Thank you so much. I did exactly the same thing. I was so frustrated. I did not want to use force to get it unstuck because there was a good chance I would break this very expensive new food processor. After listening to your video, I was able to calm down and get it unstuck. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I have been calling company. Reading instructions. Close to sending it back. You just saved me so much worry and frustration. It actually worked. You would think manufacturers would picture there products in the proper working position. Again thanks. Bless you heaps and bounds.
You are a life saver. I was ready to send it back, because I thought they sent me a lemon. The instructions do not show the feeder on the opposite side. Thanks again..
This problem exists with the 11-cup model, too. It's a scandal that Cuisinart produces these machines with such poor engineering. I did not put the lid on the bowl backwards, I attached it correctly with the handle to the back but now it will not come off. Cuisinart does not service what it sells: very poor business practice.
I just removed ours a few minutes ago, it got put on wrong, I used a rubber hammer and hit the tab counter clockwise a couple times and it came right apart, you got luck by just pulling it apart, ours even has a sticker showing correct and incorrect way to install and we did it wrong
The biggest issue is the terribly poor design of a product that used to in earlier models work in the opposite direction (and worked fine). It does not help that Cuisinart's so-called owner's manual is pathetically illiterate and does not provide detail or a caution. A well-engineered product ruined by short-sightedness, and Cuisinart customer service is awful.
The video is useless because it doesn't give a solution. The short answer is to take a flat head screwdriver and gently pry the lid open where the ridge is that is supposed to line up with the base unit to the right side when facing it. Don't use sudden force, gently increase the force and it will pry itself loose.
DO NOT DO THIS. This answer from JohnSmith=pk8st is absolutely wrong. Gentle pressure will allow you to loosen the top of the food processor in the reverse direction.
Thanks for posting. I was able to remove a jammed lid by forcing it without breaking it. I regret not taking a video of the process. I pried the lid up, similar to removing a Tupperware or butter lid. The lid jamming issue is apparently a problem with this model as evidenced by this video and the comments. I found and watched this video when my lid jammed. I also watched Cuisinart's UA-cam instructional video about my model. They state that the lid is easy to place, but they never show how to align the lid with the chute opposite the handle to prevent the lid jamming or what to do if the lid jams. I am not new to food processors. My previous food processor, a 2009 cuisinart elite, had a snap on lid, a better idea in my opinion. At one time Cuisinart did a much better job of helping customers use their machines by posting excellent instructional videos such as the one for my former model ua-cam.com/video/bb6bo04jnHY/v-deo.htmlsi=lZZ5nLjuh-QXOAhl Not wanting to take a chance breaking a brand new machine, I called customer service. Customer service was no help and on the verge of being rude. The rep said she's not with me so how would she be able to help me. Then she suggested I search youtube for a solution to my problem . Then I was lectured that if I broke the lid by forcing it, it would not be covered under warranty. I asked to talk to a supervisor. The same rep came back on the line and said the supervisor suggested using vegetable oil......what a disappointment from a formerly trusted brand.

Thank you very much! I was so frustrated for about 45 mins not being able to figure out why I couldn’t lock the lid!

!Thanks! Just what we needed!
Thanks for the video but you don’t actually show how you got it off! How much force, in what way? Please help!
Very helpful 🙏🙏🙏🙏
You just helped me soooo much
Use a butter knife and slide it inside the lid near the lock to make room to jig it free.

I understand becuase I thought the same thing about the plastic very fragile. I have a hard time putting the Food Tube on .. scary.

So can you show us how you did this
I literally just made this mistake. 😣
Where is the way to solve
