Could be DLC but with that said, Core Gundam should've been in the initial rosters. They have 8 years gap from GB3, NGB, and GBM to GB4, we should have at least more new Gunpla in the game from the beginning.
"There's no denying that Gundam has had some of the greatest anime music over the years, here's a little bit of an example!" *gets localized ad right at this time* "Ah yes.. I almost forgot about Gundam/Local cell phone plan provider music collab.. really hits home."
I think they will be the stars of the dlcs. Sorta like how in Yu-Gi-Oh, each deck has a "boss monster". Schwarzette, Dilanza, the Black Knights all are probably in the dlcs, but aren't the stars of it.
Was about to comment on this. I have been playing the game and trying to get the highest score, and there's a decent amount of variety and content. Completing the game once only contributes 1/8th of the total possible score because there's 4 difficulty settings in every mission and the added Quest missions. I hope the DLC adds more than just 4 suits per DLC (around 16+ total), but it's been pretty fun, just kitbashing kits that would otherwise cost an arm and a leg.
As fun as the truly extensive customization in GB4 undeniably is... here I am, still waiting for a new Gundam "Dynasty Warriors" spinoff ~ which by the way really should expand upon the Official Mode [covering what Reborn left out], and _greatly_ expand upon the Pilot/MS roster to fit *all* series [and movies] that have aired since then.
The one thing that disappoints me and my one friend is the lack of more grunt units or units like the Dijeh or R Jarja. Other than that he is enjoying it and my copy will arrive tomorrow.
I agree but I do think players who want more MS that aren't Gundam types are in the minority. Just look at the lobbies and try to spot the one not-gundam out of twenty four. Still waiting for a Zaku I.
@Bigkeg There are a fair amount of Zaku IIs and grunt suits in the high score leaderboard, though the game seems very unbalanced at the moment. Funnels/bits don't really do any meaningful damage, while stuff like Rex's Extra Large Mace is basically a one-shot boss combo killer, so people are probably leaning more towards high damage utility parts.
Tell me about it. Completed every quest and story mission begging for a Gaza, Geara Zulu, or ReZEL to show up at some point, but alas. No Zanscare units whatsoever. We got a Bawoo at least, but its not Glemy's one; its the Sleeves design. Like someone else said, people who prefer non-Gundams over actual Gundams are a clear minority. At the moment, my main sources of disappointment for this otherwise great game are the lack of transforming abilities/gimmicks (I think the Aegis and Gaia Gundams are the only things that can transform, if only temporarily), and the inability to wield shields on both arms (because I'm an unrepentant freak for symmetry). And Turn X, by its own design, should be either completely immune to part breaking, or have a funnel ability involving separating all of its parts and spam attacking Super Robot Wars animation-style.
@@Bigkeg We got the Zudah and Mobile Worker but not the Zaku I. Is it too early to suggest that the developers seem to have a strange bias against it or something?
recently discovered there IS A PART LIMIT, so if ya dont sell or use those parts for stuff then your gonna get clogged up by them and cany join any missions (or story mode stuff)
@@seirramoon388 it’s on the my room menu. 1500 for each category of part I believe. And like… you’d have to be playing the game NON STOP before you’d ever hit that. I did the main story first thing and don’t think I ever hit the 300 mark in even one category. Needless to say, there’s more than enough space to have one of every part for every full kit, AND one of every MG for the applicable kits as well.
While I love this game so much, what I don't like about this game is how repetitive the mission is. Gundam Breaker 2 even has a lot more variety in it's mission. For example, almost every single mission in this game is a 3 wave clear, sometimes a boss. That's it. No exploration on the mission, no nothing. Very very repetitive. The only reason to do mission is to test your Gunpla Build. In 30 hours of my play, the mission (including story mission) just becomes boring.
And the built in weapons like lupus rex tail whip and legilis bits are very lame. I was expecting them to behave uniquely. They even removed TR-6 incom shield ability. These new gundam breaker devs are fucking lazy.
The biggest thing I would say is that this is a game for gunpla fans more so than mech game fans. The level of detail in digitizing real life kits is staggering. I’ve got a couple of the starting mobile suits displayed around my gaming setup and they nailed them down to every little bump in the plastic. With that being said the combat feels loose and mashy and it may be just because I’ve been playing AC6 lately but the battles leave me unsatisfied save for the parts that I break. The TLDR is that if you’re going to love this game you probably already bought it. Everybody else should wait for a sale
what are you talking about about He is right This feel more like a gunpla game not a gundam game From how they move how they play it just look like a toy moving like dragon ball characters.
I'm quite enjoying the game, but not gonna lie. The fact that it seems like Gunbarrel Strike is locked behind DLC despite purchasing the collectors edition and having the physical kit in my hands is kinda dogshit. Instead you get the recirculation color RX-78-2, which you could just replicate in game anyways. It doesn't have any unique features compared to the normal model.
recirculation Rx has unique skills in the parts tied to it that you can either synth with your parts of choice, or just straight up use. Though that's mostly relegated for min-maxers of stats
Recirculation does have a use. It always has fixed skills locked at 5%, and some of those skills would be very difficult to reach 5% normally (requiring something crazy like level 30-40 part traits)
it should be noted that the melee combat is a ~little~ deeper than what's noted here. if you hit square square triangle, you'll get a different finisher than if you hit square square square triangle, (and that extends further depending on the natural combo length, and can be done vice versa as well)
This game is amazing if you enjoy the customization & building aspect, as he said it's literally half the game... but If you're looking for straight up mecha action & combat gameplay then this is definitely not the game for you, it's not actually out yet but the game you're looking for is called Mecha BREAK
the best part about Mecha break is the fact they actually hired a bunch of actual gundam designers for their mechs! it's entirely gundam in everything but name!
