I know I’m in a long line of people singing your praises, but another gem. Coincidentally I have a lot of the same tools you’ve used in your various vid’s (melody sauce, instacomposer, cubase, synth v,etc) and I always learn so much about them all! Thanks a bunch…
I don't know, the '88 version is too thin, but the '24 version appears to be too muddy (when listening on a TV soundbar, not headphones). Love hearing those 80's tunes, though. I also dug up some stuff I made back then and gave it a better sound last year. Partly also with Solaria 🎤
I don't disagree! I was experimenting with this track because I always hated that guitar sound... what I discovered is that the separated stems may seem usable, but if you push the EQ and compression on multiple tracks it exaggerates the "artifacts"... which seem to amount to modulated mud! A simple EQ cut would normally help but with extracted stems it draws attention. So, totally reshaping a sound doesn't work so well... 1-3dB level or EQ moves is probably the limit.
HOLY $#!* Man, you are QUICKLY becoming one of my top 4 most sought after video channels. I feel like waiting for your videos must be like what it felt like when one of the poor addicts from "New Jack City" were living at Nino Brown's "The Enterprise" complex. LOL Questions: 1) What did you use for guitar from MIDI? 2) Because I have issues with Synth V crashing during a process, I'm wondering if you ever have issues closing the "shortcut key" window after making adjustments to "Skip to the beginning" and "end" of the projects. It doesn't happen when making the adjustments... but "closing the window" after making the adjustments.
Thanks! Final guitar was me playing... MIDI was a quick way to transcribe my ideas. I have had a few random "bugs" using this beta v1.11 so your issue may be unique to your computer setup.
NICE,@@mixphantom0101! Thank you. Any chance of a Studio Tour? I'm trying to get myself setup here, and am juggling things i'm trying to figure out. Right now i'm trying to set up a Mackie Control Universal Pro for Nunedo/Cubase. BUT, I don't know which added functions would be recommended to add. I say all of this because if we know what you are using with Cubase (or nuendo) then we will be able to engage you more, ask better (more specific questions) and/or ask advice.
Hi! I just got Synth V do you have any tutorials to learn it or can you recommend anything before I jump in aimlessly? Your videos seem intriguing but I should probably learn basics before asking any stupid questions! I love I can sing in parts but I think I am jumping the gun
I totally agree! I convinced myself the having the extracted stems I could reshape the track - really a simple filter on the guitars and some resonance control on the vocals was all it needed.
The new mix has less top end which I can can even hear on these shitty PC speakers. My call would be a blend of the early mix with the new one. call me crazy..

Absolutely super - really enjoy what you are doing with Synth V!
Great workflow. And a pretty great 1980's authentic tune!

What! I didn't need Dubler after all?
Have you already made an eq preset fir cubse 13 vocal-chain plugin ? Would like to see that. Would really appreciate it.
Good work 👍- but I have to say on just one watch / listen of this video I prefer the original version; the raw-ness shines through...👍

Can you not just drag keyboard audio in for melodies and chords then convert to midi as in melodyne ?
Not sure I understand the question. Synth V is already MIDI - the Audio to MIDI feature is new and only works for monophonic notation.
Hmmmm actually 1987 sound more easy or natural (lol duh) 2024 is technically polished. Still like 87 abit more weirdly
I know what you mean.... it's probably because it was all analogue and on tape! 😎
