The reason why the Pacific Islands have their haka is because there is a DNA relationship, Maori for instance migrated as part of one of the 12 tribes and went thru the Waikiki (Hawaiian) islands through the pacific, through Asia, and some coming to Aotearoa...hence there is a lot of similarities in their te reo (language/words), hakas/cutural dances, and culture of Iwi, Hapu (Families/Tribes) as a whole. Absolutely loved this haka - it did feel legit/right and is imho presented with a great deal of respect and dignity. Just finished binge watching frontier and can’t wait to see the movie
Saw this on another site from a different camera angle and he couldn't step back because there were paparazzi 3-4 rows thick behind him. He'd have had to shoot over all their heads.
When the people magazine came to my house with whoever the latest sexiest man alive is I'm sorry I can't remember but I said out loud somebody needs to call people and ask them if they don't know who this man is and why in the hell is he not on the cover?
Aquaman was amazing ,shot out to James Wan !! Absolutely breathtaking !! And Jason Momoa is just the best for this role! Huge fan ! He is the type of Man we need ladies :)
So this video sent me on a quest to learn what Haka is. Wow!! I've been reading for over 2 hours about Maori culture...so fascinating and beautiful and awesome! The people's of the earth never cease to amaze me....exploring and experiencing and learning about the variety of cultures and beautiful lands and oceans of this sweet mother earth is my favorite part of being human!
Though I do not understand what is being said, I always feel the charge from a Haka. And I always want to join in, though am clueless on the motions. I must admit the first Haka I have ever seen on video was the New Zealand Rugby team The All Blacks. And some of the Haka you performed here is in the one I first saw. Thank you for sharing this amazing cultural/tribal ritual. Also love that your kiddos joined in! Best of luck in everything Jason! Can't wait to see Aquaman!
@@abcdefg3829 I said yes women do the haka but they do the feminine actions they don't do the same actions as the boys and they certainly don't go to the ground like that
@Tyrah Haami Actually no it's not. Girls do feminine actions because in those days the males were the warriors that did it in the wars. I'm not like hating on them or anything it's cool to see they like the culture I'm just saying the girls don't go alongside the boys in this
@Tyrah Haami That's why Isaid I'm not hating or anything I was just stating the fact. And i doubt you're full Māori because there's only 2 or 3 left in the world which are known. I've been in a keep haka group since I was 5. I go to my maraes regularly. I'm Māori too so what's your point?

Our cultural practices had to be put to a stop, we can't even be there for one another when a loved one is lost to covid. The immediate family have to go through the whole loss and grief on their own. Seeing the Haka being performed, brought light back to my heart💙 Jason I can't thank you enough for this. Much love and respect to you and your family.

I recognize some of those tane who did the haka with Jason, one of them being my husbands cousin, Kelly McNaught...I think most if not all other than Jason were Maori. Well done guys...blessed to be from the land of the long white cloud...Aotearoa...

Dude is legit. Always puts on for his people and his kids seem to have literally the best time all the time!
I came here from another video on his channel of him at the premiere with his family. He seems the luckiest guy on the planet
His children will remember this experience forever.
Absolutely loved this haka - it did feel legit/right and is imho presented with a great deal of respect and dignity. Just finished binge watching frontier and can’t wait to see the movie
You and Manu Bennett should team-up for the Hakka because it would be so awesome.
how are you everywhere?
Manu verse Momoa.....who would win?

Aquaman VS DeathStroke? DeathStroke FTW 💪🏽
Haka is one of the best thing ever !! Extremely manly and deadly!! 10 out of 10 to the legendary haka !!
Everyone with tribal ancestry would respect this so v much ✊
And everyone DOES have tribal ancestry. We all just need to get back to it. This is so inspirational.
Not sure what tribal ancestry I have, but I respect the hell outta this.

Wish the cameraman would step back and zoom out
Saw this on another site from a different camera angle and he couldn't step back because there were paparazzi 3-4 rows thick behind him. He'd have had to shoot over all their heads.
There's another one... Like she said. From farther back.
Why the sad emoji?😔

I seriously think he's the sexiest man alive🔥💜🔥♥️
Pretty near! But No. 1 is still Corey Taylor ;)
Should be a damn CRIMEEEE!!!!
Firstly when i was a kid i thought that i want to be like Aquaman
After this 😂
HELL YAAHHH....❤️🔥
Though I do not understand what is being said, I always feel the charge from a Haka. And I always want to join in, though am clueless on the motions. I must admit the first Haka I have ever seen on video was the New Zealand Rugby team The All Blacks. And some of the Haka you performed here is in the one I first saw. Thank you for sharing this amazing cultural/tribal ritual. Also love that your kiddos joined in! Best of luck in everything Jason! Can't wait to see Aquaman!
Hakas always make me cry!
There's always been so much more than what meets the eye with Joseph Jason Namakeaha Momoa & I love him for those reasons! ❤
LOVE THIS!!!!

And what are the meaning of the words?
really cool that the girl was included.
Yeah but she shouldn't be doing what they are doing
@@chloehasler194 women can do the haka as well
@@abcdefg3829 I said yes women do the haka but they do the feminine actions they don't do the same actions as the boys and they certainly don't go to the ground like that
@Tyrah Haami Actually no it's not.
I love the fact your children are involved in everything you do. You are a wonderful dad. Thanks for filming in Newfoundland and please come back again we would to see you and your family!
0:22 that guy had the best face at the premiere. When I saw a video of him dancing at the premiere I was like WTF who is this gUy

I'm in tears, with the Nation that I come from. We are now in a state of emergency due to the fast spreading of the delta variant.
I have no idea what you are saying in that Haka, but my soul felt it ! And what a very very beautifull childeren you and your wife have 🥰😘 i love the fact that they did the Haka with you . Amazing ! I LOVED the movie ! ( i wish i could translate wat you said in that Haka ) it is one of my dreams to one day see one upclose
Come to New Zealand and we'll be happy to show you!
I'm with Tyler ^^^ come down under n see it.
There is nothing more hair on the back of ur neck/ goosebump raising then watching a group of men put all their soul into a Haka, it really is a phenomenal thing to see up close!
They looked like they could have stormed Atlantis right then with no weapons and WON!!
This is the first year i have heard about the Haka! 58 year old black man and i love the honor, respect and love of this ritual!
Whoever disliked this video has no sense of respect for another persons culture and what it stands for because this was so empowering to watch and that’s being said by a Muslim who respects everyone’s culture and religion
Man I love seeing people true to their roots and passing it down to the young ones. I commend that!!
This movie was absolutely fun as hell and pretty to look at. Jason fully embraces becoming the Atlantis king.
aquaman=heavy metal vocalist.

Finally got to see the film today. It made me so happy to see how the basis of why the war was starting was because of the way humans were polluting the water. I really really hope this promotes and inspires people to change their ways and recognize their impact in everyday life. ♥️♥️ Such an incredible movie!!
Atlantis would have had to be polluting to create their advanced structures. So I didn't get that part.
i freaking love the kids. theyre so precious! theyre cherishing the tradition of the haka war dance. that makes me happy to see young people caring about where their heritage. honestly havent seen aquaman but Jason Momoa is the man. I enjoyed him during the production of aquaman. He seems like a genuine person.
For all the confused. This is a Maori Haka!
@paul suiqa Jason Momoa is Hawaiian, but the haka is a Maori thing
@paul suiqa it originated in new Zealand but it isn't uncommon to be performed by other Islanders today. And of course no one owns it, just like no one owns jazz or soccer
@paul suiqa it's all good man
Guys to all the other Pacific islanders especially New Zealand y'all can thank Samoa for putting y'all on the map
