That's a very resonant tele. Bassmans always bring out the true nature of any guitar. You will never hear a strattiier strat than through one of those, for example.
Well, I just bought a Bassman. Had a lead on one and watched all your videos last week, to get my mind around it. I have a 50 watt Marshall with a 4x12 cab in my living room, but this bassman totally freaks me out in its sound dispersion. I might need a PS-2 now lol. BTW: this Thinline Tele sounded sound rich and chimey, my favorite from this set. It really stood out in your alnico speaker shootout video as well. I have Brit Daniel Thinline but now I'm added this model to my search list. :)
Congrats on an epic purchase!! And thank you for the kind words! I just got a harness to use this with the PS100, probably doing a video on that at some point but first impressions pretty good
Congratulations on getting the Bassman! I had the same reaction when I bought mine. I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to own one! They’re great amps! After owning it for a few years, I still just look at it sometimes and remember how lucky I am to own it.

Hey brother, I have a question for you. I only have about maybe 20 hrs of light playing on the original caps on my 1990 Bassman RI, and the amp still sounds great and is very quiet, no hum at all. But only thing is they say these Illinois caps are like the worst caps ever, and that when I first fired it up after sitting in the box for 20 years, (around 2009 that it was first turned on) that I should have brought it up slow on a variac. Do you think I should change them out for good caps, or just leave them until I start to have problems with them? Also do you think it’s a job I could do myself? I can solder very well and I’m pretty mechanically inclined, but it’s a little intimidating with the circuit boards. The thing is, there is no one around me that does amp service, and no one I would trust anyway. It’s not cost effective to ship it to someone who does know what they are doing, so I pretty much got to do it myself if I want it done. Thanks for reading my long post, and your opinion.
@@bluesvillestation If it's quiet and no real hum you're fine, I wouldn't sweat it. Those caps aren't good, that's true, but if it's working it's working don't overthink it. Recap job isn't too hard, but you have to make sure you know how to be safe / discharge the caps and be careful not to damage the PCB.
damn dude... thing sounds awesome. Please do one with Humbuckers soon. I just got that Amplified Nation ODR, and I think my brown Super and Vibrolux sound way better clean. This video is not good for amp OCD... I need a bassman now.
What are the tone stack component values? Specifically, the value of the slope resistor and bass tone capacitor? How is the presence pot wired? The original 58/59 way with a 5kOhm pot, 0.1mfd cap, and 10K tail resistor or the later 59/60 version with 25kOhm pot, 0.1 mfd cap, 4.7kOhm bypass resistor, and 6.8kOhm tail resistor. If you are using a 12AX7 in V1 (sounds it, if you are playing with the volume set to 4 or 5), you should replace it with a 12AY7 as per spec and plug into both high level normal and bright channel inputs with a Y-cable and set volume levels per taste.

@YeatzeeGuitar Sorry. Not interested in wading through 70+ minutes of videos to find the answers to questions you could have answered in 5 minutes. Enjoy your Bassman and I'll continue to enjoy the exact clone I built.
Posted out of order, if you want your money back let me know 😂

Me neither. Honestly the one I bought kind of fell into my lap.

Wow. Great sounding, great playing also. This series is really doing a bang up job elevating the 59 baseman on my bucket list amp list.
That's the end goal, raise the value on the amp so I can flip it 😆 (i kid)
Killer!❤
Sounds great!
Sounds great thank you !!!
Thanks for taking the time to listen!
sounds amazing. thanks.
I can send you more guitars to try or on second thought it might just be easier to send the amp to me!

Do you really ever think you will get a bad sound from this beast. I don’t! 👍🏻
