I LOVE UHF. I own a copy and have bought copies for family. Have even brought a spatula for Weird Al to sign when I met him. I was on wheel of fish and I have lost on Jeopardy.

Honestly. This movie was wayyyyy ahead of its time. It was 15 years ahead of time. Crazy good---it was a gross-out comedy with slapstick humor prior to getting categorized. I still get tickled watching clips from it.

Cusack actually has a hell of a filmography. He's great as a leading man. He's great as a supportive character. And he's it range. He can be in any genre movie. Lately he's faded out a bit and is definitely not in as much demand. I really hope he can get back on the scene instead of these low budget films as of lately. Big things are happening in Hollywood and John still has so much to give. Ntm he can be in any movie and his resume proves so.

David Ogden Stiers! Aka Winchester from mash! It was great to see him play dad trying to be hip and connect with his son. Yes, everyone will be wearing one of these!

Better Off Dead is the one of my favorite 80s films it needed a remastered by some boutique labels like Shout! Or Kino by now it did got a Blu-ray like 10 years ago it needed a 4k Re-release now it's one of the most popular films of the 1980s i don't see any boutique labels releasing this if any of these boutiques releasing this cult classic on 4k and Blu-ray which will they be Joblo And i still want my two dollars for it.

I gotta say that Better of Dead and One Crazy Summer were both pretty fun and very funny 80s nostalgia and comedies. And The Sure Thing was very funny as well imo. Great 80s comedies, and nostalgia. Thinking back on it. This movie (Better of Dead). I can honestly say that I really couldn't picture anyone but Cusack in that role of Lane. On a side note, Curtis Armstrong as his best bud was very funny. Armstrong was a great side or supportive actor in the 80s who really stole the scenes he was in. I forgot if Better of Dead was a 1984 or 1985 release. However you could tell that he was nearly playing the same character as in Revenge of the Nerds, Bugar. It was like the director saw him in either one that came first and said to just do the same act. Minus the extreme raunchy crudeness of Revenge of the Nerds. As he was much more raunchy in that film. And he hadn't dying thu that whole movie!

I remember our treasured copy. We didn’t even keep it at home for fear our folks would steal it. That film went straight to our best friend’s house up the road, who became mildly amused with our feature choices.

My mom was a teen when Better Off dead came out and I think she quite enjoyed it.

My question to everyone is... What does everyone think John Cusack's best film. Or what is your personal favorite movie with Cusack in it. For m it's a very hard choice. I will say that Identity is definitely up there. Solidifying the fact that Cusack has great range, is a great actor. And the guy can be put in any genre and come out on top. I recently watched Hot Tub Time Machine. I know it's a 2010 film, but last week I viewed it for the first time. And I gotta say that Cusack was great. And it's another one of my favorite movies with Cusack. Grosse Point Blank as well, which he wrote and directed.

80s and 90s were pretty similar when it comes to culture, technology and entertainment. Movies and tv shows of that era have a completely different vibe, look and perspective. The outlook on life was what makes movies and tv shows so free flowing and daring. No woke agendas, feminism or racist bullshit. Just fun.

Don't mean to be a dick but Cusack did not have a good experience with the director. Maybe behind the scenes. But Cusack really didn't like the script. He thought it was pretty stupid. And at the screening Cusack walked out of it. He was completely upset and thought his career was completely ruined after that film. So no Cusack didn't do One Crazy Summer because he had a great experience with Better off Dead. I believe he had to complete his obligation he may have made. Not fully sure. But Cusack was extremely upset with Better off Dead.

Yeah Holland said Cusack was very difficult to work with on One Crazy Summer. He just did it get Better Off Dead at all.

That's as may be, but the fact that an actor doesn't like a movie they were in doesn't affect my enjoyment of it one bit.
