Just a quick note to say thanks for posting these videos on the 2018 Tiguan. They have been extremely helpful. 10 years ago we brought a nearly new Mark 1 SE TDi 150 2008 plate & have had a fabulous 10 ten years with the car & the best car we have owned. I was determined not to buy another Tiguan (just for a change) so over the past 6 months have been doing my research on all the compact SUV's available, even test driving the new Volvo XC40 (which is very nice but still felt cramped). This week we drove back home in our R-line 18 reg nearly new Tiguan. It's worth highlighting to anyone reading this that the Mk2 is nothing like the Mk1 - It's a completely different car. Agree with the video that the ride in the R-Line is still very comfortable, even with those sporty wheels. We chose the TSi 2.0 180ps (its a mad man in Sports mode) as we only do around 6k miles a year & not the 12k plus that warrants the extra cost of a diesel. I don't work for VW & yes you do look like Simon Pegg ;) Thanks once again for posting the videos.
Darren Matthews Thanks for your comments and support. I’ve only had the Simon Pegg thing on here and a flight to New York, but I’ll go with it I guess. All t’best
I'm in the market for a new car and have had my eyes on the Tiguan for about month now. After viewing tons of videos, I must say that as a family man, this is by far the most informative one yet. Truly gives you a sense of what it would be like to live with the car. Love it!
Thanks very much. The car has since been sold on and there’s a Formentor hybrid sat on the drive but the Tiguan was a cracking car. Hearing they are having faults with the 4 motion whining so keep an ear out when going round corners at about 10-20mph
I just want to say that your video reviews of the VW Tiguan has been brilliant and a great compliment to the car editors with your real life usage and honest opinion. I can hear and see your passion in the car. I am currently on the look out and you may have swayed me and I may not look at any other car! :D
Just bought one of these 2019. After watching your videos I now know how it all works. Thanks so much for going to the effort of making these videos. Also Frank is great. I also have a frank
The Tiguan went 18 months ago replaced by a Formentor. I miss the VW loads, it was comfy, spacious, looked good, great tech and when my time is up with it I may go back to a Tiguan and plump for the Elegence model instead.
Absolute class. Keep it up mate. Currently in the USA for studies but I’ll be getting one of these on my return to the UK. Most likely the 150hp R line in white!
Great Video! Just ordered mine, same spec as yours, due to this video! thanks for sharing all the info/spec etc. I pick mine up in just under 2 weeks! Excited!!
Steve Forrester Thanks for the comments. Looks like you may have just ordered in time as I’ve heard they are lowering some of the spec for the 2019 model for cars built in December onwards. Not by much mind, but they are still charging you the same for the car but taking a few minor spec items off the car.
Last year brought the Allspace bitdi 240 r-line in white ( agree the best colour ) . Even now finding new things eg. It has launch control. In a mummy wagon crazy. The speed of the 240 is awesome. I love the debadged boot as well. Given many a shock at the traffic lights. Paid 37k and in my view a well built and very quick car. With 3 yound kids had to get the leather pack mind you. Test drive the disco sport. That felt plastic, rough and cheap especially for the HSE 46k plus model I tested .. Tiguan hands down for me. Great review
Thanks, probably the best Tiguan review I've seen. Getting a Black R line 2wd manual diesel next week. Going from having Qashqais for 5-6 years, expecting a jump up in quality from Nissan to VW. Going to be towing with it too. 👍
I did look at the Qashqai but it didn't have the space I needed, plus I liked the higher driving position of the Tiguan and also the extra kit which came as standard.
What swung it for us was the extra towing stability than the Nissan Xtrail. Yes, we've had Qashqai's, but we were looking at the Xtrail for towing purposes, and the Tiguan was much better 'on paper' than the Xtrail. Plus, after test driving the Tiguan, stepping back into our 2 month old Qashqai was like getting back into a 10 year old car!! Yes, you sit higher in the Tiguan, and the rear seats and rear room is much better in the Tiguan.
The best video I have watched regarding the Tiguan. I have been debating what car to get and this has made my mind up to go for it. Very informative, thank you.
