Coming from a guy that only rode big bores for 10 years, I finally made the jump to this 22 model 250 and man I am more than happy with the power this little rocket puts out! Now I just need to learn how to ride it…
Love my 250 everyone puts shit on it before we start a ride but they soon change their opinion after you fly past them on the single trails or crawl past them up a big hill. Like you said you don’t really need all that extra cc
Bought one. I came off a KTM250 exc. Put a clutch weight on it- "traction disk" from South Africa, an Akro slip-on and I love it! We do harder enduro around Brisbane. Its like glue on the hill climbs. I was surprised!
That bike sounds like it’ll rev to the moon! I’m looking for a new bike right now & I still haven’t made up my mind between the Beta 200rr 2T, a couple of 350’s & the WR250 & CRF250RX or X. There are to many good smaller bikes for 2022.
No it dont rev to the moon. I was looking at a lot of bikes but only 2 made sense, which was the RR300 2t and this WR250F. I got the Yamaha cuz overall is a hell of a bike. Super comfortable can do it ALL bike and well yea its a Yamaha so super reliable compared to Beta
People always thinking bigger is better but TBH the most fun I've ever had riding has always been on a 250f. I thought my 2013 crf450 was fantastic but again I traded it in for a Husqvarna Fe 350f and that bike is by far the best bike I've ever ridden but I'm honestly really looking into these new Yamaha 250f's cuz they've got more than enough power with all the bells and whistles. I love 250s as they've got perfect power to weight ratio their way to ride easy on the arms and yeah I'm ready for a 250f again ✌️
I have the 22 WR450F. Is it overpowered? Yes, is a 250 underpowered? Not really but 90% of the time more than you need. Amazing bikes! Very good for so many disciplines. Big hill climbs with the other 450’s but also some soft/hard enduro with the 300 2strokes. Not the best at anything but very good at everything.
I have a 2019 CRF450X and I feel the same way about power. Just overkill for trail riding in the tighter stuff, but for Dual-Sport'ing it's perfect. Test rode a stock 2021 250F and fell in love with how nimble and forgiving it was in the bush. Yet, you could still play and ride aggressively.
Would you guys mind sharing your rider weight and height for these 250s?I'm around 200lbs probably 210 geared up. And just under 6ft. It's my understanding the chassis and ride height are about identical. Is there enough power to fling me over a tabletop and not bottom out suspension l...things like that. I'm in good physical shape, but just above beginner skill
Good work Blue Wiggle 😀So these bikes had a "competition bung" in them ? which is part of the offroad kit ? Sounds a little low on torque down low. Would like to see them focus a bit more on the bottom end.
Are these bikes uncorked? I just got a 2022 wr250f and I’ve been disappointed with the power. I keep seeing videos like this “oh the bike is fast, 150 mph blah blah blah” my throttle barely turns and it maxes out at 112km (69 mph) please help what am I doing wrong?
The mentioned "Competition bung". Which i think is in the offroad kit. Depends if you are in Australia or not. 112 is definitely very low. 130-140 used to be the top speed for most 250F enduro's, but the new ones having so much top end, I guess 155kmh is feasible.
Ok so I live in Canada so unfortunately the bike doesn’t come with any map settings or any tuners, they are another $500 and I simply don’t understand if I need the competition kit or the Yamaha gytr thing. However if anyone is in my situation do some free mods, take out the throttle stop screw and cut it to were the threads stop, pull out air filter and remove the snorkel, finally take out the baffle from the exhaust. I did all three of these and the bike finally put a big smile on my face! Lots of power lots of speed!
@@daltonmckinnon7264 yes, thats the problem with the US/Canadian model. You need to buy the CCU/ECU and Map button.. where is Australia its standard on the bike, on top of getting a new muffler..
I’ve got a 21 model 450, other than the power it’s astounding how similar the descriptions of the 22 250’s characteristics are to the big boy. Oh yeah those grips are crap. Mite go buy some Pro Tapers today 👍

These modern 250F's are so underrated in my opinion.
Because they crank all the time

After a back injury selling the 450 mx bike and looking for a 250 to ride trails and this is at the top of the list if a ride again

I’ve been off dirt bikes for around 8 years now, are these still a cable clutch?
I had the 2006 and it was incredible, this would be amazing.
Yessir still cable clutch
Do you think there would be much drama with flame outs in more technical , hard enduro ?
Its an MX bike with lights. I just bought one. They need a heavier flywheel
