I love that Odysseus froze when Polites died, kept his eyes locked on him and even moved to him until the cyclops fell. Almost exactly how I pictured it. This whole animatic is so good
even after watching this animatic like thirty times, i only just realized something about this song, entirely because of the framing of the scene here where polites takes odysseus' hand to help him up after leap-attacking polyphemus. it zooms in on their joined hands, but polyphemus is staring right at them in the background. calculating. it's not coincidence that polites is the first to be killed by polyphemus' club, it's /personal/. "take from you, like you took from me."
The expressions, the complete mood shift when polites is killed, the fact that polites doesn't fight but is running around helping people, the lotus eater there, the way you showed Hector's son at "it's just one life to take" l, The cylcops THE FREAKING CYCLOPS, is there anything about this that isn't perfect?!
EXACTLY!! Something I find fascinating is the that Polities doesn’t get eye glints until the very end, it’s all confined to his glasses. There’s also the fact that Polyphemus kills the only one who wasn’t actively fighting him first, it really adds this layer of callousness to his character.
Fun fact, Polites actually doesn't die during the cyclops in the original myth. He lives long enough to get to Circes Island and convince Odysseus to leave Circe. He most likely died during Scylla or the thunder bolt that Zeus strikes Odysseus's ship
The flash of Hector's son at "just one life to take" is so genius and an unexpected gut punch on top of an already tragic song. Also the cyclops' design is amazing!
@@foolslayer9416 Jorge gave Odysseus the motif "when does a man become a monster?" that occasionally plays either in the background or the choir sings to hint throughout the journey that all the deaths have taken a toll on Odysseus, and it first happens when Poseidon finds him, right after letting Polyphemus live. It's really well done, and you see the man become a monster so he can return home.
This animatic scares me. The darkness, the quality of horror, the fact that you don't shy away from the gore and the pain and the nightmares. The fact that *nobody* looks human, they're all unleashing their inner monster to win the battle. I am in love
1. I expect to see Polites greet a club with open arms (Greet a club with open arms) 2. The design of the cyclops is amazing 3. The evil looking designs when Ody and crew were going to head into fight is awesome Overall, this entire thing is super cool and I haven't even watched it all
I know it's been said to death but I do love how you took a different look for The Cyclops than the traditional ogre look. Polymphemus voice always sounded so otherworldly to me it couldn't come out of and normally shape maw. The teeth look akin so some deep sea predators, couple that with the horse and how his limbs are jointed and you could see how he might be a sea gods spawn.
All I can say is... wow. You definitely did this song justice. The eyes of Odysseus and his men, Polites' death, (RIP 😭) the expression of absolute guilt and shock on Odysseus' face, everything was so well done
I am actually surprised how Polites ends up to die in Cyclops cave while in Odyssey he was with them even till Circe. Interesting they chose to add him die in here for drama reasons
Holy frick Not the "it's just one life to take" him holding the baby he killed earlier Also I love the Attack on Titan style of blade use you had Odysseus using Your Polyphemus design is absolutely beautiful, fitting for a son of Poseidon Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous
Whereas others love the animation and semblance. Could we appreciate that for once, Polyphemus is not depicted like a man with one eye but a monster who looks like the very same monster that would feel like the sea spat out?
The choir in the back at the 0:23 gave us hint already that polites gonna be pancake....I just realized this after 123456789th listened to this masterpiece.
Ughhhh at 0:21 the “straight ahead! That is who we’re fighting” and he turns the sword and shows the Cyclops! Omg. Then when it shows everyone’s eyes being RED at 1:42 because they’re tired of fighting and they don’t wanna die all they wanna do is get the fuck home, so they’re determined to kill him so they’re “journeys over” everything about this is perfect.
I have a love-hate relationship with this song. I love it because of the vocals, the music, the story and literally everything EXCEPT for the fact that Polites dies. And I thank you for capturing the essence of this song so well. Out of all the animatics I've seen for this musical so far, yours have been my favourite and the way you show the emotions on Odysseus when he is in war mode and after Polites is struck down is simply *chefs kiss*.
