Which model is this? Awesome video guys!
Here are all the specs and the story of this tele: ua-cam.com/video/zPRCNB8YC_U/v-deo.html

Nice!

@@ezsmith3765you good buddy?
he has a playlist with 200 videos of bigfoot i don't think hes fine unfortunately@@Tjam1
14:35 this was simply the smoothest E to drop D change I have seen in my entire life. Hats off!
A really simple design which gives you 3 killer tones full of character and soul. Leo Fender is the greatest guitar designer ever.
Kind of wild that two guys who didn't even know how to play guitar basically designed the most iconic guitar body styles and had major influences in the tech involved for all guitars (Leo Fender and Ted McCarty for Gibson)
@@nathanbrisebois8756 So true
Sounded awesome in every section. Can’t wait for the strat video. Well done guys
have 3 tele's from cheapest to high end , amped through 65 twin reverb with numerous pedals, they will make almost any tone you want. sometimes you just have to have twin humbuckers to get what you're after. so i keep several others but teles are my favorite.
I love Kris's playing, but Guillaume's slide was just awesome. Well done.
Thank you so much Hugo, I really appreciate it 🤗//G
Indeed! That slide tone was wonderful... I need to do that with my Tele now!
@@gonzalomunoz9194 I think that they don't have any Guillaume's in stock right now. Maybe in 6 to 8 weeks.
I love my Tele . I find so many tones just by way of pick up position , tone & volume control and how I attack the strings with my fingers or pick. It isn't the grandaddy of electric guitar for nothing. Great post guys 😎
I played strats for 30 years but recently borrowed a friends tele- OMG! I love it! The bridge pickup is what I z always dreamed of in my strats and the neck is another level. The tone pot is so useful. And yes the middle position is killer. I’d pick up a tele as first choice fur and “blind” gig or session. Great video thanks
The middle position on a tele is way underrated. They are also much more versatile than I used to think! Some great tones here.
Totally agree. I've always wanted a Strat, and played some cheap versions (not Fender) before. Than once i decided to get a real deal and just stumbled upon the Tele and just loved it. Since than its been my main guitar for any kind of playing and style (well, almost). But you can definitely get away with ONLY tele with a great match of amp and very few pedals.
Perfect for Midwest Emo
@@devinftf thats the reason i bought a tele lol
i know most people get a tele for the bridge and same here i was really attracted to it for that bridge sound but the middle position is sooo nice i'm starting to use it more and more.
@@devinftf Lol, still keeping the dream of 2004 alive 🤣
Always been a fender guy (Strats) and have in the last few years fallen in love with teles. Straight into an amp, mine are a 5e3 (tweed deluxe clone) and a 5W tweed champ, no pedals, everything is basic and the Tele is just a true balls out guitar. I've never felt so conscious about my playing before but with a Tele you kind of hear your shortcomings, not sure if it's just me
There’s an old saying; “you can’t tell lies on a Telecaster”.
It’s true about getting out of a Tele what you put into it.
That being said, there are many pickup variations that change what a Tele sounds like and what you can get out of it.
The simpler the setup (guitar included), the more my playing shortcomings come forward. My experience at least.
THIS may be, IS .... the BEST vid that I have ever seen on what to do with a telecaster. Thank you !
I got my first Tele just 3 months ago. A Squire Thinline Cabronita. It has a pair of Jazzmaster pickups. Plays like a dream and sounds rich and gorgeous.
Just another reason why Thomann is so amazing. Music for everyone. And soo cosy and relaxed approach. Keep it up!
Sounds excellent, superb playing - a tele, the guitar for any occasion!
Wow. The Riviera paradise brought on the tears..the tone is nothing short of awesome.. bravo kris. You are an amazing musician..thank you for this video I really enjoyed it..god bless. I see now why you favor the telecaster so much..
Great video! I’m always blown away at how many different styles and sounds can be covered by a Tele. I don’t really use anything else in the studio, and I’ve had artists scoff when I show up to a session with nothing else… They always change their opinion after we’re done. You really can get nearly every sound out of them as long as you know how to use them and know how to dial in your tones.
100% I've had this so many times: looking for the best sounding guitar for a certain part. Pretty much regardless of the style and the amount of gain it's mostly the tele. 🤷♂️
Cheers man //Kris
Surely you know you can do same thing with every different type of guitar.
@@chucklee347 Hah, why doesn't the government just issue us all with one type of guitar because they can all do the same thing? (Why are you even on this channel if that's the case..)
Probably the very best demo I have ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you!
Great video and your playing was really good - both of you. The tele is so versatile and sounds killer...
This was a really great video, guys. Nice job and such awesome playing.
