      Try to understand what the loss of Paul and Joey did to them on a personal level. I understand where you are coming from, but you cannot let your feelings Try to define someone else's. Not a day goes by that the guys don't miss Paul and Joey or talk about them and reminisce the time they had with them. Really chew your thoughts to the core and try to put yourself in their mindsets. They weren't just band members, but a family that bonded on very deep levels.

We have been 9 the whole time and we will keep it 9 to carry on the legacy of their work. I grew up obsessed with Slipknot, the older I got, I started to see it more as a business than a Metal band.
    They did Joey dirty who without they'd be nowhere close to where they are now. Especially since he was suffering with a form of MS.
    The whole Chris firing did nothing but prove to me that there's certain members who are running it like a business.
    I still love the band but the way things get handled annoy me as a fan.
    It's been over a year and I still get sad knowing Joey isn't with us, I loved that dude.

      I'm with ya guys. I'm 35, Joey changed my vision on playing the drums, they changed my life. I've been playing for 24 years and if I would have never heard and got into the self-titled album my life would have been 180° different. Joey and Paul were slipknot, clown is the business man which the more I think about it the more his mask fits. Corey is an added talent that became the face, I really wanna know how many of my favorite songs were actually written by Joey or Paul, as far as I'm aware they were the writers.

      Disgusting how Slipknot turned into a mainstream sellout metal band.

    • @B_COOPER
      @B_COOPER Рік тому

      After Paul died, the band all agreed upon not letting that ever happen again. Joey physically could not play anymore, his disease hindered him for a few years. You might think they just dropped him the very second that they did, but no that’s not the case. Slipknot even tried slowing down their tempo at live performances and Joey was still struggling because his multiple sclerosis was running its coarse. If you’d get over what you think you know about something you absolutely do not, then there wouldn’t be a this false narrative that Slipknot is just this awful and money hungry conglomerate that Chris was claiming. Nobody and I mean NOBODY is just going to pay you for nothing. There are no secret assets just giving Corey and clown money. Chris was fired because he decided against taking the necessary steps to be in Slipknot. Now if you put two and two together…. And for the record, Joey is a phenomenal drummer, but there is also two other percussionists. All the drums you hear aren’t just the lead drums. Corey Taylor is the reason Slipknot is where they are. Unless youre sorta fan of a band, you’re probably not going to recognize the music without the frontman. And there’s not many frontmen quite like Corey. I firmly predict that Corey will go down as one of the most influential and respected musicians in this generation of rock n roll. As long as he gets rid of that CMFT crap.

  • @acrevelations8457

    Slipknot did him so dirty when he died. They held a press briefing for Paul. Absolute silence for Joey. A tribute video with none of them talking and his picture at the end of shows. I mean regardless if the band were truly "brothers" like they claimed, ALL differences would have been set aside to be there for him and his family. The band treated Joey and Chris like they were nothing. It's sad. My best friend died 8 years ago and it still hits me out of nowhere. That's friendship. This band just seems like a "fake brotherhood.".....and I'm a die hard fan so no hate please. Just pissed with the way they handled everything after Paul

    • @TheLaunchPadStudio
      @TheLaunchPadStudio  Рік тому +75

      I halfway agree. They did him dirty by firing him over email and by jumping ship on him so fast while going through medical troubles.
      After his death... that's tough. Everyone has a right to grieve in a personal way. They obviously loved each other, but you can sense some lingering drama .

    • @jonnyd4306
      @jonnyd4306 Рік тому +1

      I agree 💯. They fired him thinking the reason he couldn't play was drug related, and even if it was drug related real brothers would have gotten him help,but no even when they found out it wasn't drugs they still left him out in the cold and went on to hire Jay and to hell with Joey. Not to mention the screwed Chris Fehn over just because he found out he was being screwed financially. Slipknot aren't brothers, they're a business. Clown & Corey LLC....

