Sometimes, it's just nice to watch a more "real world use" video. It's not overly long with endless rambling about overly technical specs. You simply show and tell us about the unboxing process, what it's like to watch and play on the TV, and how it makes you feel. Great video.
Haha I remember doing something similar. I went from 32 inch to 42inch and being like wow its big, then I got my first 4k tv which was a 49inch samsung and it was a nice size at the time. Then I went crazy and a few years later I got a 75inch samsung q9fn and it was a display unit, it was Huge and beautiful lol and my room wasn't honestly big enough so I ended up going to a 65 inch lg c9 oled and it's been a great display not as bright as the q9fn but still great both have strengths and weaknesses, anyway now I kind of want a 77inch lg g1 because I'm sitting pretty far away right now from my TV lol
We have the 85" X900H and honestly we love it. NOTHING like a massive screen to make movies more immersive. For games, wow, not gonna lie it actually adds to the feeling of light motion sickness in some 3D games, especially at higher framerates, but for more cinematic games at 30 fps or games with more static backgrounds like fighting games, it's amazing.

Wow. Thanks for this video. I’ve been debating on the size of tv to get for an apartment but was worried about going too big, and this REALLY helped! Gaming and movie perspectives are much appreciated! Thanks! This was helpful!
Nice, i got a 65" of the same model coming in a few days, wanted bigger but my room wont support, still will be a massive upgrade over the 40" i have been dealing with for the last 8 years.
Oh same !! I just got a 65" after living with a 40" for a decade Kinda wondering if I should've gone with a lower-tier 75" tho, but alot of ppl said quality > size
I was going to comment "I have you beat, my apartment is smaller". Then at the 2 second mark I realized your place is literally the same size as mine. It's awesome to watch movies on a big screen from that close though. Enjoy and congrats 😁
Isn't the 950 is the greatest? When you go as big as you have, you definitely want the best 4K upscaling in the business and the 950's X1 ultimate processer is it! You must be on cloud nine with your Switch upscaled to 4K like that!
going to a movie theatre and watching a large screen from the back of the theatre makes even less sense because you are paying to do it. actually sitting 8 feet from a 85 inch TV if set at the right height is not over bearing once you install it after a week take it away and put a 75 inch in its place and see how you feel. I guarantee you will be wishing you had kept the 85.
I mean, I think its okay to be "a bit close", because then it feels even larger. I have roughly the same distans as you, using a projector getting around 100", and I gotta say I got used to it pretty fast and now I want more 🤣 TV is always better tho, congrats! 😄
After using monitors for so long I can’t sit down and watch tvs anymore because the screen feels so small, this 85 inch tv might recreate the feeling of a monitor
I went with the 75” 900H over the 950 due to the game mode, and having a 75” tv with a 7ms refresh rate at 120hz. It’s a better tv for gaming, and having set up for Dolby Vision in a Dolby Atmos home theater, makes movies seem better than in the theater.
Dolby vision and dolby atmos on a big ass quality tv and sound system is 1000x better than the theater. I love it so much when I find a good movie that has the current full dolby support.
Can you please put the description for the tv table? Thank you I’m planing maybe buy it online since the closes ikea it’s a 2 hours from my house. Thank you again
My husband and I want a huge TV for gaming and we just bought a massive pit-like couch, so we'll have some distance between us and the wall. 85 inches is SO tempting!
It's weird that now a 85 inch has become more normalized. Now a 100 inch plus is a big screen. 85 is still Extra large but it's more common now. But now a 65 inch is concidered a normal living room tv and even on the smaller side. I dont remember 65 inch tvs looking as small as they do to me now. You get used to a 100 inch tv and even it doesn't blow you away anymore. I have a 100 inch hisense u76n. Still wish I could afford a 115 inch lol 😆 but my 100 inch was only 1799 dollars which is insane for a tv with that picture quality and size. Its 144hz,qled and 256 local dimming zones with 800 rated brightness that easily punches above 1k nits. You can get a u8n or a qm8 85 inch now for under 1800 dollars and they have oled like picture quality.
