    I put myself thru college working at a custom made drapery shop. We made all kinds of curtains, pillows, and bedspreads. My favorite curtain is a pinch pleated sheets. Your video brought back some very nice memories. I still do my home curtains and now my kids home’s as well.

    Best tutorial I have ever seen. I am learning to make curtains because my window is 13 feet high and if store bought or custom made would have cost me an arm and a leg. Thank you so much Vanessa!!!

      Since you ask... I am making curtains with eyelet tape and fleece lining. Not quite sure how to finish with the thick lining, so that would be really helpful. Thanks @@just_fabrics

    I purchased 8mts of lovely dusky rose Satin almost 2years ago, I have been wondering what to make with it, watching this has helped me to decide. I need some new curtains for my bedroom and so I will be following your tutorial. Thank you.

    Thank you for this excellent demonstration and tutorial for hand sewn curtains. I have followed this and made some curtains (double width) that I am really pleased with. The explanations were clear, the steps easy to follow and it was easy to dip in out of the video when I got a bit stuck. Many thanks.

    This was extremely helpful, made my first pair of curtains and they're perfect! The only things I would add are a) how to measure the correct amount of fabric at the beginning and b) to be careful not to put your herringbone stitch within the 1.5inch hem area or it'll show once you attach the lining. Thank you so much.

    Thank you, this was incredibly useful. Hoping you can advise how much material to start with initially? As in, if my desired finished curtain width is X, I'll need to make the curtains to YZ width before pulling the heading tape? Thanks!

    • @just_fabrics
      @just_fabrics  Рік тому +2

      Hi David,
      Thank you for your kind words! Please see the answer to your question below.
      If you're making 3” heading tape curtains as in the video, you will need to times the size of the pole or track by 2. Then dive it by the width of the fabric, normally 1.35. Here's an example: Track width 180cm x 2 = 360, divide by 1.35 = 272. Round this up to 300 = 3 widths of fabric.
      Hopefully this helps. If you have anymore questions then please don't hesitate to ask.
      Kind regards,
      Just Fabrics

    Is there anything you’d need to do differently if you were using blackout lining? It doesn’t hold a crease as well as cotton I’m finding.

      @just_fabrics  2 місяці тому +1

      Hello,
      There is nothing different with blackout lining, so follow along as usual. It won’t hold a crease so well because of the coating. Hope this helps!

      Hi Frank,
      Thank you for your comment. The process of threading and operating a sewing machine can differ depending on which model you've got, so we recommend consulting your operation manual that will have come with your machine or googling the model number and that should provide you with the instructions.
