People absolutely are accepting of those 2 albums, the amount of people including mysef who are begging them to play Fixxxer live is unbelievable, but they just don't
Load and Reload Are my favs albums of them. Now I first got into the first albums and made me fan. But I was positively surprised when I heard those two. They Are musically and poeticaly on another level. And Great with a band that dont Just put out 11 albums with the same fucking sound. Aint My Bitch, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Fixxxer, Until It Sleep is my favs. Although the latter should be longer.
When Load came out I was 14 and in a really bad place in my life. I had really no one to turn to. I'd been absorbed in Metallica for a few years by this point and had only Metallica and their Music to help me. I've said it before but they saved my life. Thank you again Metallica I will be always forever greatful.
i like when james looks back at lars at the 8:25 mark he gives him that ok man you got another one in you and he does the double bass drums like the old metallica even robert trujillo had to smile like dam they still got it they dont do it for long but at his age it's incredible he still has the knees left to even do it .... fucking awesome song!!!
I absolutely love this song, so underrated. In fact I'd argue the version of this song with the symphony is one of the best performances of Metallica's career.
WHOLLY!!! This is one hell of a song. Im a metal head, life long metallica fan, and to this day love all music heavy as it can get. The Load albums are full of a TON of Metallica classics. Devils Dance, Carpe Diem, Outlaw Torn, Prince Charming, Fuel, Aint my Bitch all come to mind and you know there's more than that. It IS time Metallica fans grow up and appreciate the whole body of work, not just the first 3 albums.
Shit. I thought nothing would beat the S&M version of Outlaw.. But oh man.. This is just perfect. Hetfield kills the ending solo.. And that White Iron Cross? Will appear in my dreams.
Ya this song & album has a lot of memories for me. I always use to listen to this song & album on my train ride home to my small home town of St.Marys,Ontario,Canada Home of the Canadian baseball hall of fame,The Quarry which is Canada's largest outdoor swimming pool,St.Marys Lincolons which are Canada's oldest Jr.B hockey team & have helped many players to the OHL,ECHL,AHL,NHL,Awesome endless snowmobile trails,
I always thought the lp recorded version of this song never gave it teeth. I new it was/is a great song and this live version is how it should have been produced. Digging it!
Gotta say, this is the BEST performance I have seen of Metallica since Woodstock 1999. WOW...Even Lars put some effort into it and James REALLY put his heart and soul into it. He lost his METAL EDGE VOICE, but this was a great performance (playing wise).
load was the first metallica album i heard back in the 90s, and it has always been one of my favourite ones... and it doesnt contradict the love for the 80s albums, besides some narrow minded people
@jackys25 I completely agree, sir! Load was the first Metallica record my parents allowed me to buy and it was the first I memorized from beginning to end. This one and Ronnie were probably my first immediately favorite cuts, but I played the entire cd front to back so many times I actually wore out my first copy. :0
im a huge fan of the early metallica (kill em all till justice) but i have to say this one of there best song they have ever written.dont know why but it is....
I know they're hesitant to play much from load/reload besides the singles because of the whole backlash, but this is definitely one I think most fans would embrace if they played it live more often.
The version of this on S&M is my favourite performance of anything, ever. So fucking awesome to see them play it live again (even if it's not quite as epic without the orchestra =P )
Also, Kirk looks pissed the whole time, probably because his guitar part is so limited in this song haha... and Lars did double bass towards the end? Omg!
@Grunfetta i'm glad others noticed this - it hurts that some are saying he's "bored" - i don't think it's that at all - i think it's something personal going on in his life.
Hey @mathiasnielsen66 I been checking a lot of your Fillmore videos, the're great! You really know when & where to focus the camera; is almost where I would have been looking myself. You don't get much kudos for that (+sharing them, +putting the videos in HQ) Thank you very much. And I don´t mean it just for this video, but to all the ones you have posted. Gracias.
It's not an effect. The camera picks up the audience sound alot more than we are used to hearing. And obviously there's gonna morph a weird sound with everyone not being able to sing in key etc.
dude awesome video , thanks a million for this, from an avid Metallica fan, even though we couldnt be there , feels awesome to actually be able to see this \../, did Dave Mustaine perform with them as well, I cant find the vid, thanks again \../
Very interesting point...I am gonna check out the S&M version to see if you are right. I think this song and Bleeding Me are way underated. Bleeding Me has one of the heaviest bridges they have EVER written, I think.
@emokiller907 Even tho ur playing Capt. Hindsight I respect u coming around to notice the brilliance of these albums.. And not jump off the ledge cause its not the metal ppl were used to.. Very sad some ppl cant see the musicianship over the lack of it not being metal.. #BLIND.
i was there, trust me...no way he was bored. Tired? ohh yea they all were. i noticed that "auto-tune" effect during the 1st part of the verses...it sounded much better without it In my opinion finally saw them play this song, always been 1 of my favorites :)
Load was an amazing album, no matter what anyone says. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad, folks. Love this song. No so much the vocal effect though...