Great video, bought one myself in 2018 after seeing this video convinced me! Mine was in black but always wished I had gone for white! Just ordered new Tiguan last week this time in white! Would be great to see an update on your car! Take care
Excellent, thanks for the comments. I’m a bit torn with the new one because they have lowered the spec on the r line and increased the price. I’m undecided as to what to do next but it is due for change in December so watch this space 👍🏼
Great review. Had a Uridium Grey R-line since June last year and always keen to get other people’s thoughts. Best car I’ve ever owned, loads of tech and I love the looks too. Enjoy!
Would just like to say great video keep it up , just collecting my R-Line next week being an Ex Demo from VW with 3000miles on clock in the best colour Atlantic Blue with a couple of extras being Leather Seats and Keyless Tailgate and Door , can’t wait
Great video good insight of the Tiguan. Im getting my R line next week in Silver low mileage high specs. I been waiting to get one for a few years. When i test drove it,was like heaven totally loved it fantastic vehicle. Thanks for sharing your videos. Getting a boot cover to.
Was already subbed, but ended up getting one of these - (190 R-Line) - this week. Great informative video that gave us a great insight as to what all the buttons & settings can do - prob saved us finding out in a years time that..."Oh, I didn't know it could do that...." Btw, you've got a great, very natural video presentation style too. Many thanks 👏👍
MogadishuMan Hi, that’s really nice of you to say, thank you. I’ve got a T-roc at the moment and I’m just editing a video on that so stay tuned. All the best and good luck with the new car
Great review, I think it's helped me make my decision on ordering a 2.0 petrol 230PS 4 motion R-Line Tech. Coming from a 400bhp Audi S4 (just need the dealer to improve their offer by £500 on the part ex and i'll sign on the dotted line) I will sacrifice a lot of power but hoping the 230PS is still enough to give me the occasional grin!
Russboyg Defo a bit of a difference, you’ll miss the oomph but I love the high riding position and I more comments on this than any other car I’ve owned. Good luck
Great review. I got my twin turbo SEL in Feb , just before the snow. 18k on it's great. I appreciate the auto wipers working in fog and just how good the adaptive lighting is. Shame you have to enable it each start up. I went for SEL for the ergo seats. I can happily do 700 miles in comfort. Mines grey and doesn't show the dirt too much either. 4 motion and DSG very good.
eBay purchase. However, that was a while ago and the red came unstuck and fell off and the badge looked rubbish after so I took it off and never bothered putting it back on.
Excellent news. Thanks for the feedback. Four years in and I still highly rate mine so much so I wouldn’t want to swap it for the new one because the price has gone up and the spec and tech has taken a backwards step
I'm picking up my slightly lower spec SEL 2.0 DSG 4motion next week. For the record the sensors behind the badge in my 7.5 golf stopped working when it snowed.
Excellent videos which I've enjoyed watching as The Tiguan R line 2 litre diesel auto (same as yours) is on my shortlist as my possible next car. Could you do a review of the DSG gearbox and its positive and negative points please? My current car is a 2010 Nissan Qashqai +2 (seven seater) which has the 2 litre engine with a 6 speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. I tow a small caravan and the Nissan handles it brilliantly, in fact the whole car has been totally reliable in the 9 years we have owned it. I have heard mixed reviews of the DSG gearbox and that is my only reservation switching from a tried and trusted "slush box" to a twin clutch gearbox. Your comments would be most welcome before I part with my cash!
Hi David, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately the car is long since gone after I had it for four years. The gear box was excellent and although I never towed with it my brother has the same car (on my recommendation) and he tows a fairly large caravan without anything to grumble about.
@@kaieshabish22 Thanks for the prompt reply. I am torn between the Tiguan or the Peugeot 3008 GT at the moment, both available with the 2 litre engines and auto boxes. The Peugeot has the Torque convertor box and the VW is a DSG, so trying to get opinions on both! Thanks again for the reply, glad you liked the car it looked great.