@@belinda1909 I WAS LITERALLY JUST FROZEN IN SHOCK AFTER I HEARD HIS "Ca-ptain" AND I DIDNT EVEN REGISTER THE REST OF THE SONG I HAD TO GO RELISTEN TO IT
@@prajnamanivannan4000 Went ahead and looked it up and the only thing that I can find that's about the Odyssey is "He is killed either by Scylla or the lightning bolt that Zeus throws at Odysseus' ship for his crew eating the cattle of Helios." So yeah, you're right.
0:42 I love the detail of the baby being “The one life to take” as if Odysseus is still thinking of the baby as nearly just a single life he had to take to ensure his journey can end the way he envisions.
I'm sure you know you absolutely KILLED this, but dude, you absolutely KILLED THIS!! Some of my fave things: the Polyphemus design, Odysseus's sword reflecting the eye, the reference to the infant, the Lotus eater still being there, Odysseus jumping off the ledge and flinging his swords around (that looked so cool!), the blood splashing on his face....I could go on. Thank you for making this!! It's incredible!
One small detail that I love is the eyes. The Cyclops and all of the crew members are shown with glowing red eyes, truly painting them as monsters! But the one exception is Polites, and his glasses, which are shown as normal or white. And then when the club comes down... the glasses shatter. Truly a masterpiece.
After watching it like 6 time I've finally realized why Ody slashing the Cyclops around 1:40 felt so familiar, its a Levi Ackerman reference and his way of killing titan , that's so awesome and clever omg
I LOVE the way you designed Polyphemus. And honestly, hope you are planning on making a animatic of "remember them" and of "Polyphemus". Just so we could see more of this design. That said, if you don't plan on making more. That's fair. Amazing work, great expressions, amazing switch of the mood upon Polites' death. So much that I love but can't find the words to explain why I love it.
Is it just me or is that monster creepy as heck and rest in peace dude with glasses and whoever made this animation good work you’re scaring me for life in a good way and get a job with the work but please don’t go to the next person that said you work next time please. And I hope all the Man that found peace in Valhalla, rest in peace. All those men that I got killed. 💐💐💐💐🌻🌻🌻
OH MY GOD??!?! THE BLOOD SPLATTERING ON ODYSSEUS'S FACE THE EXPRESSIONS THE EVERYTHING- god. this song already hit hard and you somehow made it even more heartbreaking
I LOVE how you drew Polyphemus! He looks so much more terrifying in an abomination sense as opposed to the usual giant human kind of terrifying And giving the soldiers glowing red eyes? Genius! Not enough people show how scary 30 armed people doing their best to kill something can be!
That's the thing that i love about this song is that even when Polyphemus is a monstrous giant, member of a race known for eating humans without any repairs, even when is apparent that all the odds are against them, Odysseus and his men are confident that they will kill the cyclops and is not until Polyphemus grabs a weapon that they give into despair.
@@hasturthekinginyellow5003 I mean they really were cooked when he picked up a club, even though realistically he should've been able to do that without the club. its like if I were to fight like 30 cockroachs, like I don't need a goofy bat to kill him
@@RalMaybe Polyphemus is not thaaat big. In general ancient myths Giants are not that big. Between 4 and 8 meters (Wich is a lot but 30 men could take u down)
At 0:33 The lotus eater looks so sad, and reaching out to Odysseus is so cute! And then, at the next scene, you see the flower on its head had been damaged.
There is so much I love about this animatic. The way the flower on top of the lotus eater’s head starts to lose petals gives me the portrayal that the idea of peace shown in “Open Arms” is falling to pieces when faced with true danger. Also, the way Odysseus attacked Polyphemus at 1:46 looks almost like Levi Ackerman’s god-mode. It gave me a giggle 😭 (iykyk)
I LOVE the design of Polyphemus! As other commenters have pointed out, all cyclopes are children of Poseidon, so making him look like something out of the ocean depths is on brand and terrifying in the best way! I also really love the way Polyphemus' eye reflects in Odysseus' sword at @0:23. Honestly, the way you play with and show light in this-- the shine on Polites' glasses, the glow in the soldiers' eyes and the glint off the swords, all gorgeous. The tone shift with Polites' and the others' deaths is amazing-- Odysseus' thousand yard stare and the soldiers' terror as their attack turns into a slaughter is haunting. Great job!!
