0:06 all the animatics I’ve seen of this song show that first whoosh as the killing of the sheep but in my head, I pictured in as someone walking into a puddle in a cave
I've watched this repeatedly since I found it yesterday and I think my favorite part of this animatic is the look on Odysseus' face when he's singing "Nobody - Nobody - Nobody". The way you've drawn him, it looks less like he's calmly lying under pressure and more like he's casting that word over Polyphemus, into the future, like an arrow shot past an enemy to strike at a target further back. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch your version.
I adore the bits of comedy, how they realized they fucked up and try so hard yet so miserably to cover it up,and the genuine distress and sadness when he says that sheep was his favorite
I'm tearing up?? This is so great, it makes me feel as if I'm listening to the song for the first time all over again. The expressions and little split second movements are fantastic, the color change as Polyphemus' eye opens (and the way it opens??? oh my gosh). Odysseus standing on guard in front of all his men, but also Polites has his arms out slightly in a way that could be seen as wary and protective of the others as well? Eurylochus braced for a fight from the get go as opposed to Ody and Polites? The smile Polites has right before the ultimatum is dropped and the relief all three of them have? The very last frames and the desperation the running motions convey? The fact that the animatic remains in the red light even for the moments Odysseus believes they will get out without a fight and the ominous feel that gives to the viewer, even if the viewer might not have the outside knowledge of knowing what happens next - because they are still in danger, and the sense of peace is false. The little details of many of the frames after Polyphemus first appears being changed on that low beat that plays, ugh, it's so great. The emphasis on Odysseus' hands when talking about power, because he holds all the power here for the lives of his men, and for the final say of if Polyphemus later dies? The details here are AMAZING. I am so, so ready to see more of whatever you decide to create, EPIC related or otherwise!!
Out of all the animatics of Epic I’ve seen, this has to be one of (if not) my top favorites. Like, it’s actually so freaking good? I love all the silliness too
There's SO many good details in this animatic, but one I don't see anyone else commenting on is when Odysseus says "No bloodshed in here today" and it shows the sheep he killed as he backs away. Nice.
Amo que esta canción se resuma a: Odiseo "el nobody": sorry por lo de la oveja, tomate este vinito y vamo a calmarnos. El cíclope literalmente después de aceptar el intercambio: bueno como decía, los voy a matar a todos.
The red light is SO COOL!!! And everyone's expressions are so well drawn!! Loved the tiny Eurylichus and Polites during the cyclop's first verses aldbfkgkgk
I don't know if it's intentional but Polyphemus's expression for the whole part about them killing his sheep just screams "Yeah, okay, I was going to have a me day but I guess we're killing Grecians"
Oh. My. God. I can't believe one of my favourite artists just made the most perfect animatic of the musical I'm currently fixated about. I love you, beautiful work!

I've gotta hand it to you both This is quite the treat There are enough sheep here to Feed the entire fleet It's almost too perfect Too good to be true Why would the lotus eaters pass up on all this food? Who are you? Hey there! We're just travelers We come in peace You killed my sheep My favorite sheep What gives you the right to deal a pain so deep? Don't you know that pain you sow is pain you reap? Time to drink your blood over where you stand Your life now is in my hand Before I'm done You will learn that it's not so fun to take You came to my home to steal But now you'll become my meal A trade you see? Take from you, like you took from me There's been a misunderstanding We never came here to steal But now that I see we've done some damage Maybe you and I can make a deal I'll give you our finest treasure So long as we leave alive You can keep the world's best tasting wine Wine? Have a drink! One sip and you'll understand The power that's in your hands A wine so fresh You'd never wanna eat human flesh again Then we shall be on our way No bloodshed in here today A trade you see? A gift from you and a gift from me Ahh I'd like to thank you Stranger, what's your name? My name is Nobody, Nobody, Nobody Nobody For your gift I've one to reply I'm so glad we see eye to eye Yes You shall be the final man to die What Watch out! {These are the lyrics...}

Love love love this! Been waiting for an animatic of this song. I always picture the “eye to eye” part with Polyphemus like right up in Odys face tho, so they are literally eye to eye.
Oh man I looked up this song at the perfect time 😳 your animatic had me wondering what order the songs come out and what happens to Polites. Glad I had this to help visualize this part of the musical! Awesome job 🥰
He dies. 😂 Lol sorry that was so crude of me. But he dies in the next song “Survive” but it’s at the VERY end of the song. He’s the one who says Captain at the end first after the big SLAM. That’s why Odysseus doesn’t respond until a few beats into the next song. Because he was in such shock that his best friend had just died. Hope this helps!
after listening to this song I can't stop imagining the cyclop as nothing different then an enormous ogrelike completely black shadow with only his eye and the inside of his mouse visible
Dammit I love this version better than the one that’s out now 😂. You can feel his nervousness and urgency of trying to get away versus the newer version he’s still full of cocky confidence in the face of danger
Today is my first time hearing this song (I really gotta listen to the entire soundtrack that's been made) and just the line "you shall be the final man to die" is such a great foreshadowing!