I like the look of the Peugeot, what put me off mainly was there was less space inside, the glovebox is a joke and more importantly I couldn’t find a decent driving position because of the small steering wheel and dash board set up, very comfy car though but the VW just felt that bit more polished.
Fantastic video mate. Pick up my car in the exact same model and colour next week! Your videos helped me so much thank you. Also how do you put the head rests down?
Excellent reviewing style and very informative. As a prospective Tiguan R-Line 150 TDI 2wd purchaser I’d just like to ask you about any DPF issues you may or may not have had... I’m asking this as most of my journeys are in an urban environment but I don’t mind the odd 25 miler or 50 miler on dual carriageways or motorways a couple of times a week to clear the cars DPF as basically I don’t want to lease a vehicle that maybe isn’t suited to that type of driving and finish up with 3 years of pain. Thanks for any thoughts you may have and keep up the top class videos.
Al Welsh Thanks for the comments, really appreciated. I’ve had the car for two years now and so can quite honestly say be not had any DPF issues yet and I’ve done 24,000 miles in it. My journeys are all local commutes and each journey is very rarely further than 10 miles and the car is running fine. I’ve used about 15 litres of adblue, which can be a bit of a pain to fill but otherwise, all good. Get one, you won’t regret it
Hey there... what’s the state of ownership 6 months in? Still liking the Tiguan? Faults? Wish you had? Upgrades/Changes you’ve made to Tiguan since last review? Cheers
Don’t know if I said but even though white was the free option it cost more money through my lease! All to with residual value at the end of the lease, allegedly worth less in white! What a load of nonsense!
Steve Fowler I think that may be a misprint , I read that too on their website (unless they’ve added it to the spec in the last four months) If you are referring to the UK car it doesn’t come with the automatic boot lid, i.e. the boot will not rise up on motors, that is a paid option. You can pop the boot on the key but it just releases the boot lock, it won’t lift.
jimmy mcgregor Well, to be honest, and with all due respect, it won’t make the most interesting of vids, the gearbox just kinda works. I’ve got an update video planned for the new year where I’ll talk about it. Thanks for the support
I’m currently looking at getting a 180 4motion TDi Tiguan and have never used an auto DSG box, my hgv’s all have auto and are relatively smooth but in a car I would like to ask.. How responsive is the gearbox to change and is it smooth ? Does it clunk down say decelerating from a motorway slip road to a roundabout you see you can move away on approach clear, like does it get confused or lost ? Is there any turbo lag setting off from stationary ? Thanks in advance, great review and nice to see an in depth look at things other reviewers may not see as important.
Thanks for the comments. The Tiguan was my second DSG, it’s a great gearbox if serviced within the guidelines. It needs oil changes every 40,000 miles, so make sure this has been done, especially in the more powerful engine because it may have been used to tow or by someone who wants a bit more oomph and so will have had more strain on the box. In eco or comfort mode it’s as smooth as you like, indistinguishable gear changes most of the time, kick down is a bit harsh but that’s to be expected and sport mode seems to give a false jolt in an attempt to make the car feel a bit sporty. Moving off can be as steady or as swift as you like, just depends how heavy your right foot is. There is no way I would go back to a manual, I have a PHEV Cupra Formentor now and the gear box is even better because the electric motor takes up any slack from any gear changes either up or down the box. Good luck with the new car, drop me a comment in the messages if you need to know anything. All’t best.
Marc Rider I’m in the process of doing one, but work commitments have got in the way. Hopefully have uploaded before Wednesday. Thanks for your support
Hi, how did you find the ride quality especially over bumps? We were all set on this model until we drove it. It felt extremely hard over bumps and pot holes compared to Q5 and X3. Thanks
I’ve got to be honest I was very impressed given the size of the wheels and the profile of the tyres. There are cars out there which are more comfy, I think if I went that way again I’d go for the SEL because they are fractionally smaller wheels with bigger profile tyres but the car gets all the same equipment. In the current facelift model it would be the Elegence
Good video, currently got a Golf GTI and thinking of changing to a Tiguan but never been a lover of white cars. What do you think to the oryx white and what extras would you recommend getting.
