Love the mix of Hawaiian chanting ? Then into a haka ...the first part had beautiful wording like (my translation🤣)...”my power comes from ...my ancestors ....my mind..my body..my spirit ...its the light within me “ fuuuuuu powerful lol ....the second part I recognized comes from a well known nz haka ! Well done family representing us all on the big stage ! From a Maori of nz ! Chur...tuturu whaka maua kia Tina!
aaah thank you for the translation!! This whole video (I mean most of his videos) I was wishing I could speak Hawaiian so I could understand what they were saying. The culture seems so beautiful, and if every Hawaiian is as loving and caring as Jason is, then I'm definetely learning it so I can move there!! :)
There isnt 1 single insincere thing about this man that is what makes him so beloved and so full of joy and integrity at such a young age. It's like hes seeing everyone and everything for the first time, and like he's seeing everyone completely equally...no color barriers, no sociofinancial differences, just people, and he treats everyone with such pure kindness and respect. It's such a rarity anymore to see or meet anyone with this truly beautiful a soul.
It's because he's from Hawaii and Hawaiian. It's the way of the land there. Unlike everywhere else where people backstab each other and take advantage. Hawaii is a place where you are taught to treat people how you want to be treated.
That was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes and chills....to be able to pass that down to the younger generation is so good. It's amazing to see and hear a culture speak through motion and language like theirs.

SteadyNUnremitting As a South African we adopt our father's cultures. I am father is Xhosa and my mother is Tswana. I identify as Xhosa because of him. So it might be the same with the Polynesian culture too.
Keone Jones That is why I said MIGHT, anyway Lola and Wolf are a quarter African American. Lisa doesn't seem to have a problem with the Polynesian culture taking precedence in her household.