Great vid! I was under peer pressure to get an 85inch for my tiny apartment but this makes total sense. 75inch is ideal. BTW those lampshades are stunning! Great choice, really complements your tv
@@davidozz4068 It works out that I have a 35 to 36 degree viewing angle with a 75 inch set sitting 8 1/2 feet away, which exceeds the SMPTE recommendation of 30 degrees for mixed usage, but is still less than the 42 degree angle that THX has at their maximum. I like immersion so 35 degrees or so is good. Your mileage may vary. Best to test out different screen sizes and distances before you buy if you can.
I was going between 65 and 77 but 85 is brutal 😄Was thinking 77 is overkill but now I think it might be the right choice. I was playing Zelda BOTW on a FHD 120" beamer but the picture was not as sharp. Zelda looks great on that Sony.
Nice! I got the 75 inch version just a few weeks ago. Your reasoning for going with it over the OLED is the same as mine. Open space with windows, oled only made sense if it was gonna be in a media room.
I love how people acting like sunblind dont exist , Contrast is everything and Oled is still King.Even Samsung finally admits and start oled models productions for next year.
Can you please tell me where you got that stand and what model it is? I got an 85” for similar reasons as you but can’t for the life of me find an awesome simple stand like you have. I DO NOT want to mount this beautiful beast
Love your energy!! I’m spec’ing out a 77” for a 10 ft distance in my game room. Coming in just above 30 degrees. So cool to see the high end of the spectrum.
You should look into setting up Phillips Hue Sync lights with that display, I think they would aid in immersion quite a lot. You can sync up to ten points of light anywhere in the room and you'd be surprised how much you don't know you need it.
Depends on use. THX standard is 40°: Contrary to her given chart, 102" away (8.5') is actually 39.9°, absolutely ideal for cinematic/most television show content, but would be less than ideal for gaming. 35.5° at a 75" 4k would be perfect for 8.5 feet and gaming/mixed use
I have a 55 inch Sony X950G mounted on the wall in my small bedroom that I bought back in May 2019 which I lay on my bed 9ft away from it which is in between the recommended viewing distance & looks perfect for me. That size is mean't for a bigger room, but actually works very well as I was almost gonna buy the 65 inch, but would have been too big. Edit: June 2024, I've been using it for five years so far & it still impresses me. I mostly play my Switch, watch sports, movies & UA-cam videos on it which all look incredible with top notch picture quality as expected for a Sony.

@@BlackPaperMoon18 yeah I jumped from 32 to 58 and now it looks like 32. 😂
I could NOT stop smiling watching that MASSIVE amazing panel just... vibin there
great vid!!!
Wow, That is a monster TV!!!! Looks great in your home I have to admit.
Sony 4 life 😎😏😍❤️💯
I purchased sony x9500h 55inch , its perfect for my home and image quality is divine
OMG, I'm not alone! I'm not the only one who plays with one joy-con in each hand. 😁
Its the way
Wait...how do other people play??
Wow. Thanks for this video. I’ve been debating on the size of tv to get for an apartment but was worried about going too big, and this REALLY helped! Gaming and movie perspectives are much appreciated! Thanks! This was helpful!
That tiny apartment is still bigger than the average sized ones here in the UK! Haha
Wow nice a big tv👍💖
I have a 65 inch tv and I'm pretty sure I have that same exact ikea stand. I love how the 85 inch fits the entire thing.
whats the name of stand?
Damn, this looks good. 👍🏻 When I first got the 55 inches I was like whoa but this one stands out.
Same
So size does matter after all 😔
@Benjamin Kidman yikes
Big better just my wife likes it
Someone beat me to this comment lol
We've heard it all before, it's "how" you use it ;)
Not in this case lol. Shitty picture
Nice, i got a 65" of the same model coming in a few days, wanted bigger but my room wont support, still will be a massive upgrade over the 40" i have been dealing with for the last 8 years.
Oh same !! I just got a 65" after living with a 40" for a decade
Kinda wondering if I should've gone with a lower-tier 75" tho, but alot of ppl said quality > size
Its extremely comforting watching a review from an individual. I despise the millionaire endorsed reviewers.
