I wish I lived closer to you Dave. You are an inspiration to many professionals, DIY's and even those who are just starting in automotive technology. Thank you.
To me, your shops are a physical reflection of your mental process. Very orderly and clean. Thanks for the tour! Very impressive! Congrats on the new building and your success. 🙏
it amazes that a lot of people are really great at what they do and somehow manage to own a shop and make it successful. It is really hard for one person to do that, usually you are just good at fixing and another guy is good at bringing the customers and charging accordingly and know how to talk to customers, that is not easy to do. I keep hearing, you may not know a lot about mechanical work but if you know how to talk, customers will pay for that. I've seen this at other companies, not automotive related where people are really good at talking and act like they know what they are talking about and take control of the conversation and manage to convince people, some people would just avoid confrontation.
Hello Dave , you need an old EMD 645 locomotive engine in the wating room , its a 16 cylinder 2 stroke supercharged engine , some even had turbos in addition to the supercharges , each cylinder displaces 645 ci . 10320 ci total , Its a monster all right!!!! It makes about 3000HP at 850RPM that equates to roughly 18k lb/ft of torque.
When I was in the air force I worked on a generator with 4 crank shafts and was 6 stores tall took 12of us gi,s 6 months to rebuild this engine and align it to the generator. This was1976through 1977 .it was in Italy 🇮🇹. You have an awesome shop and videos. Denis from Santa Rosa CA
Having been in the serviced dept. for a dealership, having a clean-orderly shop ( one you are proud to show customers), puts their minds at ease that their car will also receive top repair.
Well Dave I am a locomotive engineer and even though GE has reduced their power plants to 12 cylinders. EMD still uses 16 cylinder 2 stroke diesels that are 777 cubic inches per cylinder. So yes I have seen and use bigger ones daily. Love the channel congrats on the new shop and you success.
But GE's 12 cylinder motors put out 4500 hp and displace 1000 CI per cylinder. I think they redline at 900 rpms but they can do that all day long. Oh, I'm a retired locomotive engineer.
Bigger engine? Yes sir. Former heavy equipment mechanic at a mine in Bagdad, Aruzona. Its a c125 v-16 Diesel out of a 793 Haul Truck. Runs 4 turbos at 25 psi, output at around 2,600 HP. When they grenadd it is quite the site. After the engine is pulled and on the ground outside, you see where you can put your fist through the block. Wordt one was a hole almost big enough to pike your head in it. Thd crank weighs in at 800lbs. They are very impressive
Dave...oh my gosh man you are a true craftsman and it shows you give a crap too! I'm very impressed with your shops and what you can do. You are top of the top 😊
Your shop is what I longed for when I was young. I always wanted to know more, restore better. But I'm retired now and only fix family emergencies. But I really enjoy your perspectives and your projects. Thanks
Dave you are doing for the Automotive Service industry what Tiger Woods did for golf. Have had my automotive repair shop in California for 43 years and finding good qualified techs is pretty tough. I think you will energize our youth's and bring some good techs back to the industry. After 43 years of this business, I salute you for your hard work and integrity. I watch all your content and learn every time. I own a 2000 F250 7.3L with 700K on it. Will be calling you soon for engine overhaul.
Hola señor Dave…I wish you were here in the DFW area I can see that you really care about your work so professional and honest no wonder you are growing up with your business…and your videos are very educational…Saludos!!! I’m going to subscribe to your channel
Amazing Shop. You need to get your hands on a Cat 3524B. Definitely the biggest and longest engine I’ve ever seen. We use them in our 797 haul trucks up here in the Alberta Oil Sands.
Congratulations on the new shop. Love your videos; learning alot. What a great service it would be if you were to set up someway for us folks too far from you to ask you questions. I'd love to hear your opinion on a few things. Best to you and your family.