I love everything about this video but my favorite part is when Ody takes the lotus eater off his shoulder and puts him on the ground to keep him safe 😢
THIS IS SO INCREDIBLE!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! The way you designed Polymphemus is so unique and absolutely terrifying. The transition from Astyanax to Polymphemus The shot of Polites at the first "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" The animation of Odysseus jumping to attack and spinning The RED GLOWING EYES of the soldiers Everything about this is so incredible. This is a cinematic masterpiece. I can't. Every second of this animatic deserves an award. The way Odysseus is frozen in place, when Polites is killed, the blood on his face from his dying comrades. Your work is so amazing every.single.time. I don't have enough words to express how much I love this and how incredible it is. How incredible YOU are. Honestly, thank you for sharing your masterpieces. I love seeing them so much ♥️♥️♥️
I'm not even joking but without watching any animations on the song. I visibly flinch when Polyphemus is swinging the clubs and killing everyone. My mom got concerned and I was on the verge of tears when Polites said, 'Captain?' 😭
oh. Oh my god. I am shaking from the absolute masterpiece that is this animation. There's so much to say, but i'd rather keep it brief! Of all the things that caught my attention, it was the glowing eyes that stood out to me the most! Though it might've just been for dramatic effect, I got the impression that it symbolized the murderous intent and rage felt by the warriors and the cyclops; because all of them were so caught up in the fighting, while Polites was the only one without that red glow. Said red glow also disappears after Polites dies :( Kinda like a wake up call to Odysseus. Aside from that, everything was so stunning! The choreography, the poses, the movement! All the emotions, the rage, the bloodlust, the desperation, it just squeezes my heart. Love the lotus eater there as well, and the ending where the cyclops collapses! What a clever way to show what happens next while using the final beat!
2:47 this would be an AWESOME wall paper if it were fully coloured in. even without the colour, it looks amazing. the sheer size of polythemus, overshadowing them all. the fact you can't see the lower part of his legs makes it even scarier, cause it means he's standing on something lower or further behind, yet still towers over them all.
Jorge should hire you to make a full animation like a movie for his musical because this is EPIC. I'm speechless. I understand it's a ton of work, but please do more
Love love LOVE this! First, that is truly one of the most terrifying depictions of a cyclops I've seen. Second, the glowing eyes are SO cool! I like that they indicate not only the bloodlust these men feel, but also serve as reminders that these men are experienced, efficient, and truly lethal fighters. They have been at war for many years, and with Odysseus as their leader, under whom they helped secure the victory over Troy, they probably feel a sense of invincibility. It almost seems like just another round of battle to them. But this is not an ordinary foe, and everything about this song and the animation does a wonderful job of capturing that moment of horror when the men realize it.
I am floored. I have never liked the Cyclops Saga nearly as much as the Troy saga but I think you have just changed that. All of it was perfect but i especially love how you portrayed all of their deaths and Odysseus' reaction. The blood on the face and the side scenes were incredible. All in all 1000/10
This is absolutely amazing. But after one of our cars pounced on my leg while I was listening to this all I can imagine is just a bunch of kittens trying to climb/"hunt" their human and are at first humored only for the human to gently bonk one with like. A cardboard tube. Rest of the cats all just being dramatic
you will see me commenting on every single one of your epic animatics because i can't help how joyfull these make me. i'll repeat what the others said about the cyclops design it's so uniqe... a fighting scene seems challenging but you did so so well once more. i loved the emphasis on ody/polites brotherhood before him being killed and also the red eyes while they fight . timing always perfect. thank you for this
It's so relieving to hear people like the cyclops design. Honestly I was a bit anxious many would say something like "This is not how greek myth cyclops look like at all" etc etc. So thank you! ^^
i have so much things to say but the "it's just one life to take" with the baby flashback is so clever wow... Polymphemus's design is so incredible and great i can't even put words on how much i love it. The expression, the way Odysseus seems to live for the action, i'm in love with your talent and style. This is awesome, wow.