Witch from Mercury is pretty much guaranteed to be in the DLC. Probably the seed movie too. When Gundam Breaker 3 launched IBO was the currently running series and I believe only launched with the first version of the Barbatos. Then the DLC added more IBO stuff. They know the new hotness is what will sell DLC.
Random thing I came up with for the color presets issue. I made a generic RX 78 2 that I then colored all matte grey, then saved that to the very last slot of my blueprint menu under the name “primer grey” that way I could build for appearance first, and come up with a color after, simply by loading the blueprint. Unfortunately you’d need to know what color scheme you want to use before you build for that idea, but it ended up being useful for me when I wanted to make a new build.
I think for a Mecha game, I'd go for Mecha Break. Got to try a bit of beta and it was kinda fun. No building, just use ready to go mechas, that you can upgrade and customize
Correction: there are FIVE characters from Gundam Breaker Battlelogue. You've got the trio from Gundam Breaker Mobile, Misa from Gundam Breaker 3, and MEISTER JIN HIMSELF is from GB3/GBB. That's because Meister Jin is Takuma Nagitsuji, the pilot of the 00 Command Quan[T] and the protagonist of GB3 himself.
Considering that Gundams are supposed to be twice the height/size of Armored Core units, it's a bit jarring to see a giant zooming hunk of metal the size of an office building suddenly come to a complete stop as well as have hyper-velocity-start-up animations as if it were a Dragon Ball Z fighting game, and just generally have the kind of attack animation you would see in Tekken fighting games. If you were to reskin the Gundams into human anime fighting characters, the movement would 100% be fitting, especially considering many areas have no sense of scale, so you don't know if you're supposed to be 6ft tall or 6 stories tall. I missed the slower time it would take to get up to speed, the heavy thunk of when attacks land, and the earthquake-like tremors you would get when a giant mech is felled onto the ground like in Gundam: Battle Assault 2 for the PS1. Not to mention it's 2024 and the graphics don't really seem to have moved on past the PS3/Xbox 360 era, so it's funny to see an ad in a videogame for a plastic model kit that has better graphics, effects, and animations in an in-game video that's arguably better-looking than.. well.. the graphics, effects, and animations of the actual videogame you paid $60 for. Why? because each kit is going to set you back $100-$300+, plus the cost of the gunpla-making supplies, primer, paint, brushes, accessories, etc. So instead of shoehorning too many micro-transactions inside an in-game cash shop that might anger the playerbase, they instead opted to advertise an out-game cash shop for RL macro-transactions. Smart move, Bandai Namco.
The closest thing to a transformation, as far as I know, is the EX Skill of the Aegis Gundam's torso. The skill will bend the suit to Aegis's MA form to fire it's beam cannon.
@@meisai6332 Unicorn parts all have the NT-D mode ability, Gaia's backpack puts your gunpla on all fours to fire a cannon, I think there's a few others.
ITS SO MUCH FUN!!! I’ve been playing for like 12 hours straight and barely scratched the surface. I didn’t even realize you could buy kits in the store until this video lmao
But the 'not a cheap game' thing PAYS for the actual Gundams to be in the actual game... each god damn character needs to be licensed... every Gundam game is god damn expensive... due to the sheer number of Gundams being licensed... that's what you're paying for. That there's a nice game in there is kinda extra. Wonderful video, and you made me salivate for the mecha on show, love it!
I haven't finished the story yet (so I skipped that section of this video) but I've already caught myself thinking of buying the real life kits to make my in-game mechas before remembering that I've altered the scale on some of the parts and so they wouldn't actually work irl. Still, I'm very much enjoying it. I've finished through Chapter 4 using a primarily SEED-based kit that was essentially just using certain body parts/weapons that I've always loved (Blitz right arm, Ginn head, Infinite Justice Shield...) but I've spent the last couple of days designing something completely unique using parts from multiple universes. The build even evolved as I was putting it together/testing it out/painted it. I originally wanted to use GN Swords/Rifles in both arms but ended up using Lupus Rex claws, and I'd created a custom backpack out of Builder Parts to slot over a GN-X solar reactor before rearranging those parts to modify a 00 Raiser. I have to say that I'm extremely proud of what I've created, and will likely use this for the rest of the story. The sheer scale of the customizations available in this game is awesome, and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who fantasized about having their own custom MS.
You have to grind out gunpla parts to 6* to have the burst/ ex / option equipment unlocked universally. However, certain actions will lock you out of some of your skills [ poor programming bug me & some of my pals found day 4 into this game ] and / or shrink your MG kit you made to an HG version of it. The remedy to that is using a Burst/ Ex/ Option that is included in your kit to fix that [again, another bug], but it is functioning and playable. AI is also dogwater if you buddys are offline when you hunt bounties, but awesome for story.
My first Breaker game was Mobile, and I find myself missing the cinematic EX skills they had in that game. Banshee's arms dashed at the enemy, dragging them along the ground with the claw, before tossing them into the air and shooting them with the integrated rifle. That was the coolest thing ever to me.
