Why X950H?
While I am all for future proofing I don't think VRR or 120hz will benefit me as I prefer Nintendo games. Nintendo isn't using bleeding edge hardware and I don't count on it for the Switch Pro so current 60hz gaming at 4K and even 1080p is fine for me! The input lag on the 950h is respectably low. See www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/son... for specs.
Compared to Samsung's gaming TVs the Sony 950h uses local dimming, even in game mode, so black stays black instead of grayish. Samsung tunes down the local dimming algorithm in game mode to lower input lag but it affects the image quality. Huge plus for the 950h! I don't want to compromise on image quality even for games. Also, compared to OLED the 950h has a higher peak brightness, which is both great for HDR to pop and for the ambient lighting of the HUGE window next to the TV. Motion handling on the 950h is great and so is the image! Easy to calibrate with Calman. Well calibrated custom mode out of the box! NO dirty screen effect that we see on the Samsungs.
A very powerful TV! If you are a casual gamer I don't think you can beat the 950h for the cost to feature ratio. 950h also has incredible speakers so if you don't have a sound bar it will not be missed! Sony 900h will be most compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X but the 950h has the better image and viewing angles. I will pick the better image any day!

Working on buying a house... we’re in a transition apartment that is quite small but works even for a huge tv lol.
Your awesome engagement, through ads playing on the video, is helping us offset the expense of the TV so thank you! Truly! It’s our future house warming gift.
Right on 👍🏽
What kind of house are you going to get? Greetings from Singapore.
Can’t wait to come over and watch El CID. Which night? It will have to be post pandemic. Thank you.
Your parents came over? Are you still in Seattle or back in SoCal?

nice
This is one of the best TV "unboxing/review" videos I have ever watched. Unlike many other tech channels on UA-cam, you don't obsess over endless and minute specs. Sometimes, it's just nice to watch a more "real world use" video. It's not overly long with endless rambling about overly technical specs. You simply show and tell us about the unboxing process, what it's like to watch and play on the TV, and how it makes you feel. Great video.
My new 75 inch Samsung tv is so big, I feel like I'm IN the film ! I was watching Enter The Dragon, and Bruce Lee kicked me in the face ! lol
I just bought a 55" Sony TV which feels gigantic after years of having a 32" LG TV xD.....
Made a similar upgrade. Had that LG led tv since like 2014 lol Soldier
Haha I remember doing something similar. I went from 32 inch to 42inch and being like wow its big, then I got my first 4k tv which was a 49inch samsung and it was a nice size at the time. Then I went crazy and a few years later I got a 75inch samsung q9fn and it was a display unit, it was Huge and beautiful lol and my room wasn't honestly big enough so I ended up going to a 65 inch lg c9 oled and it's been a great display not as bright as the q9fn but still great both have strengths and weaknesses, anyway now I kind of want a 77inch lg g1 because I'm sitting pretty far away right now from my TV lol
Anyways I bet you find that 32inch tiny now lol
May be you can get 85 inch when you are 85 🤣🤣 then
I also brought a 55 inch tv but it's Samsung tv and i think 55 inch tv enough
My Late Grandfather had a 14" Color Television, bought in early 2000s... That's still being used by my Grandmother.
Glorious Television
Dang. That's like a laptop.🏵️
😂
If it ain't broke don't fix it xD
I remember when my parents bought a somy rear projection hdtv back in 2006. It was a 50 inch tv and we thought that was gigantic lmao.
Great review, I am also searching for an 85 inch for the rec room. Nice job. ..and I played all the ads of course...good luck and all the best.
Get a projector why would you do that

I am trying to decide between an 86” 4K tv and a 77” OLED. Should I buy bigger or sharper?
I love big TV screens, it is the way to go for my games and movies alike. Congrats it fits your room perfectly
Wow, That is a monster TV!!!! Looks great in your home I have to admit.
Wow. Thanks for this video. I’ve been debating on the size of tv to get for an apartment but was worried about going too big, and this REALLY helped! Gaming and movie perspectives are much appreciated! Thanks! This was helpful!
This confirms it, you’re a size queen when it comes to screens on all devices
Most women are size queens in all sorts of areas. I'm certain Ms. Griffin is no different.

@@hridoyahmed4335 you believe staring at your phone screen, for hours a day, will save your eyes?
Although I went with an LG, that's the same joy I expressed bringing home my 82" TV
We have the 85" X900H and honestly we love it. NOTHING like a massive screen to make movies more immersive. For games, wow, not gonna lie it actually adds to the feeling of light motion sickness in some 3D games, especially at higher framerates, but for more cinematic games at 30 fps or games with more static backgrounds like fighting games, it's amazing.
The motion sickness is prolly from the crappy input lag and latency on that model, its not really meant for gaming
What is your distance from the tv?
@@alexdas2000 8 ft
I have a 75 inches screen and I'm 10,50 feet away from it and I find it too big after 3 months of use! Did you get used to it?
@@GaetanoPirullidid it get better after 4 month? I.m on 9.5 feet choosing between 65 and 75…
We just bought a 55 inch Samsung QLED for our living room and it feels huge! We have 42 inch TVs in our bedroom and basement, and our previous living room TV was 47 inches. The first couple of days with the 55 inch TV took a little bit to get used to. I can't imagine an 85 inch TV!
And i thought my 65 inch was small

what an epic video, the beautiful tv is huuuuge ! thanks also for the viewing distance explanation !
This is the most informative and useful video on UA-cam regarding the size of TV. i've been watch a lot of videos about TV size aspects and finally I reached the point.
Many thanks for your detailed review!
Damn!! I just bought a 55 CX and I think I'm have it right in my face now with a huge TV like this one
Love your energy!! I’m spec’ing out a 77” for a 10 ft distance in my game room. Coming in just above 30 degrees. So cool to see the high end of the spectrum.
Thanks a lot for the great review!!!

