I Have the 23 CBR650R, new stacks, filter and exhaust, Tune it and this bike is a complete different animal. I dont need to upgrade for a while, its plenty fast enough.
I got a CB300R few months back after a 10 year gap of not riding motorcycles at all (was using car all this while) and it felt amazing. So I went ahead and booked the 2025 CBR650R!
Not everyone has the same experience when it comes to riding motorcycles, especially as a beginner. this bike for someone who has little to no experience with heavier, more powerful machines, I wouldn't recommend starting with the cbr650r. Instead, I suggest starting with a middleweight motorcycle in the 300cc to 500cc range. Bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja 400, Ninja 500, Honda CB300F, or Yamaha R3 are great options. These models offer a good balance of power, control, and maneuverability, making them ideal for new riders to build confidence and skill safely.
True something light if fall of can be able to pick the bike up if it a harley never be able to pick it up 👍
True, that's why I said it would be perfect if you have a little experience. If you have never ridden a bike before, I always suggest the Yamaha R3 as that is just about perfect.
@@INFAMAS haha, sorry i didnt remembered that part at the end of the video. keep going!
my first bike is a 2024 z500 i was thinking of this as a second bike iv tried my bros mt 09 and was good but drove in rain mode(litteraly didnt give her shit since its a 2024). im torn if this would be enough as responsible rider with out wasting money. was looking at zx 6r but want something for longer rides
@Nitzuls and you won't have any problems, believe me that this cbr650r is a frickin missile. It may not be the 120s hp, but it is still too powerful. You will never be left behind by any kind of high cc bike in a normal basis because obviously in a drag race a higher cc and hp / Nm will leave you behind. But yes, on a normal basis, every day commuting in the city or highway, etc. They will never leave you behind, of how powerful this bike is.
and also, the new 2024 model is wonderful sharp edges and aggressive looks. You won't regret nothing
Imagine you let a kid rev it and it’s in gear and you haven’t got your hand on the clutch
I got the naked e clutch and im loving it. Will eventually get the sport version in the coming years.
I learned to ride dirt bikes from 6 years old in Tassie, but didn’t bother with my road license until I was in my 30’s. This was just before the LAMS law came in. So I was stuck with a ZZR250.
LAMS is much more acceptable than the previous 250cc laws.
Now I have traveled a bit, I’ve found that Australia is extremely cautious in its approach compared to a lot of other countries.
Squiding in other countries is also very acceptable. Especially here in Dubai with 50 degree days in the summer. 😉😂
I currently have this one , bought it not knowing its lams version , was too excited about the looks, de restricted it and was much better afterwards, have put 12k kilometres in 10 months using as commute to work but now I want 1000fireblade 😂
I’m getting my CBR650R black with e clutch in feb(alr ordered but gotta wait for 3 months😭😭). Here is Australia, it is restricted by default to 35kw(i believe) but i wanna get it unlocked after i get my p plate. Hella excited for it
I’ve still got the same bike from last year, and even with the restriction, it’s no beginner’s ride. it’s definitely not in the same league as the R6 or ZX6R, but it’s miles ahead of the R7. If you’re on the shorter side, say 5’8” or under, keep in mind that this bike has a very aggressive seating position & it weighs 210 kilos. If you are a learner ,start with 400cc class bikes
bro i start with and old ass 2001 hornet 600, is fine you dont need to start with 400cc
Definitely nowhere near as aggressive as the r7 tho
Agree, best bike for semi beginner.
Technically speaking, this bike doesn't have a qickshifter since it's all just done by the eclutch function it's almost the same, just smother aprently as well as no need to use the clutch from first to 2nd
I get mine very soon. 🎉🎉🎉
Been riding my z300 ever since I got my Ps. It's been almost 2 years and I'm finally getting my cbr650r soon (hopefully in a month or two)! Chose this over the r7 and ninja 650 just cos I wanted an i4 lol. Now before anyone asks why I'm getting a restricted 650 when I could go for my unrestricted license, it's cos I probably won't go for my unrestricted license for a while
Imo this is like an intermediate bike like in nz, something like an r3 or Ninja 400 for your L plate bike . When u get your restricted getting a r7 or cbr650r is a cool option since once u get your full, u can just derestricted them
I love that color, I wish we got it in the USA
it should come out for 2025
Now that you’ve driven a few miles, has the check engine light come on from installing the full Akroprovic exhaust?
Nice bike 👍🏻I really love it.
It doesn’t have auto blipper, it is a cable controlled throttle.
Yes I know, I'm just used to calling down quickshifting, autoblippers. It doesn't blip but works the same otherwise.
' Pull de clutchin '
i got a 50cc now but will get a 125cc and then finally i will get a cbr650r
shorts makes it easier to grip the tank then tank pads... unless u have hairly legs 🙃
I want this bike so bad
That’s no longer a LAMS complaint bike with that aftermarket exhaust on it. I know quite a few people who have learnt that the hard way.
Can you describe what happened to them? Was it cops, insurance, or both? You don't hear many real-world stories so I'd love to know! Cheers.
