A new hub seemed to cure the problem, but it returned a month later, eventually i replaced the £15 ABS sensors from ebay with secondhand genuine ones from a breakers and it's fault free 6 months later.

All sorted, it was caused by the paper thin metal on the N/S hub sleeve,,,no play in the bearing,,cured with secondhand £25 hub
