I watched all of the anime when it aired but never really thought it was anything great but then I heard the manga was great and read the entire thing in a couple of days. I would love a volume done so you guys can experience this story at its best and not left with only the anime.

Tokyo Ghoul's first season is mostly faithful barring the pacing. The adaptation goes way faster from fight to fight while the manga is much slower; the bulk of the story coming from interactions, investigations or character introspection instead of more heavy action like the anime.
Love that u guys appreciate the manga. I've been recommending ppl to read instead of watch Tokyo Ghoul for years and not once has any1 been disappointed. The anime isn't total shit so anime-onlys can still enjoy it. But it hurts to watch the anime distort such a perfect story that's already on paper. I'm gonna keep screaming for an anime reboot till I die tbh. If TG had the faithful adaptation it deserves, I'm 100% certain it would've been as big or even bigger than Attack on Titan right now. (esp with how Kaneki parallels Eren in so many instances)
Read all of Tokyo Ghoul and :Re in two days. The manga was so good I couldn't stop, I'm still surprised how an anime studio could screw up such a good base in the adaptation.
I would love to see a series review. Great episode, I have found my new favorite podcast.

Also just as a heads up. Tokyo Ghoul is split into two parts, Tokyo Ghoul which is 14 volumes then part 2 is Tokyo Ghoul :re which is 17 volumes. If you only read Tokyo Ghoul, you miss out on the other half of the story.
As someone who read/watched all of the Tokyo Ghoul + Tokyo Ghoul :re. The pacing is pretty weird since season 1 covers 8ish volumes of Tokyo Ghoul in the 12 episodes and because of it a decent amount is cut out. The rest of the anime suffers from this since the transition between Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul :re is even more confusing in the anime than it is in the manga.

Loved the episode I liked TG but the more I watched I fell out of it but loved the episode and invincible one shot episode?? Not a huge comic guy but loved it and would like to hear Cody’s opinion the changes they make, big love gang gang💜

Kaneki starts off as a OK protagonist but as the series goes on he becomes one of the greatest protagonists to ever be.
I recommend you guys read Holyland. One of the best martial/arts and seinen series which is super underrated