Sony 4 life👍🏽👌🏽💯😎☺️
Samsung is better
So rare
Had a 100" screen 8ft away (using an UST projector and a screen I built a stand for without damaging the wall) , was awesome, everyone loved it. Those 'official' viewing numbers you see are b.s. in my experience. No one ever complained, everyone loved it
Exactly. Enjoy what you got. Those talking heads will say something different next time when their puny brains find something else to be their light bulb moment
A fantastic production. Thanks.

Great video. Loved the TV review. Thank you!
Wow! Thanks for sharing
Nice tv and props to you for watching Psych one of my favorite shows of all time
I chose the same tv in 75” for the exact same reasons you mentioned in your description. Love the picture quality. Everything looks great on this set.
This was an AMAZING video! Kudos on the info and live references!

Damn, this looks good. 👍🏻 When I first got the 55 inches I was like whoa but this one stands out.

I got the 55 inch one and it’s coming on Monday, I’m so excited 😭😭
Sorry, but that's tiny, man...
Thanks for sharing I recently bought a LG 75 inch TV followed by Six Kef satalite speakers and Kef subwoofer for surround sound home theater. Through recently purchased Yamaha receiver amplifier. best review ever of evers ! well done !
Nice, i got a 65" of the same model coming in a few days, wanted bigger but my room wont support, still will be a massive upgrade over the 40" i have been dealing with for the last 8 years.
Awesome review, I just took back my 65" and seen the 85" for the first time and I was blown away. That tv looks amazing in your apartment. I'm thinking about the 75" now for a better viewing experience, but I really want the 85" so I'm still debating.
75 is cool

Amaaaazing.
Me, too--briefly.😊 Then, had me sighing for an 85" or at least an 82"😏.
U can have this effect on any level. Like if u jump from 24 monitor to 32 tv or 32 tv to 55 it looks like wall and then after some usage it lost this effect and it seems small again.

It weighs about the same as my 27” Sony Trinitron CRT
Haha!! So true. We had a 32 inch trinitron From 2003 till about 2012, weighted 165 lbs if I remember right.
And your trinitron still has better contrast.
But Trinitrons with flat screen has huge distortion, But I loved my 50kg CRT 20 years ago.
@Benjamin Kidman They were WEGA. But pronounced VEGA according to Sony
Back in 1992, i purchased a then brand new
32' inch Sony Trinitron XBR TV. It was one
of thee T H I C K E S T/HEAVIEST TV sets
i had ever owned.
Most of the weight was towards the front of it's
TV tube. So much so, that we had to position the set with about 6 to 8 inches or so of the back if it, would hang off the back of the TV stand i bought for it to fit correctly on the stand, so it would not
fall forward.
Getting the X91j soon with full array. So excited to upgrade to an 85 inch! This video was awesome! Thanks!
I really enjoyed your video, especially your tone.

If you can fit that in your apartment I'm am so considering 85" TV next year for my home! Woo-hoo!
Superb Video.
You bring me LIFE
I just bought my parents this exact TV❤️. I figured it was time to replace their 1080p 75" Samsung. The TV they have today is wall mounted and about 11.5ft away. So the 85" will fit like a glove 👌🏻. I have a 77" C9 myself but their room is usually really bright and the TV is on pretty much 12h a day, bare minimum. So an OLED was a no go. And with the amount of brightness this kicks out I'm excited to see the difference in HDR content 🤩. I love my OLED but Sony's LED with FALD looks soooo close and a bit more natural on most comparisons so it'll be a win on most points + their old tv was a edge lit led 🙃. So this will definitely blow their minds 🤯👍🏻.
Fun fact it's been a while since I last saw a video from you (I've been subscribed since forever but you've gotten lost in my feed) so to find you again while looking for videos on this exact TV and seeing you doing well was a great suprise and made me all the more hyped for the TV 😁.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I have 12 feet distance and I purchased the 77 inch LG OLED I have to admit going from the 65 inch to the 77 inch I was overwhelmed at first but now I got used to it and people who come over seem to like it but I really think if I had to do it all over again I would stick with the 65.
Why 65?
@@josed4110 because it just seems a little overwhelming until you get used to it the 77 inch, 65 seems a bit more appropriate for the space distance but I have the 77 in there again I moved the 65 to my bedroom so I’m right back where I started from. Lol 😂

Wow nice a big tv👍💖
I went with the 75” 900H over the 950 due to the game mode, and having a 75” tv with a 7ms refresh rate at 120hz. It’s a better tv for gaming, and having set up for Dolby Vision in a Dolby Atmos home theater, makes movies seem better than in the theater.
Dolby vision and dolby atmos on a big ass quality tv and sound system is 1000x better than the theater. I love it so much when I find a good movie that has the current full dolby support.
I could NOT stop smiling watching that MASSIVE amazing panel just... vibin there