NASA needs to hire them to handle first contact with aliens, ET will shit himself lol... Jason and Dwayne Johnson need to do a movie....Our very own Klingons
What a great example you are to young children Jason, or should I say, "Aquaman!"... This is exactly what it means to truly embrace your culture, have true knowledge of exactly who you are and to be so very proud of who you are... I wish everyone would feel this way about themselves (proud and love thyself) and would be a decent example to their own children, but first showing and learning to respect yourself and other people is the most important first step - constant kindness. You are all of this and just such a humble, extremely passionate and incredible man. If you always remain with goodness, who you are... humble, respectful, gracious and grateful and don't let fame ever make your head become too big😀... you will continue to always be blessed and fans will continue to love and support you☺! Jason..., your mother, as a single parent, did an EXCELLENT job raising you! You may not realize how much you are displaying to the world how she raised you, but you are! So I'm very proud of her! And YES! You are definitely one of a kind in Hollywood, because no other actor has ever been so humble, playful, bashful(which is so darn cute😆) and extremely respectful, gracious and kind to everyone, especially to their fans☺. Such a tough business... because fans can make you for years or break you if you are an actor, and sadly most actors head became too big, they no longer show their kindness, their great smile, appreciation and must have forgotten this about Fans! ☺💕 Blessings to you and your family!
I was thinking of getting a Dwayne Johnson theme Polynesian tattoo out of respect for the Polynesian culture.is it disrespectful if I do? I'm Mexican by the way.
I may not be Polynesian by birth, but since I was a child, I've always been close to my islander brothers and sisters. Be it Chamorro, Tahitian, Pinoy to the mighty and proud Kānaka maoli, Hawaiʻi maoli and Samoans and Māori and more. And as ohana we are all one tribe under the sun. I was honored when a lone Māori, preformed his solo Haka as protest to the Dakota pipeline for Standing Rock (which hit home because I am a proud decent of both the mighty tribes of Navajo and Sioux) And to watch him do that, helped me truly understand just how connected we are as a people. Kaikun need, not only are you my spirit animal/guide but like all whom have known struggle, you stand firm in what you believe in. In your teachings and life lessons and I thank you for all that you do. Mahalo with all my heart and soul. Polynesians, Native and adopted will stand by your side and face any and all storms with you.
This was so powerful, it made me get up and train harder than I have done in a long time. Thank you Jason and the Polynesian tribe, much love and respect
My people, Micronesians, although not as popular as Polynesians, also come from a seafaring culture. FSM preamble: "To make one nation of many islands, we respect the diversity of our cultures. Our differences enrich us. The seas bring us together, they do not separate us. Our islands sustain us, our island nation enlarges us and makes us stronger." And on a separate note, who are these 406 people that disliked this video?
Pacific Island people. I think the Samoans are most prominent. We carry against all cultures, even amongst the South Pacific ones. Family amongst all, but fiercely fa'asamoa.
Fa'afetai💕 Thank you for representing the Polynesian culture and making us all feel important. It’s an honor having you show the world what we are about.
I am so happy about this video...i was able to admire the traditional dances and other stuff...i love Polynesia and i am more than sure that i am going to visit Hawaii in the future as i want to live there as well!!😀💪❤
Your amazing. I love how you portray yourself and that you don’t let fame ruin you. You are always yourself and not a facade that Hollywood calls people to use. Thank you for being yourself. You are such an inspiration to me.
I’m not of Polynesian descent, but I am descended from the people of the Celtic isles. I respect and honor your commitment to your ancestry, and to bring it forward so it can remain a living heritage, a gift to the world, as well as your children.
I know Jason will never see this.. but loa maikaʻi 'oihana 😘 I have been watching Frontier since the beginning. I'm a history fan and it shows how greedy everyone got with a land that wasn't even theirs to begin with. I love the caracter they casted him in and I hope they include more aboriginal history and culture in the seasons to come. It's important that ppl are reminded of all the abuse your people had to endure. Sorry for butting into your comment.💕
No One I wish I could say otherwise but the racism and injustice that persists to this day to the First Nations is so deeply entrenched in the government and justice systems that it is still painful to see... Just last week, two reports came out stating that the best way to deal with the racism of the Thunder Bay police department would be to replace EVERYBODY and start over... That's just one police department in one small city... what about all the other cities across the country? Why does a demographic group that accounts for 5% of the population account for 50% of the incarcerated, and 33% of the homeless? Why are 50% of First Nation children in children's aid? Why were so many Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and their families ignored for so long? Why did so many bands withdraw from the Truth and Reconciliation hearings? #MMIWG #stopthegenocide #sterilizatioisanactofgenocide
@@sasbetasquadron873 I know 😔 I read about the lawsuit going on for the women who were sterilized. I'm a mother and just imagining that made me cry... in a country that goes around telling other countries how to treat ppl, they need to get their shit together! My husband has only been in Canada for 10 years and he says natives should take their land back, I got pretty emotional and went on a rant about how could their nation do that when the white man has stripped everything away from them including hope! A friend who has part of her family still on reserves in Saskatchewan told me how the water is STILL yellow and her family just got used to that... I was so mad. My dad works in water treatments and when I was a kid he was called on a reserve in Quebec, met with the chief so he could install proper water pumps. And worst part is ppl talk about reserves as if it's a privilege to have them... NO! The whole country belongs to the native ppl, they should have right and access to everything! Sorry, hormones 😅 I get a little upset over this.
Seeing your kids haka with you is so incredibly POWERFUL! Thank you for being such a strong influence for our culture and the family that we all are. Aloha bruddah from Oregon!
Mahalo nui loa for remembering us...was afraid that we were forgotten by Warner Bros, with the complete lack of marketing on the representation aspect. This is basically Black Panther for Polynesians.
Many "mainlanders" couldn't care less about tribal cultures. I was in tears during the Aquaman film, watching Jason using distinct references to the Polynesian culture/s. I recognized Haka references, and taiaha references when using his trident. I doubt many others in the theatre had any idea what he was doing. Just "cool" fight techniques. No. He was using Ancient fighting techniques.
Hahaha 😄@ 2:12 Nakoa-Wolf nudging & telling Lola, “Gooo” - very subtle, but you can hear it. Then dads look of approval for her to come on out! ☺️ Too cute. #SiblingsAnnoying #MineDoesItToo #LuvTheirFam #AquaMan
The fact that people not of polynesian decent can feel and understand and respect what is happening without having any idea what is being chanted is a testament to the amount of power and energy exuded by the haka. It is one of the most beautiful celebrations in the whole world.
Anything ACTING. I love both men, And would not expect for them to disrespect their audiences, their families or themselves by playing trashy roles like what you mention. Ewww!!!

The Oceans make up 3/4 of our planet -- all of us have much to learn from our Island cousins about respecting each other & caring for our environment. Jason Momoa, Dwayne "Rock"Johnson, President Obama & others are trying to teach & warn us of our responsibilities to the animals and Earth. I pray in this new year of 2019 that we listen!!
Beautifully written, I agree with you 100%!.
Awesome
So are those 7 groups Polynesian? I'm a lil confused. One of my buddies is an islander but he's from Guam. Is that more on the asian/ phillipine side
@Notre Aira dude if u want to then go make it happen im asian and i wanted to live in hawaii my whole life im choosing my careers with that being the end goal try ur best and do sth about it maybe u can move there too!!

