Thanks for this demo. For those of you who'd like to know more, these are drawn from the ARPABET which is a phonetic transcription system created by the US Department of Defense. There is a good Wikipedia page about it. One thing I've found lacking in most attempts to transcribe American phonemes is the distinction between the vowel in BUY versus the vowel in BITE. These diphthongs would be AA-IY and AX-IY respectively. I think SynthV only supports diphthong AA-IY, spelling it as AY. I often don't see the BITE vowel even acknowledged in discussions of American phonetics. Strangely, phonetic transcription systems often draw a distinction between AH and AX, and I don't even think this difference is audible. I mean, who hears a difference in the two vowels of the word "above", at least in Amercan?
Dreamtonics does call it a "Modified ARPAbet" - presumably to be able to handle multiple languages and possibly because singing is more difficult with speech constrictions. The A.I. does a great job blending phonemes so for your example of "buy", you can enter "buy.iy" and it makes a dipthong which you have control of. If the dipthong was represented by a single character you could not split the AA-IY... like "Tell me why-ee?"
Thank you so much for those downloads! So much more pragmatic than phoneme reference I found. I still have Solaria issues...she says bucks fine but not sucked...lol...and in Cubase, I haven't been able to access the random seeds so I still have tons of work to make the vocal sound good...but except for sucked and tips, she is doing really well! Thanks for your videos otherwise I'm sure I never would have been able to get proper pronunciations and good vocal audio mixes.👏👏👏
I've found that the vowel spelled AX and AH don't sound 100% accurate, at least by American English standards. IH is not so great either. I've noticed when speaking to foreigners, at least Europeans, that these are some of the more difficult vowels for them to pronounce properly, so maybe it makes sense.
Question: Now that i'm getting my bearings... I find it difficult to find a way to begin a vocal sketch with Synth V in ARA2. It seems like I need an audio file to begin with, and if it's some random sound (like a Kick for example... or anything which doesn't sound like a voice) that the physics of the sound could cause weird tonal variances and reverberations to transmit through the vocal. This leads me to ask... "What is the best way to begin a vocal sketch with ARA2" so that we can draw or drag the notes in and simply write the lyrics above?
ARA version allows you to drag a regular MIDI part into the Synth V window... so you can work out a melody by recording notes from MIDI keyboard and drag them in.

Welcome back! Lol - thank you for these Mix Phantom :) your videos are always so aa [a]ppreciated.
What’s cool is the double: “hh”! Great for a “breath” just before a vocal.

Hey gianni, you should also experiment with the "br" phoneme.
@@utubewillyman Yes! That too!👍🏼😉

@@utubewillyman That does make sense...thank you for the insight.
Thank you for the demo and the chart, super useful :)

Thank you!!
Is it just me or is the 111 update just so bad...
Is that why it is still in Beta after many months? I still haven't downloaded it!