17:33 Balanced unless we're talking about the extra large mace which when used correctly can output ungodly amounts of damage to the point where even the hardest stages kneel to its glory
Regarding the story, it's not specifically Battlogue; Gundam Breaker 4 is a direct sequel to the story that started in Gundam Breaker 3. That was later followed up on by GB Mobile and Battlogue. The characters Misa, Mr. Gunpla, Ryusei and his friends are all from those games. It has nothing to do with the Build series. The only connective tissue Build and Breaker share is that the games would often promote each other. Breaker would get new Build kits and Build would reference Breaker in the form of build contests. First place winners who submitted their works would have them cameo late into the respective shows. If the story seems a bit trope-y, well, that's mainly because they pretty much just snuck some Final Fantasy in the game. The big bad group, Freedom Fleet, is very much just a homage to Garland, Golbez and the Four Archfiends
This is likely due to Bandai not wanting to spend licensing fees cause in NGB there is gundam music for kinobosses such as the unicorn theme playing for the RX0 fight.
I'm considering buying it just to have a kitbash simulator to demo some ideas. For example, I've been dying to make a suit combining elements from all the 3 main Tekkaden frames. That said, I think the money may be better spent preordering the MG Vidar
The 3 main Tekkadan frames aren't even in the game. From Tekkadan you get Barbatos (4th, 6th, Lupus, and Rex) and Gusion Rebake. No Full City, Flauros, or Vidar. The only suit from outside of the anime is the Astaroth.
@@squishyvtuber Actually the game has the Graze, Gusion, Bael, Kimaris (also booster) and Kimaris Vidar as well. (the lack of regular Vidar is a crying shame)
Appreciate the qualified review. Yeah, it can be tough to roll with negatives on something you love (ie all things Gundam.) Appreciate your candor and honesty. That said, I will now be buying this. I have Breaker 3 for gameplay I love, but mine has less Gunpla, and I use it to study Japanese. Want 4 for the builder.
The thing about the music is one the things that stood out the most to me while playing the game. I really hope someone makes a mod that puts a lot of actual gundam tracks into the game, especially the Build Fighters/Divers ones since they seem the most fitting.
Long Story Short, if you love Gundam, yes get it. The amount of customization and gameplay familiarity from past GB games makes it feel just right. Now if you want a proper mecha game, buy Armored Core 6 and Mechabreak that will be coming out next year.
Just a clarification... the game is set in the Gundam Breaker 3 and GB Mobile Universe, that was used in the Gundam Breaker Battlogue, but per the plot, is in a new battle simulator different from how things were in the games and Battlogue. New Gundam Breaker's lore and characters are not included (thankfully). But more importantly, it is also not part of the existing "Build" franchises. My biggest complaint (besides it not being GB3's physics and controls with a new coat of paint.) is the basic EX skills... Like the saber combo. In GB3, it was available because you used sabers, not because of your arm pieces... And the mastering gimmick is just a poorly executed. The scaling changes, along with sometimes locking you out out of using other abilities while the parts are changed is just weird. But I love my Blue Destiny/Jegan/Jesta build. So I have to say I love it completely... 😁
I was excited to learn about the mastered abilities but they've just become a disappointment to me. The scale changes from MG to HG obviously hurts. But then the "ghost part" stands out even more if it's some ability that sticks around, with the final nail being some abilities getting locked out while the mastered ability is in use and I put the mastered abilities away. Combine this with the whole EX/OP foul up (too many EX should be OP )and the funnel rework(nerf!) and a lot of the post game glow is very faded. Still gonna make my Qan[T]/007 Sword/AGE-FX work somehow but I suspect it'll never be very competitive.
Basically what I've told my friends is that if you're looking for an actual GUNDAM GAME you should go with SD Gundam Battle Alliance, but if you're looking for a Gundam Building Simulator with like 30% of a game strapped to it (which sometimes feels kind of like an afterthought) you should get Gundam Breaker 4. There've been some significant steps forward AND back since Gundam Breaker 3. Building is better than ever, so is melee combat and being able to use two weapons... AI are WORSE than ever before, and co-op has intentional desync when not fighting bosses, and the play areas are just fancy arenas which you kill stuff in and then teleport out of before teleporting to the next one.
I love how you did the extra details on the gundams you built, the decals, weathering effects, color design, everything, please do a video on customization
Using the Aegis Body (both HG and the MG version) technically does make your suit transform when using the Scylla plasma cannon and yes the MA form will take account all the hodgepodge of parts you slapped on your MS which looks funny and ridiculous but other than that yes, kind of understandable why theres no transformation
Loving the game so far, but wondering why Gundam Maxter keeps seeming to miss the cut. Had a new HG come out recently, and it's the only Shuffle Alliance member missing.
A bit late but.....the weird thing with the music is in GB3 there was music from the series the models are from. You fight Shining Gundam as a boss, you hear G-Gundam ost. You use awaken with Wing Zero Model, you get Heeros theme. It is weird that this is no longer possible, maybe in the future.
