    What I like about this video is you don’t immediately try to sell someone your pump, indirectly saying your filters are better but simply saying don’t run that filter. If someone has a FASS system that’s fine just run a different cross reference filter on it. Says a lot about who you are as a company.

    But with a fuel pressure gauge one can SEE the pressure dropping when the filter gets full. Also what I heard was the regulations DON'T cover automotive filters...then when you asked...some random person says yea don't use em...but again there's really no science etc. This sounds like a bunch of theory...lets see some testing...some evidence

    Fass is a joke. They told me I needed to send them my entire pump for a refund since it can’t make more than 12psi. They didn’t refund me and just sent it back after they held onto it for almost two weeks. Horrible customer service. They’ve blocked me from contacting them. I wish I would of bought a Airdog, then I wouldn’t have to deal with the liars from the other company

    Thank you very much for the information. I was actually forwarded to this video by a Duramax UA-camr who released the same information to not run those filters. It was helpful to know how your competition’s filters can damage the fuel system/engine. It was especially helpful to me since I just bought an LBZ Duramax and am new to diesel truck ownership. It was refreshing that you didn’t try to sell your lift pump system and, instead, just warned viewers to not run your competition’s. I just bought an AirDog II 4g and I am excited to install it on my Duramax especially now that I have an idea of the kind of quality company you have. Keep up the great work.

    Those filters are called monitors, they use them in aviation. They require a differential pressure gauge to tell you when they are plugging off. And if you get a slug of water in your tank you could go through quite a few filters before it’s all gone.

    • @AirDogSales

    While I think your argument is valid (and greatly appreciated how you guys put your point across without going to "we're better for xyz") I do believe that this is a "worst case scenario" where the end user doesn't understand what simple maintenance is. In the years these filters have been in existence we have never had one fill with water (local trucks we service, our personal trucks, and customers across the US). Personally I change my fuel filters every 2-3 oil changes (10-15k miles total). I would rather my filter catch the water vs leting it pass through.

    • @AirDogSales
      @AirDogSales  2 роки тому +3

      At the same time, what they are showing in their comparison is a worst case scenario as well. Most, if not all fuel filling stations are utilizing water sensing media filters to catch any water before it gets to your fuel tank. What they also show you is a full flow single pass test. During some testing we did on our 800hp common rail, we found at WOT the truck only consumed about 81 GPH max. Our filters are 93% efficient at removing emulsified water at 90GPH.

      So what you’re saying is the Airdog system doesn’t do anything to stop water from going to the injection pump? I’ve seen the water separation test, between FASS and Airdog. I’ll take a filter that cleans every damn molecule of water out the fuel, than a system that “kinda does” any day of the week. If you are running a lift pump system, any man worth his salt should have a gauge in the truck cab to monitor it. Not just hope and pray shit do what it’s supposed to do.

    If you cared about your vehicles engine fuel system lifespan enough to buy a upgraded fuel system to protect it, then you obviously have the knowledge to know about regular maintenance, and know not to run something till it fails, changing these fuel filters ever 10k-15k miles like the OE recommends, I’ll guarantee you won’t ever have one of the FASS filters plug, unless someone drains water into your tank. Sure, if you put the filter on and change it 70k miles later, it’s probably gunna be pretty full by then. But you did that out of your own stupidity and you deserve that outcome.
    Also, a large percentage of diesel truck owners have fuel pressure gauges, and can see as a fuel filter starts to plug up because fuel pressure will start to drop, then anyone with common sense would shut it down and figure out the issue. I know the world is full of stupid people, but most people when there vehicle starts chugging or running poor they shut it down and figure out what went wrong. I’d rather filter out 100% of the problem, then run something that lets the problem pass through and reach the engines fuel system and cause damage. also pretty sure it’s been scientifically proven that water drains on your filters don’t actually drain out all of the water when opened. And let’s be real here, most people never in there life touch the water drain screw on your water separator filter between service intervals anyways so it’s holding all that water and letting water still pass through to the fuel system.

    • @AirDogSales
      @AirDogSales  11 місяців тому

      You can check out S&S' DCR water in fuel video and see how the competition's filters did with removing "100%" of the water. Check it out around the 5min mark. ua-cam.com/video/HHC4hM-w-Hk/v-deo.html But, we do agree, regular maintenance is key to fuel pump and injection system longevity.

