"Couldn't throw faster than 88." I'm far more impressed by this stat than you were underwhelmed. That's downright amazing for a actor.
88 mph is pretty damn good all around.
@@thechairman74 Get yourself a flux capacitor and it's enough for time travel.
@@clintholmes2061 Yeah you're gonna see some serious sh!t.
Yeah an 88 mph fastball would make anyone not a pro player nearly shit themselves as it comes at you.
Exactly on flip side Snipes couldn't throw to save his life. Thats why there's no scenes of him throwing
"You can't say God damn on air"
"The hell with, no one is listening anyway"
"This guy's dead!"
"Cross him off, then."
🤣
Still the best baseball ⚾ movie ever !! ..
It is, a lot of baseball movies fawn over the sport.
The best indeed. Love the ending, done so well. Excellent sports and comedy flick.
Kevin Costner would agree to disagree.... but who cares? 🤣 Yes, it is a great movie and 35 years later, it is still a pleasure for me to watch clips of that movie on UA-cam.
im gonna have to go with The Sandlot as best Baseball movie, best MLB Movie tho, yup!
Bull Durham was better, but this one is still great.
"Ball 4 ball 8 and Vaughn has walked the bases loaded"
How can these guys lay off pitches that close? 😄
tried the corner and missed
So many unique characters that are easy to love and latch onto in this movie. It almost seems impossible but that's why it is a comedy/baseball movie masterpiece.
Controversial Opinion. I love Major League. But i actually like 2nd one a bit better. The storyline of Vaughn trying to improve himself. Parkman. And Bob uekers ones liners are absolutely amazing. "Dynamite drop in Monty. Broadcast school is really paying off." Went to go see his movie but it was only out for 2.5 hrs." He had me cracking up the whole time. Plus him being drunk. Finally not a huge fan of Renee Russo. 🤷♂️
@@LivingSanFranciscoBayAreaI like Major League 2 also. Idk why it gets SUCH a bad rap.
Love major League. It's literally in my opinion one of the top 10 to 5 sports movies of all time. The story was fantastic. The cast was awesome. I think this movie was really ahead of its time given what we know now about how franchises are run grade A may be my favorite Charlie Sheen movie
This and Tin Cup are some of my favorite sports movies… both include Rene Russo.
Major League is peak Rene Russo. She’s straight fire in this movie!
One of the best movies of Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen & Wesley Snipes
I literally tired to explain this movie to a friend two days ago, who didn't know it.
This movie is epic, an Hollywood true original sport movie!!
Yeah, Cleveland guardians ugh
This movie is awesome ❤
Charlie Sheen flying girl after girl in, going out partying with the cast. Then putting in a solid performance despite it all. “ Winning!!!!!!”
Can you imagine all the suitcases of cocaine that they flew in with😮
@@ParisLawLessI’m sure it was a “Scarface” level amount! Sheen has one speed, “Go!”
Major league and Major league 2 are two of my favorite sports comedies/movies is general.
Major Leauge one I agree with, but idk about 2 man. That was a huge disappointment!
2 was awful
My favorite baseball and sports movie. Just entertaining as hell with great characters all around.
The one good thing about Major League II is when Lou Brown is jumping on the bed and yells, "I love this British sh&t!! I might just move to England!"
That was good.
i miss the indians
They will be back. When it's profitable.
As a life long die hard Cleveland Indians fan 👍 this movie seemed like a real life documentary about the Indians and this movie is still one of my all time favorites and it always will be!!!!!
I remember watching this as a 4th grader late night in a small town theater. It was awesome. My friends mom had to buy herself a ticket, and then she left us
One of my all time favorites
"F you jooboo" always cracks me up
I do it myself.
You tryin to tell me Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?!?
Went to Brewer games at county stadium back in the day. The empty section in the center field bleachers was so the batter could see the pitches, not because attendance was low.
They did the same thing when the San Diego Padres were playing at Jack Murphy Stadium...
Every stadium has a "batters eye" so no one is sitting in center field
You can't cuss on the air. Nobody is listening 🤣
I wasn't even interested in baseball, but the commercials looked so cool I wanted to see it. I didn't think I'd get to, but I neighbor had it on during a party and I lucked out! Surprised there was never a cartoon of it, in the way they made Police Academy and Beetlejuice.
>Have to wake up bat!
