I practice singles, doubles, para diddle, and flams. I'll mix it up by doing some extras stuff like flam taps, 5 and 6 strokes, Swiss rolls, and moving accents around. But I'm very lazy and mostly just learn songs.
I have a used Evans practice pad, and I getting good rebound but not getting the same rebound on the drums - any suggestions? Plus - what do you have wrapped around your sticks? does it muffle the sound? Thanks for all your great video, just a beginner and very excited about learning.
I just started using a pad before actually buying a drum set as i want to make sure i can do the basic stuff. But im having problems with my left hand, its just all over the place missing the pad all together sometimes. Think that will improve with practice? Thx
Im in the same boat. I am a guitarist and my right hand is very very accurate r l r r l r l l lol. I droo the left hand stick or rim shot the snare etc.
It takes time to improve your non-dominate hand. Work on rudiments slowly focusing on stick control and technique. Speed comes after lots of slow repetition. .
Eden have you started yet??? You totally should! I play in my highschool's battery and had a blast last season! Looking forward to more of it. Drum set it also an option and is equally as fun.
Eden google music stores in your area. Many of them will offer lessons for a cost. Absolutely don't be afraid to ask! It's their passion and they'd love to help you! Playing like a pro will only come from hard work and practicing. You cant think about "when will it happen?" You must work for it, but the journey to that point is a spectacular one you'll enjoy.
I need your opinion! I am a guitar and piano player, and I can kinda hold the rythm steady on a 4/4 song on drums. I can play the beginner 4/4 rythms quite well. For example, I can play "snow" by the RHCP, with just a few mistakes here and there, but it's decent. I have the opportunity to play on a real drumset once a week, for about an hour, on a local music school. Without any teacher. Do you think a practice pad can help me develop techniques and learn drum rolls etc? I would appreciate some drummer-tips, thanks!
Yeah! I play drums for about just under half a year and I’m getting a pad tomorrow and I normally Drum on random things but it’s great for traveling and practice if your In a band
I've just started practicing on practice pad but still haven't perfected how to hold drumsticks. I just don't seem to find that perfect position where the flow is smooth. My hits are all messed up right now.
wow I want a drum pad for practice but I want this drum pad as my side snare like a Electronic drum pad. I had to spend money to buy that Pintech Drum electronic pad as my side snare.
Hey man, I've been playing for about a year but I cannot get holding sticks/stick technique down. I've seen tons of videos but I feel like nothing is changing. What should I do?
Skinny Bolts Jakson well the best option is to take lessons. But if you can't do that, play on your pad in front of a mirror and watch your hands to make sure they don't change from the correct grip.
BUTTS69 Or with more practice you’ll eventually learn to use your fingers only for rebound. Honestly it just takes a ton of practice it took me almost two months to get it all into muscle memory

Skinny Bolts Jakson what exact grip are u trying to get down
Grayson Hamilton you dont learn because u dont try to listen to what they say
When u hold a stick, relax your hands dont grip it to much.
When your druming do not use your whole arm use your rist
BUTTS69 Or with more practice you’ll eventually learn to use your fingers only for rebound. Honestly it just takes a ton of practice it took me almost two months to get it all into muscle memory
