Kinetix Intake Manifold Install; Making Your Butt Dyno Happy!

  • Hey guys, so the grey Z passed smog so we put the kinetix manifold back on with the bigger throttle body. You will need to clear the engine codes that pop up which should be c1131 and p2135. The kinetix website says 30.5 horsepower gain but i doubt it is that much. My butt dyno can tell a difference though. If you enjoy the video, like and subscribe. Enjoy!

      Problem is everyone needs to respect(stay away) from something that can kill them with little effort. Drivers are responsible but what happens when they dont pay attention like they usually do? 2 wrongs dont make a right but the difference here is one idiot sustains heavy injuries possibly death while the other idiot faces the law.

    That +30 whp gain Kinetix Racing posted on their site was from a 2003 350z non rev-up engine with the rev limiter raised from 6,700 to 7,100 RPM. With the stock plenum, it made 231 whp at 6,100, but lost about 30 hp from 6,200 to 7,000 rpm. With the Kinetix Velocity Intake, the Z made over 240 whp from 6,200 to 7,000 Rpm. That test was done with no other intake or exhaust upgrades to the car. The Velocity Intake is designed for horsepower gains in the higher rpm range. I have the same Intake Manifold on my 350z and I notice the gains with the Intake Manifold along with other bolt on hp mods. My Z is tuned with the rev limiter raised to 7,100 RPM. It comes down to who is tuning the 350z with that Intake.

    5mm larger tb is not worth $300 for the little gains you’re going to get from that. If it were an 85-90mm tb I’d say yes. My guess is you couldn’t tell a single difference in power from the stock 70mm to the 75mm.

    hey there.. nice video , I am very interested in getting the kinetix manifold also for my car so just a question , do you have to do a dyno after the install or not, it is like mandatory ???
    can I go without bringing my car to do a dyno ???? thanks in advance

    • @drtwofingers
      @drtwofingers 2 роки тому

      its highly advised to get a tune after installation. but like the comment section has been saying, this manifold is amazing with other complimentary mods and boost (either turbo or supercharged). if you're looking for a solid performance gain, stick with the stock plenum and get the motordyne plenum spacer, easy install, easy on the pocket book and dont need to tune afterwards. also you don't necessarily have to put your car on a dyno to get a tune, but if you can afford it and know a shop that specializes in the VQ motors it would be preferred

The key to take advantage of the gains with this intake is having the 350z or G35 tuned with a higher rev limit to 7,200 rpms. BRO, DO THEY MAKE FOR A 350Z HR ENGINE?

  • @Subninja2012
    @Subninja2012 4 роки тому

    I had it and it hurt the whole powerband. I think you mean “making your eye dyno happy.”

    • @Speeder105
      @Speeder105 3 роки тому

      With this intake, it's designed to give the better past 5500 rpms. This is different than running a spacer with the non rev plenum on a 350z.

      I just bought a Z with my lady, I made her learn stick rather than opting for a sub-class handicapped automatic. It was fun getting to teach her regardless. She definitely enjoys it more as well.

      @ahumm8280 6 років тому

      It looks really fancy but if you observe real performance (see jegs and summit racing) intakes take notice to how each port's lenght is contoured for maximum flow. This looks like the front cylinders are last to eat!

    • @PressinPickle
      @PressinPickle 5 років тому

      Ah Umm stock the front cylinders have nearly 30% less room than the back 3

      michael tu papi because you need to tune the car, you’re not going to gain any HP from any car mod without a tune.

    Do you need the big bore 70mm throttle body to work with the Kinetix Velocity Intake Manifold or can you use the OEM one? With the installation of the Kinetix Velocity Manifold will this cause an issue getting an inspection?

    You had wasted your money on that intake manifold you do not really get no horsepower gains at all it's only for looks my boy had it on his car we got a dyno test we didn't see no results on the intake manifold waste of $2,000 or $800 whatever he pay for it