Awesome guys! I am currently having a love affair with my "Tele-Style", we've been going out for about 2 months and are Very happy indeed. You can do so much more than with my Gibson LP. Not that I don't love her too, you understand. Keep up the great work guys.
Telecasters are so versatile and reliable. I was a stratocaster fanboy but starting with 2013 I switched to telecasters and that's my main axe since then. Curently owning a Fender Custom Shop 51 Nocaster that sings. Cool video!
I have a similar background. I've been all about strats from 2010 until I got my first tele in 2015... haha! Congrats on your 51, I bet it's a killer guitar. //Kris
Watching you playing everything with tele I complete as a person!
always a great episode... very interesting and amazing !! killer tone and with slide superb ! great job
Just ordered one… I freakin love Teles! ❤️
They really are great, it's amazing how leo got it so right the first time all the way back then!
Love this video
Guillaume I loved your solo playing in this video
Kris thanks for the tone knob advice ( re gain)
I’m off to try it !
🤘👍
Always great to share information on getting tones….Strat, YES!
Amazing and soulful!!! Tab is the best!
DO A STRAT VIDEO!!!! Thanks for sharing these tips. They are great to bring to band practice and creat new sounds with gear I already have. Thanks so much!
You got it Brent, thank you so much for watching and the strat video will come soon!! //G
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses awesome!!! Thanks!!!
Great video guys!!! Loved it. Learned a lot
Amazing video, thank you guys!
Cool vid, guys!
I really dig that aproach, just using one guitar and getting the most versatile sounds out of it.
I'd really like to see this with an SG and an Explorer. In my opinion the Exlorer is quite underrated when it comes to versatility. It's so much more than your typical metal axe. Love the clean tones of a vintage Explorer, as well as the ones of an SG, as long as it has the right (PAF style) pickups in it.
Hahaha guys ! I knew it was about to come...a video about telecaster...Kris you deserved it and it was so nice and fun to see the sparkles in your eyes 😃
Another great video, I was nearly thinking to buy a Telly after hearing your playing....but suddenly I realized I’m playing bass now 😬
Thanks , have fun and take care!
I’m looking forward to see your next video
Nice work and thanks for the tips!
My Wampler Euphoria (smooth setting) does wonders with the mid switch position for sweet singing blues. I played Strats for years, but have gone over to the Tele side. Very nice job on showing what a Tele can do.
Kris,
Ah yes. Finally the return of the great Kris Tele. Honestly, is there anything the Tele can't do?? I do love the Strat as well but Kris on his Tele are the sounds rock concerts are made of. Thanks for another great show. Thomann is #1.
A Telecaster for me is the perfect rhythm guitar because it retains a very prominent clarity and rich and bright tone that has less electronic overdriven sound that you receive from high gain pickups.
The sound of a Tele is like a acoustic guitar that has a electric pickup.
For lead it's very excellent but you will not have the major gain of a humbucler that compromises clarity and tone by extra response and drive.
Great video guys! Very informative.
Enjoyed this a lot guys!
The OG. Of course. 💁♂️ Superb playing from both of you guys. 💯👌
I put a Tele pickup on an Eko acoustic in 1970 & gigged with it solo in cafes. It was great!!!!!
awesome, just bought my first guitar after using my dads, so stoked with my choice, tele player series i love it
I love the simplicity and functionality of the Telecaster. Hands down the Stratocaster for the perfect design as far as comfort and playability.
Such a great idea for a video. I’m going to watch it again and take notes for future reference.
I have fitted a 5 way switch to my TE-80 NT Deluxe and with some creative wiring I now have even more tone choices as follows.
5. Neck in series with a 1000pf capacitor LOWFI
4. Neck and bridge HOOP (half out of phase) GREENY LES PAUL.
3. Bridge
2. Neck and bridge parallel
1. Neck
1. neck + cap in series dumps a lot of low frequencies to ground which gives it a kind of distant, almost Lo-Fi kinda sound. Like it's being heard through an old 40's wireless with a 6" speaker.
2. The neck and bridge HOOP is almost like the 'Greeny Les Paul' out of phase sound but not as drastic. Adds a little bit of 'quack' which is really cool.
The pickups have been replaced for:
Dimarzio FS-1 bridge pickup
Iron Gear Vintage 6TS neck pickup
Also CTS pots with CDE tone capacitor and 50's wiring.
AT 10:50, i love the way how Kris nods with a satisfied smile on his face
Haha, I mean that was it. That was THE tone right there. 😅
Great video, recently acquired my first Tele and I've been really impressed by the range of tones I can get from it, and that's all without having the chops you both have, great playing gents.
Tele is all U need
great amazing tones, i love playing teles
Wonderful playing real good advice. Looking forward to the Strat and Les Paul!