OR
>You're trying to say Jesus Christ couldn't hit a curveball??
Those lines will never not make me laugh even just by remembering the scenes in my head.
Hey bartender! Jobu needs a refill!
If I remember correctly, Johnathan Papelbon (closer for the Red Sox) entrance song was “Wild Thing.” He even cut his hair with the same Mohawk Sheen had because of a lost bet.
We wear caps and sleeves at this level, son
We hear you're a pitcher you ain't much of a dresser.
Look at this fuckin' guy.
I don't think Primetime got the message. Thus his team changing their official jersey too sleeveless.
And all of that being in tribute to Jackie Robinson
One of the best. Part 2 isn't bad.
The first one was an A+. I'd give the second one a B+.
@@iqbalshabazz586 sounds right. For a sequel it could have been way worse.
Damn this movie just rocks. Never gets old.
Love this movie! One of my all time favorites.
Mr. Baseball & For Love of the Game are still my 2 favs :)
For love of the game is great.
Dude Mr baseball is the most underrated baseball movie in my opinion. For me too I put it as my top spot
I love Major League and Major League II. I'm not going to apologize for it.
No reason to apologize for loving Major League. If you get enjoyment out of watching Major League II great, but it was a huge disappointment for me. Nothing original, just change the original's dynamic of going from losers to winners to going from winners to losers and back to winners. The new characters added nothing.
@@carseye1219MLII wasn't as good as the first one, but still had some great lines.
"Mine fell harder."
"Mine are the deadest!"
Randy Quaid is hilarious. And I laugh at pretty much everything Rube says.
@@toddgaak422 Glad you liked it. I probably over expected.
Major League II was a solid B. I did like the sophomore slump angle for Wild Thing and Willie wanted to be a power hitter. Longball sluggers get paid in the show. It was nice seeing Rube overcome his issue like Mackey Sasser. Randy Quaid as a lunatic was funny and goofy.
@@toddgaak422 YOU CAN ADD 42 homers to our lineup. ALL THE WAY! ALL THE WAY!
Not saying it’s as good as the original, but Major League 2 is severely underrated.
Fantastic "Lost" film. Lost because I'll be damned if I can find it anywhere - Streaming or Physical outside the USA.
Best baseball movie, the cast was perfect, and the ending was so satisfying
In the baseball movie , "the final season" mike Boddicker at his age of the time of filming , threw fastballs for the audio guys to put in the movie
I was at Camden Yards the night they filmed the "entrance" of Ricky Vaughn for ML2. Pretty cool, but it was just crowd shots with plants holding signs. No Charlie Sheen.
The Awesomeness Continues! ✊😎👊FANTASTIC Channel! 👌😊
Awesome Comedy Movie Masterpeace! 😆👍🍁♈
I saw this and Bull Durham around the same time, love them both but this one’s my favorite
One of my favorite baseball movies.
Classic movie greatness
“Are you saying Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?!?” 😂
What do you mean what happened to this film? It’s loved.
Jusssssst a bit outside.
That was the first thing that came to Bob Uecker when he saw the scene.
Joblo on Jobu
The movie was remade and recast. It is called the Oakland Athletics
Up there with Slapshot and Goon for me for all time sports classics.
“You trying to say Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?”
The funniest line in the movie...when they call their coach at his job..how would you like to coach the Indians...I dunno lmfao
The sequel was filmed in Baltimore ,& there's even scenes of the inner harbor and downtown , I can see using Camden Yards but damn
An absolute classic!
the second movie was absolutely a step down, and a lot of the problems could (in hindsight) have easily been fixed (if Snipes doesn't want to come back, just trade Hayes to the Cubs or whoever before you start filming, duh) but I still enjoy it... a lot of what worked in the first movie still works, and the actor they brought in as the hayseed rookie catcher just kills me
Greatest sports comedy of all time and it’s not close
Man, I really wanted Sheen to throw the first pitch. What a wasted opportunity.
Shows footage of Tucson, AZ scenes while talking about shots in Milwaukee instead of Cleavland.
That movie was just perfect, and the Cleveland Indians become a power house few years later!!
Mitch Williams can call a ball game. Loved him on ESPN
Maybe I'm just a Scott Bakula fan but I enjoyed the Back to the Minors movie.
