Japanese games always have wonky censorship like this, it makes me wonder if it's something related to how rude words might be written in Japanese compared to English. The Souls games will censor Knight as K***ht for example.

I remember S.Fumina being a giant boss, dlc only, and people expecting the ability to equip her parts, but that never happened. Possibly for two reasons, the bad quality of the game or they never planned on making her available at all in NGB. But none of that matters now with GB4!

Lol, this reminded me that in "Black and White" the Spanish version of the games are named "Blanco y Negro", this resulted in that players that played pokemon black defaulted to Negro(black) as their OT and getting their Pokemon flagged from the gts an online trades.😂
The most dangerous thing about this game was that my local hobby shop had all the kits I mashed together in stock and I had some bits lying around *kit bashing with old HG parts is a process and it involves 3d printing and CAD* looking at you buster gundam.
I kinda wish they just officially released Breaker 3 in the west instead of making a new game. Breaker 4 id leagues better than New Gundam Breaker but it still misses some of the magic of Breaker 3 for me.
I’m honestly hoping for a “war” mode where we not only do we have to defeat enemies but also capture bases. These bases could have special benefits too like the ability to summon artillery strikes, low lvl AI grunts, and/or bombardment from ships/land carriers. It doesn’t need to be on the scale of the Dynasty Warriors games but something a little more “objective based” would be great as simply defeating enemies over and over again will get stale quick. It’s mostly why I never went past completing the campaign on SD Battle Alliance.

I was gushing over the details of the game with the test and even before I began playing the game I was beaming with glee when it was just the beginning part of the game. Not to mention with the duel wielding both the ranged and melee weapons and with how you can change the arm parts now for people if they wanted to make their own scorpion from mortal Kombat or make Deadpool to their hearts content. I think there was a Daughtress kit... from P-Bandai. Lack of non-UC grunt suits in general was one of the bigger issues with GB3's roster, but it looks like they made an effort to fix it (or, at least, GBM made an effort to fix it and they ported the models). Would have been nice to have them and give the player the choice of a grunt suit to start with though.
I'd be all for that. Would love to customize a Daughtress-based MS, but I'd also be up for the Britova...maybe we'll finally get to see what kinds of weapons it originally came with, too!
After going through the Beta twice with some friends, it is definitely good that the game overall is still a s*** ton of fun to play. I do find it interesting that this is like I think the second time someone has mentioned that the plot for these recent gundam breaker games have not been All That strong in comparison to the second one because you Go to game 3 where you were building A-Team and Then new breaker where it was just garbage and now this 1 where it starts off really strong but then it fumbles at specific points later on. My guess is that's the curse of what would happen if you make a series based around making model kits but you don't carry the serious tension like from the second game from several years ago because only the gameplay is more important not so much the plot. But despite that and a good chunk of issues, Love that this is definitely gonna be worth every single penny especially with the combat being a lot of fun even if there are still some things that the third game does better. I'm just happy that we're finally getting A good new gundam game after the past few months of mediocre and the year of mediocre that we've had. Definitely gonna try and pick this up this week at most. Soild job with the review Karkarot!

Edit: in retrospect, it seems like GB4 has taken quite a number of cues from PSO2 NGS, and other similar games. The PG/boss fights give the impression that whoever programmed the combat system has taken ideas from Sega, because the way you fight the bosses is reminiscent of the boss fights in NGS. Not saying it's a bad thing, though, since it'll be something I'm used to.
I did. Made it part of a trio of giant battle maidens with the different melee hands. I can understand why the paint would be limited for those units but just not being allowed to do it at all feels a bit overly restrictive, especially since the game has had several painted versions of unpaintable gunpla featured in my lobby at this point. It's like Im being taunted. lol

There is one feature from NGB that I do miss that I wish was carried over to GB4 And it was with the weapons specifically, as some armaments don’t tell you who they belong to, and NGB had a small tab that tells you which model and unit uses said weapon I also miss the library mode it had, and also miss the warship bosses that definitely would work better with GB4’s much more refined movement
The reason why you can’t change the fumina gundam parts is bc people would Just straight up paint it like her skin color so she’ll be like naked and they don’t want that so the won’t allow you to paint it
Regarding the presence of AI as a threat in GB4's story... I'm reminded of the old arc in Gundam Wing where controversy is caused by Mobile Dolls, suits without pilots... so it's interesting to see that type of thing in this game. Sadly I don't think any of the Mobile Doll models made it into GB4 (from the lists I've seen) but maybe!