@danielleseman97 Swelling. He's just playing with his volume knob. All you have to do is have your volume off, pick the string, and then fade in with the volume. Before you hit the next note, the volume has to go back down, and repeat. Hope that helps!
@exploitmankind I have to agree, brother.Lars is my favorite drummer of all time and I say the same damn thing every time I see him butcher a song live.No feeling at all.Unlike many drummers that SAY they could play his songs better than him,I 100% could do it because I eat and sleep his parts.I LOVE Metallica, make no mistake about it.I just wish Lars would play with more feeling. With that being said,I'm happy they played this tune (even though my man butchered it) because I love it!Rock on!
This is one of their absolute best songs, and even better live. The ending is much like the ending of Fade, it just nails the live experience.
You can tell from how sir hetfield performs these songs he really does love them, people should be more accepting of these albums x
People absolutely are accepting of those 2 albums, the amount of people including mysef who are begging them to play Fixxxer live is unbelievable, but they just don't
Always loved them
Load and Reload Are my favs albums of them.
@@corvus2288 I know James really wants reload stuff live. Especially fixxxer and the unforgiven II.
The emotion James shows in this song is just incredible! Love it!
The S&M version of this song is always the best! But still this is awesome with James being completely into it! \m/
IM SOOO HAPPY THAT JAMES' ESP GUITAR IN THIS VID IS GONNA BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC!!!!
When Load came out I was 14 and in a really bad place in my life. I had really no one to turn to. I'd been absorbed in Metallica for a few years by this point and had only Metallica and their Music to help me. I've said it before but they saved my life. Thank you again Metallica I will be always forever greatful.
7:00 James HetFEEL
Go to 8:30 to witness James go crazy
LOL he must love this song!!
Trent Carr And witness Lars butchered this song too. He must hate this song...
Thao Hien he must hate every song then
Thao Hien im just kidding i dont hate lars but i had to say it
damn, that jam at the end is from out of this world
Bass line, drums, riff, solo, vocals, perfec song.. One of my fav metallica songs.
i like when james looks back at lars at the 8:25 mark he gives him that ok man you got another one in you and he does the double bass drums like the old metallica even robert trujillo had to smile like dam they still got it they dont do it for long but at his age it's incredible he still has the knees left to even do it .... fucking awesome song!!!
I think they just didn’t know how to finish the song because it fades out
Kirk is all the song like "Hey... Im playing the guitar? or im on holydays in Miami beach?" xD
jajjjajajaj
James is incredibly into it. That's what I love about Metallica: they bleed music
James' guitar-work on the second half of this tune is inspiring
This, wasting my hate, bleeding me, PRINCE CHARMING FFS, attitude, 2x4 and carpe diem baby NEED to be played alot more.
Eh on 2X4. But yeah man Load and Reload have some gems on it.
And Fixxxer!!!
Kyle McKinney Fixxxer fucking RULES! \m/ And Bleeding Me too.
Tyler Melton Yeah, 2X4 is kind of a lame Southern Rock-ish song - lol
Andos2325 No. Just this and bleeding me
Happy new year with Metallica
this is so freaking great they need to play more songs from load, reload & st.anger.
I absolutely love this song, so underrated. In fact I'd argue the version of this song with the symphony is one of the best performances of Metallica's career.
Gosh!!! look at James!!!! that's beautiful.. I'm in love with these guys since I was 13.
And now I wait my whole lifetime for you....
This song is a seething monster. Its dark and brooding to begin with, steadily grows with rage and finally explodes at the end. EPIC!!!
It's always fun when Het kicks the gloves off, pushes Kirk to the background, and shows off how good he truly is...
This song is just way tooo amazing.
i couldnt agree more. Bleeding and Outlaw are two of my all time favorites.
This is a dream concert... Metallica playing some of their lesser known songs, playing with their idols, and James's voice was perfect here...
OMFG!!! This gotta be the best version of this song ever!!! James shredding at the end fo the outro just fucking orgasmic!
You can see that James is sooo happy because they finally played that song live.
You obviously can appreciate the MUSIC instead of the image! Props to ya!
Shit. I thought nothing would beat the S&M version of Outlaw.. But oh man.. This is just perfect. Hetfield kills the ending solo.. And that White Iron Cross? Will appear in my dreams.
how lucky can you be to watch this masterpiece live????
