    Mike, I'm gobsmacked as to how you find PVR to be better than the more balanced clean Kappa. You are definately a decibels kinda guy. I am more of a clarity clean sound kinda audiophile.
    Great video by the way, keep it up!!!

      Right, he is comparing 2 speakers designed for different use: the first to be clean and balanced in frequency. The second for more power on the midrange so a dirty sound because it is cut

      It depends how loud you need them to be. Those prv can handle a lot nore power and get a lot louder than the kappa. But if you want just a clean sound on not too much power then the kappas would be good. If you have subwoofers with a lot of bass those prvs on 500 watts would be heard miles away

    yeah, see the little capacitor inside the basket... that's why there is no bass. It's got a high pass crossover built into the speaker - this is a midrange. The design that gives it the high efficiency is what makes it incapable of bass in trade. Most people will not understand this so they attach the crossover to the speaker to essentially "idiot proof" it

      If your talking about 6x9's. The Pioneer Pro 6x9 is a true 2-way speaker.
      If your talking about the Pioneer Pro 8" vs the PRV 6x9. The sound is compatible. But you still need a subwoofer for both.

  • @AutoBodyEverything

    Seems like the PRV can be substituted for a
    5 1/4 midrange. It’s not doing enough for a speaker it’s size for the amount of space it takes up for installation. A 6.5 with a 5 1/4 midrange will give you a fuller sound. I know it’s a comparison so I would choose the one on the left if I had to chose.

    The pvr’s are louder because they are midrange loudspeakers and don’t have to divide up power to tweeters unlike the infinity’s which are coaxial.

    • @krowwithakay
      @krowwithakay 2 роки тому

      Omg you're so wrong. The tweeter takes next to nothing, and also that's not how it works. The ohm load goes down when you add a tweeter, and the amp outputs slightly more power at the very slightly lower ohm load. The PRV is louder because it's got a higher resonance frequency, meaning it can play higher frequencies a lot louder and more efficient, but will perform horribly at lower frequencies.

    • @nasheemwhye5197
      @nasheemwhye5197 2 роки тому +1

      @@krowwithakay are you crazy the tweeters in a coaxial setup can consume 20 to 50 watts by themselves alone depending on the speaker that’s alot of power for a coaxial setup and there are tweeters that are 100 watts rms and there are super tweeters that consume a lot more than 100 watts rms and they can handle this power just fine, what they can’t handle is lower frequencieswhich is why on every coaxial speaker there is a capacitor or bass filter to protect the tweeters from the lower frequency’s which usually is what blows a tweeter and just because the ohms when running speakers in a parallel setup drop the load doesn’t mean a speaker consumes less energy in fact they consume more energy which is why running two 4ohm speakers on a single channel bridged will by way louder at the same volume at 2 ohms stable, ohms is electrical resistance it has nothing to do with power consumption so you are wrong my friend, pvrs are loud speakers which usual play frequencies between 300hz to 5000hz hence why they’re called mids which is why they should be setup like a component setup, mid loud speakers with super tweeters for the the best sound besides they’re not loud based of the nonsense you’re saying it’s all in the voice coil design and what they were engineered to do plus coaxials usually have a much lower power rating the midrange speakers on average not the nonsense you’re saying.

      @@LIFEINSPEED that's right and if you set the hpf higher than what they recommend the speakers can't perform well ,
      Every speaker needs different crossover settings. 🙂

    • @trollslayer8260
      @trollslayer8260 3 роки тому

      @@krystaldelacruz2010 they arent made to play below 80hz. They are midbass , midrange pro audio speakers. The crossover on them is a bass blocker below 80hz @ 6db to keep from over excursion . The other coaxial type infinity has a longer voice coil and taller magnetic gap to produce bass and the tweeters and mids on it handle the highs. I hope i didn't insult your intelligence, im only trying to explain why the prv wont play bass very good. Its made for people who have an excessive amount of bass already, and need to be able to hear the mids and highs over all that bass.you wouldnt want use them unless you have really loud subs on alot of power.

    PRV louder? Yes but is a midrange with few bass frequencies to combine with super bullet tweeter and a subwoofer. While the first is a fullrange, obviously the midrange sounds stronger

    • @nasheemwhye5197
      @nasheemwhye5197 2 роки тому

      The bullet is not a tweeter it acts as a cooling radiator for the voice coil, these are midrange only and are best setup like a component system with separate tweeters hence why they’re called midrange speakers, their purpose is for competition which is why they’re so loud when comparing them to similar coaxial speakers

    full range vs mid range. Full range cannot handle the power in the mid frequency band that the prv can. The PRV is intended to be part of a many hundreds of watts channel where the infinity kappa is supposed to do it all at 200-300 watts max

    Thank you for all the awesome speaker comparison videos.
    Whats really crazy is that the PRV at 4ohms is louder than the Infinity at 2ohm. Thats insane. At 2ohm (less resistance) the Infinity should be louder. And the both have the almost same sensitivity with the infinity at 96 dB and the PRV at 97db.My next speakers will be the PRV 69MR500-PhP-4