Loved the kind of eldritch vibe you went with for Polyphemus. I've been picturing him as a much doofier looking Cyclops so I really like this version with some menace
THE WAY YOU DRAW THE CYCLOP !!! I love this so much ! All of it ! But how inhumane you made the cyclop look is so good ! Cyclops are so often depicted as just giant people with one eye but here you really draw it like something completely alien. Love that Also the quick reference to Hector's son is perfect too !
Did you know my High schools curriculum about The Odyssey is using your animatics as assignments 😭😭 I was going insane when I saw your channel being pulled up on the document camera
The little details get me every time! That moment when Odysseus sings, "Fight, fight, fight" and he looks back at Polites, you can see Polites' glasses reflected in Odysseus' eyes so you know he's trying to get him to fight too.
Honestly, you REALLY managed to capture the complete horror and devastation Odysseus feels when Polites dies. Like, Ody THROWS UP in his hands, that's how horrified he was at the sight of his dead best friend! I just really like that added touch, you made the scene more emotionally complex (at least for me). Looking back (we're in the Ithaca Saga now btw) I can see that watching Polites die started the beginning before the end, since we all know damn well that had it been anyone BUT Polites to die it wouldn't have mattered that much to Odysseus. I mean realistically, despite the fact that no one's died in the war, Oydsseus knows that death was a HUGE possibility. The death of the men in the cave would be more embarrassing than tragic to him, had Polites not been harmed. Like imagine taking 600 men to war and no one dies, then after that you enter a cyclops cave and a few men are brutally killed 😑. Ody would feel embarrassed as FÜCK! (but it would be okay though since Polites would be right by his side to comfort/reassure him). sorry for the rant 😂
I also realized that Polites death opens up an emotional barrier in Ody. Now Ody feels the death of all the other men adding on to the death of his best friend. I honestly saw it as each death is a brutal reminder to Odysseus that he couldn't save them, just like he couldn't save Polites.(U know, besides Scylla 🙃) Like I mentioned before Polites death was the beginning of the end for Ody, u know realistically 😅.
I just realised at 1:57 polites helps odysseus up after striking polyphemus and polyphememus looks at that and its no wonder why polites is the first to die "Take from you like you took from me"
1:35 the lines with the animatic really give off a very, very specific vibe, I don’t know how to describe it or what to compare it to OH THAT’S WHY I WANTED TO COMPARE IT TO ATTACK ON TITAN
Ok ima just 1) awesome animatic 2) we can really see a lot of little things and I’m going to analyze the hell out of this so… At the start we see odyssey’s eyes light up all red when he reflects the cyclops own eye with his sword. I’m going to come back to this but the fact the they both have the same angry glow is already scary He picks up the lotus eater and sort of flings it around a bit showing he isn’t really thinking that much as he is telling his men his speech. We than see the main focus of this comment (and animatic) Polites, his glasses glowing with a yellowish tint instead of the red we see in the other characters. He gives a ether uncertain or uncomfortable look at his friend. Odyssey puts the louts eater on the rock he was standing on and runs into battle, both the lotus eater and Polites seem to try to call him back. The louts eaters flower seems to start wilting. We see a flash of the fleet and than one to hectors son (probably being yeeted off the wall of Troy) before returning to the present. Odyssey has a… unhinged ? Look to him and we see that the rest of his men (besides Polites) have the same red glow in there eyes. It shows the cyclops, his men charging, and than Polites. Polites looks like he is way to at peace with the situation, his expression is hard to read but he looks like he realizes something or like he’s almost silently saying something to Odyssey or asking a question. We get a shot of Odyssey looking back to where Polites is. It feels like he’s specifically telling Polites to fight, he also doesn’t have the red glow in in his when he looks at Polites. Odyssey gets a second sword form Eurylochus, and at “attack from behind, keep distance in mind.” He attacks from the front ant gets really close to the cyclops. Someone who is either really badass or really dumb throws a spear at the cyclops, and Odyssey goes full attack on titan. Polites instead of fighting throws his sword away seemingly helping the others in the chaos or, trying to stop things from getting more out of control. The lotus eater’s flower is wilting much more clearly with petals falling around the poor thing. Odyssey is now above the cyclops and there is a close up of his men most of them only being silhouettes aside from the red eyes. Odyssey jumps at the cyclops and slashes them with his sword. Polites helps Odysseys up he again has the yellowish glow in his glasses We see Odysseys and Eurylochus do a mid-battle high five, Polites looking away from the camera, the cyclops, and the rest of