This one still holds up.
the center field bleachers are suppose to be empty because its the batters eye. if there are people there its harder to see the ball.
I'm not a baseball fan at all. But major league might be my all time favorite movie
Major League is in my top five baseball movies, #1 being The Sandlot
This is a sports movie classic!
Still angry you can't buy this on UK streaming. Love this film
I remember when Indians had to play an early season game under Milwaukee’s dome because of snow in Cleveland, they had a WILDTHING Rick Vaughn bobblehead giveaway that game.
|A friend of mine was actually an extra at Milwaukee County Stadium
people are always happy to help or participate in filming -- even the student films i helped with 20 years ago.
as long as you feed them. that's it, that's all you need to do.
Regarding Major League: Back to the Minors, I find it as a slight, but kinda fun movie to watch. It makes good use of Scott Bakula's charm to motivate a cliche, but fun, underdog story. Obviously done with a shoestring budget, it punches slightly above its very modest expectations. But I will concede that it is a sequel by a thread - it's better described as a movie that takes place in the Major League universe, as the genre film fans would say. And Ted McGinley, workman actor, plays a fun, if absurd, villain. AND, it has a pre-fame Walton Goggins!
7:36 it is empty in CF because that is the batters eye. That is so the batters can see the ball and not get it lost in the fans.
The Cleveland baseball team, will suffer the wrath of WAHOO. until they bring back the chief, and bring back the name, they shall never win a World Series!
The Indians went 73 years without winning a World Series. The Guardians are at 2. Which name is cursed?
@@TheDom822 They would’ve won in 2016, had they not Banished the Chief!
5:23 did you say Clue Hayward??
I went to high school with a girl who was in the crowd during the last game, and is actually on the screen for a brief time during the Wild Thing entry. She was going to college in Milwaukee.
Hard to believe that Mrs. Roger Dorn (who was hot as fcuk) only had 1 or 2 other small roles in her career, and then was finished acting.
Major League 2 AND Back To The Minors were both entertaining funny sequels....
" ARE YOU SAYING JESUS CHRIST CANT HIT A CURVEBALL!?"
Cleveland got screwed back during the strike....they had a killer team that year with Orel and Bell and Thome and etc.
I remember taking my high school girlfriend to see this in the theater, and we both laughed our asses off. We ended up losing our virginities later that night, so I always remember this flick fondly!
Jokes on you. She pulled a "Basketball-American" train earlier in the week.
Nah, that came later on in the relationship. Don't tempt me with a good time lol @@michaelreich4827
The thumbnail is from major league 2
Personally I like the alternative (almost) ending better. After all, she developed Moneyball before Billy Beane.
The greatest baseball movie ever made. Yeah better than field of dreams and a league of their own too 😅. And bring back the name “Indians” 😡😡
I agree. And the definitely need a better name than Guardians 😝
I enjoyed "Back To The Minors" but I never thought of it as a sequel. It seemed more like a pilot for a TV series.
Tom Berenger and Charlie Sheen together again. Just like Platoon.
This film rules and the final scene/ at bat to close the film gives me tears everytime. Humor AND heart. I love it!
They have alot of extras who are only in the background and dont get any lines to fill out the rest of the roster on the team.
They will always be the Indians to me never the Guardians
They should remake this movie with the Pirates
my favorite baseball movie. i even enjoyed the sequel. (not the third one, though. it was a fun addition, but i consider that a spinoff.)
2 was pretty decent honestly
"You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"
Most MLB players say this is really how accurate they act on and off the field.
Quotable of the decade? It’s still quotable in 2024
Not only did Bob Uecker not start his career with the Milwaukee Brewers, his entire playing career was before they even existed (he got his start with the Milwaukee Braves).
Another great comedy that would never get made today because 5 people met get offended on Twitter.
The Dream Team was actually a pretty good comedy as well. Interesting that it opened the same week.
It's amazing that for such a good movie, they couldn't do a proper follow up.
No one is a Cleveland Guardians fan. Especially fans of the former Indians.
I kinda want to see the version where she secretly wanted them to win
One of the best baseball movies. I still say “Jobu needs a refill” 😂😂
Rachel Phelps beat Billy Bean to Sabermerics (in the alternate ending)
Very entertaining movie. This and the replacements with Keanu Reeves are some of the best sports movies of all time
13:41 charlie is a big Reds fan