Disappointing to hear about the K&M control issues in the UI, but not that surprising. One thing I recall noticing from the ONT is the paint picker and it's noticable lack of any violet/purple paint options. I saw from your vid it still looks the same and I was hoping the final version of the game would just a hex color picker like most art apps would have.
I am very excited to see how the AoZ stuff looks based on the fact there’s a Hazel and Woundwort, hoping they do a DLC for more like they did with SD G Gen Genesis.
Been having a blast with GB4. I Tried to recreate my first custom gunpla but unfortunately came up short. Gb4 doesn’t have the astaroth rina and I couldn’t find a good replacement for its shield arm (which is a different part from the sub knuckle). If anyone has any recommendations I’m all ears

One thing in Diorama mode is that one of the effects is green but is labeled yellow. Some missed opportunities include not having the recently released P-Bandai Maxter Gundam, the Revive versions of the remaining Wing kits, and both scales of the old HeavyArms Kai EW version just to name a few. I hope later updates improve on the game and add some of the missing Gunpla.
to that "spend more time making your perfect gunpla" part, I imported the earlier gundam breaker games to play. I played each for a few hours, but only got to the gunpla customization screen in each. those sections are pure time black holes

It is interesting how much the combat sections look like Gundam Breaker Mobile. Though that just ends up making me sad about all the parts collected there and gunpla built that are lost forever, like tears in the rain.
I think you can dye Super Fumina parts using the weathering feature, the airbrush can tint the parts somewhat. It can at the very least make May Blonde.
My biggest gripe with the customization (and please correct me if I'm wrong), is that you can't transform your Mobile Suit while painting it. Which is fine for about 90% of the kits, but you won't be able to see some of the coloration on suits like the Unicorn since some parts (like the Psychoframe) are only visible in its transformed state.
It doesn’t look bad but after AC6, there’s no way I can invest in the minute to minute action. There’s not enough weight to the combat and movement to feel fluid. Wish we had a gundam breaker with combat that felt more along the lines of a better action game instead of compromising on the action. The customization and selection looks fantastic though. A step in the right direction for sure. I won’t be buying this one, but this is the customization template needed for the Gundam Breaker we always wanted.

People don't like x thing they haven't seen but everyone clowns on so they gotta jump on the hate train. You don't got to like the movie to appreciate the design (the movie has its charm of seeming like someone was trying to make star trek DS9 or Babylon 5 but was forced to ad late UC style mobile suits into it).
my biggest question is can you change the attachments on backpacks in this game? for example: can you take the tr6 hazel ii's "backpack" and attach something other than the twin weapons it normally comes with.

I'm just happy that we're finally getting A good new gundam game after the past few months of mediocre and the year of mediocre that we've had. The content filter seems like it's the same one that they have on UC Engage. The Scunthorpe Problem truly is the biggest conflict in Gundam games.

Edit: in retrospect, it seems like GB4 has taken quite a number of cues from PSO2 NGS, and other similar games.
The PG/boss fights give the impression that whoever programmed the combat system has taken ideas from Sega, because the way you fight the bosses is reminiscent of the boss fights in NGS.
Not saying it's a bad thing, though, since it'll be something I'm used to.
I'm pretty sure a lot of builders instantly went towards customizing Fumina and May as soon as they are able to.

I did. Made it part of a trio of giant battle maidens with the different melee hands. I can understand why the paint would be limited for those units but just not being allowed to do it at all feels a bit overly restrictive, especially since the game has had several painted versions of unpaintable gunpla featured in my lobby at this point. It's like Im being taunted. lol

It was bad, we acknowledge it was bad but it could have been worst. Like those dragon ball and avatar the last Airbender movies we were supposed to get way back when.
That’s why this game is called “GB4”! Even the devs have enough decency to acknowledge that New GB was the worst thing to happen to the series, and it does not deserve to be acknowledged!

There is one feature from NGB that I do miss that I wish was carried over to GB4
And it was with the weapons specifically, as some armaments don’t tell you who they belong to, and NGB had a small tab that tells you which model and unit uses said weapon
I also miss the library mode it had, and also miss the warship bosses that definitely would work better with GB4’s much more refined movement

Regarding the presence of AI as a threat in GB4's story... I'm reminded of the old arc in Gundam Wing where controversy is caused by Mobile Dolls, suits without pilots... so it's interesting to see that type of thing in this game. Sadly I don't think any of the Mobile Doll models made it into GB4 (from the lists I've seen) but maybe!