"dont you know that the pain you show is the pain you reap?" I mean, Odysseus sowed a LOT of pain with the Trojan Horse and killing the infant, he is pretty much reaping it the rest of the musical
i seriously love seeing all the different interpretations of epic the musical animated its seriously amazing how similar but different each one is and they’re all just amazing
I’m obsessed with how amazing this animation is. There’s so many small details that are amazing everyone’s pointing out. One I haven’t seen anyone mention is how at the beginning the whole cave is blue or gray like normal but quickly turns to red and stays that way
a nice detail is how you pan to the sheep when Ody says 'No bloodshed in here today', it shows that indeed blood has been shed, but for Odysseus is just an animal, while for Polyphemus is a dear friend
I love how he did not say his name here, being less carefree and actually think of the consequences, although he bacame cocky after escaping the cave, he shouted his name
This story is the one story I remember from my Latin class in middle school…. And I remember it because finding Nemo was considered a new movie at the time still…. And we learned that Nemo is Latin for nobody/no one because that is what Odysseus says his name is to the cyclops. so the movie, finding Nemo translates partially in Latin to finding nobody/no one
I love to think they just went: Euryclochus: polites why’d you kill his favorite sheep? Polites: I didn’t! He talking crazy! *meanwhile a random soldier running out the cave hiding with the lotus eaters*

Nice.
Polyphemus: thanks for the wine, I guess I’ll kill you last lol
@@tumblingartist ha for reals 😂
Mas o menos eso es el resumen
I’m hella biased since I’ve followed you for years at this point. But this has got to be my FAV animatic that’s come out of this musical so far. ❤❤❤
Im not biased at all, and I totally agree with you
The red light is SO COOL!!!
I love the bits of comedy. The reason why this is probably my favorite animatic for this song 🙏
Oh. My. God.
I can't believe one of my favourite artists just made the most perfect animatic of the musical I'm currently fixated about.
I love you, beautiful work!
Over here
Look at all this food!
Look at all these sheep!
I can't believe this cave has all this for us to keep!
I've gotta hand it to you both
This is quite the treat
There are enough sheep here to
Feed the entire fleet
It's almost too perfect
Too good to be true
Why would the lotus eaters pass up on all this food?
Who are you?
Hey there!
We're just travelers
We come in peace
You killed my sheep
My favorite sheep
What gives you the right to deal a pain so deep?
Don't you know that pain you sow is pain you reap?
Time to drink your blood over where you stand
Your life now is in my hand
Before I'm done
You will learn that it's not so fun to take
You came to my home to steal
But now you'll become my meal
A trade you see?
Take from you, like you took from me
There's been a misunderstanding
We never came here to steal
But now that I see we've done some damage
Maybe you and I can make a deal
I'll give you our finest treasure
So long as we leave alive
You can keep the world's best tasting wine
Wine?
Have a drink!
One sip and you'll understand
The power that's in your hands
A wine so fresh
You'd never wanna eat human flesh again
Then we shall be on our way
No bloodshed in here today
A trade you see?
A gift from you and a gift from me
Ahh
I'd like to thank you
Stranger, what's your name?
My name is Nobody, Nobody, Nobody
Nobody
For your gift I've one to reply
I'm so glad we see eye to eye
Yes
You shall be the final man to die
What
Watch out!
{These are the lyrics...}
"You killed my sheep" 😦😧
"My favorite sheep" 😨
I'm so glad I got to see that masterpiece 🤣
I cant help but laugh when he says "my favorite sheep" I'm dying
The FACE when he says "my favorite sheep" cracks me up every time! XD
I appreciate how you give the extra detail of focus of him shooting the bow, then fixing his breathing pattern after.
To be fair, they broke into his home and killed his beloved pets. Wine wont fix that
I LOVED IT!!! Their reaction to "You killed my sheep... My favourite sheep..." is just as I imagined it xD Great work!!!
HOLY SHIT THIS WAS AMAZIGN??? THIS WAS GENUINELY INCREDIBLE OMG
THE TENSION
THE EXPRESSION
THE WAY IT FITS WITH THE MUSIC
THE WAY YOU DRAW THEM
SO SO SO SO GOOD
EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM THIS SCENE
update: wait omg I know you from your old old OKD musical theatre stuff :OOOO WHATT your art has improved so much holy shit!!!!! congratulations!!!