Great video! Since my main guitar is an L5 and my back up is a tele, getting rich sounds can be a bit of a process especially at a session where you don't have pedals or sometimes control over the amp settings. Love to see a video with NO pedals- just a cable, amp, & guitar. Getting the tone perfect first with the guitar, amp, and touch or tone from the fingers alone. I think you two could really add to that discussion and offer a lot of advice.
As a dude who just bought a tele and fender blues junior, this is what I need
I'm a big Tele player and that one is amazing! Great video guys :D
YES ! Amazing vid. Thank you !
nice playing. very impressing.
beautiful! Bought an American Tele a year ago and it's all I needc
Dream Team - Kris and Guillaume. Very sympathic and good players, they have fun together and it brings fun to us. And a smile . And of course the Telecaster is THE Guitar . You can play everything with Tellie like Kris show in other clips. Reggae with Les Paul ? hhmm possible but not really my cup of coffee
Well that was loads of fun. Great work!
The Telecaster is a real workhorse. You can play Everything, from Jazz to Metal.I have the Player Series Telecaster.Amazing Guitar, combined with a Full Moon Distortion and the Hotrod it's the perfect Sound for me.
Yes! Please! More videos on more guitars!
Of course, the Tele's bridge pickup is magic and is the main attraction for many. However, the Tele's neck pickup is equally as fine and can do lots of magic as well. Overall, the Tele is magic in every position. It can do it all and better than most. The early blackguards are particularly fine.
I couldn't agree more. Thanks so much for the comment! //Kris
If you just roll the tone off, it's great for a jazz context.
Love hear strat sounds come out of that tele!
Kris, thanks for posting this video I really appreciate your time and effort in making these videos. I mostly play a Les Paul but I recently got a American Professional Pro ll Telecaster so now I am watching a lot of T-Style videos to learn about tones and settings and this is a great video. My favorite videos from you is when you play your Custom Shop Les Paul - maybe day I will get one. Thanks again.
Hey Tom, so glad to hear this, thank you! :) Those Professional Pro II's are just sooo good, congrats man! I'm sure you'l have a lot of inspiring moments with that sweet tele. Cheers //Kris
Great choice of album in the background, obviously just for show!
🤔……yes! This was very well done - looking forward to future vids featuring the Strat, Les Paul, & the SG. The Telecaster is my personal favorite guitar - John 5’s Tele tones (not to mention his insane customs) are insane (“Crank It” for example)…
For a lot of people that don't play a Tele, they don't like them...until they play one! I was a die hard Les Paul person, and never wanted a Tele. I found a cheap Squier bullet tele, and now I have 4 of them. One is a Tele Deluxe. LOL The best part about the Squier Bullet is it's thin and light. Swap out the tuners, pots, and pickups, and you have a really light Tele that's pretty cool. The Classic Vibe series is a good guitar for the money.
Sounds amazing, I have a tele and a strat love them both equally.
Great video! Love the sound of your tele!
First guitar was a tele and my last will most likely be one. Love em!
Definitely want to see more of this series: Strat, LP/335, P90s (maybe LP Junior), Filtertrons.
I'm curios what was the other thing that Guillaume wanted to show at 11:33. Was it slide guitar?
Tasty playing from both of you guys. really enjoyed it (esp. the jazzy and slide parts). Can't wait for the next video :)
Hey Adrian thank you so much! And yeah that other thing was slide playing, but I got my moment later ^^ We''ll get on to the other models soon then if you enjoyed that one :) //G
Amazing how versatile the Tele is. I always kind of seem to overlook it for some reason. Strat and ES-335 please
The Tele paired with my Rat 2 by Pro Co, produces my favorite sound. Excellent video by the way guys.
Great video, thanks! I'd definitely like to see the same video but with something like ES-335.
Loved it!! Definitely a Strat, 335 and LP video. And it would be interesting one with a shredding machine like an Ibanez or similar.
Fender's new Player Plus Nashville Telecaster truly will do (nearly) everything. It's awesome! 😎
Having a more versatile Tele helps even more .My Vintera 60s modified has 4 way switching for series/parallel and an S1 push/push on the volume knob to go in and out of phase.A game changer for me and might be the best value Tele you can buy .
Riviera paradise!!! Wasn’t expecting that. Nice!
These are great demos. I need a deeper grasp of these topics.
Tele is king gentleman. The versatile tones are incomparable. Best guitar ever made
👏👏👏👏👏 Muy interesante, gracias. Thanks, guys!!
Damn that warm jazz tone is beautiful! Nice work!
agreed!
You guys are so much fun to watch haha! Please do the Strat video too!
Fantastic guys please do more it’s great to see a new chemistry between you both working so well.
Let’s do a Sg tone????
