva-themed Basho Juryo XL looks more like something I'd actually use, though. It has a nice-looking thickness to it. Makes me wanna see more low profile builds using arcade buttons instead of keyboard switches.
Both good picks! What is your leverless daily driver?
@@HushMySweet1 I'm using the Haute42 M16 these days. I'd like to move to something a bit wider in the future.
@@SoundToxin I should have a couple of M16+ and a newer Mavercade device vids here before too long. Those may be wide enough for what you're looking for. (And I forgot to say thanks for watching earlier, so thanks!)
Man that qanba sapphire looks so sexy, can't wait!
I spent some time at that booth picking their brain about it. Looks interesting!
@@HushMySweet1very nice! How does it feel?
I didn't get to actually feel it sadly. It was locked in a case. But they told me it was likely to release around $250 or less. And it's not quite as big as pictures make it appear. I would guess maybe 16" across. LEDs, remappable buttons, and all that, etc.
@@HushMySweet1 gotcha, were you able to get an idea on how big the buttons were?
I think they were ~20ish mm across, but I couldn't actually touch/measure so take my eyeball measurements with a grain of salt. I guess we shall see when they officially release. I asked them about the drop date and they couldn't give me an official launch time. They did open orders for their new buttons, so maybe this thing will drop Q3/Q4 of this year.
3:40 what an awesome controller, I really want that now lol,
love arcade buttons but man not a first time stick purchase- gotta stick to somethign simple to see if I even like em
You can get an enclosure or a full build from Basho if you need. The good thing is that most sticks hold their value pretty well, so even if you decided you didn't like it, you can typically unload them on the r/fightsticks discord for ~80% money back. Good luck with the build! www.etsy.com/shop/bashofightsticks
Let's goooo, the best part of EVO
lol, there were a few hype matches and cool people in the mix too, but yeah I'm with ya. Always super rad to see what controllers people bring and use! Thanks for watching, dude!
great recap of these fightsticks.
Thanks, it's cool to spotlight these things! It's always awesome to see what different people cook up!
this channel rules
🙏🙏🙏 Appreciate ya!
The sword controller is amazing. But how do you use it in offline games 😅. It feels like you must pick P1 side ot if you pick 3, the sword would be half way through the opponent stomach
Yeah...that's fair. lol, thanks for watching!
Damm! I can't believe I missed the chance of seeing you here! I need to follow ur other socials so that wont happen again!
Say it ain't so, Dimz! You probably passed right by me without knowing--I was that guy with the fightstick glint in his eye, lol. Maybe next time, dude! (As for socials, I lurk a lot of discords, dripfeed reddit r/fightsticks, and will occasionally check Twitter - @AFightstick ) Anyway, I hope your Evo experience was a good one!
@@HushMySweet1 Oh I absolutely did! It was my 1st EVO/Major and not only that, but I made it out of pools (GBVSR)! I Had a great time.
Not gonna lie that Mistake controller I could get behind I like the random buttons! Thanks Hush great content as ALWAYS!!
🙏 Appreciate that! Thanks for the support, dude!
awesome video i love seeing whats about super sick
Glad you enjoyed! Lots of creative people out there!
Golden lever is 🔥
my faves are Charlotta Sword and "The Mistake" for using beatmania layout lol. He's passionate about FGC and Rhytm game probably xD
Both awesome ones, and yeah, I would also bet he's passionate about both fighting and rhythm games! (Both awesome genres, really) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yoooo I saw the giant fight stick at Combo Breaker!
That thing is hard to miss, lol! I think this one is his second iteration complete with lights and such, but it's definitely an eye-catching piece. Suddenly I don't feel so bad carrying around a regular fightstick in a backpack all day. Thanks for watching!
The sword one makes me want to machine a dragonslayer from Berserk out of iron just to have the heaviest fightstick possible.
Actually, now that you say that, you should check out this one. It's similar to what you're describing and was done a few years back, but they didn't use exclusively metal. www.fightstickguy.com/copy-of-kill-bill-vol-i-fightstick
PUNPUN on the second one!
Thanks
I wish they would test out the buttons so i could hear them...
I had to mic these guys up, and even my own voice asking questions (un-mic'ed) was washed out and hard to hear. There is too much background event noise to make that very feasible. But! I'll see if I can't try it next time I'm there. Like placing a mic right next to the controllers or something after the interview concludes for some B-roll. I've got some time, so I'll try to figure something out.
My favorite part of playing fighting games is the controllers. I'm not one of those "if I had x controller I'd win more" people I just like making and seeing controllers
Totally agree! Always see them as like an extension of a player and their interests. Thanks for watching/commenting!
shoutout my guy swingMEATZ i can barely see him at the end of the vid lol
Right on! Hope he is well! Thanks for watching, dude!
the only leverless i could find in eastern europe where I'm from is the razer kitsune...if it's not produced by a big company I won't be able to get it, unless I buy from another country with international shipping which I'm not gonna do.
Yeah, options are limited in certain areas. Regardless, I hope you find what works best for you. Good luck and thanks for watching!
For me I am not a fan of the super close leverless set ups. I got big hands and that just seems uncomfortable. But, I guess it is to resemble a keyboard setup.
Stay tuned for a review this week which may speak to you.