the men in the cave in quick succession. Polites turns looking up his eye now glowing with she same glow that his glasses have before the screen cuts out. We see Polites forearm with blood splattered on it his glasses fall broken away from him still glowing. Odysseys freezes and starts hyperventilating others around him die and blood splatters on his face. (side note I’m pretty sure Odysseys has a panic attack or something similar as when I have panic attacks this is what I do. instead of curling up on the floor some people just stand there everything feels like it’s so far away except for what your focused on.) Odysseys pukes probably because a mixture of the adrenaline finally subsiding, the already mentioned hyperventilating, and most importantly Polites death due to the reckless charge. Odysseys has gone into complete shock He reaches out to Polites body and it shows more of his men dead or dying and he doesn’t react until Eurylochus forcefully grabs him (second side note Odyssey’s reaction of pushing away Eurylochus and running towards the danger to get to Polites makes me more confident that he is having a panic attack or emotional breakdown he’s focused on Polites and all other reflexes or reactions to danger get overshadowed) he pushes Eurylochus away and cradles Polites’s body in his arms. I’m going to bed now lol probably finish the analysis tomorrow
This is officially the first full animatic of this song and it is glorious~ How you portray both the characters and action is gratifying. You linking back to “Just the Man” with “Just one life to take.” Is creative with a layer of tragedy underneath. The way you show the fight scenes with Odysseus and the soldiers with so much bloodlust and confidence helps build up the hopelessness when Polyphemus starts demolishing them one by one while Odysseus watches on in horror. The scenes of the soldiers being massacre is blissful nightmare fuel. I especially resonate how you imagine Polyphemus as this lanky creature from hell as opposed other artist’s more human like approach with the character. Your design for him is definitely what I think the Greeks would’ve imagine when thinking of a cyclops. I’ll love what direction you’ll go with the character in his own song “Polyphemus.” ❤👁️❤
I FIND THIS AND I'M IN LOVE!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! THE CYCLOPS! I GASPED WHEN I SAW ASTYANAX WHEN "IT'S JUST ONE LIFE TO TAKE" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
This is AMAZING!! the Polyphemus design is incredible - much more terrifying than anything I’ve ever seen or imagined, but more fitting too. And the flashback to holding the infant…incredible work, as always. I really hope you do more - these are the best.
Is it bad that I was actually kind of rooting for the cyclops when I watched this after the previous animatic? He lashed out because they killed his favourite pet sheep and I felt so much sympathy when he cried over it. And when you see the people with these cold, hateful expressions at 1:42 while singing about planning to kill him, i couldn't help but feel like they were the real monsters. They were the ones invading the cave and killing the sheep in the first place. The cyclops was just living his life, defending his home and wanted to avenge his pet. (Even though the men had no idea what they did and were just trying to get out of this alive but I just felt so bad for the cyclops. I also adore his design.)
While I feel for the guy, and these humans aren't saints by any means... At the end of the day, its one life versus 50 or however many there are. The fact that Polyphemus made it out alive may or may not cheer you up. I mean he has Divine Nepotism so even his eye might end up being okay,
@@niserresin2006 Yeah polyphemus is okay, and tbh I would do the same thing he did if I was him, but God.. Polyphemus is so terrifying in this.. and in general.. the absolute dread that he induces as he crushes them one by one will always give me chills
You're doing great work with these. Nobody is doing better than you at artistry when it comes to Epic animatics. The only thing that takes me out of it is glasses in ancient Greece, but I can forgive that for everything else being so perfect
Oh my gosh, I've never seen a scarier cyclops design! This is incredible! Also the rest of the animatic - the fight scenes and everything. I really like that you actually animated the fight scene - many other artists on UA-cam get lazy and stop animating the piece as soon as it gets to a fight. Also showing the blood splashing on Odysseus' face while seeing other scenes in the cave around him is such a good idea! In my opinion that represents the horror he and his men are witnessing very good (alongside with the cyclopses scary design). And I really like the fact that one of the lotus eaters joined them on the journey to the food filled cave because I simply love the lots eater design XD Keep up the great work, watching your animatics is always a couple of minutes well spent! 🤗
i always head cannoned with this song that ody was so blinded with anger and pain and being distracted commanding the rest of the crew that he didn't see an attack coming his way and polities pushes him out of the way and pretty much sacrificed himself.