My only complaints about the combat is that my fav builds from GB3 are not valid in GB4, you can't just have the 1 beam Saber, a Shield and 1 Rifle (you know, the standard out of the box gunpla kit loadout) and do just as much damage as those who dual wielding, back in GB3 we had in-depth combat, we had different weapon styles and different combo sets within those types, but now it's all about how weeaboo you can be with dual wielding everything (outside of large swords and melee). Funnel builds are now a no go, in GB3 funnels were always optional parts with their own individual cool downs, were far more aggressive and hit harder, if I made the same build in GB4 it would cost me 8 EX bars, for no additional time or increased damage, but at least all my funnels would be flying with only one button press, if they decided to actually hit once in a while. It just feels like they didn't have anyone who was passionate about GB3s combat on the team, either in their in house testers or combat development team. New Gundam Breaker was 2 steps back, and GB4 is a nice looking if only shallow step forward, still better than New Gundam Breaker, but still not par for GB3 in terms of combat, mission depth/variety and build potential. Hopefully GB5 will be closer to GB3 than GB4.
Showed my friend gundam breaker 3 a while back. A year later he had probably close to ten master grades and his first perfect grade. Addiction is real.
Ive been a Gumdam fan since Wing debuted in the US and i got curious about Gunpla a few times but outside of lime 2 HG and a precursor to the MG Wing Gundam i built maybe 3 of them. I got New Gundam Breaker and was so disappointed by it but then my beat friend saw me online playing it and the next time he was over he brought me a copy of Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition. After 20 some years of playing all the gundam games watching every show, learning the specs of every suit that game was what got me into building Gunpla. The customizing parts was awesome but the painting is what really did it for me, i went out bought an airbrush and conpressor and now a bunch of kits. I do a mock up of my kits before i paint them in Gundam breaker 3 so i can rough test color schemes without having to actually waste plastic.
I'm a purist, so I don't like that you can't just load the models up. But I still enjoy it, and I have been learning more about Gundam from the game, so that's a win for me. Just a tip, survival mode is good practice and a good way to farm parts. And Blitz and Deathscythe have cloaks that most opponents can't interact with, so they are great to ham on enemy Gundams with.
This game has mostly given me an appreciation of various model kits. I like the dynames because of the arms, I like infinite justice because of the head. I can have a SUMO. I found out the graze is extremely versatile. For that I am happy for this game. There are gunpla that I didn’t know existed that could be good for bashing into one of the suits I make in this.
the only thing i have a gripe about this entry is that when using mastered EX/OP skills, some of your parts got inflated, and not only that, when you using something like a trans-am or any EX buff skills from backpack units or mirage colloid you can't use parts you add from build part until the time of that buff ran out. so yeah, everything else is great. just hoping that they have the option to turn that off in the post launch updates
I've had the Mgsd freedom and the Mgsd barbatos standing on top of my monitors for a while now and it's made me wonder what it would look like I've I combined the barbatos and the freedom Gundam, I made it in game and it's sick cool as hell
I disagree with a lot of this but the last point especially. While obviously this game nor any game should be the thing that get you into the Gundam franchise (just start watching it), it’s a great way to get someone interested in Gunpla without committing to actually doing it. Because of the absolute wealth of choice and options. Gunpla itself runs into stock issues all the time. And some kits you might be interested in are super overpriced from scalpers. This is a great cheap way to find out what aesthetic of Gundam you like and see various real life kits you could buy in all of their angles before you decide to make a purchase. Just because a kit is “Gundarium tier” and fun to build doesn’t mean a beginner will even be interested in that suit in the first place. The best way I’ve found to get someone into Gunpla is to find the specific one that speaks to them. The. The addiction will set in.
I must say. I'm really into this game, and it's been a couple of weeks since I started it. I love Gundam Wing, but all SD models do go hard ! Their not only cute, but they look cool as hell. Once I'm done synthesizing an HG Proto Zero and Epyon, I'm getting my first SD set ! Customizing is so freaking cool in this game. I've build a couple of gunpla kits in real life, and it's super fun. I would totally recommend this game.
Actually, there is some kind of transformation. It happens when using the Aegis Gundam self-destruct op skill, and when you master it, it does transform any type of gunpla.
Warning, special modes (ntd, zero system, trans am, etc) the buffs don't stack. You can activate them all at once, but the increases in stats don't add on to eachother. Same for the defensive OP (right side powers) buffs.
Can confirm it's an addiction trigger. I was close to falling in but got around it with 3 Ultimate because that was a bad time in my life, but now that things are much more stable... I've already got three along the way. And have a list set up.
Having only two mobile suits (soon three) from a series that’s not only extremely popular in the realm of Gunpla, but underrepresented in previous Gundam games is wild- and they were bold enough to put Aerial on the cover! I don’t own anything to play the game on, but I’m sure I’d be extremely disappointed as a G-Witch fan if I did.
If not for the gunpla kits I wouldn't even remember 90% of those suits existed, let alone their names. Such a mediocre gundam series that flashed the suits on the screen for 10 seconds just to justify their gunpla release.
I wish there was a way to change music in game and olay musoc from the series. The lack of gundam series music is noticable, especially compared to gb3
The thing is there are still a ton of Suits missing. Vidar is not in the game. Narrative, Exia Repairs, Astraeas, Arios, Seraphim, Age 1 Spallow, Age 3 Orbital, Flags, Brave, Deltas, all of the Innovator's Suits, Extreme, Full Glansa, Verde Buster, G-Bouncer, G-Exes, G-Exes Jackage, Penelope, O Gundam, 00 Quanta Full Saber, Hajiroboshi, most of the Build Fighters, Try, Build Divers, Re:Rise Suits, ReZEL, the Thrones, Masurau, Aheads, I am sure there's more. The story is Build Divers 2.0, the villain, when I first see him, made me think of Kale Vandelay, and they are voiced by the same va, so that's cool.
