    Everybody in the comments keeps complaining that this performance was "terrible" y'all kept asking for the song, then they play, then you complain about how "terrible" it was? I'd like to y'all form a band, and try to play the song perfectly! Song was recorded in '88 and not played FULLY until 2011! 22 years! And for Kirk not playing the solo correctly, maybe he didn't want to because I don't think Metallica ever actually wanted to play this in its entirely! It's also called improvising on what Kirk did with the solo! Damn near every musician does it!

      I like it when kirk improvises .. Its like new material .. Much more impressive then just follow the recording :)

      I'm pretty sure the original solo was played by James. As much as I LOVE that solo, I Kirk's live rendition. This performance was pure class.

    Still cant believe I got the honor of seeing this live. If a person is unfamiliar with the Fillmore, you couldnt fit a basketball court in there. What Metallica did these four nights was absolutely personal and a celebration of them with their fans.

    To live is to die is one of the numbers that shows why Metallica differs from the other metal bands. Metallica is the only metal band that can express so profound emotion in heavy sound.

    I dont know guys. Im a big Metallica fan like most of the Joes here commenting on this page. But I dont entirely hate the solo effort of Kirk. When I first listened to this song(Justice recording), the solo hit me so unexpectedly. I didnt know what to do with myself, it was artistic gold. I felt like a beast walking down the street. If a lord like Kirk is able to do that, hes always a god to this fan. This live version was a Renaissance of that solo to me. That guitar whaled like it was in pain

    Kirk hammet went through alot of late nights trying to relearn alot of this stuff. What makes him a legend? Being able to say that ive learned and forgotten how to play more music than most will ever learn to play. Kirks guitar will continue to shove metal up asses for generations. P.s.- its cool to see a marshall back in the mix.

  • @Humbucka537
    @Humbucka537 12 років тому

    I hope these guys know WE love this song! When I saw all those comments about the solo I thought it was about the first one which I'm pretty sure Kirk improvised (made up on the spot), but he really should have learned that one, which I recon James probably did on the album. It sounds like a James solo.

    getting deeper with age... It's different, but you still talk and enjoy talking don't you? That's how it is with their music... Learn to enjoy it, instead of annoying everyone with your opinions and hate comments.. nobody gives a shit what you have to say, but, I stepped in because it happens more often than it should. I'm here to enjoy it.. and so is everyone else.. nobody is here to read your comments and complaints about why they play different.

    @jkjl234 The problem is though, is that they don't suck. They're still a really great band, still touring in huge stadiums, still writing, and not stopping, They're a great band. Just because your prefer the 80's 90's stuff doesn't mean they suck entirely. It's just different, So before jumping to the conclusion that; "Oh they suck now because they don't do what they used to." You could enjoy the fact that they're 30 Years strong and still playing. And I'm not a Fanboy btw. But I love Metallica.

    All you guys hateing on Kirk, and the rest of the band not playing the part as they should, really need to read the rolling stone article on this 4 day concert. They would not play the same song twice during the 4 nights, so they rehearsed for 20 different songs each night. I think for 80 different songs throughout 4 strait days, these guys FUCKEN ROCKED IT