Ricky 1234 Personally l think the R-line looks ace in white but it is a real pain to keep clean at the moment. I am happy with the spec of the R-line, if I would spec any option on top of the standard spec would be the heated screen and maybe the park assist. More videos to come
@@kaieshabish22 Coming late to the party here, but my partner said we weren't having white, but then having seen it she agrees with my suggestion that it really makes the r-line touches jump out at you.
I ordered a large piece and cut it to suit. Easy enough to fit but never wrapped anything before, just take your time and make sure everything is clean and dry. Good luck
Great detailed video , question is yours the 150 or 190 bhp worried the 150 is going to be underpowered ?? Any advice from owners of 150 dsg 4 motion appreciated
james newson Mine is the 150 bhp. It’s ok, it’s not the fastest to be honest, but it suits me. If you are in any doubt go and take a test drive and give it some welly! The 150 is not sluggish at all and is more than enough for everyday use but if your the sort of driver who likes to put your foot down then go for the bigger engine to avoid being disappointed. Thanks for the support ;0)
I disagree. The 150bhp is great. Plenty of punch with the dog gearbox. It may not knock you back in your seat but you will out accelerate a manual car with a much bigger engine.
It was a cracking car, had it for four years but it went to a new home two years ago. The only issue I had was the engine battery started to fail near the end and a replacement was about £300, luckily it went just before it fully gave up and so I swerved that cost. I swapped it for a phev Cupra Formentor and although I love the Cupra I really miss the toys on the Tiguan, the high seating position, the pan roof and the matrix headlights. So much so I’m looking to replace the Cupra with another Tiguan. Hope this helps

Two questions for you if that’s ok. - what dash cam do you use and where do you route the charging cable? - when you use the phone holder do you then plug into the usb to get Apple CarPlay? (Sorry, that was 3 questions 😏)
Richard Emes I use a Transcend Drivepro 220, it’s wired in via the rear seat 12v socket and the cable runs behind the door rubber on the drivers side of the vehicle but Im going to permanently wire it in the fuse box and I’ll do a vid on that. Yes, my iPhone has to be plugged into one of the two usb ports to enable CarPlay, hope that helps
So I know you made a point of mentioning the ride quality on 20 inch alloys but just to be sure......Whats it like on the motorway at full speed? Not too much tyre roar? I've got a Octavia VRS at the moment and ride is a bit jittery at times so don't want to change for something worse. Thanks.
Hi my friend, very nice work on videos!!! Could you make a video explaining how to use the automatic gearbox properly? Thank you for the very useful videos.
Well, great video...well done...I have a Tiguan SEL so can I ask you:can I set navigation on two screen on same time?I mean central one and instrument cluster...
Hi, thanks for the comments. You can’t have both screens showing the VW sat nav, it’s one or the other, but if you have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and have your phone connected to the car via the usb lead you can have the main screen only showing either Apple Maps, Waze or Google maps, but as soon as you use one of those three apps as a sat nav it will shut off the VW map display on the drivers info screen. Not sure why VW have programmed it that way but that’s the best you’re gonna get In afraid. Hope this helps
Hi excellent videos can you tell me if the sunroof on yours shuts with the key my r line will close or open the windows but not the roof. Help appreciated thanks.
Great review, I've had my 2018 R-Line 240 for nearly a year and absolutely love it. I wanted white but the missus wanted indium grey so guess what colour we got :).