The poor cyclops man, he just wanted to chill with his sheep
1:20 And It Was At This Moment Odysseus Knew He F***ed Up!
1:15 I love how he steps in front of the sheep like “uhhhhh no..what’s a sheep?”
1:21 “AWWHHHH NOOO HIS FAVORITE SHEEEEEPPP”
I love the voice effect on the VA for Polyphemus
Love love love this! Been waiting for an animatic of this song. I always picture the “eye to eye” part with Polyphemus like right up in Odys face tho, so they are literally eye to eye.
"no bloodshed in here today" *pans to the dead sheep still having an arrow in his chest*
To be fare, they did trespass and kill his sheep. And attempted to still steal his shit after giving him wine.
This is so cool! Huh, I thought Polyphemus's sheeps were a lot bigger in the story
They were, since Ody and his crew had to hide underneath them to escape the cave.
This is a pretty good musical. Things like this should be in theaters instead of what we get now days.
I genuinely really like how much Polyphemus looks like and how much he resembles his father here
It is so funny when Polyphemus notices the sheep so Polites slowly tries to cover the dead sheep
Probably the most cordial depiction of Polyphemus I've seen yet! As others have said, a neat mix of tension and comedy right here.
after listening to this song I can't stop imagining the cyclop as nothing different then an enormous ogrelike completely black shadow with only his eye and the inside of his mouse visible
"you kiled my sheep"
polities: try's to hide dead sheep*
"my FAVORET sheep!"
*it was at this moment that he knew HE F** *KED UP!*
"dont you know that the pain you show is the pain you reap?" I mean, Odysseus sowed a LOT of pain with the Trojan Horse and killing the infant, he is pretty much reaping it the rest of the musical
This is hands down my favorite Polyphemus design. So cool
i would still love to see your rendition of Survive... ESPECIALLY Poly getting his club, its such a haunting part of that song
i seriously love seeing all the different interpretations of epic the musical animated its seriously amazing how similar but different each one is and they’re all just amazing
I gotta say, out of all the Animatic artists out there, you're the BEST at facial expressions!! I just love how you make them all look
Honestly “my favorite sheep” is really funny
Ever wonder what would happen if Ody told him the truth? That the Lotus Eaters told him about the cave but didn't mention the Cyclops?
I’m obsessed with how amazing this animation is. There’s so many small details that are amazing everyone’s pointing out. One I haven’t seen anyone mention is how at the beginning the whole cave is blue or gray like normal but quickly turns to red and stays that way
a nice detail is how you pan to the sheep when Ody says 'No bloodshed in here today', it shows that indeed blood has been shed, but for Odysseus is just an animal, while for Polyphemus is a dear friend
The artstyle changes in the future oml its amazing :0000
Odysseys really tried to roll a nat 20 on persuasion trying to convince the Cyclops to not kill them but the cyclops didn't fall for it lol
I believe the animators work while the live stream is happening cause Y’ALL WORK TOO FAST I CAN’T KEEP UP 😭👍
odyssesus` face after polyphemus says "you killed my sheep" is exactly how i imagined it!! xd
I was like "he traded his fav sheep for wine, what a red flag" and then "oh..oh no
0:46
*when you sneak out of your room at night to get snacks from the kitchen but your mother is there cleaning and already eating said snacks*
Real
I love how he did not say his name here, being less carefree and actually think of the consequences, although he bacame cocky after escaping the cave, he shouted his name
This story is the one story I remember from my Latin class in middle school…. And I remember it because finding Nemo was considered a new movie at the time still…. And we learned that Nemo is Latin for nobody/no one because that is what Odysseus says his name is to the cyclops. so the movie, finding Nemo translates partially in Latin to finding nobody/no one
The faces when they found out that they killed Polyphemus’ favorite sheep-
I love to think they just went:
Euryclochus: polites why’d you kill his favorite sheep?
Polites: I didn’t! He talking crazy!
*meanwhile a random soldier running out the cave hiding with the lotus eaters*
"nobody" dam that falsetto
Literal perfection??? The character designs?? Expressions?? The tenseness yet the little bits of comedy?? 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
not them showing the dead sheep with blood over the floor during the line "no bloodshed in here today"💀
The way they looked even MORE panicked when he said “my favourite sheep” was terrifying
I think my favorite moment might be "Ah, don't be modest; I know you're a goddess, so let's be honest: You are ATHENA!"
I love the fear and expressive motions of Oddyseus while trying to negotiate. So convincing!
POLITES JUST
*waddlewaddlewaddle*
"nothing to see here no sir"
Polyphemus gotta be my favourite character in the whole epic series
