- It may be frustrating when iMessage conversations on your Apple iPhone turn green, but there are reasons why that happens. And I’ll explain what those are in this video.

I have a question
Why in America iphone users use Imessage
One of the most important thing in a social media/messaging app is cross platform and without this feature your messaging app is flawed and could not be compared to other cross platform betrer apps
Look for me any messaging/social media app that is not cross platform is considered one of the worst app even if it has the best features it is still the worst because it failed to deliver its purpose which is to make talking to people afar more convenient
Here in ksa and most of the Arab world we use WhatsApp because you could use on it on wide variety of devices but for me still I would love to change because whatsapp works only on one device and to use WhatsApp web you need to have your phone always connected
I want a messaging app that is cross platform and works on multiple devices at once and uses email instead of phone number and has a web app so I could use it wherever I want

It's because their iphones are sooo outdated and cannot compete with the latest android phones. Android has 200x zoom camera, 120hz, curved display, flip screens! And yet, apple added some ugly widgets that have been available on android since 2009 and called them "new" 😂😂😂😂

One of the things that I find annoying about the green bubbles is that I am in a group text and unless everyone has an iPhone, you can’t use things like the reply feature, every time you or someone else loves, likes, dislikes, questions, emphasizes, or questions a text message, it appears as an entirely new message bubble from the person, for example, as: Liked “I can come to the activity.”

Fun fact, google messages, one of the most popular messaging apps on Android, has light blue for sms, and dark blue for when it's using encryption, so you always get blue messages no matter who you text. They also have features like read receipts, typing indicators, reactions, and even end to end encryption, assuming the recipient has these features turned on as well. So android to android can be just as cool as iPhone to iPhone 🙂
No but that’s standard stuff, every messaging thing has that, except Google messages doesn’t have green texts.
That's why my friends with iphones always send me crap videos, I was confused at first because I thought iphone send high quality...
@@The-Heart-Will-Testify yep, sms is terrible for sending images/videos. Try using something like Signal maybe.
Samsung has this cool feature where you can create a link which will cause the file to be sent to the cloud in full resolution. It will also allow you to copy this link to your clipboard and/or share it to whoever you want; all they have to do is tap the link (they need internet access), and it will take them to the file. From there they can view/download the file and it will look as good as it did on the phone it came from. Now, this doesn't apply to your friend as they don't have a Samsung but thought I'd mention it xD
@@jonathantierney7301 It's called link sharing. Sharing link (contains files after accessing) through Samsung cloud. Any files can be shared using it even the highest quality. A bit sad part for some is it's default files is 5gb it will be stored in the cloud for 2 days the link will be expired/invalid afterwards. But that capacity is enough for me. This feature also makes me glad that I chose Samsung.
@@reubenmercado613 yeah, sorry forgot to mention the name haha

This happened to me for the first time just the other day in a group chat with my sisters. It was quite shocking! I was in the middle of a massive download and in a part of the house where I get a weak cell signal. I never knew whether they received my text or not.
I assume it was due to the temporarily weak signal.
blue : lifeless child
green: gigachad
Advantage: Android, as SMS does support read notifications, which Android uses. However, there are settings to allow or not allow "delivered" and "read" notifications for the person receiving the message.

iPhone User: Ummm no. You have an android! Let’s break off contact completely!!!

This was very informative
I mean, I don’t think someone will chose the love of their love based on the colour of their messages but I mean, I guess everyone is different

Not dating for not having an iPhone? Doesn’t any other message apps exists in the USA or what?
In the US at least iMessage is the 2nd largest. #1 has to be traditional SMS
They all do, more than likely whichever one you’re using was invented in the US
The thumbnail of this video is brilliant
I had a mix of "it's based on cellular data and wifi" and recently "iPhone vs andriod, but why doesn't it show on their messages instead of mine" and now this explains this

I love this channel!
I know how this feels now as a new iPhone user as it really shows that you can’t send crisp new memes to your friends without them looking like shit or knowing that they don’t have any of the IMessage add ons to have fun
If they have a supported carrier and all of you use Android you can use RCS, the SMS equivalent of iMessage
@@planefan082 actually now carrier doesn't matter for RCS because google forced it by using google jibe directed as a service.
I owned two iPhones in the last two years and I only used iMessage like 3 or 4 times. In Mexico literally everyone uses WhatsApp or Messenger no matter which phone they own.
In all of latin america is like that. I don't know why people in USA still refuse to use it
Also in Europe, no one use iMessage
Yep in europe no one uses iMessage but I always write them with iMessage when I know that the person I’m writing has an iPhone cuz I prefer iMessage more than whatsapp, viber or any other messaging app
I try to push people on using it more often 😝
The real reason nobody outside the us uses iMessage is cuz iPhones are too expensive around the world so there’s less people using them hence they don’t use iMessage
@@lifeisshrt7929 yes u are right.. in Balkan most of the people having iPhones are either broken or old iPhones even that it’s 50-50 but still people don’t know which one is using iPhone so for example I speak with half on my friends on whatsapp and half others on iMessage

thank you for informing us. I'm an android user, and yall don't know how many times I've been told to switch to an iPhone for this "green bubble" reason.
And guess what, half of this feature limiting frustration could be easily solved if Apple decides to include an RCS fallback for communication with Android devices instead of just SMS...but alas whether that'll ever happen depends as much on Apple as it does on the EU...
I wish you could customize your colors. So obviously SMS Texts would stay green but for iMessage if you could change it to any color besides green like red, purple, yellow, that would be awesome.
That's impossible. won't allow it since it'll make ios users less likely to know which platform they're chatting with

I would dispute the whole 160 character limit with SMS. Most Android texting apps don’t have that issue. Whether it’s Samsung messages or Google messages, they allow their users to text however lengthy of a message they want.
That would still count as multiple messages.
So limited message plans, or of each message costs money - that does get effected.
It's because they split the message to multiple messages and puts it together. Still a 160 char limit with SMS
Also if RCS is turned on, messaging from one Android device to another isn't actually limited
That’s cool to know