Dave is the American dream alive and well. The man starts his own business, makes sure that he's the best at what he does in his area, treats his customers with respect, values his customers loyalty over their money, trains his family to eventually take over the business, and provides a quality and stable work environment for his employees. Thank you David for being the honest mechanic that is so incredibly hard to find in this dishonest world.
Hello sir nothing but respect for what you're doing. Im working as an apprentice mechanic and seeing what you're doing gives me nothing but motivation. Thanks and keep up the awesome work and videos!
I support you and your efforts 100% You and your crew are good men. Why cant we all be like this. This is really good stuff. Good Luck! I owned my own company for 25 years. Our customers truly trusted us. You are doing it right!
You are a very great American sir! You make me proud to be an American! Thank you for the great example that you set for our young people and for all the great work that you do!
This is awesome. 33 years of work says one thing loud and clear... you do good, honest work. Clearly, it is paying off. Best of luck with your new shop! Capitalism: Hard work pays off.
Dave has that look, same as my automotive instructor who was a machinist for decades and the old speed shop store owners. The way he looks at things you can tell he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this industry.
Congrats, just amazing to watch, doing my work with the same approach, next level professionalism. Also being lucky to have sons to follow up in the business. Looking forward to more videos on the engine repairs.😊
Sure would be nice to have your business closer to the South East US. Nashville TN. Definitely live how well you made the block look new again. Awesome Shop Sir.
I WISH I could send a picture of what came thru Gallup NM years ago, circa 2005. HAD to be part of something oceangoing. I recognized an engine block of massive proportions, as did smarter-in-things-mechanical-than-me sorts. A truly motley crew, we (Native, Hispanic, et al). Likely headed down I-40 or up 491 to rebuilding. A small family could live in a cylinder of this block. All praises be to guys who still play with blocks, they make the world go 'round!!!
Mr Fowler what an outstanding shop you have. As a retired Tool and Die Maker people don't understand the training and knowledge and expertise that goes into this. I am from Wisconsin.
A fully equipped workshop. I admire the neatness and I must say SAFETY is GREATLY ADMIRED. YOUR WORKSHOP HAS EVERY TOOL FOR PRECISION WORKMANSHIP. I GREATLY ADMIRE YOUR DRIVING ENTHUSIASTIC APPROACH TO MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND WORKMANSHIP. RESPECTS TO U AND YOUR STAFF AND I ADMIRE YOUR PROFESSIONALISM

Wish your shop was near me, Dave. I would patronize your business for sure! Regarding the larger engine, yep, I got one. Nope, not pictures unfortunately. Used to work at a ski area that had an ex-train engine hooked to an 6MW electical generator. 16 cylinder four stroke diesel, ran at 1200rpm. The sound was beyond loud, it was physical. Don't recall the displacement, but the block was at least 10 ft long, 6 ft tall, 5ft wide. Big SOB. It was my job as staff electrician to exercise it regularly. Fun!
Fantastic Dave you deserve a lot of credit and pay off on hard work I hope you're boys carry the batton for you when you retire all the best from the land down under 🤠👍🇦🇺🇦🇺☺️
Dave’s team did a Great job installing a Magnusson supercharger on my 3rd gen Tacoma! I’m so happy I had these professionals do it…great expertise and top quality work!,
Dave is not only a master mechanic he's a master automotive businessman. That is a rare sight in the world today. Anyone in the automotive business or looking to get in this industry could learn a lot of very valuable skills from this man
I currently work on much much bigger GE and EMD engines in the railroad. Some are still huge 2 strokes. I have also worked on the big Cats and Waukeshas in the natural gas field.
Absolutely love your content and knowledge. Worked in the car field for 12 years and Managed two different auto repair shops. Had I lived in your area I would have loved to be apart of your team.
I love the way Dave is just as excited about engine diagnostics and rebuilding as a 20yr old fresh out of tech school with a new cart of tools. Burn out is natural, but he’s managed to avoid it. You can also see the joy of the Lord shining in him. How about a satellite shop in Oklahoma Dave??
We’ve got a V16 CAT as our black start at work. I’ll throw a picture up next time I’m near it. Makes that 12 look like it should say VTEC. Love your content Dave! I’m 2 hours south of you in sevier county can’t wait to come see the shop someday.

Love your channel! I have an older Duramax Chevy that will probably be the last truck I ever own. Seriously considering sending it to you to work over the engine and transmission. It is approaching 300k, and although the only leak is from the windshield washer reservoir, I'm confident that the power train is reaching the end of its service life. I'd rather spend the money to keep this truck on the road, than drop $150k for a new truck to replace it.
Thanks Dave. Beautiful Shop.
This is the father we all need. My father dies when I was 2 years old. His last name was Fowler also. Great job Dave.
Awesome shop and great people. Wish I lived near you guys because I would definitely be stopping in. I'm currently having my diesel rebuilt and I'm hoping the shop sticks to their word 🙏🙏