I have to say this is the most original design for a cyclops that i have ever seen. And its incredible. The sea creater head the hourse feet is so cool. I really hope these songs become a real musical
Oh wow, this is incredible. I really like how monstrous you made the cyclops, and how everyone's eyes glowed with bloodlust except for Polites. 1:19 “show him that were deadly!”part I love (I forgot his name) jumps from behind right on beat and throws the spear at the cyclops! 😮✨
Holy frick
Not the "it's just one life to take" him holding the baby he killed earlier
Also I love the Attack on Titan style of blade use you had Odysseus using
Your Polyphemus design is absolutely beautiful, fitting for a son of Poseidon
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous
He TRIED to Kill
Nah Polyphemus aint no more son of Poseidon hes now the son of Hades
Whereas others love the animation and semblance. Could we appreciate that for once, Polyphemus is not depicted like a man with one eye but a monster who looks like the very same monster that would feel like the sea spat out?
The choir in the back at the 0:23 gave us hint already that polites gonna be pancake....I just realized this after 123456789th listened to this masterpiece.
How? I don't understand it
It literally says “Pol is dead”
Its saying "Polympheus" "Poly-mpheus" at least to my knowledge @Mystic-Nights
Yeah, hate to say it, but, that particular line is split up in to
"Po-Ly-Phe-Mus". listen a bit closer
@@Mystic-Nightsi didn’t notice until just now and I have been listening to this for 1 month or less
I agree with this so much. I love the begining of the song, it gets me so hyped, and by the end I am a sobbing and terrified mess.
@@belinda1909 I WAS LITERALLY JUST FROZEN IN SHOCK AFTER I HEARD HIS "Ca-ptain" AND I DIDNT EVEN REGISTER THE REST OF THE SONG I HAD TO GO RELISTEN TO IT
It's sad, but he dies in the story; including historical stories.
@@ezrathing Yeah but he lives until Circe's island at least in the actual Odyssey
@@prajnamanivannan4000 Went ahead and looked it up and the only thing that I can find that's about the Odyssey is "He is killed either by Scylla or the lightning bolt that Zeus throws at Odysseus' ship for his crew eating the cattle of Helios."
So yeah, you're right.
Thank YOU for watching it!🙏
they absolutely killed Polites too
1:33 poor little guy. He's so sad or scared. He's so cute
❤😭❤😭❤😭❤😭

2:14 I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE
YOU ARE RIGHT I AM 😭
CANT WE BOTH BE CRYING?
WE ARE MUCH OF CRYINGS
YOU BETCHA I'M CRYING POLATIES IS THE BEST CHARACTER😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
One small detail that I love is the eyes. The Cyclops and all of the crew members are shown with glowing red eyes, truly painting them as monsters! But the one exception is Polites, and his glasses, which are shown as normal or white. And then when the club comes down... the glasses shatter. Truly a masterpiece.
This comment needs to be higher up! I didn't notice that until you pointed it out, but now that you mention it, WOW 10/10 choice
Dayum, despite Polites being arguably the biggest (unintentional) killer of them all.
After watching it like 6 time I've finally realized why Ody slashing the Cyclops around 1:40 felt so familiar, its a Levi Ackerman reference and his way of killing titan , that's so awesome and clever omg
The song sampling the Attack on Titan theme song is so satisfying
I LOVE the way you designed Polyphemus. And honestly, hope you are planning on making a animatic of "remember them" and of "Polyphemus". Just so we could see more of this design. That said, if you don't plan on making more. That's fair.
Amazing work, great expressions, amazing switch of the mood upon Polites' death. So much that I love but can't find the words to explain why I love it.