Why mod the game? The game is pretty easy, so there's no point in cheating. And you can basically build anything you want. And you do know modding a game is basically ruining the game.... It's better to go make a game you want, than already ruining a fun game to begin with
perhaps you have a misunderstanding about modding. modding is generally referred to enhancing a game's content such as visual mods. while there may be some instances of game's having cheats through mods, it isn't as common.
@@zeroxgaming4030 Gundam Breaker 4 is using unreal engine, so is likely you can modified a lot of the in game files like music with mods. This game is a casual gunpla fan meeting game, where people show off their builds.
@@zeroxgaming4030 i once turned stellaris into a gundam universe mod. You had armadas of ships and the fighters coming out of carriers where very small gundam models. it was awesome and completely changed the game, since you didn't have that many spaceships to choose from, but instead you built your strengths around your gundam fighters I turned rome total war into star-wars. i added darth vader, geralt, snake, garret, t-800, doomguy, soleil, in xcom 2, with most of their voice lines, weapons, armors ect. This is just a small example of what modding is for.
Just wanted to say that as you mentioned, the combat feels like an afterthought cause you'll soon realise that certain long range play is barely viable unless you have a suit that has a lot of missiles The earliest example where i noticed this is with Gunner Zaku and Launcher Strike, where their main primary beam cannon is locked behind an EX action and not even your regular primary or at least your regular skills, it means that if you wanna play as certain straight build for long range suits, you're just screwed
One thing I don't really like is the fact that we don't obtain Sinanju Stein as a kit/parts, but it's literally there already, in-game as a boss in Neo Zeong II form
The game is amazing but you're absolutely right there's definitely things that they can change to make our quality of life a little better in the game.
You bring up some good points but look at it this way we haven't had an official gundam game being released in the states physically since I would say SD gundam battle Alliance and we haven't had an english dub for a Gundam game since Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. Those are the big reasons why I would definitely get this one especially considering that we haven't even had a new gundam breaker game at all since new gundam breaker and that game was garbage. This one is at least made from the same team and while the story may not be as strong as from what I've heard that the second gundam breaker game has and I am definitely not the biggest fan of the whole virtual space of having your mobile suits fighting each other with no stakes instead of like how it was in the first 2 build series and even like with shows like Angelic Layer or Medabots, But again at least it's officially released, anyone can get it on whatever platform they want and we have an english dub. Plus you can make the tall geese and make It look like a goose or you can build an optimus prime so I think all of that definitely makes any argument invalid lol except for the tutorials and maybe the zero use of the OST from the series. Although I will say this at least this has music unlike armored core 6 where there's barely any and only very rarely does it show up but it doesn't show up when you're building your machine, like with the older games.
This game left me wondering what is Bandai thinking? DW: Gundam 2 is one of the best Gundam games ever made, with hours of replayability that doesn't feel as repetitive as GB4 or SD: Battle Alliance. Instead we got this... As a builder's tool, it's cool. Not worth $60, but it will absolutely help me planning future builds and dioramas. As a huge fan of this franchise I'd love to see it grow in popularity across the world, but I'm left wondering why Bandai continues to get in it's own way trying to grow the Gundam Brand. 🤷🙄
On the point of melee. Axe+Saber has some comboes that allow for kicks, which if you use Kimaris Vidar legs, is a absolute style and flavor win and omg I love kicking into drill knee
Coming from SD Gundam Battle Alliance and SRW30 that has an option to load custom music into your game library, I'm surprised it's not an option here. Also the lack of custom series music when triggering awakening depending on your parts.
Mecha Gaikotsu what would be your top 3 favorite custom Gunpla in Gundam Breaker 4. Like the ones you wish were model kits or If you were in a gundam anime the ones you would use them in combat.
Only Breaker 1 and 2 had the real life themed levels, 3 abandoned that for the digital world idea before Build Divers hit the scene. I do wish we got some of those back tho. Aside from that you covered a lot of my major complaints. Even before DLC I think my major want is for a big QoL update, fixing up some of the UI clutter, giving us the parent kit check from GB3, preset color schemes, a toggle for previewing kits in the shop before buying, among other things like that.
I bought this game the other game. My main gripe is that you can't build on an empty slot. I think the better way would have been to select an empty slot, and build from there. Also, this may be just me but I find you can't save any upgrades you make to a custom build; instead you have to do a roundabout way of selecting an empty slot to save the upgrade you make. I think those parts of the game could be improved.
You forgot one or two parts: Only one Savegame, only one List of saved Custom GunPla per Start. Means: If you start from anew (New Game), you loose ALL saved GunPlas you done in the game you done before. Also, you have to go through ALL Tutorials again when you begin from anew. There is NO New Game Plus Mode with keeping your saved custom Gunpla list and without this Tutorial stuff. -.- Also there is a missing function while upgrading your parts. In GB3 it was so, if a Part you like to upgrade and the Part you will use for it have a matching ability, both desriptions becomes a blue frame and you can see, how high the percentage of your gundam parts ability becomes. This isn't in GB4 which is sad, because it makes the matching unnecessarily confusing. I hope they will put this back in in a future update. Also, at the moment, I play GB4 only with Non Gundams, my best two are a Leo from Gundam Wing and a Ginn from Seed. ^^
I wish you could change the shoulder armor in conjunction with the arms! And I wish color customization was like Forza, where you could add decals to mask off parts of the suit you want to chance the colors on. Maybe there is. I haven't played with the textures that much. But yeah! Great review! I have very similar gripes and praises for it! This is the most fun I've had in YEARS!!! The most interested I've been in Gundam for a long time!