    • @acrevelations8457
      @acrevelations8457 Рік тому +43

      @@jonnyd4306 you summed it up very well. At this point they are a business and nothing more. And yes it's the Corey and Shawn show. Honestly I was shocked when they kept Jim. Figured after the split from Stone Sour Corey would have held a vendetta against him. He probably still does but knows that James and Mick are now the true masterminds behind making the music since Paul is gone so firing him would be brand suicide

      I will always be a die hard fan of their early albums, mostly the first 3. After Paul's death, I was on the fence about whether or not I even wanted to see the band continue. When Joey was kicked that was it for me. No Paul and no Joey, then it's not really Slipknot to me. I lost so much respect for them with the way they handled things after Paul was gone. If other people still enjoy the band these days that's fine, I'm not here to tell others how to feel, but it all left such a bad taste in my mouth and I've never been able to enjoy Slipknot in the same way that I used to. It was also clear that Joey wished for reconciliation with the band and it seems like they just ignored him. Honestly, I know how that feels from personal experience, to have a falling out with someone you considered a friend for years and expressing a desire to talk things out only to be ignored and treated like a piece of sh*t. That stings. I have to wonder how Joey's family must feel about everything. They created an instagram page dedicated to Joey which I follow, and I noticed that they follow all of Joey's previous bands but not Slipknot. That speaks volumes to me.

It has made it easy for me to find recordings of things I didn’t know existed. Keep up the good work.

    I have seen Slipknot twice. Both were enjoyable shows. 1999 and 2001. Out of the two, the second one was most memorable only because of #1 Joey. His drum solo with the hydraulic lifts and shit. Lights go out and theres a pentagram on his floor. SIIIIIIIC!!!

    I love Sipknot and love them all. But Iost a lot of respect for them when they kicked him out of the band that he put his life into. And they say they're family and brothers but to not only kick him outta the band but seemed like they kicked him outta their lives as well. They had to know how much it hurt when he lost Paul his best friend. Then to lose his band career and the rest of his brothers. Then they weren't there for him to help him deal with that pain. He's the best drummer in the world because of his inventive drum beats, his creative drum fills, like in Eyeless intro he does something kick ass he's building off the drum and bass sample underneath the guitar riff Then the fill starts off matching the second guitar then ramps up to badass tomwork and symbol punches that builds to a crescenda with single stroke rolls. Fucking amazing intro, his hand to foot combinations during fills and solos like tattered and torn he proves with combos with 4 on the hands and 2 on the feet that he's a master drum fill composer. What also makes him stand out is he would leave breaks in his drum parts to elevate what the other members were playing. He would leave breaks so they could even hit kegs. But what makes him a genius is his technical drum parts. His technicality behind the kit. love his drum cams. When he filled in for Lars. The song Creeping Death is fucking perfect. He'd play insane fast tempos with extreme precision and accuracy. Just listen to disaster piece he plays a bunch of challenging drum parts in rapid succession he goes from a blast beat to a double kick to a fill to a more double kick then another fill to a thrash beat then more fills in a ten second drum part I can't even say that in 10 seconds. That's fucking insanely fast. Another one is surfacing 1 min in he plays a groove takes a single paradiddle uses it to create a technical groove. Then makes it more intense with some fast singles on snair making it more fucking insane and amazing. But there's more reasons why Joey Jordison was such a important and influential drummer in the metal community. Besides his playing he had a cool ascetic about him. Weather it was his big heart or his loyalty his humility maybe the mask or the color of his drums his signature snair drums & cymbals, maybe the recordings of him playing while it's spinning really high and upside down. There was something about him that made you want to play the drums. He's why I started playing the drums. And millions of others. I just hope he knew what he gave to metal music. What he gave to me what he gave to us. And I hope he knew we weren't only fans of Slipknot we were fans of his. Actually more his. The respect love I I have for him and his art and music wont ever die. I think they fucking suck for turning their backs on a musical genius They might of but his fans never did. I feel honored to of heard the best metal drummers in my lifetime. Maybe for hundreds of years. It's his feet. My hands can't even go 1/2 fast as his feet go. Maybe they just do that thing on stage for him because their fans were so pissed because they fired him. They didn't want to lose fans over it. Who knows. But I miss what he didn't get to create with or without Slipknot. Joey could of been in any band as a drummer lead guitar singer songwriter. I could go on forever about him and why he's a genius or his technical ability to use patterns at quicker tempos. It took me forever to learn Surfacing took lot CB of alone time and fuck ups. He makes the hardest combos look so easy and every beat is so smooth. 🤘🤘

    It's crazy how Joey did most of the talking back in the early days. I know Slipknot is a collective and everyone shaped that early image and sound but for me Joey always stood out and without his insane drumming and input it would not be that same. I don't even know what Slipknot is anymore (some kinda corporate contract) and I don't follow them all that much as they are just not authentic in my eyes. But the way they treated Joey is disgusting. Didn't even dedicate a song to him after he passed. The whole thing is just not the same without Paul, Joey and most recently the iconic Chris...Their first album without Joey was still decent I thought but with the last two you can see they are trying anything at this point with a lot of filler, making the albums feel very disjointed.
