Nice video, I really appreciate this review after several years of ownership. I just bought a 2020 Tiguan SE a few days ago, it is quite good. Btw you killed me with the rear lights segment 😂
@@itsdil thanks, I like it more every day. I am thinking of getting it tuned to increase the horsepower …the 186 HP is really my only gripe with this car
I have had my Tiguan R line for 3 years and i ordered my new one a few months ago, I order an R line ehybrid. You are right the newer models do come with less spec as standard. But I believe this is so they can lower the co2 output for all the cars in the range. Then you add your options after. It’s a bit of a con as the price of the car dose not come down. I really like my Tiguan and if it didn’t happen to be on a PCP I would not be changing it.
Just bought a 2016 Tiguan R Line, the 2.0 TDI DSG 190hp I must say for the money I think they're brilliant with virtual cockpit, sat nav, lane assist, cooling glove box, pan roof, front and rear heated seats a lot of car for the money. It was £5k less than a SQ5 I looked at which had more miles on the clock and less features! Time will tell how reliable it is but fingers crossed nothing major.
Ooo awesome! Was this a new generation SQ5 in question? But yes the Tiguan R line comes handsomely specced - a similar spec on the Audi would really be hitting the pockets. Hope you have fun with it🙌
I just bought a used 2019 2.0 TDI R line allspace 4 motion with very low mileage. I was moving from the bullet proof first gen Tiguan TDi 2013. This car is great, the only gripe is we don't get the manual transmission like the one you have but only the 7 speed DSG, which for me it is an Achilles hill for a great car.
hi mate, looking to buy a 2019 Tiguan just basic model, not r line or whatever but was just wondering if you have any knowledge on them? I'm hearing people say stay as far away as possible from 2nd hand tiguans as leaks and other various repairs are just so frequent. Thanks in advance.
Hi pal, I've had no major issues with mine like such, in fact its been a pretty much hassle free ownership. Of course further down the line you may get some issues given the age an mileage - which car doesn't? It's a solid car overall, but the R line kinda compensates for it because of the extras it comes with. Try searching for an SE, if not an SEL because it makes sense that the dearer spec models are better looked after by their owners rather than a basic entry level model. Could try searching in forums for problems with them from owners who have an aged one with a fair few miles!
Hi! Great review btw! Quick question Would it make any difference with manual gb or dsg. I like the manual but most r line available are dsg. I'm still looking really. Thanks
Thanks for your feedback🙂 and I mean I would definitely have confidence in VW DSGs, but finding a manual shouldn't really be difficult as they were definitely popular when the 2nd Gen Tiguan R-line was released. But yes, they may be rarer on the R line trim.
I dont have the r line but i have the sel premium and it has basically all the specs the r line has n i love it my friends say it reminds them of a audi or something 😂
Pretty solid, the car has had no major issues hitherto given that its been taken care of, regular servicing etc. Sometimes, but very rarely the Bluetooth connectivity would play up if anything, but thats a given with most cars. Some DSGs have had issues with their gearboxs, but mine was a manual. Prices to maintain them annually are in line with the the average, pretty good for a sizeable SUV👍🏼
@@itsdil like you said there are lots of variables, we just happen to live in Sussex and it is a low crime area and the car in either parked on the drive or in the garage at night, also it is our family car so normally got kids in. So the I guess the insurers see us as low risk.
@@Danny-204 Yeah of course, the amount of variables are honestly endless, theres always a better price available somehow. I know of some who have had cheaper quotes saying that they park on the street rather than in a garage as apparently they "get broken into" makes little sense, but I guess it indicates a more desirable victim

@@chrislee6853 Oooh. Im guessing a performance remap would take it to over 220hp? Let me know how it feels after the tuning!
The revolver part killed me. I never noticed that before. Cool stafff
Hahaha just my weird brain😂😅

Hundred percent! And hey, theres always some pros and cons to an upgrade😁 thanks for the comment!
Good review fella. Thinking of getting one of these. Normally I'm a BM or Audi man, but you get more for your money with this MPV. Ta mate
Definitely do man. Appreciate the kind remarks👊
Great car , same as mine , i love it too and looks a lot better then the new version 👍
Appreciate it and hundred percent agreed!
Many thanks for your review mate from Australia 🇦🇺 I’m getting one
Glad it was useful mate! Exciting👍🏼
Great review man! keep it up :)

@@itsdil It was a 2015 SQ5 in fact I think it's still on AutoTrader now (King's Lynn Audi) Blue £30k
I have a 2020 SEL with the same engine and DSG. It's a great car, quick and quite economical.
Good review, and respect for opting for the manual 👌🏻
Thank you! Haha, Manuals can definitely be fun 👍🏼

@@itsdil for sure! Will try my best to remember haha
Could I fit 3 child seats at the rear comfortably?
Two definitely, three, I am unsure... I think only the rear two seats have isofix in the Tiguan
I just bought one but the mpg doesn’t seem to get me more than 28mpg! Feel like I’ve made a huge mistake, why is this?
What engine do you have? And is it a petrol or diesel?
2.0 tdi 150bhp dsg 2016
@@h38qaz Strange. The DSG shouldn't be much different... Maybe it's the type of driving you do? More city roads than motorway miles?

No heated steering wheel is there?
Not standard, only as an option 👍🏼
What’s your fuel consumption like? Does it do good mileage on a full tank?
Oh pretty good actually, average is around 50 mpg (Urban and motorway driving)

How much was the car also how much do u pay for the insurance 🤔
The car bought new upon release 33-34k. And insurance differs for everyone it was a multi insurance policy so.
For me and my wife we pay about £230 a year, they are not expensive to insure
@@Danny-204 Thats very impressive
