About Drum Beats Online:
Drum Beats Online is a website that helps you become a better drummer. The website is full of drum lessons, performance tracks (drumless play along songs,) merchandise, and more! I'm constantly striving to make Drum Beats Online not only an educational place for drummers, but also a fun place for drummers to grow and stretch themselves. I'd highly encourage you to check out the website, I really think you'll like what you see!
I'm totally loving these exercises. As a teenager I played drums in a covers band then had to have major brain and spinal surgery and was paralysed in a wheelchair for fifteen years. I was told I'd never walk, work or have children. Now I'm working, walking and have three girls :) :) :) I've never been happier and just three weeks ago I bought a Roland TD9KX. I'm totally rubbish but really enjoying myself. I have no sensation at all in my left arm and leg but muscle memory and these exercises are enabling me to progress (slowly) and have fun. I've had to go all the way back to the begining but these exercises are way more fun than when I was a seven year old learning. Thank you for helping to make a middle aged bloke happy.
Your story is better than the last 200 movies I've watched combined.
Such an inspiration. I love to hear about it. I'm just starting learning, so I can teach my 6 year old son. I will tell him about you. God bless and keep living. That's what life means. Over come the the obstacles and live. Thank God for music.
I'm a musician and have also worked with brain and spinal cord Injury patients. I'm suffering without band activities since lockdown started a year ago, and can only imagine what it must be like to lose those abilities for so long but music is wonderful therapy and motivation, esp drum set and in your situation. Im so happy for you that you were able to get back to playing at least in some manner!!!! It takes so much work and patience to recover from such an ordeal and maybe never fully. I have so much respect for those who keep working at it. Such determination is truly inspiring.
that's awesome man and a great inspiration. I needed a bit of positivity in my life at the moment thanks.
Amazing... I'm so happy for you... God has healed you give him all the glory and praise... When the doctors say there is no hope God says there is HOPE...If your not a Christian I'm encouraging you to seek God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in doing the will of God👍👏...Have a great day ❤❤

Holy MAMA! Thank you thank you thank you. Ok, I know I'm a bit excited here, but I have to share why.
I'm finally taking time off work, it's just been a HAUL of a few months.
Non-stop. I needed a break and wanted to try something new.
And fun. So I thought I should start playing and singing and learning about music. And then I found THIS!
It's incredible, I mean, there are so many channels and videos and sites online that have been so helpful.
I LOVE THE INTERNET!
I am going to share this and other channels with my friends at work. Well, we'll see what happens.
Thank you so much for this video!
That makes me so happy to hear! I’m really glad you are taking some time to invest in yourself! Keep it up!
Just got my first kit at 57 and looked up beginners drum lessons and check out your video and i am now hooked. You make it sound so easy. I suppose it’s like they say ‘Practice makes perfect’ 😁😁🥢🥢🥢🥢
These exercises are good and you get a good feeling when you master them.
sneddy exactly!
Thank you
I bought a new alesis surge to just pick up my love for drumming. I stopped drumming 23 years ago after a big bike accident.
These first lessons took me back to my beginnings.
Thank you.
Hi gabe you are such an inspiration. I am eager to learn more. Wish someday you could teach me personally. Lucky we have drumset at home and i learn for free. I love you. Thanks
I am a drummer (66 yr old) I've been in some small successful bands and I still learn from young Gabe, he has such an elemental teaching manner that makes one want to progress
On the second excercise i had some difficulty with it but all i needed was counting , these excercises are tought very simply i thank u for that
I’m new to drumming, i have wanted to play since i was a kid. Now at 54 i got my electric drum set so i can make my dream come true. I don’t know how to read notes so i was looking for a video to practice with. This video is perfect for me and i cant wait to try it out tomorrow. I loved how you explained things first then showed what it looked like and sounded like, that will help me allot.
8 months later... are you still at it?
This is great. I’m already 66yo, but I’d like to give myself the chance to learn to play the Drums. Thank you!

Thanks for this lesson! I just took my first real lesson, but I didn't really remember what to do so I found this and started with your first beat, quarter note, 8th note, 16th note on high hat, and practiced that with kick on one and three, snare on two and four. It was great! Then I added in an eighth note roll down the toms, and then back to repeat on one.
Thanks for the good exercises! Was getting bored with what lessons I’ve had (take lessons from a buddy on Saturday mornings) been playing a few weeks. This helped expand the exercises I’ve been doing. Thanks!
Very simple but powerful lesson for a person who hasn't played a set of drums in over 50 years. (like me) I enjoy all of your videos. Thanks for sharing. Joe
Excited I will start my first drumming lesson in church tomorrow...🔥
I've played in front with my guitar and sang as leader for 30 years and always loved to bash out a few.
But thanks to these very helpful tips I'm able to make not only my own drummer smile but others as well and getting offers to jam as a drummer when and if in need.
Ha
Thanks again
🙋♀️, I just set up my drum set and started looking for beginner's lessons. I feel hopeful now. Drumming has always been a passion of mine and I really want to learn. Thank you

Just got my first drum kit form my husband this week and first thing I did was try your exercices. I actually managed to make some sound with this thing that are not repulsive! I didn't think I could actually hit a kick drum and a snare and a hi hat in a semi coordinated way, but your video helped me a lot and gave me the confidence boost I needed to start this thing right! So thanks :) I clicked on your course's link though and it tell me that I can't opt in because my email adresse is suspected to be a spam bot :D maybe it's something to look into, I will try again later though! Cheers!
Thank you you really made me get good in drumming
It’s my pleasure!!
Had my first drum lesson on my 70th birthday in July. Just bought a cheap used kit. Watching this video again now. :) This old lady making rhythm!
I like your method, you break it down in counting, then show how to play it measures! Enjoyed. As you know it can get very difficult on though drum patterns! That comes with pratice and time!I,ll keep watching you're Videos!
I think this tips for beginners on how to play drums, really helps me a lot because this make sense and also it helps me on how to beat good in timing. This is the best way Lesson I've learned today thank you so much for making us Motivated to do better in Playing Drums😊 Stay And God bless ❤️

These were awesome of making my brain get out of the 2-4 rut, concentrating on the switch to the 3rd beat was awesome.

