@AARON ABSOLUTELY!
AARON That’s not the point. He’s complaining about them currently, and currently a lot of Gen Z are under the age of 18. Hell, the youngest are 5.
The problem is what he’s implying, things like entitlement and being whiny but Gen Z are kids, then yeah, they will act like that because they’re kids.
And don’t get me wrong, I say this as an older member of Gen Z, who is an adult. (2000)
@@duckydae I can agree that Gen Z is probably pushing it concerning the ages you've mentioned. More like "I-Gen" or "Gen Y" that I'm thinking of. Any one representing the early 20's to late 20's. Yeah, It's kind of redundant to call literal kids immature. They were too at that age lol
it just shows that they still think of “young people” as millennials and forget that gen z is literally mostly minors right now. Why should they act “grown up”?
18 years old is not a kid anymore. Nor is 16 years old.
I'm 19 years old, so definitely not a kid anymore, but I still don't feel like a "real" adult at the moment
@@pedroloto 19 you're still a teenager, not a kid but really not an adult either. The brain doesn't stop maturing until 25 iirc and there's so much maturity you gain during the time from completing HS and going into adulthood and working. It's a weird age, really.
"Older generations create problems for the younger generations have to solve." Isn't that just a fact? How can you disagree with that? Any problem an older generation makes that they don't solve is a problem that the younger generation has to solve.
They didnt disagree, they just said that its not only our gen, it happens with each gen and is natural.
Well its not like gen z is gonna fix it. Gen z itself is a problem.
Sure but boomers grew up with immense amounts of economic privilege and did in fact vote and take action in ways that ensured their children and grandchildren would enter serfdom. They're really the first generation to take economic wealth from their kids as opposed to ensuring that their kids could build upon it
If the younger generation even consider it a problem to begin with
I think at least for me there's a frustration level with older generations create problems for the younger generations to solve because they often times have the solution they just chose not do it because politics and people who refuse to see the issue as a problem in the first place
Boomers often dismiss Millennials and Gen Z when we complain about making 20% less than our parents, having to pay twice as much for a house (adusting for inflation), tuition costs, etc...
If Boomers have the gall to complain about us complaining an “okay, Boomer” is more than warranted.
Personally, as a Millennial (turning 31 this year), usually when I talk with Boomers, most of them agree that we are having it quite harder than them.

From a European perspective it is always bizarre to hear Americans decrying a very basic social system as "communism". A decent minimum wage, national health insurance and labour unions are completely normal to most European countries and that certainly does not make them communist. Outside of the American bubble, these things are considered basic human rights. It's nice to see that Gen Z, growing up in a more connected world, recognizes this.
Yes as you saw in 2020 people misunderstood gen z and stood up for other people's rights.

I don't trust older people who "aren't sure if younger people value human lives" or think America has allowed "communism to thrive". How blinded by nostalgia can you be?
Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.
So true.
But we actually evolve with every generation so the next generation is technically more advanced and intelligent than us because they know all what we know and more.
On the other hand, older generation has already experienced life, so they are wiser than the new generation it's just that not all their values will work because societies tend to change with time, so while younger generation should absolutely listen to the older generation, they should also work on creating a better world.
I mean they're not wrong, gen zs are the most educated gen yet because education is no longer seen as a privilege compared to the previous generations. Also, with the appearance of the Internet and digital world, you can practically search for anything on the internet right now.
Wiser because experience, they have lived longer and have experienced more than what the gen after has. However, it can be hit or miss with how the society is constantly evolving.
@@wxlfie2 there's a difference between knowledge, wisdom and understanding
You are right. But this is the first generation that is raised on social media. So we are going to see real differences between them and past generations, and yes a lot of negative differences.
@@wxlfie2 the problem is I have asked people "why do you believe that?" and they have straight up refused to explain their thoughts making excuses like "you wouldn't understand / you would argue it anyway" like give me a chance, we will see, but I think with social media... these kids often just repeat talking points and its not even truly their own opinions they are just repeating. so I don't think people should get much credit for their opinions unless they can actually back up why they have them

Now if Bill was a conservative straight guy that was somehow miraculaously able to sympathize with the Gen Z'ers then that woulda been impressive and a plot twist. Instead, what we see here is people preaching to the choir of Bill. The only thing that makes Bill different from them is his age.
When she said "somewhere between you all and us, things have changed" I was like, it was us. Millennials. I believe we were the first generation to question everything we were taught because we grew up with the rise of social media.
You can thank gen X for that. They really pioneered free thinking, I think. And then you guys went all out with it.
Actually Gen X was exposed to every form of social media before Millennials