They are so fake, and so tacky.
Thank you
Best video on UA-cam 💙💙
I chose the same tv in 75” for the exact same reasons you mentioned in your description. Love the picture quality. Everything looks great on this set.
Psych! That is an AWESOME show!
If you can fit that in your apartment I'm am so considering 85" TV next year for my home! Woo-hoo!
Great review. Lots of thoughtful, useful, and creative content and commentary. Appreciate you!
@@Im_George she said that it didn't have HDMI 2.1?
@@Im_George you said the video was incorrect, she never said anything about the 950H having HDMI 2.1
@@Im_George yeah, she recommended the 900H for HDMI 2.1 and said she chose the 950H for the better picture quality.
Lmao, he deleted his replies
@@Kenjionigod Because they're incorrect. What purpose is there to have them up?
Putting that huge TV in that tiny room makes as much sense as going to the movie theater and sitting in the front row.
going to a movie theatre and watching a large screen from the back of the theatre makes even less sense because you are paying to do it. actually sitting 8 feet from a 85 inch TV if set at the right height is not over bearing once you install it after a week take it away and put a 75 inch in its place and see how you feel.
Getting the X91j soon with full array. So excited to upgrade to an 85 inch! This video was awesome! Thanks!
6:25 Excellent taste in television. Shame Psych was never released on Blu-ray.
Did you ever find out where to buy it because I am looking for one just like it
My husband and I want a huge TV for gaming and we just bought a massive pit-like couch, so we'll have some distance between us and the wall. 85 inches is SO tempting!
Happy for u😁. It looks awesome even on video. What did you shoot the video with?
Erica, you are living my dream. Owning the wall!!
Don't let them tell you what size is great, you do you ;)
85 for small can't be too good on eyes. We need a 6 month update.
I would love a video of you playing GameCube to see how it looks on your new TV. Also go over the connections you are using for the GameCube.
eek! 4:3 would be horrid on a 16:9 trust me. it would be like playing a gameboy game on a gameboy advanced and hitting the sholder button.
I clicked on this thinking it was a Sara Dietschy video. The resemblance is like twin level. Glad I did though, great video.
Dang an apartment? It’s gonna suck moving that out of there when you move one day
Great vid! I was under peer pressure to get an 85inch for my tiny apartment but this makes total sense. 75inch is ideal.
BTW those lampshades are stunning! Great choice, really complements your tv
I have a 75” thanks for the overlay I want a 85” now .. my roomate said I didn’t need it he will be getting kicked out soon ... I’m going lg 86” UHD
Very nice! I sit 8 1/2 feet away from my 75 inch TV and quite like it for everything.
also for just watching TV shows on cable tv SDR?
@@davidozz4068 That as well, yes. I still have cable TV.
@@markh351 I am 13ft away from my TV. So, today I decided I can safely go for the 75inch!
Tnx for your comment 🙏
@@davidozz4068 That is awesome, congrats and enjoy!!
None of the tv classic tv shows cannot handle this tech
That "fragile" pronunciation made me lol. Somebody's seen a certain movie.
Breath of the wild looks amazing! Like watching Link in the cinemas
Why plugin a Chromecast when Android TV has that built in?
Yeah, I noticed the Chromeast also--mainly because I have 3 at home, and travel with 1. Solved that with the 75" Roku.
You should look into setting up Phillips Hue Sync lights with that display, I think they would aid in immersion quite a lot. You can sync up to ten points of light anywhere in the room and you'd be surprised how much you don't know you need it.
lytmi is way better and they also dont cost 700 dollars to get everything set up
I currently sit 9.2ft from a 65 inch LG C8 and am looking to purchase the 83 inch Sony A90J in the coming months. It will be a nice upgrade I think.
And in few years 85 would be the norm and 120 inch would be considered the next 85 inch
11 feet looks too far back for that size. I’m at 75” and 6 feet back. Perfect for me.
Bigger isn’t always better. A 65” would’ve been a much better size for that tiny room
I disagree its a perfect size for her distance
"I know. You know. That I'm not telling the truth"