Paul Newman 😀 It was a choice between those colours for me too but white was gonna be quicker and cheaper but the grey does look good! Thanks for the comments
Thinking of getting one myself. Is there plenty of power in the diesel engine? Not sure whether to get petrol or diesel and i would prefer a manual gearbox
Hey Bish - digging the videos. Thinking about getting an R Line and your videos have been a great help in my decision making process, so thanks. A couple of small questions - did you go for any options on yours, if so which ones, and are there any that you wouldn't bother with if you did it again. And the other side of that coin, are there any that you wouldn't be without. Also are there any you wish you'd gone for but didn't? One other thing - I noticed that your exhausts are both on the left, and I had assumed that on the R Line they were either side and integral to the bodywork - is that just on the petrol models? I could probably find out, but while I'm here I thought I'd be lazy and just ask you! Thanks again
Simon J Hi, thanks for the comments. I had no options on mine at all. I don’t think the car, in R-line spec, needs for anything. The only thing I would have spec’d, especially at the moment, would be the heated windscreen. I really don’t think there’s any need for the adaptive dampers, maybe at a push the automated tailgate if you can stretch to the cost but for me I couldn’t justify the extra expense. Another video is coming this week.
Just had mine delivered. One question, can you have a single list of radio favourites to include both fm AND dab stations as opposed to having separate favourite menus for those two? My previous BMW allowed me to have one single, list and its miles easier. Thanks in advance of any advice mate
I have the same question, what size did you specifically order? I enjoy your videos, I got the boot liner you suggested, it's great. Only oddity I've found so far is that it doesn't resume in E mode (noted on TFT display) you have to select Economy each time you restart .
I bought 1.5 metre x 30cm, there was more than enough to do the boot lip, the door sills and I’ve also put a strip on the edge of the mirrors to stop me from scuffing them on the sides of my garage
No. It’s frustrating. However I’ve been driving it in normal mode and found it drives better and is just as economical, but I like the coasting function
Hi I would like to ask you how is the engine oil consumption ? Most Audi's have the higher oil consumption problem which is ridiculous.I like to buy this car but don't want to touch if the vw has the same issues?
that's good to know Thanks for the reply.I live in Melbourne Australia here all space high line with sound and vision pack and sunroof cost around A$68000(including R line) I'm tossing between an Audi q5 and this Q5 seats are very comfortable not a big fan of seats of Tiguan
Superb work, think this has swayed me over a A5 Sportback, couple of questions please, If you put it in sports mode does it stay in sports mode until changed? (Even if car is turned off) Do the wing mirrors close/open when kicked and open automatically on r line? Is keyless start on r line standard? Many Thanks
Steve Fowler The A5 coupe is a really pretty car though......but they are totally different beasts. The extra space and height is a nice selling point for the Tiguan. If you put the car in Sports mode it will switch back to eco mode when you switch the ignition off but it’s no biggy to knock it back into sports mode. On the R-line I can confirm the mirrors swing in and out when you lock and unlock the car, and I don’t think keyless start is standard on any trim level, it’s a cost option. Hope this helps ;0)
@@kaieshabish22 I’m considering one. I’ve got an A3 at the moment but always had VWs before. Sciroccos and Golfs. Just like you I just like how VW do things so I’m considering either a MK7.5 Golf GTI or a Tiguan. If you like it and there’s nothing wrong with it..keep it.
@@jonnyfez Oooo! GTi though? They’re not long for this world are they? It will be an ID.3 GTi and that doesn’t not have the same kind of emotion as a four pot turbo. :0(
@@kaieshabish22 that’s right. I’d like to have another performance golf before everything is electric. Had a Golf MK7 R DSG. Was great. Have never had a GTI. As you say, might have limited chance. I like the Tiguan though. Never had an SUV. Really like the look of the Rline. Decision decisions. Probably need to test drive both,
@@jonnyfez I love the driving position, it outweighs the performance for me, (I have a Triumph for speed kicks) but I miss the power everyone and again. Maybe try and find a 180bhp Tiguan. It’s a rare thing though in R-line trim
Great video mate ive just ordered the rline tec 4motion 2019 that boot mat you put the link for does that fit the 4x4 as the company are saying it doesn’t fit its only for the 2x4 I thought it was all the same boot space im confused please help me help much appreciated 👍 both models are saying 615 litres boot space
Tony Clarke Thanks, all I can say is I have the 4x4 4motion model and the matt fits. I don’t think there’s a difference in the boot design between the two and four wheel drive, but in my model if you have the boot floor in the lowest setting the matt doesn’t fit correctly, but I keep it in the raised setting anyway. Good luck with the new car

Over the past three years I’ve got an average of 44mpg, it will easily do 50mpg on a long run if you right foot is as light as mine, drive it hard and I guess you’re looking at high 30’s. I really can’t complain for such a big vehicle
It's a residual engine temperature button. I've gotta be honest it's pretty much useless. If you stop and switch the engine off obviously the heater stops too, if you press the rest button the car transfers the residual heat from the engine into the car without having the heater running, but it is not the most effective and tends to run out of puff fairly quickly. Hope that helps
Do you know of any mud flaps for a 2018 Tiguan R Line with running boards? By the way...thanks for all of your videos...you helped me buy a white on white.