@ In 2 cases cops did a random roadside check and fined the riders for failing to ride a LAMS bike (you’re effectively unlicensed). $1600 fine and 3 month loss off licence the third got just a $1600 fine. It’s a given that you will not be covered by insurance if you are riding a bike that 1) you’re not licensed for and 2) modified the performance
I'm definitely going to have a look at this for my first bike, looks, runs and sounds really well too!
So your R3 doesn't exist 😅
Best learner bike would be something like the Ninja or Z 400/500's.
Wait, does the E clutch only work for 1st gear or all 6? ngl that will be nice in the city have an older 400. looking at upgrading to cbr650r but if E-clutch is a QOL when you aren't spiritually riding that would be nice
Greetings from good ol tas mate! Lol!
New subscriber. I ride a 2018 gsxr1000r. Been riding for decades, doing track etc. Reason I started following is I’m buying a mt09DP. I’m 6.2 and you’re 6.3 I heard in one of your videos. Would you kind talk about your height as it relates to the mt09sp please. Thanks brother.
Hey bro, thanks for the sub.
I honestly have no issue on the MT with my height. It's never been an issue and feels completely natural for me!
@@INFAMASI appreciate the reply. Thanks buddy. 🍻
You gotta get the sit cowl
Is it restricted in Australia or something? In the UK it's 94ish bhp and not a "learner bike"
It comes in a restricted learner version, yes
@INFAMAS I see... in the UK, a learner bike is a 125cc!
I think LAMs is the equivalent of the A2 licence?
@alivekicking6247 the 125cc rule used to be a 250cc rule... now it's power to weight
Did you get an injection light on in your dashboard after the Akrapovic installation? I've got the CB650R e-clutch and my injection light is on after 120 miles. I m thinking to remap it.
Squiding are we. We'll give u a pass...this time 😂
I promise I didn't mean to 😭😭
God dammit still no ECE for the Akra on this bike.
Mate, what exhaust system do you have, it sounds fairly good..!
I mention it in the first 10 seconds of the video 😅
@@INFAMAS15 seconds 😂
I learned how to shift gears smoothly on my motorcycle without using the clutch, and without a quick shifter. So when I got on this motorcycle, I quickly got used to riding entirely without the clutch.
Would you pick this bike over the MT09 ? In asking because i just bought an MT09 24‘ myself before even riding it 😆 And the bike i had before was the 21‘ CBR650R.
No, I would choose my MT09 any day.
Good upgrade, you'll love it
Street Triple 660s has 5hp more, but the CBR is a close runner up.
@ what a stupid comment! Theres 5HP difference. Are you that dumb that you think that makes enough difference to say one is ok and the other isn’t? Seriously? I’m nearly 50 and a learner. A Street Triple for me is perfect. Why wouldn’t it be? Your lack of sense baffles me.
The CBR 650R has come a long way since the CBR 650F which had a curb weight of 215 kg. The new CBR 650R has a reduced cur weight of 207 Kilograms. That is still quite heavy for a beginner. I feel that 195 kg curb weight is my limit. Also, the engine of CBR 650R is wide. A twin engine is more compact, and easier to handle city traffic. A new biker is most likely to move up within two years, and Ninja 650 would make an ideal bike for beginner. The power is ample for a beginner. It has assisted clutch.

Where are you from mate I just bought a cbr650r 2024 in the Grand Prix red still waiting for it to come in and was thinking about doing the same exhaust to mine would you want to fit it for me?
Respectfully, idk if id classify the r7 as a beginner bike. Those are very torque deiven bikes.
In Australia they come in a learner version with lower HP
@INFAMAS oh okay I gotcha. I didn't know that.
Brand new 2024 model?
Buying in dec 2024? Shouldnt those be 2025 instead?
What windshield is that, its not stock right?
do you reckon this bike would be fine for a lad who rode a 125 for 2 and a half year?
u can get this restricted and then when u feel ready u can de-restrict it
how tall would you say youd have to be to ride this bike? im 167cm
I hate the 2025 version they should srick with this design
I’m confused cos I have the exact same bike lams aswell but mine only goes to 7000rpms, the settings on the bike aswell has been set to 12000 but still only max out to 7000. I’m in aus so same bike, same everything, just not getting the same rpms as you were hitting. I am in a break in period cos the bike is brand new, but just wandering if you had any thoughts at how I can get that fixed or checked or something?
tell the dealership and see if it can be fixed under warranty
sell the bike if you don't know what a break in period is bro......
Probably getting this as my second bike after my ninja 400. But you make it sound like it's lame and weak. Ninja 400 is 40 hp and this one is 90. I think it shouldn't be that lame? Plus I want the e clutch because I'm old and lazy.
How do you do a video review and you don't even go over the Owners Manual to see how to operate the settings? "What's this switch do" should not be a question asked by a reviewer when trying a new bike.
Your pants 😂
Remember to comments🎉
That bike is probably restricted to 35kw its so slow
Is getting this for uber eats and doordash, a good idea? I don't like mopeds, and got a few bucks saved up. I only have driven cars though.
The Handle bar is so ugly compare to CBR500R :(
to heavy for this class and minimum Safty tecnican
Automatic bikes?? The fuck is the point 😅
