I love my essential oils and I have only ever diffused lavender around my two cats. We are currently living full-time in a 8×27ft Travel Trailer and didn't want it to be too much.
If mixing with water, a few drops of dawn or similar dish-soap help ensure the essential oils are evenly mixed. (Don't use more, because it's not needed and can be toxic to cats in high concentrations.) The water-mixture is also good for misting household objects with essential oils where cats sleep and fleas may be present. I'd use the same mixture and concentrations (about 10 drops per half-cup) as to not make it overpowering, and make sure the smell doesn't bother you.

Mr Murray is getting quite sassy. My overweight Tuxedo (Mr. Moonshine) hasn't yet popped at me but he is letting me know he no longer likes being picked up or carried. If he comes inside when I whistle there isn't a problem. He usually does come quickly but sometimes he is enjoying his outdoor time and I have to lug him back inside so I can go to the store. On his flea remedy, 1 cup of combined aloe vera gel and witch hazel with 20 drops of essential oils is a 0.42 dilution. Not enough. IF you want a 1% dilution you need 48 drops of EO, NOT 20 drops. I know for sure not to vaporize eucalyptus around your pets. I also use essences with them on treats and that sort of thing for anxiety et al. Love aloe juice, I usually just put that in water for them every once in awhile. My dog baby loves licking off the organic aloe gel when I put it on him for something so it doesn't last very long. Thanks for the info.
What if I want to use essential oils around cats dogs and other animals for that matter but not directly on them? Which ones would be safe to use around the house without having to worry? For example if I wanted to use some essential oils in a mist on a pillow or furniture that they could come in contact with, or in a diffuser for my self but they'd be around as well.

My cat was having trouble with using the litter box and vomiting all over the house. Nothing I tried worked until I found oil of oregano. A shot down the throat with a baby syringe cured her with one dose.
Have you personally ever tried oregano oil in your mouth? You say it cured your cat....didn't you really mean, it killed your cat?!? I did make that mistake once....I was showing my daughter how to ingest sublingually (under the tongue), and took 2 drops. I thought I was going to drop dead on the kitchen floor!!! All I could do was scream, HOT! HOT! HOT!! And I don't remember anything else after that. So, I can't imagine you putting a syringe of oregano oil down your cat's throat! It may have done burn damage to those sensitive tissues....I hope it was hugely diluted! Shalom! 💜🕊💜
Is it okay to bathe our cat's eyes in warm saline water (pinch of salt in half a cup of water) please? I think our cat could do with this every second or third day, but my 94 yr old mother is dead against it. (Sometimes she's right about things; other times she's just fruity. But she has me worried.)
Dr Jones, can you please do a video on FIV? I'm debating on adopting an FIV+ cat and I don't trust my local vets. He is 5 years old and they just pumped him full of vaccines.

i dont use it on ny cat, but i got a diffuser with lavender organic oil. perfect. my Leela come ans snidf the steam.. i chased her away. I think my little princess will be fine.
My 15 year old cat who had kidney disease for the last 2 years was found to have fluid in her lungs and chest cavity and we said "goodbye for now" as the vet said it points to either cancer or, I think it was heart disease...whatever the 2 ailments were it was clear to me it was time to let her go Home. I just realized I've been using my humidifier nightly for about the past month with lavendar essential oils and fear this could have caused her lung situation. (Is fluid in the lungs considered pneumonia?) There are articles online that say inhaling lavendar oil in this way can cause aspirational pneumonia. Are you certain this wouldn't be the case? Thank you for all of your excellent content. ✌️

@@iwona4685 I just purchased a diffuser, but the instructions say to fill with water and add a few essential oil drops to it. It also claims to humidify a room. Is this considered a mini humifier, then?
Shalom! 💜🕊💜
Any thoughts on blackseed oil ?
When you say you use Aloe Vera Juice…do you mean ANY kind of aloe Vera juice? Thank you in advance doc
Is this referring to defusing? Is it safe for me to use an oil defused in my home around my cats?
Is it okay to bathe our cat's eyes in warm saline water (pinch of salt in half a cup of water) please? I think our cat could do with this every second or third day, but my 94 yr old mother is dead against it. (Sometimes she's right about things; other times she's just fruity. But she has me worried.)
Saline should be fine, I wouldn't overdo the amount of salt... and only use a good quality sea salt. I use it for just about anything and everything.
@@kymbyrly Thank you so much, Kim. Your advice is so appreciated.
I was just wondering about something. Are pet wipes safe for cats?
Amazing video!!!!! Thanks, you little hero!
Dr Jones, can you please do a video on FIV? I'm debating on adopting an FIV+ cat and I don't trust my local vets. He is 5 years old and they just pumped him full of vaccines.
Can we do the same aloe juice and witch hazel with the lavender as a spray???
Is it okay to use a peppermint oil diluted in water as a spray for the couch? I'm trying to keep the neighbors bed bugs and roaches away. Thank you.
I knew it! Thank you sooooo much for this video!
You're welcome.

Hi, instead of Witch Hazel con I apply Thistle oil? Thank you!
What about Jasmine essential oil? I read somewhere that they are safe for cats. Can you please tell?
My 15 year old cat who had kidney disease for the last 2 years was found to have fluid in her lungs and chest cavity and we said "goodbye for now" as the vet said it points to either cancer or, I think it was heart disease...whatever the 2 ailments were it was clear to me it was time to let her go Home.
I just realized I've been using my humidifier nightly for about the past month with lavendar essential oils and fear this could have caused her lung situation. (Is fluid in the lungs considered pneumonia?)
There are articles online that say inhaling lavendar oil in this way can cause aspirational pneumonia.
Are you certain this wouldn't be the case?
Thank you for all of your excellent content. ✌️
I;m so sorry that you lost your cat. ❤

Thank you 🙏 dr Jones
Thank you very much Dr Jones, I will try the lavender with the diffuser in the living room as my cat keeps yowling. I have had her checked at the vet and she has cognitive dysfunction and is depressed...I'm sure the diffuser with lavender will help her. 😺👍