It was AMAZING. The design. The expressions. The colors. The timing. The entire animation. MIRCSY YOU HAVE OUTDONE YOURSELF.
1:45 bro watched attack on titan too many times XD
OH MY GOD??!?! THE BLOOD SPLATTERING ON ODYSSEUS'S FACE THE EXPRESSIONS THE EVERYTHING- god. this song already hit hard and you somehow made it even more heartbreaking
WHOA THE BLOOD SPLATTERING ON HIS FACE AND THEN HIS HAND REACHING OUT?? I almost cried. This is incredible.
2:25 love how that one guy was still trying to sing, even when he was right about to be killed
I LOVE how you drew Polyphemus! He looks so much more terrifying in an abomination sense as opposed to the usual giant human kind of terrifying
And giving the soldiers glowing red eyes?

The AoT reference to Levi was great and the cyclops design was awesome definitely felt monstrous
0:45 the switch from the infant to the cyclops??? also can I say that this is the single most terrifying design I’ve seen for the cyclops :0 amazing
I am a man of simple tastes. I see new mircsy animatic, I click
And then I cry all over again but holy hades isnt it just majesitc in its superiority
Don't cry, here, have some pancakes- 👀
The transition from Astyanax to Polymphemus
The shot of Polites at the first "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT"
The animation of Odysseus jumping to attack and spinning
The RED GLOWING EYES of the soldiers
Everything about this is so incredible.
I love seeing them so much ♥️♥️♥️
I thank you for taking the time and watching them!🙏
Everything about this comment ^^
@Julia Riddle Yes LOL When I heard the song for the first time I knew I must refer to AoT
My thoughts exactly!!
I understand it's a ton of work, but please do more
Bet I will! All of the songs are too inspiring not to make animatic on them
@@that.drawer.mircsy I heard Jorge reacting to your videos and he was definitely amazed! Also your vids are amazing! Pls keep making more😊❤️🙏
Love love LOVE this!
Question, at 2:33, was he crying or puking... Love this animatic. The unique design of the Cyclops is so cool.

OOO that flashback to the infant felt like a punch in the gut omg, I love that detail
The cyclops design is horrific and truly sells the horror of the situation. This is amazing.
Hah
OH. MY. GODDDDDDDDDD "It's just one life to take" and paired with the image of Astyanax?!?!?!?!? The tears are FLOWING ASJKJJKJKSJSKKJSKSJSKS
you will see me commenting on every single one of your epic animatics because i can't help how joyfull these make me. i'll repeat what the others said about the cyclops design it's so uniqe... a fighting scene seems challenging but you did so so well once more. i loved the emphasis on ody/polites brotherhood before him being killed and also the red eyes while they fight . timing always perfect. thank you for this
It's so relieving to hear people like the cyclops design. Honestly I was a bit anxious many would say something like "This is not how greek myth cyclops look like at all" etc etc. So thank you! ^^
2:11 Polites really said "greet the club with open arms"
i have so much things to say but the "it's just one life to take" with the baby flashback is so clever wow... Polymphemus's design is so incredible and great i can't even put words on how much i love it.
The expression, the way Odysseus seems to live for the action, i'm in love with your talent and style. This is awesome, wow.
2:20 that instrumental music literally gave me the same feeling as Rains of Castamere in Game of Thrones- getting literal chills rn
Loved the kind of eldritch vibe you went with for Polyphemus. I've been picturing him as a much doofier looking Cyclops so I really like this version with some menace
1:52 why does polites look ready to kill odesius?
If you look at his eyebrows he looks worried, because he doesnt like fighting and wants to solve things without violence, like seen in “open arms”
THE WAY YOU DRAW THE CYCLOP !!!
I love this so much ! All of it ! But how inhumane you made the cyclop look is so good ! Cyclops are so often depicted as just giant people with one eye but here you really draw it like something completely alien. Love that
Also the quick reference to Hector's son is perfect too !
the cyclops saga has been by far my FAVORITE out of all the sagas so far! really love your animatic! absolutely love the design for polyphemus here
Holy...this is incredible. Your polyphemus is so unique. The movements are so dynamic I just can't put into words how impressive this is!!!