      @@AirDogSales my bad filters 99.6% of the water, they mentioned it wouldn’t happen if it had factory filters still, and they make it seem like it’s a horrible amount of rust/water, but there is no proof that if it had a OE system that it would be in better shape, same thing with your guys pumps. They didn’t show what S&S pump looks like inside on a stock fuel system, nor did they show what the pump looks like inside with a AirDog system. I know you guys won’t, and S&S won’t, but the real test to prove which filtration system is better would be to install the S&S pump on 3 trucks, 1 runs a FASS with the stock filters deleted like in the video, 1 runs OEM filters, and one runs a Airdog with the stock filter deleted, all trucks run the same X amount of miles, filling up at the same pump each time. And then taking the pumps apart to see which system did the best job at water separation and did the least damage. But right now S&S doesn’t have a leg to stand on with stating it wouldn’t have happened if it had stock filters, but without a side by side comparison against the OE system, they are just assuming, maybe they actually have done this type of testing, but to my knowledge it hasn’t been done yet. Also, the rust in the fuel lines could have already been there before the injection pump and fass were installed. But nobody knows because no one has proof.
      I also feel like this was a worst case scenario, this dude got a ton of junk fuel that was put into this truck. I’ve cut open my filters that get changed every 15k Miles and never seen one look like that.
      I do believe in my opinion, after knowing the facts between your filters, FASS filters, and OE filters, I believe that if this testing was done that FASS would be on the top with the least amount of contamination. But we won’t know the answer until the test is done 🤷‍♂️. Side note, don’t go thinking I’m anti Airdog, or that I think Airdog is trash, or I’m here to bash airdog, does airdog work and do what they say? Sure. I just believe FASS is a better product based off the facts I’ve seen when comparing FASS side by side with AirDog.

      @@Tyler91000 I know you are getting your information of "side by side" testing from our competition's videos because no one else has done one. Wouldn't you think that they would want to show a "worst case scenario" that wouldn't give our OE quality filters a chance? No engine, unless a high horsepower competition build, is going to consume that volume of fuel as fast as they show in their videos. An 800HP Cummins consumes about 90GPH at full rip. Our filters are much more efficient than what they claim them to be. Also, you are slandering S&S and claiming they took off the CP4.2, saw rust, then proceeded to install their injection pump and their lines without cleaning the system for a validation test on their HP4? Interesting. Your expectations are unrealistic on the testing parameters. All three of those trucks would have to drive the same miles on the same route and fuel up at the same stations to be a valid test. There is no guarantee there will be any water in any of those fuel stations. All we know is our competition makes big claims on these transfer tank/service station filters, but people still get water into their injection system. That video is literally proof. This type of water-sensing media is nothing new. It has been around for a while. No one, till now, has risked putting them on over the road vehicles. Why is that? Because they do not want to assume the risk of the safety of their consumers. That is why UL stated that these water-sensing filters are not to be used on vehicle fuel lines. That is why we do not and never will do a side by side test with their filters vs ours. We know they will take out more water at higher flow rates because that is what those filters are designed for. We will never use this filter media in our fuel systems for the fact that a lot of people do not run fuel pressure gauges and will not see the signs before the engine is shut down. Could you imagine that happening while hauling a load down a grade and losing power steering and brakes? We will not put our customers at risk to try and get a leg up on our competition.

    What happens when an airdog filter clogs?
    What is the reason why you can't use the filter in an automotive system? A fuel station pump often goes through thousands of gallons of fuel per day.
    With any filter you only have a couple of options, with excessive contamination it either blocks it and plugs or it stops filtering and sends the contamination down stream. Is that the airdog preferred method, to go into bypass and continue to send contamination to the fuel system until the next maintenance interval?

    If you have that much water in the fuel system to clog and pop that fuse you're not conducting proper maintenance or have major issues you need to address. Don't get me wrong environment conditions do vary but that filter should never clog at proper change intervals.
    It's also a good thought process to ensure water is eliminated but most would like to be able to drain the water as a peace of mind thing and thats why alot won't use them until they are sold on the idea (personal opinion of course).

    That's why I don't run one of these systems....not interested in something else to go wrong between fuel tank and the factory filter head, similar to adding an MSD box to a factory HEI system on a gas engine, something else to go wrong and troubleshoot ( seen it many time ). The average truck out there doesn't even need a lift pump. CP3 pump doesn't have to work that hard in my opinion, because it's gear driven off the crank shaft. I do agree however, if the HP level is increased substantially, then extra fuel is a must.

      These transfer tank filters can have restricted flow with 8oz of water. A road legal filter will separate that to the bottom of the filter to be drained later and not restrict flow. In the comment section on this video on our facebook page, we even had a MannHummel employee say that we are correct that these filters are not to be run on the road. The only reason we made this video is because we had to. We are always having to react to their bash videos. Check the time stamps on when these videos came out. Also take air dogs criticism with a grain of salt. FASS bashes them just as bad. It's like whats the better motor oil argument. It comes down to which system you purchased
      FASS, Air Dog, or Fleece.
      Also if you are running the filters they are speaking of, as long as you maintain proper filter changes you will be fine. It takes alot to clog the filter. It would be just about the same result if water got past the standard fuel water separator (not a good result).
