Amy, I followed your lead in buying the DLC-7 eight blade set for my Custom 14 food processor about 6 months ago. NO REGRETS about the purchase! I added the fine grating blade as well. Hopefully I will get 30 yrs. a use from this kitchen machine!
Hi Amy, This Cuisinart is the same as the Cuisinart DLC 7 Pro in terms of function fittings and size, the blades are so solid and work so well and I love my set, the blade set with every size of slicing and some other blades, Cuisinart made the blade set as a kit and they fit perfectly on the Custom 14, I find this series the best food processor ever made for the home cook, or caterer. I purchased my Cuisinart DLC 7 PRO many years ago and I have collected all the attachments that were made for it, including the mixer insert, the Pasta maker and the Juicer with three sizes of reamers, I have several extra motor bases and bowls for spares in case anything ever breaks, so far for thirty years plus everything is still fully functional and a joy to use.
Having a back-up motor is a smart thing to do along with have an extra work bowl and cover. I had the CFP 5 and the first part that was discontinued for it was the work bowl. Mine lasted for over 35 years! I added the expanded feed tube kit and the 8 blade set used these accessories often. When I could not find another usable work bowl, I waited for the Custom 14 to be on sale, two weeks later, it was for $50. off reg. price! I did like Amy and found a DLC-7 set of blades to use with this new unit. NO REGRETS about the purchase of this mint condition set! I also added the fine grater blade. Too bad the "granddaddy" (DLC-X) is no longer manufactured! If I did catering, I would want that unit in my appliance arsenal! Glad to read about others having success with the original Cuisinart food processor design.
@russ5024 Hi Russ, I was so lucky to find a DLC X at an estate sake, I was so surprised, it even had 3 disc's with stem as well as the main blade and an additional new work bowl
I have that set in a box that I bought decades ago. I really need to start using my processir. I just dug out the box and the price on it was eighty five dollars.
So glad to find this video, I inherited my mom's Cuisinart blades and she almost never used any of them beyond just the shredder. I want to try out the DLC-033 which is probably the same as what you called the 3x3. The box says it makes 1/8" strips but mentions softer foods so I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage my processor trying to use carrots. Thank you for showing it, can't wait to try it now. Am making coleslaw and didn't want just shreds of carrots.
Hi Amy, Just wondering why your 14 cup base is black all around. The base in the link is silver all around. So makes me wonder if your blades will fit in the linked model as I did locate a blade set! I need the smallest footprint possible and was set on the 9 cup Breville Paradice with adjustable blade, which is basically the same size as this 14 cup Cuisinart! Then I read that Breville isn’t large enough for a two-sided pie crust? :( I’d at least like to be able to do that (I liked how everything stored inside the 9 cup Breville too) Do you think the discs will fit in the newer 14 cup versions? Cuisinart & other sites model is DFP-BCNY? I believe the blade kit you have is the DLC 7 (as someone mentioned here) made for an older Cuisinart DLC 7 Pro) the larger Breville’s look like monsters haha
Hi Amy, ich habe 3 blades, julian, grate and slice..habe es gebraucht for 9 jare gekauft. Da wir winter in Australia haben, dann koche ich mehr suppen . Aber in summer wird es mehr benutzt