wonder if they'd insure me on this as a 17 year old in a couple years LOL loved the advert that they did for it! better than that Zafira GSI/VXR one (if anyone here can remember it)
Hi mate, what length carbon strip did you order from the eBay link you’ve posted? Cars being delivered Friday so hoping to have it here before then, cheers pal
Here_comes _the I ordered a 1.5 metre x 30 cm, more than enough for the bumper twice and all four doors and the edges of the wing mirrors (because it’s a tight fit through the garage door) and enough left over for a couple of mistakes, link is in the description. Good luck!

Thanks, probably the best Tiguan review I've seen. Getting a Black R line 2wd manual diesel next week. Going from having Qashqais for 5-6 years, expecting a jump up in quality from Nissan to VW. Going to be towing with it too. 👍
leswatson40 Nice one, happy new car, new vids coming soon on the info-tainment
Av now got my 2018 front wheel drive. Black tiguan R Line manual.
Awesome spec and car. Comfy... even on 20's.
leswatson40 how long did you have to wait? I’m ordering a white r line 2wd manual diesel and vw are quoting me 7month wait!
just bought an rline 68, many thanks for taking the time to produce your vids!
I have just got one of these in Grey and I love it
The best video I have watched regarding the Tiguan.
I have been debating what car to get and this has made my mind up to go for it. Very informative, thank you.
Justin Rouse Thanks for the comments, it’s a great car, still happy with it 18 months in 👍
Great video, bought one myself in 2018 after seeing this video convinced me!
Enjoy!
Excelent review ! I just bought my T roc r line in white color as well ! This car is a dream to drive and to own ! Safe trips on your lovely Tiguan !
Would just like to say great video keep it up , just collecting my R-Line next week being an Ex Demo from VW with 3000miles on clock in the best colour Atlantic Blue with a couple of extras being Leather Seats and Keyless Tailgate and Door , can’t wait
Andy Woodhouse Excellent news, thanks for the support
@@kaieshabish22 does the Rline Tiguan come in higher BHP than 148. Great video by the way. Trading my 2006 trusty passat in for one very soon.
From Spain. Great review. Very helpful videos. Please keep going! I’m ordering mine next week.
Gracias, me encanta el coche, debe cambiarlo ahora. gracias por tu comentario
Great review, i have ordered mine, 3 months for the build. Already got 2015 R line, but like the look of the new one. Just got to wait.....
j bh That wait is gonna take forever
Tell me about it, the more i read and see, the more i want it now......
I have just ordered an SEL 4motion DSG with the 190BHP diesel, I have gone for silver as my last two cars were white so fancied a change.
Ian Miller Nice
Feel like mood lighting would complete this car
Parris Allen Agreed
Do u still own it? Is it reliable?
Very nice... like the added badge u put on the back. Red is nice.. cant find that 1 just the normal badge... very well put video
eBay purchase. However, that was a while ago and the red came unstuck and fell off and the badge looked rubbish after so I took it off and never bothered putting it back on.
Many thanks great video. Gave me an overview. Just awaiting delivery of same model. Never had a VW, but, have friends who swear by them.
Kevin Shepherd You’ll live it, thanks for the support, let me know how you’re getting on with it
Thanks for not putting stupid dubstep music over this in the intro
😄
Great informative video, thank you for your time and effort it has really helped me.
