- Hey guys! This week's video is about how to do well in GCSE French! In this video, I talk about how I got a 9 in French how you can do it too!
I was planning on posting this video last Friday and posting another video today, but I ended up being swamped by work at school. I'm still thinking of uploading twice a week, but I will be delaying this transition until February.
Thank all of you so much for watching, I really hope that you enjoyed this video and found it useful. I tried to get straight to the point and be more concise than my last revision video!
If you have any further questions about this video, please leave me a comment below or dm me on instagram @asia._.marie and I will happily answer anything!
Thank you!!
I have just spent the last 2 hours revising for my mocks. I have been using quizlet. I felt a silent achievement when you recommended it. 😂
Haha, good job! Make sure you’re taking breaks though 👀👏🏾

Thank youuuu you’re a life saver I’m gonna watch Princess and the Frog in French because I’ve watched it so many times in English and also some of it is in French words anyway so that should be useful. Awesome video!!
You’re very welcome, I’m so happy you found it useful. Enjoy the movie! 😊
@@AsiaMarieYT Thanks 😁😁
I’m a Year 7, who has seemed to call in love with French , I can’t wait to do my French GCSEs
Loving the language makes learning it even more fun 💃🏾 Good luck! 😊
I’m in grade 7 and I started late French immersion last year and all my friends who go to different schools I do their French homework for them 😌 And yes I OFFERED to. Because their work is so easy because it’s like super basic.
For some reason I find my own homework hard but when it's others I don't. Anyways also explain how to do the work to them so they're learning too

Anyone else here the night before they take a big french exam

@@AsiaMarieYT it went actually quite well thank you

@@AsiaMarieYT I got a 6 😁😁
Ayyy, amazing job!! Congrats 🥳👏🏾
when you mentioned Indila (especially denier dance) I literally screamed because did that as well so I feel accomplished😭
Yay #indilarevision 🤗
I love your videos
Thank you so much, that’s very kind 😌✨
Love your video and congratulations! 🎉 What is a practice paper? Thank you! 😊
Aw, thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. By practice papers, I mean GCSE papers from previous years that you can now use to practice. You can find them on your exam board’s website under something like “assessment resources”. Hope this helps!✨
@@AsiaMarieYT thank you for taking the time to explain! 🙏🏽
Of course!! No problem at all, thank you for watching ❤️✨
Me watching this at midnight before my listening and reading today as if it’ll make a difference like 😂 love the video tho
Dude legit same. Go to bed tho - its almost 1 and you're gonna need to focus. We'll do great... good luck xx
@@erinelizabeth8244 lol went to bed not long after commenting this, how did u find it? Cuz I think it was chillll
Haha, I’m glad you at least enjoyed the video 😊
@@DockerBootLaces yh it was weirdly easy
Another thing I'd recommend is putting your phone and apps in french it helps with reading and is just a constant practice!
That’s an amazing tip, thank you for sharing!
I feel like the jump between a 8 and 9 is ridiculously big
Hey Asia!! I loved this video so much, it's super helpful. Question: What's the name of the other French artist you listen to? I listen to Indila and Edith Piaf but I wanted to know the name of the other guy you mentioned....something like Tomas?? Thomas?? I'm not really sure.
Hey! Thank you so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Sorry, I probably butchered the pronunciation 😂
The artist’s name is Stromae. Hope this helps! ✨
@@AsiaMarieYT my french teacher LOVES him!! we listen to stromae every lesson😭
Omg! That sounds so fun 🤩
@@AsiaMarieYT right? i think it’s to calm us too because i’m starting my GCSES next month 😭
That’s really nice of them! Best of luck, just stay calm and trust yourself. You’ve got this 🙌🏾👍🏾

I don’t know whether to do french or latin. I know that both are technically languages but I guess latin is a dead language not a modern foreign language like french so should I do french or latin because I enjoy latin more and I hate french, I’ll probably get a C or a B if I’m very lucky in french compared to an A or a B if I’m unlucky in latin but the point is french will be much worse than latin would be and than my other subjects will be so is there any point doing it? I’m not going to pursue either of them to a-level btw. I mean I’ve heard people say that universities love latin but I’ve also heard people say that some universities really want you to have done a modern foreign language. I’ve already sorted out all my other options and I can only do one language so I can’t do both. At the moment I am thinking about doing maths, psychology and history for a-level and doing law at university that makes a difference, but that could easily change. Also I’m really not planning to have anything to do with France, I don’t want to work there and I don’t plan to go on holiday there, perhaps once but that’s it. Advice?
The decision is entirely yours to make so I’ll simply say that it’s best to do something you’ll enjoy. GCSEs are hard and there will be times when you don’t feel like revising and it’ll be even worse if you hate your subjects. Don’t be influenced too much by what other people say - take it into consideration but ultimately you know what’s best for you. Hope this helps 🙂🤞🏾
Could you link the flash cards from 1:44 if you remember where they’re from?? I’d love to buy them!

Dernier danse is such a good song
It’s still one of my favourites 🥹
Where do u find listening practice papers?
Go to the French section of your exam board’s website and go to their ‘assessment resources’ (that’s what they’re called on AQA 🙃) and there should be all types of practice papers including listening 🙂
im so bad at french.I feel so behimd in class and my grade is 2. I need so much help so im gonna try ur suggestions. Is there anthing else i can do?
French is a really hard language, to be fair. It takes a lot of time and practice. Try not to be too hard on yourself. These tips worked for me personally and I hope they’ll work for you, too. A lot of them were taught to me by my French teacher so hopefully it helps you. Maybe try asking your classmates or your teacher for some extra help? Try to figure out exactly which parts you’re struggling with and start there 😊👍🏾
my teacher for french is horrible but i need to get an A for my school to let me do the A Level so… i have to teach myself the course in 3 months
I’m sorry to hear that. Try not to stress - make a solid plan for the next few months so that you know what you’re doing. Focus on your weakest areas first and work backwards from there. Good luck 🤞🏾☺️
HELP!!
SOMEONE PLEASE RECOMMEND GRAMMAR RESOURCES TO QUICKLY LEARN HOW TO SWITCH BETWEEN TENSES 😭😭😭
brev my skl asked me to take french early (so in year 10) and im doing my actual iGCSE next month im hella scared
If they asked you to do it early they must think you’re really good! Don’t sweat it, just do your best, you’ll be amazing 💕

You’ll do great, I know it! 😌
@@AsiaMarieYT hardest french paper I have ever sat
I’m sorry to hear that. I had a similar thing with my listening exam. Don’t sweat it, you probably did better than you think 😊
Our school suddenly stopped offering French so I'm having to study the language by myself to the GCSE in a year's time :((
Thanks for the advice, you're such a mood lol
Aw thank you, that’s really sweet. Quite frustrating that your school did that but well done for persevering on your own! 👏🏾😉
Get a french boyfriend or girlfriend at least a year before your exam.
Where did you get past papers from???
u can get them from dynamic papers or topical past papers
I found mine on the AQA website. Your exam bored should have an archive of past papers somewhere on their site ✨
Ur video was really useful but I think one thing you forgot was to learn like infinitives and past tense, present, future conditional etc. and how to structure them especially regular verbs
she said grammar
Not me choosing my GCSE’s in year 8 and choosing french and German 👁👄👁