Who the hell doesn't like this there's 487 of you fools. This is awesome and his kids are doing it with him.
We do have sick ppl kn this world that go against everything a family stands for lol just remember they are out there
ikd maybe they've never seen the haka before and don't know who Momoa is. Haha actually could you imagine some 80 yr old grandma somehow ending up here while trying to get to her email or something and just being so confused
The dumb asses who edit videos of Jason doing the Haka with his kids to make it look like something else are probably the haters. I hate those dumb asses they show up on social media with a crappy edited video and try and spread shit about Jason.
"We are not divided by land but connected by water", Aquaman said!
Best quote of 2018!
There is still hope for 2019!

I love the way Jason's kids are included in learning and embracing their Hawaiian culture! Good Job, Momoa's Family! Love you Jason!!
As an Aboriginals first Nation person 🖤💛❤️ here in Australia we will never forget our Mother Land nor Ancestors that watches over us. "POWER " ✊🏾 to all First Nation People from across the waters and faraway. Thank you for sharing Jason Momoa .
Now if you put jason momoa and the Dwayne '' the rock johnson together in a action movie will be epic to the MAX!! 🤩
That would be next level!!!

Don't forget my man Manu Bennett In that movie then it will be dynamite

TIINA
What haka did they perform? Do you know?
@@sparkeemelijah1322 the haka thats starts at 2:30 is kapa o pango, before it was a hawian tradition i assume not a haka.
Thanks for translate 🙏🏼 really thanks
There isnt 1 single insincere thing about this man that is what makes him so beloved and so full of joy and integrity at such a young age. It's like hes seeing everyone and everything for the first time, and like he's seeing everyone completely equally...no color barriers, no sociofinancial differences, just people, and he treats everyone with such pure kindness and respect. It's such a rarity anymore to see or meet anyone with this truly beautiful a soul.
It's simply living done right. Women want to be with him and men want to be him. Just a magnificent person.
The Rock is watching.....he knows he has alot to live up to in the promotion dept when he travels around the world for his King Kamehameha movie.
Or is it Tame'ame'a? Lol
He is warm and humble. Who agree?
Me
Just the freakn best!
Its beautiful to see more and more representation of different indigenous people. Different kinds of people have been recognized for their own movement in media but people indigenous or native to Polynesia among others are rising to the public eye when for centuries everyone wanted to hide them away and slaughter their tradition.
Ummm Dwayne Johnson and Jason doing the Hakka dance together with the tribe shit that would be the ultimate sight to see. But Jason bro this was powerful.
Wouldn't that be something to see!
Brooo, they would break the world and make it go error 404.
Jason you are like Man of the Year for me, spreading good vibes and happiness at a time when that is especially needed and important! Long may the Momoa-Mobile roll! Happy Holidays to you and yours! Peace!
I can just imagine everyone with Polynesian heritage, doing this in their living room, while watching this video. 🥰😍 blessings and Happy Holidays
This is neither my culture or my tradition, yet I have always found the haka impressive and already a crazy emotion.

I love that he is integrating Wolf and Lola into their culture.
I wonder if they know about their African American heritage too ( their mom is African American). It would make for good balance of cultural identity
SteadyNUnremitting As a South African we adopt our father's cultures. I am father is Xhosa and my mother is Tswana. I identify as Xhosa because of him. So it might be the same with the Polynesian culture too.
he has kids with lenny kravits’ ex wife?

Keone Jones That is why I said MIGHT, anyway Lola and Wolf are a quarter African American. Lisa doesn't seem to have a problem with the Polynesian culture taking precedence in her household.

Jason is destined to be the Aquaman.
Fake,.. aquanman comics don't have weird muscles and full bearded fear the moustaches kinna white superhero
His spirit is very pure. He is both ancient and new.

I was thinking of getting a Dwayne Johnson theme Polynesian tattoo out of respect for the Polynesian culture.is it disrespectful if I do? I'm Mexican by the way.
It was an honor watching them perform that. What a great tradition it must be to have these kinds of ceremonies.

I Love you Jason. Thank you for the dedication to Polynesians !! Much Love ❤️
My people, Micronesians, although not as popular as Polynesians, also come from a seafaring culture. FSM preamble: "To make one nation of many islands, we respect the diversity of our cultures. Our differences enrich us. The seas bring us together, they do not separate us. Our islands sustain us, our island nation enlarges us and makes us stronger."
And on a separate note, who are these 406 people that disliked this video?
Micros are weird.

Pacific Island people. I think the Samoans are most prominent. We carry against all cultures, even amongst the South Pacific ones. Family amongst all, but fiercely fa'asamoa.

I'm French Canadian, but 2nd generation immigrant so my family wasn't here when North America was colonized, but I'm really happy they made this show.

Best quote ever.... "We are not separated by land but we're all connected by water" ❤️
The fact that people not of polynesian decent can feel and understand and respect what is happening without having any idea what is being chanted is a testament to the amount of power and energy exuded by the haka. It is one of the most beautiful celebrations in the whole world.
