  • I said LCD and LED a couple times but the 86” TV is most definitely a LED.
    Also, the brightness of the OLED washed out in the image comparison, which I was expecting.
    Pay attention to the helmet image, that gives you a good representation of image quality, especially the black portions.

    The oled looks richer and brighter. The 85 picture has a white haze to it. Good choice on going for the 65, I would go for quality too. Great comparison video. Looks like you got a good work out too. Lol

    the contrast on an OLED TV is just so freaking good. watching the gray blob on the LCD drives me nuts. For auxiliary TV's LCD is fine but for the main TV in the house it will be hard for me to shift away from OLED.

      Now that I’ve sold the 86” TV and I have had a couple days back with my C9, I definitely know I made the right choice.
      The problem is, that I now want a 77” OLED. It never ends. Haha
      Thanks for stopping by, Ken!

    I replaced my 65 LG oled with a 77” Sony Oled. The LG is now in my garage with my old theater set up. I wanted an 83” oled but could not justify spending an additional $2,300 to gain 6” of screen.

    should I buy 50" or 43"??

    The 86 is direct lit, not edge lit. For me, OLED is great tech, but for my HT, size and value was the winner. The LED was 10" larger and half price of the OLED. Movies look great! Thanks for reviewing.

    I always choose size instead of quality , I put more emphases in my Home Theater audio department , my current TV is a Sony Bravia 4k 85 inches and looks good. Led technology is way better today than before specially the Micro led tv and the other new technologies . Oled still expensive specially for the bigger size and there are not so bright as Micro Led Tv are

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  Рік тому

      Definitely can understand that! I love my OLED and I’ll eventually upgrade to a 77” but they are quite expensive.
      LED technology has come a looong way, especially the last 3 or so years.
      Having that 85” huge TV in my living room was quite fun, that’s for sure!

    Was it just my phone or was the OLED TV completely washed out? Details were gone just saw white on most of the screen. 85" looked way better!

    • @blazermdx

      Yeah, I’m not happy with the way the OLED video demo turned out:/
      The dynamics of the OLED panel were just too much for my poor iPhone camera. In fact, I just went camera shopping about 30 minutes ago, so I can provide higher quality videos.
      I was pretty bummed when I say how the demo portions turned out. I almost deleted the video but figured someone out there might still find it helpful.
      I can assure you, the OLED wasn’t washed out or anything. Just poor recording equipment. Haha

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  3 роки тому +1

      I was close to making that same choice myself, so I definitely don’t fault you for it.
      Ultimately, I think the face that I sit around 7’ from my TV, I decided to go with the best picture quality.
      I totally understand people going for a larger TV, if their viewing distance is more than 10’ or so.
      Thanks for the reply, my friend!

    Hi Dustin. Would a Pioneer elite vsx-504 receiver work well with the Polk lsim703s or the new Polk Reserve r 200s? I can't go emotiva Pt-100 and amplifiers because the emotiva has a handshake problem with the optical out on Samsung tvs. So I can't do a home theater system with it and thought about the Pioneer elite vsx-504.

  • @antoniohernandez6590
    @antoniohernandez6590 3 роки тому

    Have a 65'' DLP and thinking about a newer one but it sucks they don't have decent 70'' TVs, 75 seems a bit too big. Should have compared a Sony or something, non oled LG aren't that great.

    Thanks so much for this video! I am thinking of buying a new T.V. to replace my 10 year old plasma Panasonic 50". Not sure what size to buy. My room is about the same size as yours and I think a 65" would more than be enough for me!

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  3 роки тому +1

      Growing from a 50” to a 65” is a big step up so if you’ve been pleased with your current set, I’m sure you’ll love the extra screen dimensions.
      I will warn you, plasma is highly underrated so I would think about going OLED, if you want the extra size and not lose PQ.
      This video didn’t turn out as good as I wanted but moving these big TV’s around by myself took a bit out of me.
      Anyway, on to the next video, my friend!

    really good video idea, but you cant really record a tv to an extend that you could judge its looks, especially if you are still using your phone to record, a lot of bright, overexposed spots, and also the same with darker spots. but still a good idea, only the recording is kinda useless unless you have something as high end as a red camera or an arri alexa

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  3 роки тому +3

      When I watched the video, I wasn’t happy with the way it turned out on my phone. I decided to post is anyway but I might delete it down the road.
      I agree, I need to invest in a higher end camera, vs. using my phone. But this channel is starting to cost me more money than I’d like.
      Maybe I’ll use the money from selling this 86” TV, to pick up a nice camera..
      Thanks for the feedback, my friend!

      You might be surprised at what you can find in your local pawn shops and thrift stores.
      They had just put this beast out, when I got there. I just couldn’t resist trying out a TV this large in my place, so I pounced.
      Now that I have had some more research time with my OLED again, I’m definitely happy that I decided to keep it.
      The dynamic range of an OLED panel is just something to behold:)
