- Belly manages to get Shane Watts to tag along and check out the 2018 WR offering from Yamaha, because when you want the best opinion on an off road machine who better to have than a world champ!
Shane used to be my neighbor here in nc. He gave me a lot of riding tips and we rode on each other’s property. Dude is rad. Much respect!
I had a chance to ride the WR250f platform for the first time and let me tell you...it RIPS! I rode it back to back alongside an XR250 and it was night and day. What a light, fun little ripper. Can't wait to get mine.
I have an 06 model 17000 kms and counting runs better then ever
Yep, I've been looking at one of these too and they're are really impressive too. Totally agree with not needing to add mods to your bike in most cases, just ride it better or go on a diet to shed some pounds
I swapped to one of these from a 17 KTM350, the Yamaha 250 is the best bike I have ever ridden! I get an easy 100Km of single track from a tank of fuel.
I have an 06 with almost 17000 kms on it and stills runs like a top doesn't burn a drop of oil everything stalk minus pipe valves touched 1 time.. crazy now I'm looking at a different bike and am having a hard time not geting a wr
Highly recommend you get an 18 model WR250F, you won't regret it! Already covered 5000 kms on mine, hasn't missed a beat and it's the lowest maintenance bike I've ever owned.
@@rroche0123 hey , I'm just wondering what it's intended use is , trails riding , enduro ... ?
Maverick John Mainly single track and enduro. This bike is easy and fast!
Robert Roche thanks man , I got mine second hand with 7000 km , its a absolute beast and joy to ride compared to my honda nxr 125 😂🤙🏻
Still ride my ‘03 wr250F haha, thing runs like a champ and I keep up with all the new bikes. Everyone always asks me if I want to sell it.....nope!
Wonderful review boys, I was considering one but i havent heard anything from any other source! cheers.
I’ve given up riding now, had the 06. Dam it was a good bike, can imagine how good this would be!
I’m about 6 foot and have had only about a year of riding experience would this be a good bike for me to go up to after having a crf 100F for a year?
YES but almost anything would. I am 5-10 and the crf100 is tiny for me
Taterly Saladman ah, I would love to buy this bike but I can’t afford it and I would have to get a loan and I don’t want to do that.
But it comes with an OHV title so I can’t plate it to run in open course enduros. Which is why I own a Beta that comes with an M title.
i like one as a single track weapon , that KYB just works , cost me a lot of money to fit KYB to my KTM500
Whats the diffrent beetwen fx and wr
Yamaha is the only Japan made Corp with fire.the other Japanese corporations don't give a shit about the man that wants a bush BIKE or woods bike. They only care about mx racing
Uh no I've seen Honda caring on there trail bikes but yes some Japanese brands only caring in mx
I was thinking about getting the wr450 for a first bike but not sure if will be to powerful and heavy any advice would be great cheers, great vid 👍
Hi Michael I would think the 250 would be a good bike for you as your first bike.
How many BWP does this have?
The thing is just so tall and 20 pounds heavy compared to the ktm 's , but it is thousands less and presumably, more reliable. Tough call. 350xcf or the wr. Then throw in the 2t ktm's.....
Wow so beautiful😍
Sounds like a good bike 👍
I really want one
Why this WR have a different light?
Australian model maybe?
Comes with the off-road kit
I like this front end more then the other ones
Still got a cable clutch and a tiny mx fuel tank ? If so no thanks
In India I need this bike plz tell me anybody saleing
Is this street legal?
Yes it is
Never won erzberg....great review
Throttle Shane never won erzberg. To your point, why dont the best ride 350's in extreme enduro that weigh less and make more power than this 250'f? Of course the very best would have no problem being faster on this thing than 95% of the off road racers out there. They are that good.
@@markmtbrider because the companies want them to ride 300's. And some of those riders do ride 350s at events
@@markmtbrider because those are the companies offering riders sponsorship packages in that sport. At the pro level that's all that matters, the bike doesn't because at the end of the day they all have to be set up to suit the rider. In other words, the bikes are far from stock. Using race results to pick which bike is better is probably the worst way to go about it. It works well in marketing but anyone who knows what actually goes on knows better than to do that.
No hydraulic clutch...its not for me
@Fatih aşkın no it isnt you can convert it later if you really want to, especially for a beginner rider it doesnt matter I doubt your gonna be feathering the clutch
@19fatih07 Not at all