Just bought a set of Pearl drums from an empty nester.
Anxious to get started.

Retep Mullenoski me too
I've had sticks and practiced with that for 4 years before I bought a drum set. If u buy the sticks, the drums will follow
Dave Grohl (the drummer of Nirvana and now lead singer of the Foo fighters) learned on pillows.
am being helped through these drum lessons. don't stop please; continue
Deciding to give Drumming another go. After I had a critical person said I could not play.
Dude don't ever let anyone tell you that you cannot do something. Everyone learned to ride a bike the same way, we all fell and it hurt. But we got back up. That's what counts.
I appreciate the free drum lessons, its so much to learn.
Great intro to drumming. I've played guitar for 40 years but my wife gave me a set of Alesis electronic drums (she's not stupid; I think she figured giving me a set that could be used with headphones was better than risking I'd go out and buy an acoustic set) after seeing them on my Amazon wish list
Wow, you really simplify beginning drum lessons for the first timer never picked up the sticks
Thanks bro it really helps amateurs like me get better gana stick with all your lessons until I get better thanks a whole lot

Thank you very much for all your help!!! Getting to love the art of drumming!!!!
Had my VERY 1st drum lessons yesterday AND holy fuck it was fun as hell. I can't wait for more!
I'm your newbie! At 55 I fulfilled my bucket list of having a drum set thanks to my wonderful children. Let's go : )
Thats awesome. Have fun drumming.
Nice, pretty much descriptive, I enjoyed the serenity and clarity of this video, it made learning the tutorial convenient
Was really fun learning whit you god bless you
He,s really good at explaining how to or what drums to hit and how
I have always loved the drums. I have never had a set, I always put other things before it. But this year my gf got me a used set. They are an older set and some of the heads are beaten up pretty bad. Anyway. Thanks for doing these videos! I don't have any training so they will help me out tremendously!
I love these lessons. Thank you very much for the lessons. Ive learnt alot. Stay awesome
Because of just my 4 year music production and 2 and a half year guitar playing I found it pretty easy to get into drumming. Never necessarily needed to count as I've got fairly good sense of rhythm now and timekeeping. Ive tried counting and it makes my learning progress about the same if not slower. I suppose it's preference if it helps you on being aware of where you are exactly then go for it but I've not found much use for it at the moment but I'll see how it goes as I get into more complex beats.
This is exactly how I started on the drums some 40 years ago. Great job . I hope we can see some young drummers sticking to learning all your life. Good luck. Paddy C
WOW111 i"M truly impress with this lesson, i was feeling down as a older person trying to learn to play the drums for the first time and finding it tough to have hand coordination while keeping count on the bass drum but you have helped me on how to keep time. now i feel better to go on and be the best . My main goal is to practice, practice ,practice
Don't worry its common to struggle with cordination and counting it takes abit time but you get there. Keep on practicing.
You ready helped me grow and showed me drumming from another perspective, keep doing your good work
I'm a new subscriber here and really eager to learn how to play drums. I found ur video very helpful to a newbie like me looking for a very good foundation in playing drums.😀 God bless your YT channel😀
Thank you so much, on behalf of all beginner drummers!! I’m doing my best, it’s difficult though because I’m paralyzed from the upper chest and my fingers and hands don’t work. I think I’m getting it though! Thank you again! ☺️
Simplified yet the most awesome lesson I ever came across in drum tutorials!!!Kudos!!
The lessons are great for me as a begginner. Hope to learn more

Great videos, they help teach my son things I'm unable to explain.
That brief lesson has relit my fire. Thanks.
This is awesome, thank you for taking the time to help beginners out.
Thank u for this drum exercise... I can learn from this...GOD BLESS
Thank you for bringing it down to a level I can understand. Never played an instrument, but can keep a beat.
I’m a guitar player that has dabbled with the drums for years, even played drums decently enough for a band years ago. But I’m definitely not a really good player and I find these exercises useful. I’m trying to get good enough to do my own drum tracks for my songs.
My daughter gave up drums to focus on her cello. Momma playing drums and loving it. Great post really appreciate it 🤣☺️
And thats how the beginning of a band starts lol
Extremely easy to understand and exactly what I needed to get me started learning finally. Thanks a bunch brother, I'm brand new and been very slow to catch on with others teachings. You nailed it. Maybe I'll be able to get the hang of it soon with some new sticks too.
I’m currently 12 yrs old now ,I took drum lessons as a kid but didn’t take it seriously, then when quarantine started I wanted to play music again so I practiced bass and guitar my brother also like the same instruments as me , also he was the only one who took the drum lessons seriously,so now my brother is better than me , I still remember most of the drums lessons got thing I still have muscle memory.welp that was long all I can say is thx for this video it was really helpful
Gawd, getting back into it at 55 after decades off geezus i need a lot of help and practice.
Just at the beginning of my journey but a great lessen, look forward to many more.

You are an awesome teacher! really love the work you put into your videos!! Keep it up...
Pretty easy, put in around 3 hours and perfected it on my first week of drums
Thank you , I’m a long time drummer but this certainly helped refresh some technics.