But you're right we are a diverse group they should've had some younger people and (no offense) maybe one gen z that wasn't LGBTQ just to switch up the opinions more.
@@janethebluemouse Well, to be fair, you guys are more likely to be associated with millennials. There's only less than a 5 year age Gap between those Gen Z kids and millennials. Now, it would be a lot different if they had the perspective of a high schooler.
Adrianna Arcuri i don’t think so gen z is between 1995-2010 and if that was the case it was not so long ago was 18 in 2018 the millenialls are now 26 and earlys 40 you can check if you want
gen z is typically split up from older gen z (1997 to 2005)(the first connected) and younger gen z (2006 to 2012)(the technology inherent) I'm 2003 so I'm in the middle and would relate to both sides of the spectrum.
The purple penguin Well by including at least one lgbtq person it really makes it more diverse and makes me feel like we’re normalizing it I mean that’s the whole goal of lgbtq is to have it normalized and more accepted.
I just love how everyone is collectively agreeing Bill is a saint.
true that.
I'd get a beer with bill.
He is perfect
I know right?
I’m straight but if Bill asked me to get on my knees... I wouldn’t hesitate
@@zestyoverlord6772 😳😂😂😂😂😂
I was blessed to have grandparents like bill… my grandfather told me one time when I was younger (I didn’t really understand how big of a deal it was until I got older) that he didn’t understand what was wrong with gay marriage. His literal words were “if they love each other like me and your grandmother do, then i don’t get what the big deal is”. And that was around the time Obama had just became president, so gay marriage wasn’t legalized and social media wasn’t a thing, so he didn’t have anything to really sway his opinion, he genuinely felt that way. I say this to say that there are nonjudgmental “old” people out there… more than what we may think!
This was such a great episode i became tearful.❤
To me, "Ok, Boomer" is a response to the people who dismiss the fact that us, younger people, are capable of formulating our own thoughts, ideas, opinions and beliefs, solely because we are younger. "Ok, Boomer" is giving up arguing because what's the point of trying to get my point across if you're going to completely dismiss the possibility that I might be right.
@Mana G They want us to act mature but they think that we are too young to understand racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.. they want us to stay silent about important topics
@@itsjustme7614 ikr! It's honestly so demotivating. I used to be a lot more active and wanted to participate in change a lot more. But now I'm scared shitless to even talk in response and actually SAY what I'm thinking. The only place I can ever speak my mind is on the internet smh..
EXACTLYYYYY
FACTS
Exactly!!!
I don't think I could ever learn to respect someone who's mindset is "my parents left problems for me so I'm gonna leave some for you too." *Ever*
I would move out cause I’m not finna put up with that negative mindset
Who said that?
@@PatsliTV The one guy thats not bill.
That's my parents mentality. Where they come from, it's like that.
Dabble no i’m not 😍
Just found this series. I really like it. We, The People, are multi-generational and we need more discussions like this. Where individual yet collective voices can be heard.
Everyone seems to appreciate Bill's effort to understand multiple perspectives. It will require endurance as well as openmindedness. I hope we all could start doing so to resolve things.
”OK Boomer” is a phrase to belittle and dismiss some old person who is close-minded just like ADULTS do the same thing to kids by saying “You don't know anything, you're too young”
Basically, it's small revenge to adults who were condescending, indifferent, and dismissive.
Yep true
If somebody has no experience, what does he really know?
Granted age doesn't play the biggest role in being knowledgeable
Children can not comprehend the knowledge of an adult. Therefore compared to an older persons knowledge you really know nothing
@@amandaevans3235 except that people are capable of complex critical thinking from the age of about 11? We might not have the same level of life experience but we're having to deal with environmental stress that y'all never took seriously.
Matt S-J As I said concerning the given situation the older you are the more knowledgeable you become therefore my knowledge base concerning most things is much broader than someone twenty years younger. And please if you’re going to argue about knowledge please give a valid argument on something instead of making an assumption. I do not fit into the boomer category for one and number 2. I was born in 1980 and my generation was the one that began the movement about climate change. So nothing you said has any validity to it. My generation was the last before technology became the go to for everything. Your generation is so spoiled and dependent on technology that it seems to me this is not an assumption solely my opinion that your generation Connor form a singular independent thought of your own making you simply parrot what you’ve been told or what you’ve heard without doing your own research
Boomers “Gen Z doesn’t wanna grow up” my dude the youngest Gen Z is 9 years old 😂😂😂
My point there, not fair game. Not everyone is 18 yet. Wait until 2030. 1995-2012, then all of Gen Z are adults
@@2quick614 and then what will be the name of the next generation?
Alin Alisan pretty sure it’s generation I right?
Alin Alisan gen alpha 😊
I’m pretty sure gen z ended 2010 so the youngest gen z is 10 or 11
this was such a civil conversation compared to the aggression in generational differences that i’ve seen on the internet, it was really refreshing
Bill and Corinne, shatay you slay!!!
“ genz have Peter Pan syndrome “ umb.... sir we are mostly kids...
Yup
What am I? I’m 11
When you're literally 13:
facepalms so hard, I put hand through forehead
penumbra01 when u said 13 u did the :3 face
Yeah. Gen-Z is mostly made up of minors.
Bill is smart . He may be “old” but at least he doesn’t despise younger generations
my grandfather is a boomer from morocco, he is 90 years old and always respected the younger generations.
You're saying that as if being old is automatically bad.
@@wendywhoisit1819 wdym
@@wendywhoisit1819 its more that most older generations dislike gen z from stereotyping
Is agiest really a thing lol
It doesn't matter if you're a boomer or a gen z, we all love Bill.
every word bill says warms my heart
