The contact cement that you get from the hardware store is the same stuff made by the same company but it’s just a bit thicker so it doesn’t spray quite as well. I’ve been using it for 45 years as well but in the leather and construction business so, usually with a brush or a roller. But after your last video where you pointed out that you don’t have to clean the sprayer between uses… I now spray it because I’m venturing into upholstery. Mineral spirits will help it release… Acetone will kind of dissolve it but can be harsh on various surfaces and materials. But here’s a secret…. If you want to thin it or completely reconstitute dried cement… Get you some Toluene. You can get it just about anywhere you can get mineral spirits or acetone. You don’t even have to worry about letting the glue dry in your brushes. Just soak them for a few minutes in the toluene and the dry glue completely dissolves or reactivates. Thanks for the videos… They’ve been tremendously helpful.

My husband and I (65 & 64) are converting a cargo van into a camper. We’re complete novices. The van came with a metal partition between the cab and the rear. Functional, but kind of ugly and loud when banged into. After watching you do a new vinyl top on a car I got up the nerve to cover our partition with some lovely embossed vinyl. It looks beautiful, and I’m now confident the Landau contact adhesive will not let us down. Thank you so much❣️All the best with your move.

I love that your giving the contact adhesive a try. for some decades, I have only used mineral spirits as I have found nothing better. I think you will like it too for removing glue and spray spatter. Please keep liking and watching!
@@Sheryl_Redmond Hello Sheryl, It sounds like you did everything right. Now you can enjoy your camper van much more. Thank you for your well wishes. It means a lot to me. Please keep liking and watching!

Harbor freight has a battery powered spray gun I believe or maybe it’s Dewalt I don’t know but I’ve seen it
Hello Robert, I have never needed one. You know, I am old school. Don't fix it if it ain't broken. Hehe. Especially when I have paying customers. Please keep liking and watching!
another question do you use more than one supplier over the others I have been looking at some ad it seams like non of them supply everything needed by the way I own a leather shop making hand made leather products and just dabble in upholstery, doing it as a hobby and just for friends, keep up the great work making your videos
Hello Mr, I mostly use Keyston bros. There are several locations in the USA and they ship. When I lived in Denver and Phoenix areas, I never had a problem finding upholstery suppliers. Just Google, "Upholstery suppliers near me". Upholstery can also give you a nice income. Just sayin'. Please keep liking and watching!
Sticky Situation!!
Hello Unfinished, Yep, it takes two to glue! Hehe. Please keep liking and watching!
Hello, i am making a bed cover for a pickup truck. I will be spraying this same contact adhesive to vinyl and sticking it to an aluminum sheet. I have one of those Harbor Frieght guns, but mine is an HVLP . What psi do you recomend for my spray gun using this same contact adhesive ? Love your channel !
Hello HHS, Thanks for hanging in there with me. For a large area, I would say, 35-65 psi is ok. I think you will do just fine with your bed cover project. Please keep liking and watching!