This song still gives me the chills
Im suprise so many ppl sang along i thought i was one of the few ppl who loved this song
my fav metallica song, along with invisible kid
Ya this song & album has a lot of memories for me. I always use to listen to this song & album on my train ride home to my small home town of St.Marys,Ontario,Canada Home of the Canadian baseball hall of fame,The Quarry which is Canada's largest outdoor swimming pool,St.Marys Lincolons which are Canada's oldest Jr.B hockey team & have helped many players to the OHL,ECHL,AHL,NHL,Awesome endless snowmobile trails,
Also another one in my essential catalog. Love it Baby! I always pause to jam when i hear The Outlaw Torn...
love james' volume swells.... the best!!
This is a really good performance, would like to hear soundboard version
Simply amazing performance...one of my favorite Kirk solos...goes perfectly with the song, and then James'solo at the end...drool.
amazing i hope one day i can listening a live METALLICA all the way for ever
ME TOO!!
Only Metallica can turn something so little in something so great...
The greatest (And most underrated) song of all time.
I always thought the lp recorded version of this song never gave it teeth. I new it was/is a great song and this live version is how it should have been produced. Digging it!
The reason why I love Metallica and James is that they/he is full of EMOTION ! I mean watch this !
Gotta say, this is the BEST performance I have seen of Metallica since Woodstock 1999. WOW...Even Lars put some effort into it and James REALLY put his heart and soul into it. He lost his METAL EDGE VOICE, but this was a great performance (playing wise).
One of my favorite Metallica songs...
One of my favorite Metallica songs of all time.
This is a great song!! The guitars are beautiful and sound good too!
load was the first metallica album i heard back in the 90s, and it has always been one of my favourite ones... and it doesnt contradict the love for the 80s albums, besides some narrow minded people
One of the most underrated songs in history. Jaymz solos like a fucking beast 4:37
i wish james had more solos, and more songs where he can show off his voice like this.
This is a great song off a great album.
im a huge fan of the early metallica (kill em all till justice) but i have to say this one of there best song they have ever written.dont know why but it is....
with this song, I can not underestand how the people says load is a bad album
How can everybody say that Lars sucks? He's one of the most badass drummers I know
This is killer!! THANKS
load is amazing wish they would play it more
I know they're hesitant to play much from load/reload besides the singles because of the whole backlash, but this is definitely one I think most fans would embrace if they played it live more often.
The version of this on S&M is my favourite performance of anything, ever. So fucking awesome to see them play it live again (even if it's not quite as epic without the orchestra =P )
Damn!!! F(u)cking good!!!!!!
and king nothing, hero of the day, until it sleeps, aint my bitch, thorn within
Also, Kirk looks pissed the whole time, probably because his guitar part is so limited in this song haha... and Lars did double bass towards the end? Omg!
@Grunfetta i'm glad others noticed this - it hurts that some are saying he's "bored" - i don't think it's that at all - i think it's something personal going on in his life.
thanks really nice show!!

@menacer60 The extended solo is just brilliant.. I love the S&M version.. but this is so good. And James was really enjoying himself and feeling it.
i never saw james push him self soo fuking hard at the end. he really spilt everything he had right there.
I'm a girl and I obsessed with all things Metallica!
7:56 James is really living it xD
The bass is amazing
Love this shiny fretboard
such an under rated song ...
James Hetfield is the next US President, thank you Metallica for this Masterpiece, Long live metallica, we love you
Saw it live in Melbourne, fucking unbelievable!
2:54 Now I finally know how he does it!! Thanks uploader, I can play the song better now xD
Instead of listening to the album people keyed in on hair cuts , so silly , this was far from alternative
#BLIND.
5:51 I wonder who picked up the slide
i was there, trust me...no way he was bored. Tired? ohh yea they all were. i noticed that "auto-tune" effect during the 1st part of the verses...it sounded much better without it In my opinion
finally saw them play this song, always been 1 of my favorites :)
James is fucking loving that outro solo.
I fucking love LOAD and RELOAD
This is Brillant
Load was an amazing album, no matter what anyone says. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad, folks. Love this song. No so much the vocal effect though...
@Guitarman8832 thanks for the information !!!
Wish I was there
@menacer60 This video is perfect and with the livemetallica recording it would be brilliant. Hetfield is just on a whole different level in this.
Am I the only girl who is crazy about them still?!
You sure about that? His voice doesn't sound very distorted in the chorus and that's what the album version sounds like.
James isjust the best frontman ever!!!
i'm having a "eargasm" right now.
i love u metallica
30 years of geeatness
this shit is awesome. they actually look better than they have in a while here. METALLICA!
They should play more of load and reload songs.
@danielleseman97
Swelling.
He's just playing with his volume knob. All you have to do is have your volume off, pick the string, and then fade in with the volume. Before you hit the next note, the volume has to go back down, and repeat.
Hope that helps!
@TheShepster80 yeah i read that, when they were talking about how affected he & james were by the song `junior dad' on `lulu'.....
@christokaryk i think what it is is that he's in love with this song & with getting to play it! :)