🙏
Thanks for watching, dude!
I'm pretty fascinated with the arcade tables that only have buttons and no arcade sticks. What's up with that design choice, are those meant for people with hand problems like arthritis or what?
That's sort of the direction arcade sticks seem to be headed. There has been a huge influx of those style of devices in the past few years (though they have been around for over a decade). They are called all-button controllers or leverless controllers. They are pretty precise and lend themselves well to certain games. I think they appeal to the newer gen of players who come from PC gaming background and don't have the nostalgia of arcades/joysticks. Thanks for watching!
4:56 $30 parts $60 fumo 😹
Priorities lol!
Is it not really difficult to play with D-Buttons vs Stick? I don’t understand how it works
I think most people don't have the arcade/joystick nostalgia (especially the newer, younger players), so many find direction buttons more intuitive than a lever. So, we've seen all-button controller usage explode in the last couple years.
@@HushMySweet1
Is it similar to mouse n keyboard then, but obvs no mouse?
I think it would be cool to learn and you can defo get some sick looking arcade button set ups from what I saw in your vid
Yeah, I think you are right to compare them to a keyboard. And I think that's part of the reason why newer players are gravitating that way (they are more likely to have some experience with WASD / PC gaming, so it may just be more intuitive). There are also some cool little shortcuts and such you can do which makes them slightly more optimal over joysticks imo. At the end of the day, it's whatever is most comfortable/fun though. Thanks for watching!
@@HushMySweet1
You had me at the thumbnail
shoutout to indonesia
ASI seemed to be a pretty popular booth. I think they sold out of their new leverless on that first day, so good for them! Thanks for watching!
You've satisfied my craving for fight sticks after Mr Sujano started doing whatever the hell hes doing :(
I think he's fully embraced the emulation side of his channel (and looking at his sub numbers and average daily views, I think he found what resonates best with his core audience). My interests are more singularly focused around fightstick/all-button content, so I'm pretty content to keep chugging along in this little niche, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting, gabe!
5:08 Just a little guy poking out, to the right.
lol I amuse myself by sneaking my little mask logo into the vids. I think I've done it for the past ~50, but you're maybe the 2nd person to ever comment on it. Thanks for watching/commenting!
COOL
whats the game at 0:01????
I don't think I played that one, so I'm not sure. :/ Maybe someone will come along and help us out. Thanks for watching!
The one closest to the camera is Pink Sweets, a Cave shmup. ピンクスウイーツ
@@ZackaryReaves Most of the one after that I believe CAVE games. That was in our cave section. @HushMySweet1 If you go to the Game Saru UA-cam on the EVO 2024 walk through Cereth walks through lots of the games.
Mistake my favorite
A modern day classic.
@@HushMySweet1 truly
Where's the Guitar stick amigo? 😅
I missed that one and the friggin' picnic basket one. Next time! (And thanks for watching)
Beatmania fightstick
Golden lever parts that asians use. Named Arslan lol
I think Pakistan is technically a southern Asian country, but maybe not what one would immediately come to mind when you mention Asia. Thanks for watching, dude!
He is Asian, did you skip school entirely?

Hey, a KingJae sighting! Thanks for stopping by to check out some sweet community controllers! Appreciate ya!
This makes my Chinese acrylic stick look really lame....
You got that custom art and splash screen?! lol, I'm sure yours is great! Thanks for watching, dude!
the best arcade sticks dont have sticks 😮
Some people disagree, but I round up and count our all-button brothers as arcade stick users (in spirit). I actually think more all-button content is posted on r/fightsticks nowadays than traditional levered builds. Thanks for watching!
POOR CIRNO FUMO
only 3 levered sticks featured -_-
All-button controllers are basically synonymous with fightsticks at this point. I help moderate the r/fightsticks subreddit and in the last two years, leverless controller postings have outnumbered the traditional arcade stick builds. It's crazy. Thanks for watching all the same, and hopefully I can spot more levered sticks next time!
@@HushMySweet1 I frequent and comment on the subreddit often, and I definitely see how popular leverless is. I feel like nothing is being done to preserve the traditional stick. When I see posts and videos where traditional sticks are getting featured less and less, it starts to reinforce the idea in peoples minds that "sticks are dead". Hitbox's marketing and a lot of misinformation being spread has also done a lot of damage a well. While I do think that it's great that there are a lot of alternative input options for people to use, I dislike that it's coming at the expense of Stick being phased out.
Thanks for your perspective! I get what you're saying and I'm obviously a huge fan of traditional fightsticks as well. I think K-lever enthusiasts are helping to hold the torch since that experience is so different to leverless, and then things like the Antagonist button also arguably help to keep things competitive for joysticks (though it didn't really catch on quite like I thought it might). And even though they've lost some ground, I don't think that traditional fightsticks are going away anytime soon. There were still tons of sticks in the Evo finals. So, fingers crossed we'll see a sizeable percentage of sticks in the years to come!
@@HushMySweet1 i will never accept any one calling a hitbox or mix box a stick there is no stick. they also allow the user to manipulate directional inputs to do certain things with incorrect inputs even with socd cleaning. none of them should be tournament legal
some of these controllers are..yikes...
lol, but even the cursed ones had a lot of heart, I felt. Thanks for watching!