The other thing I would say about the roster is: no Gelgoog Marine. Gundam Wing is also missing a good number, like the Aires, Tragos, Taurus, Virgo I and II, Tallgeese II, Mercurius, Vayeate, Maganac...
@@DynaMoose apparently its a liescensing issue. GB3 was SEA only whereas this one is a full western release. That said sd battle alliance had music so not sure how true that is
@YouGuessIGuess Agreed. I played through all of SD Battle Alliance, and I miss having the Rage of Rust from IBO play as I use the ultimate ability. The audio also seems bugged. Boosting at all restarts the theme music over and over.
Yeah I booted up GB3 and having the Unicorn music kick in when you activate NT-D and awaken feels great every time. It being missing is really noticeable in GB4.
Get this if you enjoy the collecting and customization aspect. If it’s better mecha gameplay you want, go Armored Core. They scratch two different itches
Is there anyway to know what weapons "belong" to a kit? Its hard to build something and bind the kits proper loadout. Sometimes the weapons have the kit owner in parenthesis, but not always.
There are a LOT of MS that aren't in the game too. And a lot of missing variants. Which is weird because there are variants of other less popular MS. I would have loved to see Todesritter or the GP04 Gerbera. Maybe it is just me but I am a bit tired of the same roster with a few additions for new series.
The gameplay is honestly a repetitive chore and not that fun. In terms of DPS, melee beats ranged attacks by a large margin. It is not DMC but the game actually has quite a lot of tools for you In terms of skills with cool down. IBO tail blade/master gundam arm - DMC Nero devil arm pull. GNX arm ver. GN claw - You dash quickly whilst spinning, you latched onto an enemy and the enemy get dragged away as you dash. ball manipulator arm/Susanoo ver. GN claw - a grab attack that bypass enemy blocking. There are similar grab attacks with different animations. Astray gold frame backpack grab attack can heal you by draining enemy HP. Adzam cage attack - immobilise all regular size MS for several seconds. Slash disk from purple gundam from IBO: Reduce enemy defence for a few seconds. Rifles/bazooka do great amount of damage for a few seconds and it can stun your enemies. It is something you can use to mix in with your melee attacks to increase your DPS. The game has MG heavyarm and as you know the backpack is a big Gatling gun. However, you can't use it as a main and weapon and it only offers a weak skill. NT1 and Super Fumina's little arm Gatling gun offers same weak skill and it do the same amount of damage. Things like this really limit the amount of functional builds in this game.
I only ever played NGB(nearly got all trophies too), GB3 never came to my region and importing a phys copy is too expensive, my main fun with the game are the dioramas, honestly I bought it purely to make gunpla creations and dioramas
I don't know if you could put something like G.N. condenses on another kit like on the barbatos shoulder or some psycho frame on G-gundam at all. Can you? Have you ever ranked different parts against each other? Like best Wings and/or backpacks, shoulders, head design, legs or any other parts you said (dang, this part out class all others in its field)? At least you don't need to worry about being back heavy.
They could have had the wave riders be a chest skill (example it becomes the zeta wave rider when you use it's chest). The customization is also great. I have personally made 2 custom Efreets and was able to also almost perfectly recreate them in game. I also made a Gurren Lagann. The only noteworthy fails I see with the game are the mastery skill armies (clear wire frames look bad) and funnels being hot garbage. I found a way to make them passable... Equipping 3+ different funnel skills each at 1 cost and throwing them all out at once. It isn't good but it is passable constant AOE damage. I usually build up EX fast enough to keep 3-4 active constantly.
The story is basically the two arcs of the first Build Divers season rolled into one abridged version. Not completely one to one, but the similarities when they occur are noticeable in my honest opinion.
Gb3 was peak combat ngl, gb4 not so much. Alot of the parts have built in weapons but theyre all ex skills instead of option skills and i hate it in gb4. Its even worst when funnels are ex skills and you can only have 4 ex skills and healing takes up one of the slot so 3 ex skills. While you can have 8 slots for option skills, WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE A GUNPLA THAT ONLY USES FUNNELS AND I WANT ALL 8 SLOT TO BE FUNNELS?!
I played this game and still playing. My Gundam name is Pelesit( Pe~le~seat), named after a demonic creature in the Malaysian folklore that people use to perform black magic
What confuses me about the music thing is that we got absolute ridiculous amounts of music in SD Gundam Battle Alliance. Why did that game get multiple tracks from every series while GB4 has none?
Yeah, I am both curious to research the Japanese music industry (anime in particular), and afraid to cause...yeah not sure what I'll find. But know it can be odd at times, besides this game, a big one that stood out to me was One Piece Red using the original Japanese singer even for the dub when Amalee who did the voice for the dub for the singing character in question could sing quite well and has a channel here dedicated to doing English covers of anime music...my guess it was probably down to the original Japanese singer getting royalties for use of the song, which is probably the case for why Breaker and other anime games don't often get their anime soundtrack, cause it will cost them.
