I absolutely loved this. Actually functional . And I like how it doesn't look like a scrap book. Sure those who like it can do it so. But I was starved for some examples that people actually use in daily life trying to balance work and home
I have looked at countless videos, pins, and IG accounts looking for insight into the whys of bullet journaling, and none have been as concise and helpful as you. You got a new subscriber!
I know this video is 4.5 years old, but I found it helpful. I do adult learning so I could relate to much of the content. I’ve tried bujo in the past but given up quickly. I’m really going to give it a go this time. Thank you!
I am a grad student about to finish up my degree in higher education. Your videos are helping me get prepared to go out into the professional world! Thank you so much for sharing what works for you, I know this is really going to help me get organized when it comes to job searching and in my everyday tasks in my GA position!
I just came across this when researching systems for grad school. I think so much of this will be applicable when I start in the fall. Thank you for sharing your system!
I just love your very straightforward, no-sweat philosophy of bullet journaling. The very fancy versions we see here and there are a great inspiration, but I feel much more drawn to your way of doing it, just diving right in and building it up as you go. Thank you very much for sharing.
It's cool seeing your teacher bullet journal, college edition! I'm an elementary school teacher and mine looks totally different! I like how you include the progress of your class throughout the year, its nice to be able to see how far they've come!
This is a work of art. Just came across the bujo idea yesterday and want to try it out, but this is so intimidating (and inspiring). I work in higher ed too, so thanks for the tips!
my work bujo-specific collections: PTO tracker, Achievements (for reference during self-review season), a list of requests for our database manager, and a list of someday projects (organize desk drawer...) for that mythical future when I'm less busy
Love this! I've been slowly incorporating the BuJo system with my office work job and finding inspiration online. You have some great ideas here that I'm going to snag! Thank you for sharing!
i use my work bujo for tasks and projects, getting stuff done. Calendar is all in outlook, so no point replicating as i work in an office. my personal bujo i mainly stick with the original and sometimes I make it pretty (colour pencil to shade letters or a bit of colouring in), sometimes totally minimalist. just depends on my mood on the day. i adore your lettering. i keep practising!
This is very helpful. Thank you! While I only started "official" Bullet Journaling this summer, I've been doing something similar to your work journal for years. Mine is primarily notes and curriculum planning. I also have some recurring checklists, like class set-up and wrap-up checklists (somewhat similar to your Teaching Prep spread). I appreciate your explanations in this video and your tour of the different ways you use this journal. I got some good new ideas. Thanks!
Your very good at what you do- the saying uhm is not an issue don’t let other people make you conscious- I never noticed until the comments, you are creative and working very well.
hey the project page with the division between notes and checklist/progress is REALLY inspiring! also got several more ideas from this video... i'm setting up my second bullet journal in these days and since i'm only using it for work this has been definitely helpful. thanks.
This was amazing! I'm also in that academic 'wearing lots of hats' work arena, and I'm suddenly realizing I'm not crazy for you having two 'planners' sitting on my desk all day.
I love this. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. Really really helpful. I’m a stay at home mom and I’m wanting to start a blog. I’m trying to get organized. I’m very excited. Your info is so helpful. I’ve watched a few of these over the last two days and yours is my fave.
this was so helpful! I loved all of the different lettering and personalization that you added to your BJ! I think the threading is such a helpful idea as well as the yearly overview! congrats, this was great :)
Really enjoyed your video! I'm not in Higher Ed...I'm in Healthcare but loved your ideas for spreads and the way you organize your BuJo for work. I want to move to more of a TN style for work because, like you, I like to group like things together. Loved the idea of the Rapid Log.
Hello! I'm a TA, researcher/masters candidate who also pretends to have outside hobbies and practice what I preach (nutrition and physical exercise). I've only been into bullet journaling for about two semesters so far AND I feel like you have a much better grip on how to segment things. My weekly "things definitely to do" log takes up two pages and is broken into different sized squares and rectangles depending on the importance of the class/project. Meetings have their own box just so I can see how much of week is taken up by administrational stuff. My monthly log is basically just a place to reflect and understand how much I've accomplished, it's very hard for me to get that log done BEFORE events but I fill it out afterward. I think I'm going to take some, ahem, pages out of your book and try some of your styles here! Thank you for making this :)
Love this. I'm a program manager and I am desperately trying to find an analogue way to track projects and my meeting notes. I've tried various ways and yours looks like mine. Some messy some artistic. I'm visual too. I have a similar setup but mine is left page for dated notes and right page to do list and technical notes. I was getting upset my my messy pages and now I feel good because at the end of the day Instagram perfect just isn't achievable... In Bujo's or bodies 💗😘
This was a really helpful video! I've been struggling with how to make the bullet journal system work for work. I use an Arc system from Staples (similar to using a fillofax) so I have distinct sections. This is helpful because I am involved in multiple on going projects and need things separate. One thing that I found helpful is to have a table of contents for each section that is broken into 3 columns: 1.Where (page numbers), 2. What, 3. Who (this is really helpful for my meeting notes and call notes). I too use Google for all appointments but I think I'm going to try a weekly spread (Work Week Preview for following week) to get a birds eye view of the prep I need to have done for each day (I'm in different locations for each project). I'm thinking I might need to put this in my reg. BuJo so I have my to-do's in one place like you suggested. Thanks for sharing!
Loved the inspiration this provides. If you ever get the chance, do you have any feedback for bullet journaling application on the other side (i.e. for college students - undergrad and grad)?
Threading is a great idea. New to me. Thank you for sharing. I think it would work well after a meeting, when I think up 1) a few ways to work one of the brainstorming ideas 2) useful resources for a project 3) alternatives/tweaks for a plan presented. To be able to QUICKLY bounce to another page and scribble (versus heading to Index page) while the ideas are fresh -- woohoo! (Indexing can happen later. Indexing is always nice closure for me anyway.)
What other fauxdoris would you recommend besides Foxys? They don't seem to have a whole lot of color options (or am I just looking in the wrong place?)
Curious if you could elaborate more on your EDC? (pink / yellow) and how you organize it. Looking at how to apply this to my type of work; engineer and lots of tasks come and go rapidly and can change priority on a dime so every day feels like fighting a fire.. That, paired with i have to keep work at work and have my own personal projects at home and then there's just regular life.. but then i feel like i need something for the in-between; get an idea at work but it belongs in a personal book, or remember you need to make an appt for something.
I graduated from college recently and I have to be honest, transitioning out of the school and study schedule mode is a little heartbreaking because I was confused on how to transition to adult/work life. I am hoping to keep bullet journaling.
I'm totally in the same boat with Google. It owns me. But I do love my bullet journal too. Do you ever use Google Keep or Reminders in Calendar or Tasks in Gmail? I feel like those are all great tools but my bullet journal fulfills that need for me.
I can't believe I am just "finding" you on YT! I love your and resonate with your style of notetaking ! I follow you on Instagram, but really loved the video and hearing you. AND that foxy! So pretty.
This is cool. I use a bujo for work, separate from my personal bujo because intellectual property and NDAs... I use a *gasp* moleskine XL notebook... But I see how the Leuchturrm would work, too. TFS.
What is the best way to add maps or pictures to a journal. I often prefer to print a map of a business trip into the journal, but never happy with how it looks or goes with everything else.
When I travel I like to include a basic, basic map of the place by sketching it. It was SUPER helpful especially with Boston that has a lot of different neighborhoods so I could plan excursions - if you don't like sketching you could google a sketch version to print and paste :)
It depends on the season - I am the curriculum writer for the whole course level so this summer I've read a TON of articles and literature to reframe some of the approaches we're taking for the class. Then a few hours re-writing assignments, gathering feedback, working with our faculty chair, etc. Soooo right now, a lot LOL. If you have tips, please let me know
I absolutely loved this. Actually functional . And I like how it doesn't look like a scrap book. Sure those who like it can do it so. But I was starved for some examples that people actually use in daily life trying to balance work and home
I absolutely use this every day and needs to have space and function!!
Its good to see bullet journals that arent picture perfect.
Exactlyyyyyyy