Thanks Murray, I'm in! Let's SG up the studio soon! 💪 //Kris
There is an amazing connection that goes on between Kris and a Telecaster - to me, that is always THE main thing and something which happens naturally, and organically, it can not be faked. I am a tad biased towards Telecasters. Not that I believe any particular style of guitar is superior over the rest ( great guitars just seem to find guitar players who bring out the best in them ) I adore Stratocasters, in the right hands they are astounding guitars but in my hands ... nah ! lol. Guillaume, I would say, has that same natural connection with a Strat. Me, I feel most at home with an Epiphone Casino - I just love the combination of thin-line hollow body with P90's. Such an organic sound, Really enjoy you two fellas and these great videos. Thanks x
Thanks so much Peter! So much wisdom in your words. If a player connects with a guitar, well... that's what it's all about, isn't it? I bet that Casino sings! //Kris
Amazing! Strat and Les Paul!!
Absolutely want to see that strat video!
Definitely wanna see the Stratocaster video! It's one of the most iconic guitars ever! Also, as some other comments say, it would be interesting to see a P90 guitar, something like a LP Special or Junior, or even a Yamaha Revstar, those guitars seem pretty cool! In general, Rhett Shull and other youtubers call them some of the most versatile guitars out there, and it would be nice to see that put in practice!
Thanks a lot! We are more than happy to showthe P90 some love in this series. We both own guitars with P90s and we both love them a lot. Let's gooooo! :)
//Kris
I enjoy my Nashville telecaster with three pickups you get Strat & Tele tones. It is the best of both worlds.
Same here.
Love this kind of presentation. In fairness the strat sould be next.
Thanks
Thanks! To be fair, I don't think I have an other choice. haha! It's gotta be the strat next. //Kris
Great vid!
Great video - thankyou. Was surprised not to see something about getting a country sound...
I dont even like Jazz but that 'warm gritty jazz blues' just gave me shivers.
Haha! I'm also not the biggest jazz fan, but a good old warm, gritty, jazzy tone is magic. I usually play chilled, moody stuff and blues with it. //Kris
That jazz progression @ 6:00 was unreal
Thanks Sam! That was SRV. It's one of those songs, right? :) Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses but what song? This is beautiful!
@@nicolasconceitto it’s Riviera Paradise from the album “In Step”
Great Video! I'm using the D20 with a Palmer Cab too😁🤘love it!
Good choice Markus! Thanks for watching :) //G
that jazz was soooooooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i like it
Awesome! And even when I think nothing is going to beat that Tele, I still want you to do it with a Strat, a Les Paul, a 335 and a Jazzmaster.
And an SG
335 is hard to beat.
Everyone is hip to the ionic Tele bridge pickup, however, some years ago I discovered that the neck pickup contains an entire universe of sounds that seems to propel the Tele into an entirely different and equally excellent guitar.
It's much like the Strat's middle pickup. Like the Tele's sadly abandoned orphan neck pickup, too many players ignore it as a sole option except to use it in conjunction with the bridge or neck pickup in the 2 and 4 in between "out of phase" (by not really) positions.
I am fortunate to have had and still have many fine guitars to play as I wish. Even so, I often go to my Tele (it's' a real '52, BTW), and even unplugged, it gets right into my soul. That's as much as anyone can ask of an instrument.
I actually find myself using the neck pickup for a lot of my playing. May be my particular model (Chrissie Hynde model) but with the use of the tone and volume knob, and either a clean boost or compressor, you can get a ton of variation. For leadish and funk/power chords for rock the middle position with tone back towards center either plus or minus a position works great.
Man, my neck pickup sounds so muddy. This is my second Tele. I can't really use it for my kind of playing, which to sum it up on that pickup would be blues rock like Stevie Ray. I have some awesome neck pickup sounds on my strats. I've worked hard to get the right pickups. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Love it. Great players too.
Thanks so much Jon! //Kris
Yes do a strat video too. Great video guys 👍
Saugeil !!! Klasse Video !!!
I have a 1981 Squier made in Japan Stratocaster with a custom made real tapped bridge pickup and a mod to enable the bridge and neck pickup to be out of phase, this pickup selection is my favourite tone full stop, it is the peaches and cream of guitar tones!
I also have an MIJ Squier strat that the previous owner put Lollars in and wow!
Are you sure it's 1981? Squier guitars were first sold in 1982.
@@thelegendaryundertakers4856 yea I think so as I was gifted some money by my parents when I completed my exams in 1981 and used the money to buy the guitar although it is quite possible that I waited some time before buying the guitar, one thing I am quite sure of is that I had never heard of Squire guitars before I bought it, and was confused that Fender were selling a guitar that was cheaper than the main brand but that guitar sounded better to my ear than the Fenders in the store
Nashville tele with middle strat pick up are absolutely Versatility killer !
Fender Player Plus Nashville are really awsome to play !
Awesome gear
