Daniel and Katie shows you how to make one of our favorite winter dishes... Korean Abalone Porridge! Abalone has a wonderful chewing texture. Chop it up and throw it into Korean Porridge. Best of all, use its liver (innards) and make a broth out of it. This is how you truly enjoy abalone - Korean Style!

If you're into sushi, you can try eating the abalone raw. It has a nice crunch to it. Simply slice the main nugget into much thinner slices and dip into some cho-gochujang sauce (or soy sauce!)

I like to cut small rows into less than 1/2 a centimeter of the abalone suction muscle. Then, I cut thinly across the grain of those slices with a super sharp knife. I cut it the way abalone sashimi is cut. It allows you to get many many more pieces of abalone than simply dicing. And they fall across the tongue in a small blanket so that you maximize flavor experience! Enjoy!

Not at all. Clam chowder is creamy from a dairy source and doesn't usually have rice... This is rice and is "creamy" from it's own starches. Think risotto w.o heavy cream