This is such a high compliment. thank you. I hope this works for you! I still do something similar and use the time-chart all the time :)

I’ve seen hundreds (literally) videos of BuJo and yours is the most useful of all!!!
T H A N K Y O U !!!!
I'm cry 😭 thank you!!!

StudioBAS do you have your spreads somewhere online? trying to get lots of ideas b4 I start my school Bujo (K grade)
Tamra Myers yeah, check out my channel!
This is a work of art. Just came across the bujo idea yesterday and want to try it out, but this is so intimidating (and inspiring). I work in higher ed too, so thanks for the tips!
Good tricks! I like the separate to-do index, the summary checkbox at the top, the messy + refined notes, and the mess-ups (honestly)! Thanks :)

Ditto. I'm pretty minimalist. Different colored pens are my whimsy touches. Pilot G has some great colors that are bold enough to read. Yay! :)

SO glad. you found some ideas you could use :)
I love this! Thank you for sharing - I'm starting a new job in October, and this is a great resource!

I'm very impressed that you've already started planning for next year.
I'm a new registrar at a large university. This may save my life and my sanity.
OOOF Good luck!!!
Lol, so not even one second into your video I'm like... My favorite pen... the Pilot G2 ... yaaas
Block Block Goose I've always loved that pen
I wish my work notes looked that neat and pretty. I like your sketch notes so much
Thank you very much for let us take a look on your journal! Would love to have my own version of it! Good luck for your teaching :)

Google owns me too! It's a running joke in my department. LOL... loved the notes/task layout!
Curious if you could elaborate more on your EDC? (pink / yellow) and how you organize it.

Thank you for sharing this. I will be using this spread in my journal.
Also in higher ed and about to start a bullet journal for the first time! Thank you so much for this. Did you go to NCORE?
No but I think I need to! I've heard such good things!!
I graduated from college recently and I have to be honest, transitioning out of the school and study schedule mode is a little heartbreaking because I was confused on how to transition to adult/work life. I am hoping to keep bullet journaling.
They need to teach a flight year class for graduating seniors.... But let me tell you a secret: we don't really have it figured out :)
I'm totally in the same boat with Google. It owns me. But I do love my bullet journal too. Do you ever use Google Keep or Reminders in Calendar or Tasks in Gmail? I feel like those are all great tools but my bullet journal fulfills that need for me.

Totally agree with categories for projects lists.. My brain works that way too
This is great! How many hours do you spend on researching and planning for your courses? Thanks for this wonderful video!

I'm so glad that I found your channel! I also work in education so this has been really helpful.
Educators unite :)
can you do a video on how to use a bullet journal for school
How can I find that specific cover? Do you believe they are out of stock?
They definitely have special designs that don't stay around forever :(
I really love this. thank for posting. Also - Your writing is amazing.

Are you still hiring? I'm graduating from a higher ed program and looking for a job! ^^;;;
Academic advising! That's the hope anyways.
New subscriber! I love to journal! I just created a princess Jasmine journal. I hope you come by to see it!
"As a cis-gendered man I really enjoyed that burger" - loved that. Also, was that a Pokeball I saw notes on? Great video, very informative :)
Intro is way too long.
I tend to explain my context and the why of what I'm doing - definitely feel free to skip forward!
drinking game: take a shot everytime she says um
