The lime mortar is actually perfect for this. It’s environmentally friendly, it’s breathable and doesn’t crack like cement, so any rock shifting won’t ruin the job. It’s nice to see you using the correct materials. So many ppl slap concrete on everything! This is an interesting concept with the old silo. Got recommended and I’m really enjoying your channel. Hi 👋🏽 from NYC.
Great video, tho I'm late to this one, I too thought this was going on in Europe somewhere; GLAD to see you guys save a structure like this. Those old German farmers knew how to build 'em, huh? Makes me wonder what did the old barns look like?
Thanks! Yes they did and the barns are pretty incredible too, we have some on our family’s property and they stood the test of time! That may be one of our next renovations……
When he put his hand under the cage it scared the heck out of me. When you are that age you think you are invincible. I did plenty of unsafe stuff when I was their age.

Wow, what a project, almost like working in France on a chateau spire! You guys are something else, awesome work!
Fascinating from a historical and architectural standpoint. It is so cool too. Great project guys.
Thanks!
Great project. But wet the area first is also something should be done.
thanks for the FFWD, it's fun and not as tedious to watch as it must be to do.
No problem! Yes the mortaring was very time consuming but the videos definitely make it look much easier/quicker than it was!
Hard working and talented, perfect . What state are you guys from?
Thanks! We are located in Wisconsin
I’m surprised that you guys are not using breathing equipment. Lime and concrete dust is extremely toxic.
I would have started on the stone work first. Starting from the bottom up.
Great work on this project
That is the weirdest mortar/cement mixer I have ever seen.
She is a little old but a good runner!
Safety and health come first.
Yes sir! We are working on it!
WOW a lot of work
Yes sir! It felt like it was never going to end but it turned out great!
Sticking your hand under the cage, no masks, no work boots using a concrete saw. You're a disaster.