Disappointing to hear about the K&M control issues in the UI, but not that surprising.
One thing I recall noticing from the ONT is the paint picker and it's noticable lack of any violet/purple paint options. I saw from your vid it still looks the same and I was hoping the final version of the game would just a hex color picker like most art apps would have.
You can make custom colors with RGB sliders. So sky's the limit on color shades.
I am very excited to see how the AoZ stuff looks based on the fact there’s a Hazel and Woundwort, hoping they do a DLC for more like they did with SD G Gen Genesis.
Been having a blast with GB4. I Tried to recreate my first custom gunpla but unfortunately came up short. Gb4 doesn’t have the astaroth rina and I couldn’t find a good replacement for its shield arm (which is a different part from the sub knuckle). If anyone has any recommendations I’m all ears

One thing in Diorama mode is that one of the effects is green but is labeled yellow. Some missed opportunities include not having the recently released P-Bandai Maxter Gundam, the Revive versions of the remaining Wing kits, and both scales of the old HeavyArms Kai EW version just to name a few. I hope later updates improve on the game and add some of the missing Gunpla.
to that "spend more time making your perfect gunpla" part, I imported the earlier gundam breaker games to play. I played each for a few hours, but only got to the gunpla customization screen in each. those sections are pure time black holes
You gave your Fumina the Blast Silhouette. Now I wonder what other Fuminas are available, because I want to make a Winning Fumina Mk-II by combining the original Winning Fumina with the Avatar Fumina (if the latter is an available option).

How many Zakus are there? When Gundam Breaker Mobile added Schmitzers Zaku I, I was finally able to make my "Dream Gunpla".
I think you can dye Super Fumina parts using the weathering feature, the airbrush can tint the parts somewhat. It can at the very least make May Blonde.
I actually wouldn’t mind them giving an ACTUAL reason why they have an extra spot for “waist” since you can change and scale the size now.
Finally, I can make the Chars Zaku Lupus a reality (This is an inside joke with my friends, don’t ask)
They always add suits from G Gundam, but I never get to play as the Tequila Gundam.
Now that you mention it… I too would love to play as the Tequila Gundam. I never knew this was missing from my life…
My biggest gripe with the customization (and please correct me if I'm wrong), is that you can't transform your Mobile Suit while painting it. Which is fine for about 90% of the kits, but you won't be able to see some of the coloration on suits like the Unicorn since some parts (like the Psychoframe) are only visible in its transformed state.

The melee jank was off putting to me. Gundam breaker 3 felt better to me and had combo finishers to instantly ko if I remember right.
It doesn’t look bad but after AC6, there’s no way I can invest in the minute to minute action. There’s not enough weight to the combat and movement to feel fluid. Wish we had a gundam breaker with combat that felt more along the lines of a better action game instead of compromising on the action. The customization and selection looks fantastic though. A step in the right direction for sure. I won’t be buying this one, but this is the customization template needed for the Gundam Breaker we always wanted.
Kakarot197 what would be your top 3 favorite custom Gunpla in Gundam Breaker 4. Like the ones you wish were model kits or If you were in a gundam anime the ones you would use them in combat.

Everyone disrespects the G-Savior space type like it isn’t one of the hardest mobile suit designs is crazy. People got no taste
People don't like x thing they haven't seen but everyone clowns on so they gotta jump on the hate train. You don't got to like the movie to appreciate the design (the movie has its charm of seeming like someone was trying to make star trek DS9 or Babylon 5 but was forced to ad late UC style mobile suits into it).
my biggest question is can you change the attachments on backpacks in this game? for example: can you take the tr6 hazel ii's "backpack" and attach something other than the twin weapons it normally comes with.
The ridiculous banned words is an issue on UC engage as well
They could improve diorama mode by giving the gunpla a skeleton to allow the player to pose the gunpla precisely the way they want

Even Pokemon has a more lenient filter, expect that to be modded on PC other than that, the game looks great.

Just makes me wish for a "Gundam" gundam game and not just a gunpla gundam game you know. Even something like Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 where we get a bunch of characters interacting SRW-style.
Im interested in playing these games. but not until they make it so: shoulder's, arms, waist chest, head, feet, thighs, individual legs are are separately changeable. addded bonus would be v fin and face place.