Sad that Core Gundam + PLANETS System Armors are not in the game. I love me my Core Gundam 💔
If they got paid more, they would have put the effort in.
Could be DLC but with that said, Core Gundam should've been in the initial rosters. They have 8 years gap from GB3, NGB, and GBM to GB4, we should have at least more new Gunpla in the game from the beginning.
I recently heard something about the game being datamined and files existing for the Core Gundam among others. Likely to be a DLC unit.

Calibarn and Mighty Strike Freedom are coming in free upcoming DLCs, so we can expect more to be (hopefully) added just like them
are we missing any EW suits?
I think they will be the stars of the dlcs. Sorta like how in Yu-Gi-Oh, each deck has a "boss monster". Schwarzette, Dilanza, the Black Knights all are probably in the dlcs, but aren't the stars of it.
We’ll prob get core gundam stuff too
Was about to comment on this.
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq i didnt see the Gray Green HEavyarms Custom in the game yet only one i can think off that i didnt see
As fun as the truly extensive customization in GB4 undeniably is... here I am, still waiting for a new Gundam "Dynasty Warriors" spinoff ~ which by the way really should expand upon the Official Mode [covering what Reborn left out], and _greatly_ expand upon the Pilot/MS roster to fit *all* series [and movies] that have aired since then.
They really should have add a dynasty warriors mode in gb4

Legit we NEED a armored core gundam game
Mecha break is ok, but I still think Armored core NAILED mech combat to the fullest
I thought "this would be an awesome gundam game" while playing AC 6
If they did MS 8th team type fighting with destructive environments and an awesome single player experience, I’d buy it in a heart beat.
What do you think of Gundam Battle Operation 2 + Gundam Breaker Customization?
Its basically AC 6 but just merge two gundam games.

Has always been there. It is at least 500 more than in GB3.
@@seirramoon388 it’s on the my room menu. 1500 for each category of part I believe. And like… you’d have to be playing the game NON STOP before you’d ever hit that. I did the main story first thing and don’t think I ever hit the 300 mark in even one category.

👏 👏 👏 thank you! Good God if they got paid more they would have made a perfect mecha game that everyone could love!🎉
The only reason i havent bought the game
Yeah and the story isnt terrible (the cutscene are amazing too, abit goofy but great) and gunplay were alot of fun.
And the built in weapons like lupus rex tail whip and legilis bits are very lame. I was expecting them to behave uniquely. They even removed TR-6 incom shield ability. These new gundam breaker devs are fucking lazy.
@@YudA295 Same goes with Aerial, Breaker 4 Funnels are laughable and Gund-bits were no different...but worst
A more mature gundam game made by FromSoft (like AC6) would be cool.
They did that for the PS3, it was based on Gundam Unicorn. It was a Japanese exclusive, but if you have a PS3 you can play it.
Ac ain’t Gundam get that out your head bro

I'm quite enjoying the game, but not gonna lie. The fact that it seems like Gunbarrel Strike is locked behind DLC despite purchasing the collectors edition and having the physical kit in my hands is kinda dogshit. Instead you get the recirculation color RX-78-2, which you could just replicate in game anyways. It doesn't have any unique features compared to the normal model.
dude you can purchase gunbarrel strike in the shop after you play for a bit
@@addy8869 At what point? I've beaten the game and almost fully cleared the quests too.
recirculation Rx has unique skills in the parts tied to it that you can either synth with your parts of choice, or just straight up use. Though that's mostly relegated for min-maxers of stats
@@blazewindyeah I think they lock it in the dlc quest
I'm so excited for mecha break!
the best part about Mecha break is the fact they actually hired a bunch of actual gundam designers for their mechs! it's entirely gundam in everything but name!
I miss gundam breaker mobile tho
SD Gundam Battle Alliance is pretty good too.
Or EXVS and AC6. Are most gundam fans from EXVS?
i didnt even think about how i could use the game to customize my kits without wasting time like that... absolutely gonna buy it now
Witch from Mercury is pretty much guaranteed to be in the DLC. Probably the seed movie too. When Gundam Breaker 3 launched IBO was the currently running series and I believe only launched with the first version of the Barbatos. Then the DLC added more IBO stuff. They know the new hotness is what will sell DLC.
Ohhhh jokes on you! I’m already going to give up my credits for this! I have GB3 and I NEED MY FIX!!!!!
14:29 LBX mentioned!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
I got an Odin on my miscellaneous shelf
That's not all. That guy in Twitter also makes all 3 protagonists' LBX in Wars. Especially both Dot Blastrizer and its Ragnarok Phase.
Hahahaha I just found out today myself
But the 'not a cheap game' thing PAYS for the actual Gundams to be in the actual game... each god damn character needs to be licensed... every Gundam game is god damn expensive... due to the sheer number of Gundams being licensed... that's what you're paying for. That there's a nice game in there is kinda extra.
Wonderful video, and you made me salivate for the mecha on show, love it!
All the points were valid and I'm enjoying the game for the most part, grinding between chapters is annoying and the Core Gundam is missing though.
The biggest thing I don't like about this game is the loss of the unique weapon type EX Skills.
As much as i want it, i am gonna just wait for sale to pick it up
The best choice.
