Hey hey 👋🏽 thanks for watching. If you'd be up for me doing a two-weekly vlog of what life looks like with my hair care routine, drop a blue heart in the comments.
Your page was recommended to me and it feels like I was meant to see it bc I’m on the same journey! Wishing you much success on your hair growth goals 💙
@@cerealis_5432 wow, well welcome!!! And shout out to the person who recommended the channel lol. Thanks and the same for you too, excited to hear of your growth ☺️
@@Natural2020_ your video actually came up as a recommendation randomly from my notifications on my Home Screen! Probably bc I’ve been watching a lot of natural hair content lately trying to get my hair right/in better shape after a trim (leaving my hair alone for tooo long 😅) but it’s funny bc I had never seen your channel beforehand and I’m not sure if I would’ve came across it otherwise. Either way I’m grateful I’m here and can’t wait to see your progress :)
When people say to leave your hair alone, that aren't saying you shouldn't take care of it. They're saying you shouldn't constantly be styling and manipulating your hair, applying great, etc. People who say to leave your hair alone have almost exactly the routine you demonstrated in your video - simple, not too many products, low manipulation. You are doing exactly what they are saying for people to do.
Heya, if that's what is meant then I do agree with that. Thanks for sharing. I guess as long as it's explained well then that's fine. One phrase I've heard and I agree with is 'Low manipulation, not no manipulation'.
@Natural2020_ Sure thing. Glad I could help. The whole "leave your hair alone" think started in response to "hand-in-hair syndrome", which was prevalent in the natural hair community about 10 years ago. People were always twisting for that twistout or braiding for that braidout - while trying to make the style so defined that they eradicate any evidence of their natural texture instead of letting their natural hair shine through. So excited for you journey. You're doing great! 💖
@@malindarayallen ah that's interesting! I actually have hands in hair syndrome but not in that way lol. I have a badddd habit of "detangling" my nape hairs/kitchen. To the point where I just start pulling them out. Argh, it's annoying. But in general, I quite enjoy plaiting or twisting my hair for two weeks and not having to thnk about styling it again, it's great for me! Lol.
@@Natural2020_ I like playing in my hair too. Part of why I wear mini braids is that they take a long time to take down, so I'm not tempted to restyle all day every day. 😸
I'm so glad about what you said about leaving your hair alone. I just can't leave my hair alone either. I manipulate less but if it feels dry I moisturize it. 💙
@@TonishaAmos I'll aim to do that over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I remember to whip my camera out whilst I'm on the go. Aw thank you. I dusted my ends at the end of the year, so I hope it stays looking thick and healthy lol.
@@TiarreaB.Naturally ahhh Tiarrea, I can't wait! Lol. How is your hair journey going? And your channel in general? I love how active you are in your community tab.
💙 my routine is somewhat similar. i will rock a twist out friday thru sunday and remoisturize on sunday night of a non wash day week but my wash day is more in depth. My hair is a lot finer and low density so just twists is not my cup of tea but hair is retaining length. Love to see more of your journey!!
@lloving0 I work from home and get to be off camera but if I had to go into an office I would do flat twists and if you hair is long enough tuck into a bun in the back. Deemed more "professional and elegant" in the corp space although my disposition is they are gonna get this natural hair however I want to rock it!
@@msjaejontelle love this conversation ladies. The natural hair vs corp world is a myth. I do work in an office but it's certainly not a "corporate job or atmosphere". So even when my twists were really short and stubby, I just about managed to stretch them into two canerows and make a tiny bun at the back.
Amazing! Love to hear that your hair is retaining length with your routine. Twist out on the weekends... ok sis let loose now 😂. Nah that's a good idea because it give you a chance to have your hair out. I'll definitely drop a vlog type vid for you. Thanks for commenting 🥰
Hey Sis👋💕 Your hair is looking lovely! Your routine is as simple as it gets! I love that. I THOUGHT mine was simple! 😅 For the most part it is: detangle, wash, treatment, condition, then twist up and plait to dry. The next day when my hair is 90% dry, I moisturize then twist and plait it back up, and I’m done. I’ve settled on washing every two weeks. I’d love to see a week in your hair. 💙
@@A_Wilson Thank you 😊 Yours doesn't sound too long and laborious either so that's good and replating/twisting when dry is a lot easier and quicker. Two weekly washing is a nice sweet spot I find. Thanks for the feedback I'll work on doing a vlog type video for you 🥰
I think two weeks might be the sweet spot for me too, as I’m seeing how scalp health is important. What was your verdict on hair grease? Were you using it in conjunction with the oil, or just after your aloe Vera spray alone? I’m considering getting rid of my hair cream and just using grease mixed with oil. 😅
💙 Really following your haircare routine. A friend brought me back some natural Jamaicans castor oil. I can definitely tell the difference. Today, I made cloves, rosemary, and mint spray for my hair. I would like to see wash day routine and products you use. If you already have a video, can you link it in the comments? Please. Thank You
@@victoriousone48 Ok I'll plan to do a vlog type vid for you. I don't have any videos of me physically washing my hair so technically what you've seen in this video is my washday routine 🤣😅 very simple and underwhelming I know. Literally just get straight under the water with my twists still in, shampoo, spray aloe vera juice and continue as you've seen in this video. Occasionally I'll pre-poo or deep condition.
Such juicy twists and beautiful hair! 😍😍😘😘Do you have a Jamaican heritage? I ask because you said 'cane row.' You are already hair length goals so I can't wait to see you at waist length which I am certain you will achieve because you take care of your hair. 💙💙
Haha, yes my dad is Jamaican. I didn't even know canerow was the Caribbean term. Aww thank you, I must admit, it is great to see my hair reaching lengths it's never reached before. Excited for you reaching your goals too 🎉

@@nicolemetoyer4839 oh I think I changed my partings since then because I blow dried my hair last week. But I think I have a short on my channel where I counted how many twists I had.