Yeeeees hahahaaaa🙌
I absolutely love the cyclops design here, one of my favorites I've ever seen!
The image at 1:29 is excellent good job
The Polyphemus design is absolutely phenomenal. I’m at a loss for words, honestly, and not just because I’m heartbroken. Marvelous work!
That shot where everyone is standing together and their eyes are glowing gave me chills. I can't express how much I love this animatic!
This animatic is absolutely gorgeous. The detail you put into each scene is incredible. This is a masterpiece.
There are no words, just the best animation😮
I want more of this
Edit, i think it's a good parallel where Odysseus did not want to kill hector's kid, but charged head first to fight polyphemus
You’ll get more👹 (hopefully)
I just realised at 1:57 polites helps odysseus up after striking polyphemus and polyphememus looks at that and its no wonder why polites is the first to die
"Take from you like you took from me"
YOOO I DIDNT KNOW YOU FINISHED IT
Oh that Polyphemus design is so sick
I slowly catch up to others lmao
1:35 the lines with the animatic really give off a very, very specific vibe, I don’t know how to describe it or what to compare it to
OH THAT’S WHY I WANTED TO COMPARE IT TO ATTACK ON TITAN
“ noooooo don’t leave me papa! “ 0:33
“ Papa is going to die D: “ 1:34
I'm loving these animatics, feels like a mini movie series
Ok ima just
1) awesome animatic
2) we can really see a lot of little things and I’m going to analyze the hell out of this so…
At the start we see odyssey’s eyes light up all red when he reflects the cyclops own eye with his sword. I’m going to come back to this but the fact the they both have the same angry glow is already scary
He picks up the lotus eater and sort of flings it around a bit showing he isn’t really thinking that much as he is telling his men his speech.
Polites helps Odysseys up he again has the yellowish glow in his glasses
We see Odysseys and Eurylochus do a mid-battle high five, Polites looking away from the camera, the cyclops, and the rest of the men in the cave in quick succession.
This is AMAZING! Thank you for taking the time and writing it🙏
@@that.drawer.mircsy aww thank you did I get the panic attack part right? I’m honestly curious what you were going for with that part

This is the video that got me into EPIC, I’ve been obsessed ever since
This is officially the first full animatic of this song and it is glorious~
How you portray both the characters and action is gratifying.
I’ll love what direction you’ll go with the character in his own song “Polyphemus.”
❤👁️❤
I FIND THIS AND I'M IN LOVE!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! THE CYCLOPS! I GASPED WHEN I SAW ASTYANAX WHEN "IT'S JUST ONE LIFE TO TAKE" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Omg that's brilliant! Your time was definitely well spent (EpicTM pun not intended lol 😂). The resemblence in those frames is SO GOOD 😳
This guy knows how to write a story.
This is AMAZING!! the Polyphemus design is incredible - much more terrifying than anything I’ve ever seen or imagined, but more fitting too. And the flashback to holding the infant…incredible work, as always. I really hope you do more - these are the best.
damn you got CRAZY with the cyclops design. he feels like a real monster. I love it.
And I really like the fact that one of the lotus eaters joined them on the journey to the food filled cave because I simply love the lots eater design XD
Keep up the great work, watching your animatics is always a couple of minutes well spent! 🤗
This cyclops design is so good
i always head cannoned with this song that ody was so blinded with anger and pain and being distracted commanding the rest of the crew that he didn't see an attack coming his way and polities pushes him out of the way and pretty much sacrificed himself.
Oh my God I love that yet hate it at the same time
The end of this song everytime i listen to this animatic i don't even want to move I'm terrified Props to you

The "ENOUGH" tho 2:15
I have to say this is the most original design for a cyclops that i have ever seen. And its incredible. The sea creater head the hourse feet is so cool. I really hope these songs become a real musical
Oh wow, this is incredible. I really like how monstrous you made the cyclops, and how everyone's eyes glowed with bloodlust except for Polites. The way his glasses flashed white instead of red really drew the attention to him, building up the tension that something would happen to him. Amazing detail! ^_^
I've heard this song several times already but seeing this with the music made my mouth drop