It’s what I did with SRW30
It's perfect for that, as you can adjust any part scale and how they fit.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is pretty good too.
The versus team or armored core team has to help them with combat
I also suggest MechaKnights Nightmare
Btw mecha break is gonna be free to play
Megaton Musashi W on steam is pretty good too. Almost like Gundam Breaker but with more variety and simpler
Using the Aegis Body (both HG and the MG version) technically does make your suit transform when using the Scylla plasma cannon and yes the MA form will take account all the hodgepodge of parts you slapped on your MS which looks funny and ridiculous
but other than that yes, kind of understandable why theres no transformation
I Hope Added TMFA With Gundam Robot Dog in Gundam Breaker 5 or as DLC Pack in Gundam Breaker 4
I would totally recommend this game.
i miss gundam breaker moblie version it's been 1 year ago since shut down
They could've made the game better instead of shutting it down
Actually, there is some kind of transformation.
From what I heard, it was just a matter of timing. Even the included suits were kinda last minute additions.
If not for the gunpla kits I wouldn't even remember 90% of those suits existed, let alone their names. Such a mediocre gundam series that flashed the suits on the screen for 10 seconds just to justify their gunpla release.
@@HaohmaruHL You are alone in this garbage opinion
The good: double Exia GN swords
The bad: only one Qan[T] shoulder binder
I cant decide between Gundam breakers 4 or Armored core 6???
I bet those kits would be in DLC. Like many Bandainamco games for example Gundam SD Crossrays where G Gundam units were DLC content.
I really wanted Age 1 Spallow, thr Flags and Exia Repairs for that cloak.
More build part slots would be cool too
Really hoping it's not too hard to mod the game, the PC version could really go crazy with modding. Especially soundtrack stuff.
Why mod the game? The game is pretty easy, so there's no point in cheating. And you can basically build anything you want. And you do know modding a game is basically ruining the game.... It's better to go make a game you want, than already ruining a fun game to begin with
@@zeroxgaming4030 uh to change music or add more fan-made content. It has nothing to do with cheating
perhaps you have a misunderstanding about modding. modding is generally referred to enhancing a game's content such as visual mods. while there may be some instances of game's having cheats through mods, it isn't as common.
You had armadas of ships and the fighters coming out of carriers where very small gundam models. it was awesome and completely changed the game, since you didn't have that many spaceships to choose from, but instead you built your strengths around your gundam fighters
I turned rome total war into star-wars.
i added darth vader, geralt, snake, garret, t-800, doomguy, soleil, in xcom 2, with most of their voice lines, weapons, armors ect.
This is just a small example of what modding is for.
Just wanted to say that as you mentioned, the combat feels like an afterthought cause you'll soon realise that certain long range play is barely viable unless you have a suit that has a lot of missiles
The earliest example where i noticed this is with Gunner Zaku and Launcher Strike, where their main primary beam cannon is locked behind an EX action and not even your regular primary or at least your regular skills, it means that if you wanna play as certain straight build for long range suits, you're just screwed
One thing I don't really like is the fact that we don't obtain Sinanju Stein as a kit/parts, but it's literally there already, in-game as a boss in Neo Zeong II form
The game is amazing but you're absolutely right there's definitely things that they can change to make our quality of life a little better in the game.
In Gundam Breaker 18 maybe..
Funny thing about the music. Gundam Versus has all the music from the series. Even SD Gundam Battle Alliance had instrumental versions.
@19:00 gundam has some of the best music, heres an example *UA-cam ad immediately starts to play* can not script that xD
Love the balance in your review, keep it up! 👏🎮
@EltonVirse I meant player's being able to save their own presets
Also there is a missing function while upgrading your parts.
Still wonder why the graphics effect look bad compared to GB3
The other thing I would say about the roster is: no Gelgoog Marine. Gundam Wing is also missing a good number, like the Aires, Tragos, Taurus, Virgo I and II, Tallgeese II, Mercurius, Vayeate, Maganac...
Totally always do the same thing in gundam breaker; try to create my own creation using specific pieces from the same era/suit
It sounds like I should wait and buy this on PC later once it either has been updated to be less annoying and/or there are mods
No gundam music is unforgivable.
Yeah it's just sad, the lack of immersion in the game is kinda hurting the experience.
Kinda crazy considering GB3 did have Gundam music.
How is the gameplay compared to armored core ? Can we compare them ?
Get this if you enjoy the collecting and customization aspect. If it’s better mecha gameplay you want, go Armored Core. They scratch two different itches
Is there anyway to know what weapons "belong" to a kit? Its hard to build something and bind the kits proper loadout. Sometimes the weapons have the kit owner in parenthesis, but not always.
What about the separation of waist to the legs when customizing?
I MEANT to add that but totally forgot. The fact that the waist is part of the legs is definitely a bad point
The melee hand hand has a series of combo.
Also uc weapons sometimes have a lot off underslung weapons to activate fire modes.
The gameplay is honestly a repetitive chore and not that fun. In terms of DPS, melee beats ranged attacks by a large margin.
It is not DMC but the game actually has quite a lot of tools for you
In terms of skills with cool down.
Actually if GBO2 with this camera angle and better connection, it will be much better. Btw, no EG strike collectors edition review ? 😂
Why did that game get multiple tracks from every series while GB4 has none?
there is a blank color palette to save your custom colors you just have to do it manually like the last games.
