Picked mine up end of Jan. Love it!! Installed a full HGS system & dyno mapping @ Ciscos gave us 5HP in the mid and 2HP up top. Full diet, a new battery & with 3/4 tank of fuel and it weighed in at 106KG. Swapped out the rear spring to the next step lighter and its now PERFECT!
Have one also n hard to spend this kinda money on one when mine does just about the same thing I'm 60 so it's not like I'm out racing everyone but still smoking most young bucks out there
Hey could you tell me if you still dont regret the 450? Would you still get it again? Ive been on a wr250r for 6 years (Way different bike haha). Ive been thinking about a 2020 wr450f
What it would take to get me back onto a Yamaha 1. Throttle Cam, the constant radius throttle cam is 99% of the reason Japanese dirtbikes are "twitchy" in the slow rough stuff. After fitting a G2 throttle tamer to my WR450, it went from twitchy light switch throttle to smooth and usable power at all revs and situations 2. HYD Clutch, it's 2020 guys, come on 3. Midbore engine, the 300-350CC Engines offer a better mix of power and grunt that simply isn't attainable with 250s or 450s
i don't understand why bikes are still being made with cable clutches aye. especially enduro models where you are on the clutch all day. as for Yamaha its self i think they'd make some major changes for me to consider one. I ride a KX250F at the moment but while in Australia i rode my mates Husqvarna FE350. the think handled like a downhill bike, the power was smooth and useable, it turned on a dime and was really plush... then i jumped on my other mates YZ250F and it was horrendous, although actually lighter than the husky, it felt alot heavier, not a great deal of bottom end and wanted to stand up in the turns. coming from someone who's ridden Kawasaki for years, i really don't think you can beat the European bikes for Enduro style riding
Thumbless Turnip I’ve been racing the 2018 version for the last 2 years after riding KTM’s with hydraulic clutches for 5 years. You don’t notice the cable clutch AT ALL. It makes no difference whatsoever to the riding of the bike.
The Australians sure know how to do a proper review of a dirt bike. Good detail on how the bike performs in the conditions they rode it in. Years ago, in regards to print magazines, Dirt Bike and Dirt Rider mag in the US also did a good job with bike reviews. Unfortunately, it has been many years since they have written competent, or in better words, detailed reviews for off-road bikes. Nowadays Dirt Bike Magazine is more of an generic advertisement of a test bike that focuses too much on the technical or mechanical facts of a bike. Just my .02 cents.
I'm 45 yr old only 5'5" and used to race pony's as a 19yr old. Thinking of getting back into it and racing Pony's again in the NT where I live. Do you think this bike is a good choice? or should I get a 350 4 stroke KTM. I'm not a rank beginner, not a bad rider..
I take it the US version does not come with the Programmable ECU or map switch or the communication unit needed to connect to the ecu with the phone based app.
What maps are you guys running? Got the 2020 here in Canada and added the competition kit with the tuner app. So looking for some insight on tuning the thing

What's the fuel range for you? Thinking of getting one. My 350 gets around 140kms
@@krisschweikert3632 Hi, not sure sorry. Mainly riding tight single so its hard to measure but a lot less than my YZ250 2st.
This must be awesome, I used to ride a 2006 WR250F and that was an amazing bike. Most reliable bike I ever had, quick and handled great.
You'd love the new 2020!

Two thumbs up,one for the bike/video👍and one for the good dog at the end👍
Rode one in the Spanish mountains last year , awesome bikes 👍
Great bike I just rode a Yamaha YZ250F And it was amazing machine.
Great review.
The dog was a bonus 🙂
Grate bike i have the 2020 250fx and it is amazing
I've got the 2020 WR450F and I'm loving it! So far 43km on it but that's soon to change lol
Hey could you tell me if you still dont regret the 450? Would you still get it again?
Ive been on a wr250r for 6 years (Way different bike haha). Ive been thinking about a 2020 wr450f
I made the same 02 kdx200 > 06 wr250f switch. Although I still miss the kdx, pretty much everything about the wr is better.

that head lamp looks like the head lamps from the sport Suzukis from the 2000s
Wonder how many kms per tank it gets?
Hella cool pup man. I have a 14 yr old man pitty
Not sure if I should get the WR250f or 2020 yz 250fx
Honestly only get the WR for road rego, otherwise save the $$ and go the FX, subtle differences but essentially the same bike.

The bike looks awesome, but not as awesome as the dog 😂
Nice lookin bike, sounds like it will be a good one...
How do you like compared to a Ktm 250exc-f

Looking good Wigs!
So is Geoff!

Excellent
After dropping the forks what rider sag were you using with that?
No backup kickstart - and no option is the new norm now. 😒 GREAT Review tho and subscribed!
Furn333 Can’t jump start when you’re stuck in the mud with a dead battery. Fucking stupid that they don’t put a kickstart on if.
@@GarageMob if you’re riding with one other person they can jump start the bike doing tyre to tyre spinning
What handguards are those?
Is it electric start
pretty mint bike
You recomended this bike
That hat though 👍👍
Hydraulic clutch?
No.
Beta rr 390 2020 or the WR 2020?? Im selling my dead mothers house n buying a bike
Build a 300 or 350cc 4T please........
even an WR300-350R/X would get me to buy one. I think a 400-450cc for a 4T will fill the mid cc void.
12:26 Hey Mr... PET ME!!!!
The bike's cool but the dog's cooler ha ha ha
is it road legal ?
Not from the factory but it's very easy to convert.
@@clunacy They are fully road legal in Australia from new.
Had an late yr 04 ..should of never solid her..now Thier all I think of..
Wr 155 r indonesia 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ouch.. I think this bike can't hold a candle to the KTM 300 XC-W.. more power and lighter weight.
Yeah have fun waiting for your parts to come in after that Lamborghini breaks down
Essa é muito linda em a se eu pudesse e meu dinheiro desse
I got a crf250x it’s the same as this bike
Is this bike street legal?
Jr Foreman yes

Couldn't help but notice the ktm coming to destroy that yammy 😏
