3:00 this is purely the reason I'm considering the cbr650r over the n400/500. But at the same time the lightweight nature of the n400/500 ahh its tough... decisions decisions. Plus that 4 cyl sound 👌
I’ve had the 2023 cbr650r for about a year now and no regrets. I commute with it daily about 75 miles round trip - mostly four lane highway. The cbr excels at 70 mph plus. I cruise at about 80 mph most of the time and have gotten up to around 105 a couple of times. You’re only at about 8,000 rpm’s at 100 mph (redline isn’t until about 12,500). I’m pretty sure it would hit 150mph if I was willing (I’m not😜). It’s the most comfortable sport bike I’ve ridden and that’s important to me (I’m an old guy😂). It’s really strictly for street riding - could got to the track but it’s really designed for street/highway. Not much low torque but great at the higher speeds.
The cbr650r in my opinion is the best 650 bike only because its inline four engine opposed to the ninja 650 parallel twin and the other parallel twin and 2 cylinder bikes.
I totally get it, I absolutely love my 250 but when its blowing hard is when I want a bigger bike as even at 60kph I have to lean into the wind some days just to go straight. But like everything in life there are pros and cons to everything. Glad you are loving the new bike mate!
As a taller guy I'm glad I didn't go with a Ninja 300 or anything too small. When I went for my learners I felt the 125 struggling getting to 80ks and knew I wanted to pay the bit extra to get into the 500cc range. Now I wish I had a windshield so I wasn't a giant sail on a naked bike but that's for future me to deal with haha. Can't ride for over 3 months now with a surgery on Friday so I'm pumped to get back into it when the time comes. Until then I'll be living through your videos 😅
I spend most of my time on the freeway for work but I ride a cbr500r. I think the 650 would be a nice gradual upgrade before going for something more powerful.
I had a Duke 390 before and it was a fun little nimble bike but on the open road it lacks a little bit of oomph, especially for me being 194cm and 100kg. When I got my CB650R, holy cow, it is in a different league. It's a way more substantial bike, way more powerful (obviously) and feels epic down a twisty road. The Duke was better around town when I'm just blasting from intersection to intersection but overall, it's not even a close comparison. The CB650R (and since they're basically the same, the CBR650R) are just phenomenal bikes all around. I used to own an MT07 LAMS as well and that was fun but man it feels like a way cheaper bike compared to the Honda.
Do you think a cbr650r is worth the price? I'm definitely looking towards upgrading soon but it's just so damn expensive. Love hitting top speeds on the M3 as well and gunning it down the dandy ranges
You're talking about this bike like it's huge. I think you're just too accustomed to small cc bikes. Although technically correct?; it was odd hearing you call it a middleweight, generally only refer to 700cc -900cc over 100hp bikes as middleweight
The MT07 and SV650 has been called middleweight forever! Where you get the idea it’s for bikes only over 100HP? lol Also I have an MT-09 and my W800 still feels quick and it’s NOT a fast bike. lol I’m so glad I don’t get bored easy.
Eh, the 650 class has been typically referred to as middleweight for quite some time. There's really no way you can call the 650r a lightweight when bikes like the r3, n400 (and anything below it) exist
Nearly all the 650’s are referred to as middleweights. Also the Aprilia 660 and the like. The cbr650r is a 95 horsepower 150 mph bike. It’s actually kind of high in the middleweight range.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Agreed 😆

is it ur first bike?

A bit late😅 but would you recomment it for a first bike@@someoneelse1i1i
Bigger bikes are definitely more comfortable on the highway, if I didn't have cruise control on my bike I definitely would have lost my license!
Woah that's a good point, cruise control would make it a lot easier to stay sensible on this...

You get the very fun fast revs with the inline 4, but it doesn’t have any low end torque

So true,
Thanks Jamie, it's a hoot!
Can't wait to see your reaction to a litre bike one day haha
haha you and me both 😆

Sounds like the 500 was the right choice.
Ah no! Hope everything's okay and that your surgery goes well
Cheers Kurt!
I'm considering this one to be my next bike
I have this one with full power and quick shifter , pretty happy with it. Use it for daily commute , have done 11000 kilometres in 8 months 😂

6:04 That's my exit, but I'm going to keep going because i'm having too much fun. Is exactly what I say to myself when riding. :D

Compare the cbr650r to the R7 please on the highway and in the ranges.
Great video 👍
Been thinking about getting it as a first bike and I can't decide whether to get the r7 or this bike need some help guys😅
650 gang boi
@stratos5326 do you have one?
Which software do you use to blur the speedometer?
I founf out that ninja 400 have so many pros and cons while this honda cbr650r is packed by technology and power
What restrictions does the cbr650r come with? Throttle limiter? ECU?
Do you think a cbr650r is worth the price? I'm definitely looking towards upgrading soon but it's just so damn expensive.

140 gets underwhelming fast trust me
Can someone break down the whole restricted vs. derestricted bikes?
I think it's a European age restricted motor tune
what mirrors you got on it? do they have DRL's in them?
What mirrors are these?
You tried the ninja 650r?
Do you mean the motorway and why is it in kph dude, sounds mint
Because metric is superior
its weird to hear some where in the world people buy somethin else then 50->125->+1000cc. its the rite of men.
Great video. Is that the stock exhaust on the bike in this video?
Thanks! Nope, it's a Musarri full system

@@HifeMan I'm just having the time of my life on a CB500F lmao. Feels good to not be insecure.

@@gutterrashrides The CBR650R weighs 20lbs more than a CBR1000RR. Ain't nothing lightweight about these bikes lol

Eh, called being lazy, higher capasity bikes do that.
