As Always. Love your Vessel and you and your Dad have a wonderful bonding which is awesome! I have been hoping to get away at some point in time and it would be a treasure to visit your boat and spend some time helping and enjoying the two of you at the same time! Could this be a consideration? Another great video on the refit of your fine ship. Regards PS I am a shipwright of 50 plus years and have had the pleasure of restoring many vessels throughout the past 50 plus years. Love sailing ships and motor vessels of all types and sizes, and have skills to share!
Thanks! Sorry for the late response. Depending on how busy we are at the time, a visit might be possible. We don't really need help at the moment :). We're just doing our own thing, without having to think of work for other people (We're both not very good at delegating)
Your project reminds me of my project, converting a potable water tanker to a self supporting house boat. Having ideas and fantacies that don't match the budget, you get les picky and more creative. Had exactly the same setup for the different power supplies! Considered using a selector switch for a PS and SB shore connection but left it out in the end for safety and simplicity reasons. Keep up the good work and have fun along the way.
Ah, not a dumb question at all. On ships like this, it's not uncommon that the wheel is facing forward, unlike what is common on yachts. This way, the helmsman can stand with his back towards the wheel and his face towards the compass. Only when looking at the charts, and in this case the plotter, the helmsman will stand behind the wheel, still being able to steer, reaching over the chart table. So, yes, I think you might be turned around, but I agree it looks odd when you're used to other boats :)
Nice helm wheel, its good he ship can pass inspection before its fully complete, most vessels are never fully done 🤣🤣. (private ones that is) Great update 2x👍
Esrly on I had doubts about the house interior. I see now it looks great. I actually uttered, Wow at 8:17 in the video. It looks great. To what psi will the hyd system be tested? Are the hyd lines at the wheel the original? (I always am cautious about such things. Its a defect in me. Haha) The simple solution in power is superb. No contact switch to go faulty. About as foolproof as can be. I like it! Thank you for these videos.
Thanks! To be honest, we also didn't know how it would turn out :) We're not pressure testing the hydraulic system. It is a very very ow pressure system, so there's no risk of it bursting. Just a small leak or sweat might occur, so we're observing the pressureless system for the coming weeks. The lines are original from the conversion from tugboat to sailing ship, so about 50 years old. The steering cylinders are still from newbuild, 80 years ago. Thanks! And no problem, feel free to ask whatever you want to know :)
Hey there, F.C. ! …also keeping track of the like minded ones too, right. 👍🏻 ( ‘m following your channel too 😊, Keep up the MASSIVE, but good work 🤙🏻) Capt. rob
When the changes are so gradual, it's hard to see what's happening (also for us), but it also feels like we've been busy for much longer than 1,5 years :)
Thanks! Most lines are standby in the forepeak, but we'll have to dig through that to check the state of 'em. That will be one of the last things to do before we go sailing, hopefully next summer :)
Ahh... High voltage and hydraulics... Systems I'm glad I'll never have to deal with on my boat. Also she was a tug in her previous life? You Dutch guys love turning random old commercial vessels into sailing ships
Eh, they're not so bad, although I think hydraulics should be kept to the bare minimum, too messy :) True, there just was an abundance of old (wartime) ships in the 60's and 70's, and plenty people who wanted a sailing boat. Some are still around.
I like the way you work, very neat and your processes are well thought out ❤
Keep up the good work!
JIM 🎉
Beautiful boat! We’re restoring a 65ft ketch.
Really nice work guys. Great channel
Greetings from Sydney, Australia! Nice boat, good work!
You guys are absolutely amazing in your technical skill and ingenuity! It's a real pleasure following your progress. Cheers, Capt. Klaas
Thanks so much!
"After all, simplicity is your friend on a boat." Exactly! The fancier you make things, the more that can go wrong.
Like the way you explain what you are doing
Great work,.. as usual 😊
It speaks of thoughtful actions and no - nice, but - unnecessary bling.
Keep up the pace 👍🏻
Capt Rob
Thanks! Bling is nice if it works, but usually a pain if it breaks down

Looking Very Good!....
Thanks!
After each video I'm already looking forward to the next one 😃
Na iedere video kijk ik al weer uit naar de volgende. 1😃
Thanks! Good to hear :)
Your ship is so cool 👍
Thanks!

Hahah good to hear that I'm not alone :)
Enjoy watching from the beginning .
This may be a dumb question but why is the chartplotter on the poop deck located where the helmsman cannot see it? Or am I somehow turned around?

Hahahah true that! I think the inspectors know that too :)
Dit was weer mooi om te zien👍⚓😊
Bedankt!

Always enjoying your videos! What inspection you have to pass? Is it the CVO or something different?
Thanks! Yess, talking about the CVO

What primer and top coat paint do you use ?
Red oxide primer, Epifanes Multiforte topcoat
It does not looked so on the videos, but you actully managed to do ALOT on your ship during the last months.

I presume you are going to have two generators, one main one and the other is a back up, are they both on 3 phase...
All true, we have a 25kVA and a 15kVA generator. Both 3 phase. Although the small one is up for replacement somewhere in the near future :)
@@tigersharkboatworks Ok, be interesting to see how you get the generators in there without pulling them apart

Thanks a lot for sharing - will Baby Shark be the tender for Tiger and where is Mami Shark??
You're welcome! Yess, Baby Shark will be the tender, so I guess Tigershark is the big momma :)
