I think this is just bad ass I luv seeing manufacturers come up with designs like this a 6x9 subwoofer I think it's just cool as hell with a big old motor on the back of it I wished I had a set in my system if I had been out at the time I bought my pro Audio mid-range I went with Jesus instead great job Rockville
I have a 2016 Challenger with the Harmon Kardon sound system ... im not really impressed with it ..im thinking of replacing all the cabin speakers which consist of seven 3.5 two ways and two 6x9 door woofers with the Rockville or the infinity Kappas ..would like to hear your opinion on which speakers would be a better upgrade to this setup ..any suggestions .?? keep the videos coming

Hey mike great comparisons , great videos. I don't plan on getting rid of my truck and im assuming these will be great for a bass setup. My question is do you think these will drown out any highs , will a tweeters or horns be needed

Where do you have it mounted?
You might not need a box but I can tell by the way it moves and plays that it would sound and do so much better in a box. There's alot of clipping and movement, too much, need to limit that with a sealed box,. Finding one for that massive mounting depth would be a challenge though you might have to build something.
Thinking about adding these in my saddle bag lids on my custom harley instead of the current 6x9's I have. Would these work? Not looking to win any competitions, just want more base than I am getting. Have a 400w amp powering everything now, was going to split it and run 200w to the back on low pass and keep the front on mid/high pass.
I’m debating if I want these in my lids or down in the bags. I’m like you, not looking to compete. Just want a decent sound I don’t have to break the bank on. I don’t wanna go with a huge sub and sacrificed space in the bag… but with one of these in each bag I’m anticipating a good sound. Only thing I’m skeptical about is the cone on the Rockville is paper.. not sure how waterproof it is

I'd probably look into this if it were going in a car with a decent stock system, just swap out the deck 6x9's. But I'd take the Infinity any day if I didn't have rear door speakers
Not me man I'm sorry I am Rockville man I got canines and I pound them I've had them for about 4 years now and I'm tickled 10-inch subwoofers with 3in voice coils like people down Rockville but I love their subwoofers in their speakers not a big fan of their amps I go skar on the amp but I'll take a Rockville subwoofer over any skar subwoofer there is there built better there be fear they will handle their power I ain't crazy about their ratings how they do that but I love their subwoofers they're heavier than they're built better keep up the good work Rockville very happy with my subwoofers

Those rockvils are modeled after the cadence cvl69 which are no longer produced... but i had a pair bsck in 2009 ish.... same motor n basket.. almost as though rockville bought the design

I ordered these because of your video, I installed them on the rear deck as you said, and they can easily hit down to 27Hz, 20Hz is also great, just a little quieter.
Really nice to not need a separate subwoofer. Be aware that they like a lot of power, so I recommend running them off an amp (I'm using a Kicker 440W RMS amp with a MiniDSP HD 2x4 for boosting the sub-bass frequencies)

@@kevinc6073 pretty much, although the rear seats get much more bass than the front seats due to the acoustics of the car.
Over the past couple months I've been turning my car into a track/autocross car, so the 6x9 subs got removed for weight reduction. (18 lbs together) I can definitely say that I miss the extra bass they gave me.
@@defkey123 yeah makes sense. Rear deck sub's are supposed to resonate to the entire vehicle. In some vehicles the acoustics will sound differently. Would you say these subs sound musical? or does the bass sound like burps?
@@kevinc6073 they did sound pretty nice back when I used them. They would only start sounding bad if you push too much power into them. Some sort of DSP or EQ would help them out too. They're definitely pretty good for the money and the fact that there's really no other 6x9 subs out there.
@@defkey123 I would like to go with the Tang Bang 6x9s but they are discontinued. I'm between the Alpine X Series or Hybrid Audio Unity 6x9s but I honestly don't want to spend so much money for my daily driver. I like infinite baffle set ups for the Sound Quality. I don't want to throw a box with Subs in the trunk, as direct in cabin fire sound better imo.

Will these speakers work as a factory 6x9 replacement with a factory amp? The factory speakers were 2ohm 6x9 pioneer subwoofers.
Yeah they will you just have to use the original wires that went to the stock 6x9
in the back of my convertible i have 2 slots for 6x9 speakers.. and I want to put 6x9 subwoofers in them.. just can not find any any longer.. at least that go down what I think is low enough. I'd rather not use a bracket to go from 6x9 to 6.5.. but I might have to.

Sure, but you'll need to cut round holes in the outer door skin to clear the huge 70 oz magnets.

So someone tell me. If i run this off a appropriate amplifier, installed in the rear dash of my car (no box; using trunk like a box). Can I only run this in Lo pass or can I run these Hi and Lo pass (to get some voice out of the rear of my car? I think having them basically free air under amp load with ruin them in a short time??? The only midrage would be 2-6.5 loudspeakers (beyma or something well) on the doors. but I was even going to try the Gravity speakers with the horn. My goal is bass and mids and highs without a sub box in the trunk or I can get all all gravity brands with horn driver and install a spare tire subwoofer.......Someone talk to me!

@@jasonneal I have the sundown sa-69cx and they are absolutely one of the best speakers I've ever tried , push Terminals , large magnet , and a large silk some tweeter. Rockville is known for one thing .... absolute straight garbage and garbage ratings.

Hello, I am about to purchase 6x9 speakers. Its between JBL GTO939 or Infinity keppa 93iX. Which do you guys recommend. Aftermarket radio with no amplifier. I want a decent bass, I know the infinity is a 2 ohm speaker and JBL is 4 ohms.
The JBL will give you that good deep bass you want that quality bass not that off set bass.. I never see any of his video talking about quality bass.
I had the kappa and replaced them with the Hertz 6x9's neo's sp show
To me what hurts the kappa is the 2ohm ...u better off with 4ohms

The vehicle I have has plenty of bass for my liking, and it's just the factory system from 2007, it utilizes 2 6.5in , 2 tweeters, a center 3.5in, and 2 6x9 in the back, sounds good compared to anything else I've heard, I have heard the factory premium system from honda in the honda accords(2021) and the 2007 system sounds better in my opinion

Note if you would have reversed your polarity on the Rockville with it being invented. They would have been in phase. You would have had way better bass results if they were in phase when you played the 2 together.
