Great to hear that. The 28-200 is also a beast for the price. I think it's the best sports lens if you are shooting outside stuff and you are on a budget, and then one you want the most versatile lens on the market, the Tamron 35-150 is it! It's worth every penny!
nice review thanks, I am a Hybrid shooter as well, been looking at that Sony a7iv camera and various lenses. This one looks nice. Has anyone else notice the text says TAMPON a few times? lol I caught it. lol
Amazing work, and fantastic content! I am new to your channel, but you mentioned making longer videos. Believe me when I tell you, I have watched 20+ minute videos about specs and nonsense about this lens lol. I would have loved seeing 20+ minutes of footage from you with this lens. Excited to watch part 2 and don't be worried about video length, you deserve to be heard!
Appreciate that feedback seriously man. I’m really trying to find my way on making shit that’s not boring lol. I got some stuff coming out man. Let me know if there’s anything you can think of that would be a good video. Appreciate you turning in 🏁👍🏾🤜🏾
It can't be appreciated enough how that lens was able to back all the way out to 35mm on that end zone catch. Nothing else could have followed and framed that play so well.
Yep, it's definitely suitable for sports. I got the lens last year when it was released and I hadn't shot sports in the last year due to covid protocols, so I sold my 70-200 GM1 to justify the cost. Well wouldn't you know it that I was asked to shoot soccer games a couple of weeks ago and the Tamron was my only far-reaching lens. It actually performed better than I had expected! I shoot RAW and in APS-C mode on the a9. Although I may have to crop dramatically in editing for play on the opposite side of the field, I have a full frame image for when the ball was kicked to my side of the field. Just having that versatility alone is game-changing!
I also balanced it on the RS2, but I used the lens holder/strap thing and the super smooth setting. It works well, but only as well as you're able to carry it around. Maybe to impress a client, but otherwise a bit too heavy for me...
Loved the video! There's one thing that I really need to know and I can't find anyone talking about it. Let's imagine you are filming and you set your lens at f2.8 at 35mm for the purpose of having a constant f2.8 zoom all the way through out to 150mm. Have you noticed any exposure "steps" as if the lens would be ajusting the aputure mid zoom in to compensate? Or does the lens go from f2.8 at 35mm to f4 at 150mm? Kind of a very important factor for me for deciding if I should buy the lens. PS: A slow zoom would show this "steps" frequent in older lenses more easily (if there are any).
Hey Bera first all thanks for watching the video. I wanna make sure I answer right to what your asking... As far as zoom if you set the camera to 2.8 in my case on the Sony A1 and zoom in our out the aputure does not change. Again setting it to 2.8 in Manual mode in my case I have no seen it change while zooming in or out. As for going to F4 at 150 I don't see how that would happen the highest it would go would be 2.8 if you have it set to 2.8 since it a F2-2.8.... hope that helps boss. take care
I just got back in to photography and am shooting youth football and I want to shoot hybrid since video has such a huge impact on social media these days. I tried the Tamron 70-180 and while it's a great lens, I found that on my Sony A7IV I was standing really far away to frame in certain scenes prior to the ball being snapped and also had issues when trying to capture sideline action near the endzone. Being able to go down to 35mm will be huge, so I've got the 35-150 on backorder at Mike's Camera down in Lone Tree. I probably won't get it before the football season ends, but it'll be great for winter indoor sports.
Youth Football is still one of my favorite things to shoot, the little guys always have fun. 35-150 is really a good range in sports. I used the 70-180 and liked it as well but I'd rather have a 70-200 if I had to choose. I think you will be really happy with the versatility it give you. Happy shooting man. Thanks for watching the video appreciate it!
@@LemarGriffinfilms I just got the lens and wow is it heavy and that zoom ring doesn’t like to move very easily seemingly because it’s sealed so well.