I get my SEL begining of next year, i cant wait.
Just subscribed.
Anthony Cross Cheers, thanks for the support
This video made my parents buy a tiguan!
Max T Hi, the rear head rests are just the regular button at the bottom of the metal stanchions.
Not sure if I'd have this or a Peugeot 3008 Gt Line Premium. Only thing that puts me of Vw is there customer service is terrible.
Yeah I gotta agree with you there. The customer service in the UK I've had from them has been pretty shocking. Doesn't live up to the name at all.
Get one, you won’t regret it
Thanks for taking the time to reply so quickly, it’s much appreciated. I’ll let you know if we decide to go for it.
Nice detailed video. Really enjoyed that. Subscribed.
Hey there... what’s the state of ownership 6 months in? Still liking the Tiguan? Faults? Wish you had? Upgrades/Changes you’ve made to Tiguan since last review? Cheers

Good video- about to order the r line- got me thinking about the colour though, white looks good and it’s a standard option...
Don’t know if I said but even though white was the free option it cost more money through my lease! All to with residual value at the end of the lease, allegedly worth less in white! What a load of nonsense!
Forgot to ask, the RLine comes with remote tailgate release as standard. Does that mean you can open the boot with the key?
Thanks again 👍
Steve Fowler I think that may be a misprint , I read that too on their website (unless they’ve added it to the spec in the last four months) If you are referring to the UK car it doesn’t come with the automatic boot lid, i.e. the boot will not rise up on motors, that is a paid option. You can pop the boot on the key but it just releases the boot lock, it won’t lift.
What are the chances of an indepth video of the gearbox
jimmy mcgregor Well, to be honest, and with all due respect, it won’t make the most interesting of vids, the gearbox just kinda works. I’ve got an update video planned for the new year where I’ll talk about it. Thanks for the support
Hi , do you have a template for the vinyl cut outs you applied. The wife's got a computerised vinyl cutter.
stephen piskor I’m afraid not, I used my own ingenuity and made some templates out of thick lining paper first.
@@kaieshabish22 Yeah that what we plan on doing. Well... My Mrs is the expert in that department :)
Beautiful car mate!
great vid - very professional. cheers mate
On the verge of Vani11a Thanks
All’t best.
Very helpful vid. Can you do one covering more detail on 4motion and the different modes ie. snow and how that effects the driving
Marc Rider I’m in the process of doing one, but work commitments have got in the way. Hopefully have uploaded before Wednesday. Thanks for your support
Hey. Great video. Where did you get your boot mat from ? We’re picking up ours next week. What dvd kit you got for the kids in the back ?
Thanks, the boot mat was from Travall and the DVD’s were Next base 9”. They were great, the car is long gone now. Good luck with the new car
I agree great to watch.especially when you have a white one.i love mine
Truck Talk Videos Cheers
Yes, I still love the white, even though there’s a few on the roads now but the tungsten grey looks good too
Mate just a quick question, when you have driven somewhere and turn your ignition off do your interior lights come on ?
When you take the key out of the ignition if I remember correctly. I no longer own the car.
Did you order strips of the Carbon fibre vinyl or a large piece and then cut it to size? Yours look so neat.
I have the 150ps and its well good you don't really need anymore power as it does what you need it to do very well
I think he said 200 Diesel
Beautiful car. Does anyone know the maximum towing capacity on this vehicle please????
Great videos. Just ordered an R Line spec and arrive in 2 weeks. Keen to see an infotainment review but can’t spot it. Can you link it please?
Sorry, I never had the time to make it I’m afraid. Hope you fathomed everything out
is the sunroof on all the rline models, i am looking at the 2017 model and would appear to be just a fixed panoramic roof?
Yes, all UK R-line and SEL models came with openable pan roof up to the recent facelift, they are now no longer standard
how is it holding up so far?
