    I have been lifting weighs and jogging regularly since I was 40. Now 72 and I’ve lost 25 lbs. Still exercising and my skin tells the story. I use peptides, hydrolorinic acid, retinal. I smear castor oil all over my body. Still my skin looks loose. Surgery might be my next option. I wonder if this woman knows what she is talking about?

    • @AliciaJonesHealthyLiving

      Hi. I do know what I’m talking about. Please read the other comments I’ve posted. About some needing surgery, about autophagy and it’s effects AND in this video I could also not be any clearer that this tactic doesn’t work on everyone. I even give very specific examples of who this works for. At this point it sounds like this doesn’t work for you. Fair enough. Then, as I’ve mentioned in many of the comments, if invasive surgery is a route you’re willing to take, go for it. Best to you

    I am 67 y.o. woman who has worked out consistently since I was 21. However, I went through a hard time a few years ago and was brokenhearted, and couldnt eat. I quickly lost 10 pounds and my arms, which looked quite nice took the hit from it. Now I have batwings. I am working out with a trainer and see improvements. I'm trying not to get discouraged and be super consistent. In your opinion, can I get rid of the hanging triceps, or at least make them better?

I think because they have assessed you, they know your background thoroughly, they would be best at knowing if it is possible. The fact that you didn’t have “bat wings” until you stopped working out gives me hope! But I cant say for sure. Keep lifting weights and you’ll know soon enough!! Keep me posted! I enjoy your video but I have a question. I am 65 and lost 60 pounds when I was 58 and when I was 63, I gained 40 pounds I just lost 33 pounds since March till July I'm working on another 9 pounds I may need hip surgery. I've been in pain for like a year, what is the best thing for me? I have been doing work on my arms but I was at a point I could barely walk and now my walking is still marginal. I'm going to start swimming and doing some yoga. What should I do that? I'm in so much pain on the left side.

      Congratulations on your amazing weight loss! That is wonderful!!! As for the type of exercise you need to do, I think with the level of pain you’re in, you should ask your doctor what would be best for you. I cant give that advice as I’ve never met you, and I don’t know your medical history. The best person to ask is your health care provider. Swimming is low impact, so they may suggest that. They may also want you to do something else. I wish I could help more. Keep me posted on what they suggest for you!

      Oh no, i'm sorry you're struggling with this.. I don't really know the type of exercise you're doing.. I would need to know more to know if a switch in workout strategy could help, or if you would need something that exercise and nutrition can't help you with... I can share, that not all exercise is the same, and just doing weights doesn't necessarily tone the skin.. there is a formula to what you do.. I made this video (if you're interested) that shares a bit about this.. ua-cam.com/video/OSBV72n3GzI/v-deo.html I hope that helps, and if you have any questions, please do let me know.

      I’m sorry to hear that.. honestly I have a few wonderful friends who are fabulous CrossFit instructors and properly cycle their participants into heavier weight cycles and faster paced Lower weight cycles, BUT all too often CrossFit instructors don’t do this. They have very fast paced and heavy workout models that are quite dangerous and for the over fifty body DONT adequately build lean mass or allow reparation rates that are needed. I cant speak to your instructors. They may really be strategic and wonderful, but, if not, this could be where the issue lies. If you’re interested in diving deeper, do let me know and we can book an online call.

      @AliciaJonesHealthyLiving  Місяць тому

      If that is your belief, all the more power to you, but that is not scientific fact. You cannot weight train an arm muscle and the fat in the arm turns to muscle or disappears.. you can lose fat from the whole body at the same time as you weight train and enhance muscle, so it looks like you’ve spot reduced, but factually this is incorrect.

    • @AliciaJonesHealthyLiving
      @AliciaJonesHealthyLiving  2 роки тому

      Hi Sharon!! You're never too old to try! :D .. I can't promise you won't completely rid yourself of all loose skin. That's not realistic as elasticity changes with age. That being said, if you're not weight lifting right now, or you're not lifting weights in a manner that creates enough stimuli to enhance adequate lean muscle growth, you may want to think about starting. This is honestly the best way to help with loose skin (besides invasive surgeries that may not be necessary!) ... I hope this helps!

      Hi Debbie! There are so many factors at play to this. Genetically this may be your makeup.. on the weights side, have you been periodizing(elevating and decreasing weight size and repetition range) or have you been staying with the same amount of repetitions throughout? Also, what type of weight training are you doing and are you also switching up the exercises on occasion to allow different stimuli? There are so many different factors at play. I'm sorry you believe that.. Just so you're aware of proper nutritional, science backed knowledge, some people can greatly reduce medication, and keep type II diabetes at bay, but can never go off medication. Some can change their lifestyle, and their nutrition and have a 100% remission. I'm so happy your nutrition strategy worked for you, but please don't generalize your results on the rest of the world.

I'm not sorry I feel this way. My brother died because olhe wouldn't change how he ate. I just wish other health care professionals were more informed.

      @@AliciaJonesHealthyLiving Anyone can reverse type 2 diabetes by eating low enough carbs. Excess carbs is what causes type 2, no matter how thin or overweight a person might be. And yes, remaining low carb for the rest of your life will keep the type 2 in remission. You may want to actually research the evidence based science behind metabolic health.