It was a cracking car, had it for four years but it went to a new home two years ago. The only issue I had was the engine battery started to fail near the end and a replacement was about £300, luckily it went just before it fully gave up and so I swerved that cost. I swapped it for a phev Cupra Formentor and although I love the Cupra I really miss the toys on the Tiguan, the high seating position, the pan roof and the matrix headlights. So much so I’m looking to replace the Cupra with another Tiguan. Hope this helps
Great video really helped me understand my new Tiguan.

Any issues with the sunroof leaking?
Hi, no, not in the four years I owed it. I sent it back two years ago now and although I love my new car I do miss the Tiguan
So I know you made a point of mentioning the ride quality on 20 inch alloys but just to be sure......Whats it like on the motorway at full speed? Not too much tyre roar? I've got a Octavia VRS at the moment and ride is a bit jittery at times so don't want to change for something worse. Thanks.
Chris Robinson It’s fine. Very nice cruiser. There is noise but it’s not overly intrusive and it wouldn’t put me off buying the car

Paul Newman 😀 It was a choice between those colours for me too but white was gonna be quicker and cheaper but the grey does look good! Thanks for the comments
Excellent videos! 👍👍. Is your Tiguan the 190ps?
Paul Anthony No, the 150hp, it’s a bit under powered for overtakes but for normal driving it’s ok and 44mpg
Kris Convery No I’m afraid not, you have to select FM or DAB and then save them in each option, they can’t be mixed.
Something about the R Line with VW . To this day VW Golf holds up as the daddy
Hi, thanks for the excellent review.
I am wondering, what white color is your car? Is it Pure White or Oryx Mother of Pearl White?
Thanks
Mosa Al Marzouq Hi, thanks for the support. My car is pure white, but the oryx white does look good too.
How easy is the carbon strip to fit? How much in length did you order? Are you able to remove?
Good videos :)
Is there anyway i can get the Rline to default to eco, pisses me off having to set it for every journey
Saliya lanka I’ve done 7000 miles in the car so far and the engine oil doesn’t seem to have moved, I hope it continues this way
that's good to know Thanks for the reply.I live in Melbourne Australia here all space high line with sound and vision pack and sunroof cost around A$68000(including R line) I'm tossing between an Audi q5 and this Q5 seats are very comfortable not a big fan of seats of Tiguan
So far so good. 10,000 miles in and still hasn’t moved a bit
Superb work, think this has swayed me over a A5 Sportback, couple of questions please,
If you put it in sports mode does it stay in sports mode until changed? (Even if car is turned off)
Do the wing mirrors close/open when kicked and open automatically on r line?
Is keyless start on r line standard?
Many Thanks
Steve Fowler The A5 coupe is a really pretty car though......but they are totally different beasts. The extra space and height is a nice selling point for the Tiguan. If you put the car in Sports mode it will switch back to eco mode when you switch the ignition off but it’s no biggy to knock it back into sports mode.
On the R-line I can confirm the mirrors swing in and out when you lock and unlock the car, and I don’t think keyless start is standard on any trim level, it’s a cost option. Hope this helps ;0)
bishbashbosh.tv thankyou, I’m just about order one.
What’s the ride like on the 20 inch?
Is the 150bhp got good performance/economy?
Thanks
Great video 👍 guess you have moved in by now? How was it in the long term?
I’ve still got it. I love it still. Not sure where to go next because I’m not keen on the changes they’ve made to the new one

Johan v.d Merwe Hi, thanks for the comments, yes I still have it, I’ve owned it for just 1 year now. There will be an update video coming soon.

Hey, how is the fuel on this? I’m looking to get the same one
Over the past three years I’ve got an average of 44mpg, it will easily do 50mpg on a long run if you right foot is as light as mine, drive it hard and I guess you’re looking at high 30’s. I really can’t complain for such a big vehicle
What’s the “rest” button for next to the fan control? Does anyone know?
It's a residual engine temperature button. I've gotta be honest it's pretty much useless. If you stop and switch the engine off obviously the heater stops too, if you press the rest button the car transfers the residual heat from the engine into the car without having the heater running, but it is not the most effective and tends to run out of puff fairly quickly. Hope that helps

Good luck!
